Import 3.1 apex themes to 3.0

Hi friends,
I am using Apex 3.0 and i want to use the themes which is available with Apex 3.1.
So is it possible to do an export and import 3.1 themes to 3.0 ??
Regards,
Kalesh.

Edit your application, and then click on Import/Export > Export > Select the Themes tab and then choose the Theme to export.
Repeat the above process for importing, but choose Import.

  • Skillbuilders Modal Page on IE8 with an IE6 compatible Apex theme

    Hi,
We have been using Theme 13 for quite some time now - I'm aware it's not the best theme in the world to use but with the number of application pages we have now it will take a long time to upgrade them to a newer theme.
Recently we implemented the Skillbuilders modal page with more than a little help from Dan McGhan and it looks amazing, using any Apex theme, when using IE9, Chrome, Firefox etc. For some reason, when using IE8, we are experiencing strange behaviour.
The modal box is not showing the Close button and the right and bottom sides are hidden from view inside a parent div. This is a known issue with the jquery ui dialog, but I was hoping someone might have come up with a workaround to make it show correctly.
If you visit [url http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=62488:2:0:::::]this example with IE8 and click on the names, it doesn't display correctly.
Can anyone help? We know switching themes to a non-IE6 compatible one works but I would like to fix this without changing stuff to that extent.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards, Pete

    Pete,
The page templates for the main page and the modal page are missing DTDs so the browser is running in quirks mode. Try adding the HTML5 DTD as it's the simplest:
<!DOCTYPE html>Note that this may cause other parts of the template to "break". These can be fixed but depending on the severity it may cost a lot of time to fix.

  • Problem with EXPORT IMPORT PROCESS in ApEx 3.1

    Hi all:
I'm having a problem with the EXPORT IMPORT PROCESS in ApEx 3.1

    Hi,
This issue seems to have been around for a while:
    Re: Error importing file
I've had similar issues and made manual changes to the file to get it to install correctly. In my case, I got:

Well, for FCP to see this file structure and recognize it, you need to download the Canon XF Log and Transfer plugin...
    http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0040354.asp?model=
    >I don't have the original clips on the card.
Meaning that they didn't back up the full card structure?  Lordy...very few shooters do this and it is maddening.  If you don't have the full card structure, even with the plugin, FCP cannot log and transfer.
As for ClipWrap2...that should work.  Do you have the right files?

No you do not need to delete the current version and no you do not import anything
just backup your iPhoto library and upgrade  the iPhoto application will upgrade your existing library when you launch it - No importing involved (never iomport an iPhoto library into an iPhoto library)

I have imported all photos and videos from my iPhone 5S into Aperture ver.3.4.5 and now cannot find them. I thought I could open a panel showing all imports and merely list them chronologically, but I don't see how to do this.  There are over 1800 photos and about 100 videos, any help to locate where they've gone would be appreciated.

Try to search with a Smart Album for photos and videos taken with an iPhone:
File > New > Smart Album:
Add an EXIF rule fro the "Add Rule" drop down menu: EXIF
and set it to "Camera Model includes iPhone".
Set the scope of the search to "Library"
If there are any iPhone images or videos in your library at all, this search should find them.  Then ctrl-click any of the items and select "Show in Project" from the contextual menu.
Generally, Aperture should be showing your last import in the "Last Import" smart album in the "recent" section". And the "projects" view can be sorted by date, so you should see your recent imports.
You may want to check all search fields, if searches are active.

This is a big topic and it's not really possible to cover it in the format of a forum post.
Developing a complete theme requires a good knowledge of HTML and CSS (and increasingly of JavaScript and a JS framework like jQuery). It's beyond the scope of this forum to provide information on the basics of HTML and CSS, and/or web and UI design in general.
See this classic Cloning your Corporate UI with HTML DB blog post (HTML DB was the former name of APEX).
Before going further you should be familiar with the documentation relating to the use of themes, templates and CSS in APEX: Oracle® Application Express Application Builder User's Guide, Chapter 11: Managing Themes and Templates
Once you get started, if you have specific questions relating to the inclusion in APEX of particular HTML, CSS, JS frameworks, or components then those are the questions it is appropriate to ask here (after consulting the documentation and searching the forum and web for prior relevant discussions, and according to the guidelines in the FAQ and sticky threads).
With APEX we're fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with the issue, which we can then see at first hand.

