Implementing SOA in Struts

Hi All,
I am new to Web Services, and can any one help me with some articles where I can find how to implement SOA in struts for an webservice.

Hi Mohit,
I have got one link which has some information regarding SOA implementation.
May be it will help you.

  • Did we implement SOA architecture

    Hi ,
    I am new to SOA and just wanted to know, whether we are on right tract to implement SOA architecture in our peoject or not.
    We have a landscape of five system .
    CRM 5.0
    ECC 6.0
    XI
    BI
    EP 7
    Now we are in a process to implement all the main processes in the system as a webservice.
    Just for an example , we have created a FM which would create a BP in CRM system, similarly we have created FM's for creating SERVICE ORDER in CRM system, PLAN and CAMPAIGN creatinn in CRM system.Like this we have lots of other small and big processes.
    Similarly we are trying to imlement all processes in ECC side as webservice.
    So my question is , once we have created webservice for all processes does it mean we have implemented SOA in our project?
    Regards
    PG

    Hi,
    Although you are already working on defining your own services, I'd strongly suggest taking a look at the ES Workplace for enterprise services already provided by SAP. As an example, the enterprise services for CRM contain predefined services for Business Partner Data Management and Campaign Management.
    The benefit of re-using these services is that these have been defined using a formal methodology, and in consultation with customers and partners. So you'll get industry best practice business services which you can customize if you want. SAP has an ecosystem around Enterprise Services Definition which any customer or partner can join. This way, they have a say on what SAP rolls out to customers.
    For an SOA Roadmap, I'd suggest taking a look at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/soa-methodology. This will help you in step-by-step progress towards SOA. Not all steps might be relevant so you can be choose whichever you consider appropriate. But it is good to have an end-to-end view.
    There are a lot of documents on SDN related to SOA Reference Architecture which SAP proposes. Please take some time out to look at it. /people/kareemullahshah.quadri/blog/2007/02/19/sap-architecture-150enterprise-soa-basics is also a good weblog on SOA and what SAP offers. /people/kareemullahshah.quadri/blog/2007/02/19/sap-architecture-150enterprise-soa-basics is good one for build vs. buy SOA.
    If you are a SAP shop, then it might be best to use SAP's SOA Reference Architecture as a guideline. If you have a mixed IT portfolio, please do review what other vendors like IBM, Oracle/BEA, etc suggest in terms of SOA reference architectures.
    An ESR will act as the central repository for your services and a must have for SOA implementations. You will find that in all SOA reference architectures. This helps you down the road when the number of enterprise services increases. Governance is a nightmare in SOA and ESR will help you in that. SOA Reference Architectures from SAP and other vendors contain necessary components you should have for an SOA landscape.
    Hope it helps. Feel free to post any questions that come to your mind.

  • How to implement paging in struts

    is any body tell me how to implement paging in struts. because it works on action not on page URI.

    u will get so many TLDs' for this. just go googe

  • Implementing Frames in Struts

    I have an application that I have developed using the struts framework. I have a search page in here which consists of combo boxes, calendar and text boxes. This page is searchPage.jsp . From this page the results come in either a 'schedule.jsp' or a 'detailschedule.jsp' depending on the input given. This application works without error.
    The problem is when i try to implement this using frames.
    I put the 'searchPage.jsp' on the top frame and the lower frame is the target fame. the whole page is named 'searchResults.jsp'.
    <frameset rows="38%,*">
         <frame name="top" src="http://localhost:8080/balloon-new/searchPage.jsp" target = "bottom">
         <frame name="bottom">
    </frameset>
    I have made necessary changes in the struts-config also for the changes to reflect. But when my application moves to this 'searchResults.jsp' i m getting the following error:
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find bean searchPageForm in any scope
    searchPageForm refers to an Action Form that I am using .
    I would be really grateful if u could tell me how to solve this and work out frames well in struts.
    Thanks.

  • Will GRC AC RAR (CC) add value to SOA  based SAP implementation?

