Implementation of exit APOCDPS1in the Production Planning Run

Hi Folks,
I am trying to implement the exit APOCDPS1 in the Production Planning Run transaction /n/sapapo/cdpsb0.
Can anyone throw some light on the implementation methodology ?
Further Inorder to use the exit in the production planning run , i need to select an option " Planning Object = 5 Copy objects from Customer Exit APOCDPS1". And then I need to select "Selection ID". Where can I configure this selection ID ? Should I need to build this in the exit?
Thanks for your support.
Best Regards
Yoge

Hi Yogeswaran,
Kindly contact your ABAP consultant for implementing the said user exit. This user exit is called when production planning run is executed.
The selection ID needs to be mentioned in the code. And here for particular selection ID you can write specific selection criteria. For example, we wanted to select orders of particular date which is not possible in standard selection.
Best regards,
Vaibhav

  • Exclude stock at a storage location from the Productionn Planning run

    Hi,
We have to exclude a storage location from the Production Planning run. We already implemented a user exit in CIF and changed the stock at the storage location to a category Z1 that is not relavant to SAP, but the stock at the location is still being consitered for production planning.
Please suggest a way so that it is excluded from the Production planning
    Regards,
    Sireesh

    Hi Sireesh,
    Please try these following options.
    1) Filter this storage location in the programme /SAPAPO/RMSDPDEP by writing customised code with an abapper, so that it will drops the storage location stocks not getting planned during deployment
    2) Try anyof these user exists
APOBP011 Enhancement for Stock BAPIs (BUS10504)
    APOCF011 Inbound Processing: Stock
    APOCF027 Customer-Specific Enhancements: Stock
    3) Exclude the category from the ATD receipts category group maintained in the master data

  • Error while production planning run

    Hi,
I got this error "No gap for activity ||| found within the planning horizon" during production planning run.
    Diagnosis
There is not a large enough gap for the activity ||| on the mode
1- in the planning period specified in the time profile.
    System Response
The system does not schedule or reschedule.
What could be the reason for this error ? Kindly help.

    Hi,
One reason could be the Time Bucket.
Please check your time series assigned for production planning run.
Check the PPMs and maintain the scheduling data .
Please let me know that whether you have transferred the data from R/3(Materials, WorkCenters, BOMs,PPMs) or you are doing manually in APO.
Let me know then i can tell you the right approach.

  • Regarding the production plan

    hi gurus,
when we define a plan in ASCP there are Manufacturing plan, Distribution plan and production plan. When we define a production plan, then this plan will be for the high level item i.e. nothing but the end items or the FG items. If this is a production plan then only those items which are defined as MPS / MPP will be used in this plan.
so for a manufacturing ASCP plan how can we use the production schedule as a demand, as per the oracle concepts we have learnt that the output of a production plan can be used as an input for the manufacturing plan.
so where do we input that output of the production plan as an input in the plan options of the manufacturing plan that i define.....
    thanks & regards

You have to maintain two plans
    1. One is the production plan which has its own inputs for demand ( forecast or MDS etc)
    2. Second is Manufacturing plan where in plan options .. you have to assign your production plan from setp 1 as input to this plan ( as demand schedule)

    Hi,
Assume FERT below HALB below ROH.
    1. Create a demand in MD61 for FERT material.
    2. Run MRP by MD02.
    3. Check the stock evaluation by MD04. System will generate planned order for req. Convert the planned order to prod order by double clicking planned order.
    4. Same will apply for HALB also.
    5. For ROH, system will create pur requisition, check in MD04.
    6. Convert this Pur.Req into P.O. Do goods receipt against this P.O by MIGO.
    7. Stock will increase for ROH. check the stock in MMBE.
    8. Issue the ROH material  against HALB prod order by MB1A 261 mvt.
    9. Confirm the prod order by CO15. Do goods receipt by MB31 101 mvt.
    10. Same is applicable for FERT material also.
    11. Check the the stock in MMBE.

  • Production planning run

    Hi,
I have a continous supply of raw material with predifine schedules like 1000Lt at 7AM,1200Lt at 8AM etc. till 7.00PM. When i run the PPDS heuristics how the system accounts these  expected planned receipts.Shall we have to created any STR or Schedule agreement...System has to consider these receipts and then only it has to generate further supplies if these are not sufficient...
    Regards
    Hemanth

