@import css problem

Hi,
I'm trying to import an external css to the main CSS.
master.css
@import url(style.css);
@import url(layout.css);
It doesn't get it, and I'm having a huge CSS file with everything mixed, and I'd like to distribute the stuff.

I've tried the following options:
@import url("archive.css"); --> not working
@import "archive.css"; --> not working
@import archive.css; --> does not compile the project
<style...>@import ... </style> --> not working
I'll explain myself better.
I have a project and I've made a CSS file wich modifies the whole project visual design.
What I need is to redisrtibute the contents of this huge file in small files like "layout.css", "forms.css", "content.css", ... and call just one file "master.css" wich has got all the css @imports.
For example:
MASTER.CSS
@import url("layout.css");
@import url("forms.css");
@import url("content.css");
The problem is that it doesn't do the @import. It's like if MASTER.CSS was empty.
Just in case, I've included the css files in the trinidad-skins.xml, but even though it doesn't work.

Imported CSS - rewriter doesn't rewrite backgroung-image: url(...)

Hello,
Has anyone run into this problem? Documentation says
url() inside CSS gets rewritten but it doens't work. My imported CSS has something like inside:
background-image:url('/images/all_sites/fade_brown_bkgrnd.jpg');
and it stays the same when passed through rewriter.
Tried various rules to no avail. Anybody ran into this and found a work-around?
Help is appreciated!

We are having the same problem. Do you get the problem solved? and how?
SUN PTS just told us, there is no such bug fix as mentioned, there is workaround, however. (that is, inline the background-image portion in CSS to HTML BODY). We really don't like such workaround since it involves a lot of code changed in a large web application.

Import CSS file locks up Eclipse

Hi;
I was following the JSF Tutorial and it got to the point where I am supposed to drag Import CSS File from the tag libraries window to the design window for register.jsp.
So I pressed the LMB down, dragged and got the O with a slash through it cursor. No matter where I drag the cursor it has the O. I released the LMB and still the O. I can't do anything in Eclipse - it's totally non-responsive.
I then hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the task manager, and then the O goes away and I can edit again in Eclipse. But I have tried 4 times to drag "Import CSS File" and each time it goes to the O and no response until I CTRL-ALT DEL. So needless to say, I'm stuck at this point in the tutorial.

          }So what happens is this: if the user hovers over the "+logon: username+", a little box pops up with some further information (the item &APP_CODES_DISP.) and the logout-link. Below this link, the Navigation bar starts. So while the box pops up, it covers a part of the region below, what its meant to do.
The promlem is, that this doesnt work in Internet Explorer properly, when its launched from apex. Instead, the popup-box is displayed behind the region below. In Mozilla, as always, everything worls fine. This problem ocured already, when I opened the html-file from desktop, but I fixed that by putting the z-index-attribute in. Only now, in Apex, its still now working in IE. I am not that of an expert in css. I have tried different XHTML declarations in the header, all no difference.
The current one:<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">This might be a bit of a tricky issue, so I dearly hope, someone can help me. (Similar problem like the other threat I started recently here where the round-corner attribute is not working in IE-Apex, but this time its a bit more vital. :) )

This turns out not to be an APEX-issue, as I tought first, but rather a css-problem. Maybe therefore I'm in the wrong forum, but maybe someone can help me anyway.
I have created two pages with the relevant element: (login with test/test please) one page with standard tabs and another with my own html-navigation. Now Internet Explorer has the option "Compatibility View" which in our company is activated by default. On page 1 it makes no difference, but on the second, with Compatibility View on, the drop-down box apeares behind my selfimplemented navigation bar. WHY IN GODS NAME DOES THIS HAPPEN??
I have posted the same question in a german web-developer forum (here) also, because its quite urgent that I solve this, and as I mentioned above, many colleagues work with IE.
So if anyone here is a css-IE9-expert... :)

edit: ok, its solved. The userpanel-div needed a "z-index:1;" attribute for IE. :)

Yes another strange IE CSS problem

Hi all,
I was wondering if some kind soul could help me work out
hopefully my last CSS problem. If you look at my site:

in IE you will see a light blue line at the bottom of the left hand
side navigation menu. In Firefox and other browsers it isn't there,
they are behaving, but I can't work out why IE is showing that
there.

Its on you background image?

IE is probably making a container slightly higher for some
reason and
therefore shows more of te background image.
Just use a 'dedicatted' background image minus the blue line

I am having problems importing some CDs into iTunes on a laptop with Windows 8. Most CDs import without problem. The ones I can't import can be imported into iTunes with Windows 7. Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware). Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths. For example:
Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad. In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result. Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind. The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

Import CSS into InDesign?

My company wants to move about 200 books that are about 250-500 pages into InDesign. They are currently stored in a database in XML format and we use CSS and PrinceXml to publish. I am able to import the XML into InDesign, but I haven't found a way to import the CSS styles. Is that possible?

As far as I know, there is no ability to import CSS into InDesign. When you export as EPUB, you have the option of using a CSS stylesheet to format the EPUB file.
It's been explained to me that there are too many differences between the way InDesign creates styles from the way CSS works to do such a thing. For example, in CSS you can define placement on the HTML or XHTML page in a way that's not possible in InDesign.