    Hello GRC Experts,
    I thought of asking other GRC experts to get their opinions on the GRC AC RAR for the following scenario:
    These days there are numerous SAP clients implementing SOA based Composite Applications using the CAF. These SAP PORTAL applications use Adaptive RFC (direct calls) and Web services calls (thru PI/middleware) to the back end SAP applications to complete the 75-100% of the work. The remaining 0-25% work may be completed using the transaction codes. There are also calls to the back end systems originating from non-SAP applications using the web services via some middleware tool to complete the 100% work.
    When the GRC AC RAR deals only transaction codes and their associated authorization objects, how do you assess the risk for this type of access in GRC AC RAR and how do you build a custom rules matrix for this type of applications?
    Thanks,
    Himadama

    Hello again,
    Has anyone implemented SAP GRC RAR for the SOA based application? What are the challenges faced? If this is not possible, then anyone has any idea if this is covered in GRC AC 2010 version.
    Regards,
    Himadama

  • Need help on SOA implementation strategies

    I am interested in strategies for implementing SOA using BEA. I figured one would be using WL+ALSB combination, and the other using WL+ALBPM combo (The service is designed in WL). Am I right in my thoughts? Also can anyone please guide me to any article/papers which can compare the two implementations? The points of comparisions that I am interested is ease of orchestrating services, ease of enforcement of SLA & runtime, ease of development and of course SOA Governance issues and the standard NFR's

    I think you're going to need to specify more about the requirements of your project. Try starting with the type of PBX, its interconnections and capacity requirements. You might also put some kind of an upper boundary on your budget since 'cost effective' for one company is certainly not so much for another.

  • Understanding SOA implement technology (1)

    Hi sirs;
    Here I'm trying to understand how to implement SOA; reading articles over the net, we find always SOA related to SOAP, always being implemented "the services" using web-services.
    Maybe I'm getting the wrong concept but ...
    Aren't Web-Services designed in his initial form to address communications between external applications to the enterprise legacy applications ?
    So .. lets think about just private business rules (or atomic services) to organizations almost then must be made using SOAP ?
    I mean.. lets take an example ....
    1. service one Aprove Client using internal queries to ours database
    2. service two Create Order imputing (or inserting) to orders table into ours database
    3. service three Communicate Payment inserting payment into payments table into ours internal payment's related database;
    All this tree examples of atom services should not be made by internal calls directly to BC4J applications datamodules calls for example ?
    Or at last, can't we expose a jsf portlet (whatever) connecting directly not via RPC or SOAP to ours services;
    And then......
    Thinking at an imaginary forth service to an external partner vendor ... haaaa so good, there we should puzzle those tree services into an web-service exposed by SOAP to outer word ...
    Am I in right way ?

    Hi Dietrich;
    Yes and No :);
    As a meter of fact I'm not designing any application here, I'm just trying to understand how SOA is implemented and if it is just implemented based on web-services.
    This entry is related to Understanding SOA implement technology (1) and I'm considering small business or smaller applications;
    Where we will have one application server at all;
    linked here Understanding SOA implement technology (1)
    Thanks for your time

  • How to use SOA Suite in conjunction with SOA Analysis and Design Tools

    Hi everybody,
    I am a novice in this field and I need some help regarding integrating analysis and design tools with SOA Suite.
    We used to analyze and design with Oracle Designer and use its powerful form generator to develop a system. It almost covered all the software lifecycle and kept the traceability between anlaysis,design and implementation.
    I have studied about the SOA concepts and read some papaer about SOA Suite. I have also installed the SOA demo based on SOA Suite and I found it absolutely amazing, but my problem is that It seems oracle does not have any tools for SOA Analysis and Design. am I right? if so, How can we analyze and design a system based on SOA concepts and implement it using soa suite in such a way that keeps traceability? What tools is used for this purpose?
    It seems that IBM have some tools like Rational Software Architect and Rational Suite which enable people to design and analyze based on SOA concepts and then generates some pieces of code (like oracle designer in old days) but is it possible to design in these tools and then generating codes for SOA Suite ? (for example generating a bpel file from a design model)
    As I told before I am a novice in this field and I would be so grateful if other users can share their expriences regarding this matter.
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