  • Export and Import data in APEX

I would like to know how to export the data from a table (6000 rows) and then I would like to import the data to another table. So I need to know how to do that process.. it's like to take a picture of the data in the old table and put them into the new table which it has new data.... so I can't just copy and paste...
    Thanks for your help... regards

Dates do not have formats in the database(they are NOT saved as strings in the DB), but when you display them as string or export them then it has a format(coz its just a bunch of characters).
The problem that you are facing is that the _date string in the csv file could not be converted by the database automatically into a date with its current date format settings(of the session).
You need to set the date format of the session before you do the csv file import to the date format of the any date column strings in the file OR better match it with the date format of the client with which you exported the data.
Set the same Date format before exporting as well as before importing.
If its SQL Developer, you should be able to set it in Preferences(think its shown in that demo video)
Do the same before importing too.
Make sure that the datafile date column strings match the format of the importing session.
If you want to pro grammatically set the date format use something like
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-YY HH24.MI.SS';By the way, I think you should have asked this question in the SQL PLSQL forum, since it isn't particularly related to the Apex.
Pls update your forum handle to something more friendlier than "user13344939"

  • Error importing data via Apex

    Hi,
I have an apex application on a 10g XE machine, and am in the process of migrating
this to an 11g machine (same version of apex: 3.2.1).
With a dozen or more "Apex" users, I first was a little disgruntled to find that there wasn't
a readily-available tool to migrate all the users across (add that to the "wish list" presuming there
isn't an easy user-migration mechanism, please).
Then I took the DDL across to the new platform, which worked quite well.
My next task was to move the data, in prior preparation for moving the applications.
On the old machine I performed a "data unload" to a separate XML file on each of my three tables
    (its not a huge application).
On the new machine, I tried a "data load" into one table, and all I got was the unimaginative
    error message shown below:
ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing LPX-00222: error received from SAX callback function ORA-01008: not all variables bound ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function ORA-24801: illegal parameter value in OCI lob function
Of course, all these error messages are really informative... I can work out (not) from the error message
how to solve the problem... !
The table I'm moving has a dozen rows in it. The table has two CLOB columns in it and two BLOB columns.
If I cannot easily migrate the data, there's no point in moving the applications. Time to ask the forum for
    help please.
Various attempts of backing up the whole schema with "exp" and "expdp" and even "SQL Developer" proved futile, now
it looks that I can add "apex" to that list too.
Any help appreciated; thanks in advance.
    Mungo

    Thankyou for your kind reply.

First of all, apex users are migrated when you export and import the workspace.I'm guessing you have to be the Apex Administrator to do that? On my hosted source
application the highest privilege I enjoy is a single Workspace Administrator - nothing higher.
Hence the need to transfer the data "the long way".
    >
Secondly, in my own experience XML data exports are good for simple cases, reasonable amount data (less than 100.000 rows) otherwise you may incur in a variety of problems like insufficient memory, table loading order because of failing constraints and trigger based rules. The XML file I am attempting to import is 928Kbytes in size, and comprises about twelve records with photographs stored in BLOBs
    to bulk out this file.
    >
Thirdly, i do not see why exp or expdp should not work, i'm using them all the time, so may be you want to be more specific on this.
As I understand it "expdp" needs a Directory object... that would require raising a ticket with the hosting company and asking for
them to create one (a step too far, at the moment ;-)
From failing human memory, the "exp" command seemed to store the tablespace where the tables were stored in. When I then went to
import from the resultant exported file, the tablespaces were different on the new machine. So I gave up on "exp".
I thought that the relatively new "SQL Developer" would come to my rescue, but it also has problems with CLOB and BLOB columns.
All in all it seems to be more work than I had bargained for: all I want to do is "lift" the application off one machine and drop it on
to the new machine, but Oracle seems to want me to spend at least three days to workaround all the silly "features".
Comments borne on frustration; forgiveness requested...

