Implementing graphs from 9i demos in forms

I am trying to find some documentation on how to implement bigraph demo in my application. I have gotten the demos to run but I'm not sure what components I need or where to put them in my existing apps which will run over the web on the application server.
Right now I am just trying to open the canvas that has the bean and I am getting the error
"FRM-13008 Cannot find JavaBean with name 'oracle.forms.demos.bigraph.FormsGraph"
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Is the required jar file in your class_path variable before you invoke forms?

Hi. I've got a form set up in which people are supposed to submit a final report on a grant. There are large multi-line text fields in which they can enter text -- and most people are writing the text in Word and then just copying it into the text fields. In the process, however, they lose formatting of any tables, charts and graphs that are in the Word file. Is there any way to avoid that? Or is the only solution to ask them to append a Word-created pdf containing any tables, etc., to the form?

How to implement a java class in my form .

Hi All ,
I'm trying to create a Button or a Bean Area Item and Implement a class to it on the ( IMPLEMENTATION CLASS ) property such as ( oracle.forms.demos.RoundedButton ) class . but it doesn't work ... please tell me how to implement such a class to my button .

If you want to add your own button then if you extend the standard Forms button in Java and then use this class name in the implementation class property then the Java for your button will be used instead of the standard Forms button. Here is one different from Jspell..
In 6i client/server you can call MS Word spell checker using OLE. Below sample code for 6i.
For 10g you will need webutil to use same code. install webutil and just replace "OLE2." with "CLIENT_OLE2."

Calling graph from Reports created in graphics builder?

Can you call a graph from Reports 6.0 that was created in Graphics Builder. I know you can call a graph from Forms. I tried creating my graph right in Reports with the wizard but for some reason it does not give me the fields I want to use in the available fields column, so I created the graph in Graphics Builder. Do you use a trigger of some sort. Any examples would be appreciated if this is possible. Thanks

Yes, you can call a graph from inside a report. All you need to do is select the button with the graph on it (not the icon with the wand, which indicates chart wizard). Then draw graph in the area of the report where you want the graph to display. After completing this, right click on graph, select Property Palette, Chart - Chart Filename (this is where you will type in the directory and filename of your graph that you created in Oracle Graphics).

From Clause query with form variables

forms 9.0.4 rdbms 9.2
Is it possible to create a From Clause query with form variables generated from another block (but in the same form)? I am not having any success.
I searched Metalink. It appears that according to DOC ID # 69884.1, in Forms 6i, this is not possible. Metalink suggest in DOC ID 104771.1 implementating a dynamic From Clause, but when I duplicate the example on my system, I receive an Oracle error. Further investigation from the web form (DISPLAY ERROR) indicates that the system does not see the dynamic value.
Has anyone else run into this error? Has this been fixed in forms 9.0.4 and I am just missing something? Does a dynamic from clause query work? Can anyone point me to an example or post an example or offer any advise.

As far as I know it is not possible to use block items in a from clause query in forms 9.0.4. Here is my solution for a From-Clause-Query via the 'Query-Data-Source-Name-Property':
To use the values of the block items in my from clause query I implemented a database package with getter and setter routines for the block item values I needed for the query.
In the Key-Exeqry-Trigger of the From-Clause-Query-Block I set the global package variables with values of the block-items I am interested in. In the From-Clause-Query I used the values in the where-clause via package functions which return the global package variables.
Hope my solution will work for your problem.

Chnaging input in a waveform graph from front panel in labview

Hi !
I am working with temperature sensors; I have several sensors to read simultaneously.
I want to plot information from different sensors in different plots and have the option to change/select the sensors in the a graph from front panel. For example, I have 8 sensors(please see the attachments_ front panel), A,B,C,D,E,F,G and M. Some time it could be possible that user want A,B,C in Tumor Graph or sometimes only A and B. That means the identity and the number of sensors could be changed in different times.
Now I connect only two sensors per graph (ref: block diagram) but the number and the sensors to be plotted in a certain graph can be changed, so How can I implement it ?
Any help or idea will be appreciated.

Creating Graphs from a JTable

Hello fellow coders, Im not too sure on how to implement a graph in swing and was looking for some help into creating a graph from a Jtable in my program. I have seen many suggestions to use JFreeChart, but i am not too sure how to use this. Any suggestions or help will be much appricated. There are duke dollars availiable for the most helpful reply.

Yes i do mean a Chart with x,y co-ordinates - sorry should of been a bit clearer.
The problem i have had with JFreeChart is actually figuring out how to use it. It hasnt got any decent documentation that i have found.
I am using eclipse to code my program and have included the libraries into the build path but it has taken me a couple of days to get that far.
The libraries being the .jar files found in the \lib folder. Please tell me if I am completely incorrect the way i am doing this
If any one has used JFreeChart before in a similar way could you please forward the relevant documentation or tips to help me get started with this library. As it is so big and i am just stuck trying to understand it at the moment.