    Hemanth,
OK, SAP_MRP_001 is one of the standard 'MRP' type heuristics.  I will assume that you know that this heuristic will perform MRP Demand-type planning.
For this heuristic to function, I will further assume that you know you need to have demand elements in place (dependent demand, Independent requirements, sales orders, etc etc).
When this heuristic runs,  it will perform a net requirements calculation.  This means it will look at all existing supply elements (stock, planned/production orders, purchase reqs/purchase ords, etc), and at all existing demand elements, and will determine in a time-phased fashion each place where demand is not met with supply.  It will then look at the ordering policy of the material, and create procurement proposals.
    So, to your issues:
Now i have to prepare a production planning schedule for tomorrow utilising the stock quantity first and based on the expected quantity schedules.
This is standard MRP planning.  SAP_MRP_001 will do this, provided you have sufficient demand in place
I dont want the system to create Purchase requisitions. It should check the expected supplies and create planned orders for production planning.
The procurement proposal type will depend on the settings in the product master.  Generally, if the material is 'externally procured', you will get a purchase requisition.  If it is internally procured, you will get a planned order.  Also, SAP_MRP_001 standard functionality is to check existing supplies during its calculations.
Now my question is how should i capture the expected supplply hourly schedule in APO and whether this Heuristics check these quantity schedules?
The exact timing of the procurement proposals will depend on when you actually have a shortage.  This in turn is dependent on the timing of your demand elements.  You can set the SIZE of the procurment proposal by setting the Lot Size procedure in the Product Master.  In your case, I believe a time-based policy would be in order, such as 'by period', period = hour; number of periods = 1.
In your post you didn't mention:
    Fin goods, Assembly, Raw materials
    MTO or MTS
    Process or Discrete
    Demand or consumption planning.
    Capacity Issues.
    How to execute the plan
I am going to stick my neck out and make the assumption that you do not have a lot of experience in the area of PP/DS, or planning in general.  If you are asking these questions because you are trying to learn about planning, fine.  This is what these forums are for.  On the other hand, if you are in a position where your job requires you to create these planning scenarios for your client, or for your business, then I strongly advise you to go to your supervisor and ask for help.  SAP offers many fine schools to learn about these issues, and there are many consulting companies that will guide a company through the implementation of PP/DS planning.

    Hi,
ppco0007- Exit when saving production order
ppco0012 - Prod order display/change order header data
ppco0005 - Storage location/backflushing when order is created
In transaction smod, in enhancement field type a name & then press f4. In the pop up screen enter the package as co,keep the exit name field as "blank" & press enter. All the relevant exits will be displayed.

  • Recursion in planning run: product T-B104 location PL1000 to be planned twice

    Dear experts,
Please advice regarding the following situation. I execute the Production Planning Run. After this, I check the log and I get the following error : "Recursion in planning run: product T-B104 location PL1000 to be planned twice". Based on previous posts regarding similar situations, I run the trx. /SAPAPO/SNPLLC to identify the existing cycles resulting in the recursion of the planning run. After this, in the log I have the following error: "no supply sources were found for the model 000".
Does anybody have a clue regarding the cause of this ?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
This should be probably master data - please check if you have all the master data in APO. ( for eg PDS)

  • Regenerative planning run in APO

    Hi experts,
I need your input on the following scenario.
We have APO PPDS implemented for our Manufacturing industry client. We have designed to run only Net Change Planning every day and there is no design to run Regenerative Planning.
What is the importance of running Regenerative Planning? What do we lose if we don't run a regenerative planning?
We have CTP scenario, so there are lot of parts planned automatically.
Is there any impact of automatic planning on Regenerative planning and vice versa?
What is the best practice to follow with respect to Regenerative Planning?
I appreciate if someone could answer these questions. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Manimaran M.

    Hello Mani
Following are details are from old SAP Handbook,  good information to understand the concept.
    ====
    Net Change Planning
Automatic material requirements planning is especially hard on system performance for production processes with complicated BOM structures. To guarantee frequent planning runs of those materials which are relevant for planning despite this problem, you can carry out the planning run with the "net change planning" procedure. This process only plans those materials which have undergone a change relevant to material requirements planning (for example, change in a production order due to excessive scrap, a new sales order, and so on) since the last planning run.
The so-called planning file exists especially for the planning run and contains all the materials and their respective MRP types. If a material is changed in a way that is relevant to the planning run, it is given a net change indicator meaning that it will be included in the next net change planning run. In a net change planning run, only these materials are planned.
Net Change Planning in the Planning Horizon
Performance can be improved even further by using the net change planning run in the planning horizon.  Here, only those changes relevant to requirements planning that fall within a specific period (defined by the user and known as the planning horizon) are included in the planning run. It is advisable in this situation to carry out a total planning run in regular intervals (for example, weekly or monthly) to keep the planning results completely up-to-date.
    Regenerative Planning
It is also possible to carry out a regenerative planning run. In this planning run, the system plans all materials that are relevant for planning. Usually, the regenerative planning run is only carried out in the implementation stages.

    Hope this will help.