  • JSF Tiles and Struts ActionForward

    Hi All
    I would like to use Tiles with my JSF application.
    In order to get the best from Tiles i would like to use definitions.
    the problem that most of the power of Tiles and definitions is coming from the use of ActionForward.
    Does any one now how i can implement ActionForward with struts definition name in the Navigation in JSF.
    I understand that i need to hack the Navigation model and get the Tiles bean from the Tiles using the outcome value.
    Then i know that i need some how to get the tree that generates and forward it to the JSF or somthing like this.
    Does any one have an idea how to do it???
    Thanks
    Noam

    hi,
    in MyFaces there is an example using JSF and Tiles.
    MyFaces provides a custom ViewHandler faciltity.
    see http://sourceforge.net/projects/myfaces
    hope that helps.

  • SOA Suite 11g Clustering error/oracle bug ?

    Hi, i got several experiment to implement soa suite 11g clustering, in my company.. at this moment we still use development mode in our application server. now i'm trying to get into production and also i want cluster the server.. here is the chronology what i do.
    i got 3 server :
    my plan is
    server #1 become an proxy server, let say the name is soa_proxy
    server #2 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server1
    server #3 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server2
    so i start install & configure it (applications is running under Windows Server 2003)
    1.*soa_proxy*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
    - Create Repository with RCU (oracle 10g database)
    2.*soa_server1*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
    3.*soa_server2*
    - Installing WebLogic server
    - Installing SOA
    after installation finished, then i create domain in soa_proxy server let say it name 'MyDomain', then i assign the soa_server1 and soa_server2 in cluster node named 'MyCluster', also i assign the soa_proxy server as a HTTP Proxy Server.. i'm following the instructions just like this link Link: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e13925/config_screens.htm#CJAEABGD]
    all the installation seems good, but when i try to deploy my composite application into the proxy server 'soa_proxy' with JDev, i got error like this
    Image: !http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2122/error2z.jpg!
    and when i go to Http://hostname:7001/em
    i just see my composite deployed only in 'soa_server2'.
    UPDATE : well, now the error was gone when deploying. but we still got little odd result,
    when i deploy with jdev, it still fine, until i go to the enterprise manager. yess still.. my composite only deplyed in 'soa_server1'. i got some reference that we can copy the domain directory in soa_proxy and then paste into the server that not yet been deployed before. its seems oke..
    i've been thinking, how if i got 10 node of cluster? 50 node of cluster ? should i copy the directory just like that ?? is there another charmed way to do it???
    can somebody help me with this simple case?
    regards
    Wildan

    =======
    here is my last trial to deploy the cluster environment, then i just got the same issues, our team here think thats the issues causing by oracle bug in code behind. for reminder what i do last experiment
    1. we deploy/configure the domain (admin console,cluster node) then starting up all the services smoothly without no issues & as we saw in the console monitor we can see the cluster is syncronizing.
    2. then we create simple composite.
    3. we try to deploy the composite to the cluster domain, and what we got is the composite only deployed in one cluster node.
    let me describe to clear it,
    * first trial, when we deploy the composite, here is what we got in em console
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
    in JDev we also saw this message (the project CompositeLabTest Deploy Process is skipped), some kind like that
    * second time trial, we try to shut the SoaServer2 down, then restart it, what we got in em console
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
    *[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
    [+] CompositeLabTest
    . so until today my soa suite 11g clustering experience is never going good practice.. any of you may had experience with clustering too, how that can be done? please respon...
    thanks