With the rising popularity of JSON (especially with Ajax), support for it has started to appear in the Java community. I am not aware of any standardized approach yet, but expect it is likely we'll see that eventually. For now, you probably want to look at a third-party library such as the [JSON in Java Library|http://www.json.org/java/], Jettison, or [Java Tools for the JSON Format|http://jsontools.berlios.de/].

The last part of the implementation involves finding a minimal cut in a graph
(I need to build a graph from the image pixels with some constrains).
Does anybody have an idea how to implement weighted graph class efficiently
in order the graph cut algorithm to run fast?

Implementing multi-select lists in Oracle Forms

Can anyone of you please tell me how to do multi select list in forms. I used picklist.fmb from oracle demo forms but it is not working fine. If someone could provide a working form I will be grateful to them.

Some years ago I wrote (using Forms6i) utility MSLOV for such purposes, and even wrote an article about using it, but, of course, in Russian :-)
I successfully use it in my Web Forms6i project and also test it in C-S Forms6i and Forms9i.

At first, you need a code, which can be downloaded from http://www.geocities.com/luzanovp/mslov.html
At the end of article there is a link to mslov.zip. Get it.
Compile MSLOV.fmb and MSLOV.pll
Run demo forms: EMP_DEMO.fmb, ORD_DEMO.fmb and see how it works.
It requires Scott's tables: emp, dept, ord, item, product. You can create these tables from demobld.sql
Below description about how to use it.
You can show to user only one column, actually it can be expression (so, you
are not limited here to one database column only ).
Specify this column/expression by label_in parameter to fp_mslov.show_lov
For example, if EMP table contains first_name and last_name columns and
you want to show to the user full name do this:
IF fp_mslov.show_lov (
   label_in => 'first_name || '' '' || last_name',
Parameter id_in - this is what will be returned to you as a developer after user
made his choice.
For example, you want to receive array of EMPNO:
IF fp_mslov.show_lov (
   label_in => 'first_name || '' '' || last_name',
   id_in => 'empno'
In some cases you need to return more that one column.
You can specify up to five additional columns for such purposes.
For example, you want to return not only EMPNO, but also SAL and COMM columns:

   col1_in => 'sal',
   col2_in => 'comm'
Also, you can use expressions in place of these columns:

For all these questions you must use from_clause_in parameter.
In our example we will query emp table and want order by salary in descending
order:

Parameter title_in to fp_mslov.show_lov is a self documented.
This is a title for MSLOV dialog.
So, to invoke mslov utility, we construct such call:

This function fp_mslov.show_lov will return TRUE if user made selection and
FALSE if user press CANCEL (similar to SHOW_LOV builtin).
Now, if it return TRUE we need to process returned rows (selected by user).
I store it in global record group.
But to work with this record group, you can use fp_mslov package, which
provide desired API for this purpose.
At first, you need to declare a variable of FP_MSLOV.OUT_RECORD_TYPE type.
Actually this is a record type declared in fp_mslov package specification.

   returned_rec FP_MSLOV.OUT_RECORD_TYPE;
To process selected rows we need a loop from 1 to a number of selected rows.
Such number can be received by fp_mslov.rowcount function:

To return one row we can use fp_mslov.get_row function.

Now, you can do what you want with returned row.
RETURNED_REC record has the following fields which correspond to parameters of
the
fp_mslov.show_lov function: id, col1, col2, col3, col4, col5
You know that in id field will be empno column, in col1 -> sal, etc
So, you can process them:

   returned_rec := fp_mslov.get_row(i);
   message('Empno: ' || returned_rec.id);

Remember that returned values always are varchar2 values.
So if you need, for example, a date you need explicitly convert it to char when
invoking
fp_mslov.show_lov and then (after fp_mslov.get_row) convert it to date with the
same format mask.
For example:

To clear memory structures which used by global record group and others
variables,
you need to use fp_mslov.clear procedure.

Does anyone know how to capture the SP username of who is making submission of the data from an InfoPath 2010 form? I looking to avoid the user need to type extra information like username/ manager name, etc; and then use code behind to be doing validation
before to push that data to an sql server.

How to show the graphs from 16channels or more at one time

I am using labview with pci-6031e board.
Is there a efficient way to show the graph from 16 channels which acquire the temperature with thermocouple, or to show just one specific graph that I want.
I followed these steps.
1.in examples from the labview program,I`ve used the source of acquring the multi-temperatures.
2. used the index array to devide each temp. and connected this to graph in the case structure.
but it requred too many space,and doesn`t look good.

You can set a state machine doing the following: Put 17 controls, one for each temperature and one for all. Inside the case structure, wire one case for each temperature, bundling x and y arrays into a cluster, and then building an array (of 1 element). In the all case bundle each temperature and build an array of all. Put the array output into the graph... and it's done.