Possible CSS problem?

I am in the process of making a website for a friend, when I ran into what looks like a css problem.
I purchased the css file in a template from a guy who does tutorials on youtube, I have contacted him on several occasions but his customer service is pretty awful and he hasn't replied to any contact.
When using a mobile or tablet to view the website the header and footer area is pushed to the left. (please see attached image)
I added 100% to the following containers but still it never changed them.

If I change the widths to 1000px then it sorts it out for the mobile view but then the website on a pc/laptop is distorted.

There's nothing wrong with your site. That's exactly what fixed-width, centered layouts do in smaller displays. They move to the left. If you want a responsive web site that adjusts to mobile and tablet device widths, you need a Responsive Layout.
Look at FluidGrid Layouts in Dreamweaver CS6 & CC. Or use one of the following Responsive Frameworks to jump start your project.

Importing tga problem

I have several targa image sequences from a client. FCP (6.0.5) will import some but not others. The only difference I can find is that under "kind" in the get info window some are "tga image" and the others are "adobe photoshop targa file". The latter imports no problem, while the former give an error: "File Error 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or have run into this issue?
FWIW, I checked the fils in photoshop and they all have the same modes. They also all have the same file sequence naming structure.

Actually forgot to explain that the error I mentioned above occurs when I try to import just 1 of the targa files individually. If I try to import a sequence the number of errors changes to match the number of targas in the sequence. Sorry about the miscommunication. For the record, there are no other files inside the sequence folder(s) - just the targas.
Still haven't figured this out yet. Shake, Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop all open/import the files, but FCP will not.

Css problems, pls?

     I'm really confused by the function of the 'css' in different places.
     1. Project Manager -> Style Sheets -> *.css
         This is the style that all my topics adopt? And only one *.css can show up here? What if i want to use another one?
     2. Single Source Layouts -> Microsoft HTML Help ->Properities -> Additional Options -> Apply to all Topics -> css
          How does this function? What's the differece between this and Style sheets in the project manager?
     3. File -> Project Settings -> Import -> CSS for Style Mapping.
     Can someone be kind enough to explain these to me? Thanks A LOT.

I am no expert but lonely like you and here's my twopenceworth:
Project Manager -> Style Sheets -> *.css
The Default CSS is created at project start.
In addtion, when you import or link a book, a css file is created for each book file.
I read somewhere that it is worhtwhile creating a dummy topic just to produce a CSS file called RHStyleMapping to use as the single CSS for all topics as you mention in step 2.
The RHStyleMapping.css file is created when you add a new topic at the start of the project and link the new topic to the RHStyleMapping.css.
When you create the new topic, select the Appearance tab in the New Topic dialog and select RHStyleMapping.css as the CSS for the project.
Apply the CSS to all topics as in your step 2 below:
     2. Single Source Layouts -> Microsoft HTML Help ->Properities -> Additional Options -> Apply to all Topics -> css
         Applies to all topics in the project and consolidates all your settings in one place.
     3. File -> Project Settings -> Import -> CSS for Style Mapping.
I think this specifies which CSS is used to convert your documents when you link or import them. The radio buttons below specifiy how you do this although i dont quite understand what the settings by reference and copy and link do . Perhaps someone else can offer an explanation.
In the Import > Framemaker Document, click Edit to load Conversion Settings. When you select a style the corresponding Robohelp style displays as [Source] meaning the source style that imported with the Frame document but you can select a Robohelp style and add you own. All changes to existing styles and additions are recorded in the CSS you assigned to all topics.

CSS problems in IE

I am working on a project for a web programming class. The
page I
created works perfectly in Firefox, Opera, and Safari, but
not in IE :-(
I explained this to my professor who thankfully said that it
was ok if
it didn't work in IE (The project involves other stuff, like
database
access, that is more important than trying to work around
browser bugs.)
However, it would be nice if it also worked in IE. If anyone
could offer
a few pointers to get my page to display properly in IE, I
would be
grateful.

There appears to be 2 problems:
1) Borders for table rows and cells do not show up.
2) Cells in the table above the graph do not appear to retain
the proper
width
Oh yeah, one more thing. The javascript is also borked in IE,

scrolling effect does not work. I've been using Firebug for
javascript
debugging in Firefox. What debugger is normally used with IE?

Ok. Fixed it. I'm not sure why the validator was complaining
about the
color "orange" though. Eric Meyer's book says that it is a
valid color
in CSS 2.1.

Import settings problem HELP!!!!

I am currently switching my itunes from my desktop to my laptop by burning multiple CDs. Just resently I updated itunes to 7.5 on my laptop and ever since, when im tring to import the burned CDs, itunes gives me a massage saying:
"The current encoder settings for bit rate and sample rate are not valid for this file"
The itunes on my desktop is also version 7.5 and the settings are the same for importing and burning as my laptop. I only have 3 more CDs to import and i'm done, so some advise for fixing this import prblem would be much appreciated.