    Hi there.
    Me too I have a similar problem with cluster deployment.
    I have two different domains in two different phisical machine on the same LAN.
    These domains are equals and the sole difference is regarding the IP configuration:
    domain 1
    machine 172.0.0.1
    soaadmin 172.0.0.1
    soa1 172.0.0.2
    soa1 172.0.0.3
    domain 2
    machine 172.0.1.1
    soaadmin 172.0.1.1
    soa1 172.0.1.2
    soa1 172.0.1.3
    When I try to deploy a new composite from the EM this fails (it remains in waiting for a response like the followed)
    <Jun 18, 2010 10:42:00 AM CEST> <Warning> <org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.context.RequestContextImpl> <BEA-000000> <Could not find partial trigger idArchiveFileBrowserDialog from RichInputText[UIXEditableFacesBeanImpl, id=idArchiveLoc]>
    Processing sar=/tmp/dir2448127768139530528tmp/sca_SOAComposite1_rev1.0.jar
    Adding sar file - /tmp/dir2448127768139530528tmp/sca_SOAComposite1_rev1.0.jar
    Creating HTTP connection to host:172.0.0.2, port:10002
    What I checked:
    In multicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request to all soa servers in the LAN (even in that one that aren't configurated in his domain)
    In unicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request only to the soa2 (domain1) server but it remain in waiting for a response for all the time.
    What it is strange is that if I stop the domain2 the request can be performed and my composite is deployed in both the servers.
    Any idea about this strange behaviour?
    N.B.
    I'm not using Coherence.

  • SOA Suite on Vista

    I'm a developer using the SOA suite and I've just got a new powerful laptop with window vista ultimate on which I'd like to install SOA. On installation I get an version check error from the installer.
    When is the SOA Suite going to be release for Vista? rough ball park figure would be great.
    As far as I'm aware I currently have two options
    1) try runInstaller -ignoresysprereqs .....
    (No support or If it will work)
    2) Or run in VMware and install winxp then run soa in it.
    (Real pain and then possible performance issues)
    http://oracle.anilpassi.com/install-vmware-xp-for-oracle-soa-suite.html
    Note: This is not the production system but a development system
    What is the best option, I'm leaning towards option 1 but will it actually work?

  • Best way to inject EJB's in Struts 2

    Hi all,
    I'd like to ask you what do you think is the best way to inject EJB's in Struts 2 Actions (and perhaps other struts classes such as type converters).
    I've read and implemented both a Struts 2 Interceptor and used CDI. About CDI I've read there's a discussion whether the injected resource should be a private field or injected through the constructor which would help testing.
    Personally I seem to prefer CDI as it looks a bit simpler after you are familiar a bit with the technology.
    What is your preferred solution and why?

    Make sure you are using JDeveloper with a "regular Oracle DB" and not Oracle XE - Oracle XE doesn't have support for JPublisher.
    And make sure you are trying to invoke this from the database navigator window and not from the connection manager of your application.
    Anton - I think you are mixing JPublisher with something else - maybe with Java stored procedures?
    JPublisher just creates a JDBC wrapper that calls the functions in the DB - it doesn't run inside the DB so I don't get your point about the mini JVM?
    So it basically does exactly what you recommended: "access PL/SQL procedures from java directly?"

  • Misc. questions about Oracles SOA software

    Hello,
    I am a computer science student at the Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany and i'm writing my master thesis about serviceoriented architectures.
    Amongst other products i plan to present what oracle has to offer for SOA. But i'm missing some information, which i couldn't find at the website. I hope somebody can help me with my questions:
    1) Is it correct that you only need the Application Server and the SOA Suite for a basic SOA setup? And the SOA Suite is included in the Enterprise Edition of the Application Server?
    2) The SOA Suite contains the BPEL Process Manager. I just want to know which version of BPEL this tool supports: BPEL4WS 1.0, 1.1, WS-BPEL (2.0)?
    3) In my thesis i describe several standards that help with serviceoriented architectures. I want to check if these standards are implemented and if they are, in which product, which version and how extensively? These standards are:
    - WS-Policy, WS-Adressing
    - JBI (Java Business Integration)
    - SCA/SDO (Service Component Architecture/Service Data Objects)
    - WS-CDL (Web Service Choreography Description Language)
    Are there other important (open) standards i didn't mention (other than the real basic stuff, WSDL, SOAP etc)?
    4) What tools does Oracle provide for testing the services and processes?
    5) What support does Oracle provide for new customers, that are building their first SOA?
    Every help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are an IT decision maker belonging to any of these verticals, SOA India 2007 (IISc, Bangalore, Nov 21-23 2007) presents a unique opportunity to gather cutting-edge business and technical insights on SOA and other related areas such as BPM, BPEL, Enterprise 2.0, SaaS, MDM, Open Source, and more.
