above statement errors out " syntax error at 'production'
How does maxl recognize linux production machine path?

Before running the maxl, did you check whether you can get to the file using the path that you specified?
You can mount that shared drive to a local drive and then access the file as local, or create a soft link and do that same.

Can I use Dreamweaver to import data into specific fields on a website?

We need to build a website that will allow us to import data from an existing database, into specific fields on website (desktop and mobile). Is it possible to do that in Dreamweaver?

Ben answered your question. You asked if one CAN use DW to call data. Just understand that it isn't necessary to use DW for this, and there are good reasons not to.
Using a plug-in or data behaviors allows you to get up and running quickly, but they are like training wheels on a bicycle. Eventually they cripple your capabilities and you have to go back to the beginning to learn how to do things right, which means making the connections and writing the code yourself. Why not just do it the right way from the start?
If you script the database connections and queries yourself, you can still work within DW.
You did not specify which kind of server, database or scripting language you plan to use. The typical configuration is MySQL database and PHP scripting on Linux.

70-Permission denied while importing data in a specific period for one location

Hi,
I've been working with FDM without any troubles for the past months, however when we try to import data to period (2013-01-01) in a specific location we keep on getting the 70-Permission denied error.
We've checked that the application has it's proper UNC path and the strange thing is that it all works perfectly fine with all the other periods in all location but not this period on this one location, we simply can't import data.
I have deleted the period and created it again but we keep on getting the error. I am about to delete the only location where we get the error and then create it again to see if this solves the problem.
Could anybody give me a clue of what could be the problem?

Has the location / period been locked? From memory i think the option to lock / unlock is in the tools menu option, based on location / period / category.

MAXL to IMPORT DATA

Hi All,
Can you please help me in writing maxl script for the following scenario?
I have ASO cube, I need to export level 0 data from it and then load it back to the cube.
In between them, I will have to update the dimensions. I know maxl scripting for loading data, dimensions, exporting, importing but
When I export lvl0 data to a location, if it writes to multiple files [2gb each]. How can I write maxl to import data with these multiple files. {cache: I dont know how many files it will export}

You could simply restructure 'in place' - you don't necessarily have to export / clear / restructure / reload.
But if you do go the reload route look at this thread for some tips from Robert and Glenn on handling an unknown number of export files - Importing spanned export files in MaxL
In BSO the 'import data' statement will now handle wildcards, e.g. 'export*.txt' but this functionality hasn't been added to the ASO version of the command (at least per the documentation; I haven't actually tested it).
Glenn, yeah - lack of column export can be a major PITA. I've wasted more than a few hours of my life working through renamed members one-by-one in dozens of export files...

BICA import data only for specific period

Hello,
when using BI connector (BICA) and importing data, is it possible to set for which period (month) to import data?
Because now I see that it deletes all the data and imports for all months, which I think is not performance wise.

Also, why connection between PAS and BW is kept, even after both schema and data import into PAS?
If I break connection, I can see from logs that DAT171:Unable to do drillthrough operation is being spammed due to connection failure, so it seems it checks for connection frequently.

For the above simply i can write esscmd or Maxl script for importing files .

ls * is lists all the files in the directory. If you want to be more specific and if you yhink tat your data folder may contain more files then you can use "ls *.txt" if your file extension to load is txt.
Well I haven't tested this as I am on vacation...So you can just follow the similar way.

SSIS 2012 is intermittently failing with below "Invalid date format" while importing data from a source table into a Destination table with same exact schema.

We migrated Packages from SSIS 2008 to 2012. The Package is working fine in all the environments except in one of our environment.

Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.

data into the table.Any fixed-length data needs to have a specification associated with it that indicates which character position begins a new column and what each column represents. Some also include what datatype should be used for each of those.
If you really want to do this I would suggest that you create a table that you can store the file spec in. It would probably have columns for field name, start position, length or end position, datatype and any alias/column name you might want to apply. You would then use this table in a PL/SQL procedure (probably a package with the main processing procedure and various supporting procedures/functions) to read the file into memory, apply the file spec to each line and then do inserts into your table.
Obviously, this is just a concept or strategy. Implementing it will depend on your PL/SQL skills and determination. If you want to pursue this strategy I'm sure you can find some jump-starts by doing a search on the PL/SQL forum.
This may not sound like an answer - but the answer is you need to code it to fit your requirements. Hope that helps.

Based on the error message” Could not allocate a new page for database REPORTING' because of insufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY'. Create the necessary space by dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting
autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup”, we can know that the issue is caused by the there is no sufficient disk space in filegroup 'PRIMARY' for the ‘REPORTING’ database.
To fix this issue, we can add additional files to the filegroup by add a new file to the PRIMARY filegroup on Files page, or setting Autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup to increase the necessary space.

Error occured when importing data from dmp

Hello friends
when i am importing data from dmp file
the following error occured
Please help me to solve this
Error message :
Export file created by EXPORT:V09.02.00 via conventional path
import done in WE8PC850 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
export client uses US7ASCII character set (possible charset conversion)
Import terminated successfully without warnings.

This is not really an error message but a information about possible character conversion from US7ASCII to WE8PC850 which should NOT be an issue since all US7ASCII characters are in most WExxx character sets.

So after analysing this log file, i created
the appropriate drives and folders... as the
import statement doesn't see them.
E:\ORADATA G:\ORDATA etc...
And i started to [b]IMPORT ONE MORE TIME. with:

Import Data/Populate fields in pdf from Excel

I'm not sure if I am using the correct terms, but I would like to set up text fields in a pdf that can import data from specific fields in an excel file. I found the import data form in the properties of the text field, but it will only allow me to select pdf files. Is it possible to import data an excel file to a text field? I would like to do the following
1. create a excel table that includes kids last name, first name, and Grades (Q1, Q2, E1, S1 etc...)
2. I have a pdf form that already has text fields that correspond to the fields mentioned above.
3. Set up the pdf to import the data and generate a page for each student.
I specifically mentioned excel because everyone at my school has excel. However, it would also work if I could design another pdf with a table that I could import data from.