Hi, I can't recall now how I moved the test websites, but I checked the Site Definition path and it was correct (for the new location) but the links were broken somehow. I never got to the bottom of it and gave up in the end and moved them back to my desktop
Can you 'talk me through' exactly what you feel I need to do to resolve the problem I have?
The website folder was called Test_01 and was located on my desktop. This folder housed all my html, css etc files. I exported the site definition using Site/Manage Sites in DW. I then copied the desktop including the folder Test_01 etc onto an external HDD.
After I re-installed all my software etc., I imported theTest_01 site definition via DW so my first line in the Files panel is currently:
+ (Folder icon) Site - Test_01 (C: Users/ etc etc to my desktop)
I then copied the whole folder Test_01 from my external HDD and placed it within the above so the complete view I currently have is:
+ (Folder icon) Site - Test_01 (C: Users/ etc etc to my desktop)
    - (Folder icon) Test_01
        + (Folder Icon) css
        + (Folder Icon) html
        etc etc
    diskdata.lnk
    SIW.lnk
I understand why I have the *.lnk files from my desktop showing. If I delete them, they are deleted them from the desktop itself. Surely DW shouldn't be showing the rest of my desktop as part of the Test_01 website?
Also, should I copy the files out of Test_01 rather than the whole folder so that I don't get Test_01 at the top level AND the second level?

Importing Flash Problems

Hey y'all,
I am currently working on a website in DreamWeaver CS6. I imported a Flash Professional CS6 slideshow via the little "import swf" button; however, in Dreamweaver, the slideshow never plays. At first it had a popup saying that something "harmful" was referring me to macromedia and Flash Player stopped it. I could allow it by hitting the "Settings" button. Well, I hit the settings button and nothing happened. So, I went into my code and got rid of the following line:

That fixed the pop up problem, but then on Dreamweaver it just kept saying that I needed to update Flash.
I have Flash 11.5, so that doesn't make any sense.
I went into the non-live design view. By clicking on the box where my flash should be playing, all of the properties popped up in the bottom tab like they were supposed to. I can even play the slideshow in that little tab, and it works just fine. It also correctly plays in my Flash program.
So, I've uploaded it to the internet, as I am completely stumped.

Are you aware that Flash content is invisible to the world's most popular web devices -- iPhones, iPads, iPod Touch, newer Androids, etc... as well as others who have not installed the latest Flash player & plug-ins for their browsers?
Best advice, don't use Flash on the web. Switch to jQuery which works in all modern devices.

Import purchase - problem with delivery costs

Hi guys,
In case of import purchase, we are normally giving 3 to 4 types of delivery costs (like freight,agency charges etc). If there is no transaction done against the PO, we are able to either change or add new delivery cost to the Purchase Order. But if we try to make changes or add one more condition type (related to delivery cost), after preparing inbound delivery/goods receipt against the PO, it is not allowing. Do we need to make any configuratin changes for this to happen.
Please suggest us the way out for this problem.

Directory Server 6.2 upgrade to 6.3: import LDIF problem

Hi all,
I have tried upgrading my Directory Server 6.2 to version 6.3 because of the database integrity issues as stated in:

I have followed the steps defined in this article:
1. Shut down each directory server instance, as described in Starting, Stopping, and Restarting a Directory Server Instance.
2. Perform an LDIF export of the database, as described in Backing Up to LDIF.
3. Install the hotfix for bug 6642430 on Directory Server 6.2, or upgrade your Directory Server 6.2 instance to Directory Server 6.3 once Directory Server 6.3 is available for download (early April). You will need to login to Sunsolve in order to see this bug description.
But when importing the LDIF export, I got the following error:
[17/Dec/2008:14:44:08 +0100] - import ec: WARNING: Skipping entry "sunPortalAdminPortalDomainPortalServerInstanceMonitoringID=Monitoring,sunPortalAdminPortalDomainPortalServerInstanceID=sol10portal-80,sunPortalAdminPortalDomainPortalID=portal1,sunPortalAdminPortalDomainID=defaultDomain,o=example" whichIt's the only information I get about why the entry was skipped (I did not forget to copy the part after 'which', there was no information there :-))
This resulted in a missing Portal instance configuration and thus I got a 'configuration error' when surfing through the gateway to the portal.
I have also tried: manually importing that entry, which resulted in a 'Object does not exist' error. I have tried copying the whole tree from another backup with identical setup, which wasn't working either.
Did anyone experience the same problems before? Did I do something wrong or is there a workaround for this?
Second question: What is the exact reason why a export and import is necessary? Or is it only necessary if the database is already corrupt? Is there a way to check that?

The entry was not imported most likely because it's parent isn't in the database yet. Are entries above this in another backend ? If so try importing that backend first. Also, that dn is so long, that it exhausted the buffer which is used to write messages in the access log. This is why, there's nothing after "which".
What is the exact reason why a export and import is necessary? Or is it only necessary if
the database is already corrupt? Is there a way to check that?The database corruption could be silent. So a binary backup/restore when going from 6.2 to 6.3 is not recommended and the LDIF route must be used.