  • Import files into APEX

    Hi all,
I have using apex 3.01 and I was
    create table_one
    (id number, date1 varchar2(255), date2 varchar2(255))
and I was creating APP1 with 1.form when user can input dates
into table_one in date1 and date2 (ID nextsequence from 1) and
2 page is report (select id, date1,date 2 from table_one). All working good
and stable, at that moment ID is 2020 (as next sequence)
So I have 2020 records in table_one, and my problem is how insert
300 records from rec.txt? (I can manually put into form one all this 300 file as
one way, other is import over txt or cvs-but need truncate 2020 records whats not allowed!)
Is there any sample procedure for import records from external files, adding it on 2020 existing(without change existing 2020 records)?
    Thanks all,

We do have access to the database itself, but we currently receive data via a number of DBF files which are exported to a directory.
We have an Access application that imports the DBF files (presumably using ODBC) and we're looking to replace this with an Apex solution. Ideally we want to analyze the data in the files then present messages to the user based on the file contents.
I'm not familiar with Heterogeneous Services but I will do some digging next week - if we can pass messages from Heterogeneous Services back to Apex for display on screen then this might do the job. Or alternatively convert the files automatically to CSV and import them.

  • Application Import broken in Apex 3.2.1.00.10?

Hiya, trying to import my app into a new installation of Apex. I choose the file type, choose the encoding (utf-8), choose the file, click "next" and it says:
    *1 error has occurred*
File must be selected to upload.
(also, I cannot login using Internet Explorer as it always returns to the login screen without any error messages, but Firefox and Chrome I can login in, just that the import will not work. )
    What's up?

Hi, I don't know the DAD (we're using mod_owa to boot so..)
But it appears that there is a 32 kb limitation in file uploads in mod_owa, and that's causing it. I don't know for sure since I do not administer the server and have no access to it in any way other than the apex web gui.
But I assume it is also possible to run the application import script through sqlplus?
As for the IE login problem, that was caused by the host name having an underscore. IE would not accept the cookie :)

  • Library project errors and imports of projects using them

So this is something that I have put up with in FB for a long time now, but I decided to try doing some research today to see if there is a workaround as it is very annoying. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything.
I attempted to file a bug/feature request, but it turns out that for some unknown reason FB is the only Adobe application that gives a link to another url (http://bugs.adobe.com/flex/) and, today at least, the link is dead so I have to post here instead.
The problem is with library projects (which I love by the way). I use them a great deal and for more than just creating standalone APIs. As do many others, I like to have the core of many of my cross-platform projects in a library so that I can create other ‘harness’ projects for different runtimes and use the same bulk code. This way I can just write code in each master project that is particular to that runtime be it air or web or whatever - this is a great bit of functionality that I would really miss were it not there.
As a result of this workflow however, I am often working in the library project directly in order to update all versions of a project. The problem arises when there is an error in the library project. When this happens, all the projects reading from the library lose all linkages to the swc and as a result the problem tab fills up with hundreds of problems that don’t exist, because as far as those projects are now concerned the swc no longer exists.
Now I understand why this happens but surely FB could be made to understand what is going on and override (what I assume is) the compiler’s behaviour, and just not display these errors.
This whole thing is exacerbated by (and may not even be that big a problem where it not for) the fact that I am forced to turn off 'build automatically' due to the 4.7 crash bug that has been reported here numerous times. Because of this I tend to write large chunks of code between each compile so I don't instantly know what has broken.
Please save the feature that I enjoy so much by either getting FB to deal with the situation better or by fixing the crash bug so I can use ‘build automatically’ again… or god forbid… fix both!! I can dream. J
If anyone has any good tips regarding this please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    James

Can I then delete the project from the hard drive (as it's now in the library?) or will that delete the whole thing forever?
That depends on how you did import the projects.  If your images are referenced they might still be stored in the previous projects, but if your library is managed, then it will be save to delete the projects you already imported.

  • I just installed Elements 13. When I import images, most of them do not load as thumbnails, but rather as gray rectangles. When I double click on them, the image appears and can be edited. How do I get the thumbnail images to all appear?

    My System:
iMac Software: OSX Yosemite v. 10.10.3
    Processor: 2.9GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 8GB 1600MHz DDR3

If you are importing large numbers of images, it takes PSE a while to generate the thumbnails. So you might want to just wait while it does its thing (which can be hours if we're talking thousands of pics). If it's just  few images, select them in the organizer, then press F5 and see if that forces the  thumbnails to generate.