  • CIF - PurchOrder to SCM - how will PO be displayed in the Product View

    Hello,
I am just wondering how a purchase order from R/3 (material is purchased from an external vendor) for a specific plant is shown in APOs Product View:
    1. New Purchase Order  - PchOrd
    2. Purchase Order in R/3 with an order confirmation (AB category) - POMemo????
    3. Purchase Oder in R/3 with a shipment notification (LA category) - POMemo
Why is the category within APO already a POMemo even so we only have a order confirmation?
    Thanks.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Sandeep,
    Please use BADI :/SAPAPO/PPT_SELECT
Restriction of the selection in the product planning tab.
/SAPAPO/PPT_SELRES:Adjustment of Selection in the Product Planning Table
Also for scheduling planning board you can use  customer exit APOCDPS8 to  select object according to customer-specific criteria.

  • Frequency of Planning Run ?

    Hi Experts,
I have a query with respect to the frequency of planning run in APO SNP..
    1. If i receive forecast from DP once a month, shoud the frequency of SNP planning run should also be month ?? What all conditions should prompt me to take the SNP planning run on weekly basis inspite of getting the forecast from DP once a month ??
    2. If i take SNP planning run monthly, then what should be the frequency of Deployment and TLB runs..?? What factors should be considered before deciding on the frequency of deployment and TLB runs..?
Your inputs would be highly helpful in deciding on the frequecy of plng runs in my project..
    Thanks & Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
The frequency of your planning run will depend on the type of ur network. You havent given any details of ur network(the Supply chain) over which the SNP run will happen.
SO, let me assume that you r dealing with a Customer,DC and Factory, basically 3-level N/W.
Now, u r releasing demand from DP once a month and that forecast is on the Customer level, then the main factor is that whether you have any business process of capturing the sales from the Customer level. If you have that, then in which frequency?
If you can decide upon the frequency of the Sales updation from the Customer level, then we come to a scenario where the Customer requirement on the next level(D.C) is getting changed depending on the frequency of the Stock updation at the customer.
If the scenario is some sort of this, then ur SNP run should be in parallel with the frequency of the Stock/Sales updation at the customer level, because fresh requirement should flow to the lower level(D.C).
This can be one factor to decide ur frequency of ur SNP run. Like this, there may be many depending upon various Business Scenarios and Ur Supply Chain.
Now, coming to the Deployment and TLB run frequency, the main point of decision will come after gathering the business requirements. The frequency of TLB can be dependent on:
    a) Stock holding capacity of ur source location--if there is a scenario that ur source location is not capable of holding stocks, then the frequency of ur TLB run should increase in order to Push the Stock to the next level.
b)Suppose you have found that, the demand of one of ur D.C is very less for a month. In that case u can run Depl and Tlb for it in lesser frequency in respect to other D.C whose demand may be much more.
So in a nutshell, Ur Deployment and TLb should depend on ur Business Scenario, the Products( fast moving, medium moving..), Capacity Constraints of ur factories, ur Parameters for ur modes of transport.
I hope i am able to clarify queries to some extent.
    Regards
    Sunshine

  • Unexpected result of Production Plan

  • Production plan

    Hi PP Gurus,
    I have a following requirement.
    Scenario -
    1. On 25th of every month we use to get sales paln for fert for the next month from mkt dept.
    2. We have almost 200 Fert, 700 halb and 3500 roh.
3 We also have @ 250 work centers.
    4. Two plants for same sales organization.
    5. 7 level BOMs and Multi operation routings defined in SAP.
    Requirement -
Before finalization of next month's production plan I would like to know the capacity situation, based on available capacity for two different plants I will finalize the production plan so that it will be more realistic. Is there any method in SAP PP module which will meet our business scenario?
    Thanks in advance.
    Abhay

What Ankajah mentions is the use of Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP), a tool which is available provided that you are using SOP (standar or flexilble planing). If you are entering your sales plan to SOP and then transferring to demand mgmt, then it is possible to take a first glance on the capacity requirement for the next months. This is not precise (it is not the objective) but it is very simple and act as a filter , removing some mistakes in the plan or "not affordable" quantities and giving a very fast feedback to plannign and marketing people.
The detailed capacity planning must be execited on the basis of Planned or Production orders, son you need, at least, to run the MPS for the finished and intermediate products.
In our case, we carry out previosuly the RCCP  and after this coarse clean up, we run MPS and a report is generated for planning and sales people, showing
    - Actual Stock
    - Sales Plan
    - Production plan (SOP)
    - Production Plan (based on planned orders).
Based on this report, some changes in quantities are carried out.
The capacity situation is also shown for the main WCs, but the scheduler has the rights to switch between WC, so the WC used in the routing it is not always the one finally used in SFC.
