Import form data - load data from webserver into local Apex Application

Hello Apex-Forum,
I am trying to use apex with Oracle XE for a small hotel reservation software.
Because I have no Oracle Webserver the database runs local. Now I am trying to get the bookings from the website form into my local database.
My question: Is there an easy way to recieve these formulardata by email, web service, as csv,with an db-link from an web mysql db or via UTL_HTTP?
I am not very firm in programming, so I need an easy solution. I think this might be an normal problem, but I found nothing in the forum. My goal is to have a button "refresh" in the application to get the new booking information from the webserver.
Thank you very much for every hint!
Best regards, Moritz
(Sorry for my english )

Hello:
I suggest you take a look at UTL_HTTP. I think it will work for what you want to do. I have provided an example below which retrieves a csv file from a US Fed Govt web site. You can put this block into a page process on your APEX page.
DECLARE
req   utl_http.req;
resp  utl_http.resp;
value VARCHAR2(1024);
BEGIN
  req := utl_http.begin_request('http://www.ofheo.gov/media/hpi/3q08hpi_reg.csv');
  utl_http.set_header(req, 'User-Agent', 'Mozilla/4.0');
  resp := utl_http.get_response(req);
  LOOP
    utl_http.read_line(resp, value, TRUE);
    dbms_output.put_line(value);   ---- do your stuff with the data retrieved
  END LOOP;
  utl_http.end_response(resp);
EXCEPTION
  WHEN utl_http.end_of_body THEN
    utl_http.end_response(resp);
END;varad

  • WMS Data seeding: Import Foundation Data from RMS into WMS

    Hi
    I installed RMS, WMS and SIM 13.
    I loaded test data during my RMS installation and manage to import the data in SIM thanks to the Data seeding scripts.
    But WMS doesn't contain data seeding scripts.
    Before to install RIB, I need a perfect synchronization between these applications.
    So My question is:
    How can I export from RMS the Foundation Data (Item, Supplier, Store, etc.) and export them to WMS?

  • Import/insert data from XML into Oracle database tables?

    Hi. (I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 and Oracle 10g)
    I have been able to export the data from one of my database tables by using a View Object and .writeXML.
    Now, I want to take an xml file that is formatted in the same way as what is spit out by the writeXML and put that info in my database table. I followed online examples and have tried using .readXML like so:
    Element element = XMLDoc.getDocumentElement();
    vo.readXML(element, -1);
    I know it is sort of working, because at first I got an error message that one of the required attributes was missing. So, I added that attribute to my xml file and ran my code. No errors. But, I checked my database, and the new records were not added.
    Is there something I have done wrong? Or is there perhaps something I left out? I also noticed there were several versions of readXML like readFromXML. Which one should I use and how?
    Thanks.

    KUBA, I changed my code to match your example:
    DocumentBuilder db = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder();
    File xmlFile = new File("C:/myfilehere.xml");
    Document doc = db.parse(xmlFile);
    Element element = doc.getDocumentElement();
    vo.readXML(element, -1);
    vo.getDBTransaction().commit();
    I still get no errors, but my database table has no new records.
    Any ideas why?
    Thanks.

  • How to populate data from table into datagrid in form

    hi there. may i know how to populate data from a table into a datagrid? i have created a datagrid in a form using OLE's microsoft datagrid. i'm having problem to populate data from table into the grid. can i know how to do that? thanks

    Not exactly. I want to enter input from form and the user can have all options to choose i.e. HIGH, MEDIUM or so on.
    Suppose, you have option to select HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW and you can see all these options together. You select LOW and when you save, it is saves in the table as a value. So when you view the table again, it will show LOW as active and HIGH and MEDIUM are null.

  • How to load data from Quikbooks into PeopleSoft General Ledger module ?

    Folks,
    Hello.
    My client's data is currently stored in Quikbooks.
    After install PeopleSoft FSCM 9.0, I need to load the data from Quickbooks into PeopleSoft General Ledger module. But I don't know how to use PeopleSoft Integration Broker to integrate with Quikbooks.
    Can any folks tell me how to load data from Quikbooks into PeopleSoft General Ledger module ?

    Hi,
    If the data load is one time process, then you can use PL/SQL or datamover to load the data to PeopleSoft application.
    If you want to load the data in real time, then you need to create In-bound and out-bound nodes to perform the transaction.
    Thanks

  • Importing Data from Excel into Primavera

    Hello:
    I'm trying to import data from an Excel spreadsheet of a given set of columns (i.e. template) into Primavera. I wish to copy the data from Excel into a new activity at the Activity Level and have set up the template already at the Activity Level.
    It is easy to copy and paste data from Primavera into Excel, but it is not straight forward to copy Excel data into Primavera. I believe you have to import the data, but I do not know how to. Is there documentation somewhere that I can access, or is there someone who knows that can help?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can control the activities that are exported with the user of a filter in the template options.
    Go to Modify template options Add a new template or modify the existing
    template. The template contains options for exchanging data with
    Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications. Click Modify to
    customize the selected template
    Select a Subject Area in the Modify Template dialog box to modify its
    options. In the Columns tab, select the fields to export. The available
    options are based on the selected subject area.
    In the Modify Template dialog box, click the Filter tab to select the
    activities you want to export for the selected subject area. If using more
    than one filter, choose to show activities that meet all selection criteria in
    each filter, or to show activities that must meet only one selection criteria
    in each filter. Select the filter(s) to use for the export file. If necessary,
    click Modify to edit the selected user-defined filter. The fields available for
    filtering are based on the selected subject area.
    Have a great day,
    Saryn

  • How do we retrieve data from SO10 into smart form?

    Hello Experts,
    Could you pls help me out in extracting data from SO10 into smartform.And how do we create a check box in a smartform(The check box should be always checked).
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
       You can create Check Box using a Table with 1 cell only with border.
       To get data from SO10 - standard text use:
        CALL FUNCTION 'READ_TEXT'
            EXPORTING
              client                  = sy-mandt
              id                      = ws_id
              language                = ws_language
              name                    = ws_name
              object                  = ws_object
            TABLES
              lines                   = i_tline1
            EXCEPTIONS
              id                      = 1
              language                = 2
              name                    = 3
              not_found               = 4
              object                  = 5
              reference_check         = 6
              wrong_access_to_archive = 7
              OTHERS                  = 8.
          IF sy-subrc <> 0.

  • Import xml data from a variable locations

    Hi,
    Could some please help me with a solution?
    Here's what currently runs on our server. An applications runs and does:
    Create an unique folder
    Copy a fillable, reader extended form into this folder
    Put data in a XML-file (always same filename) and places that in the same folder
    Open the PDF for the user to fill in the details.
    Now, the change I want to make is to import the data from the XML file into the PDF. I used a button on the form using xfa.host.importData(). This fires up a browse-for-file-box so the user can select the correct xml-file. This works!
    However, as the folder from where the PDF opens, is always a different one, the browse-for-file-box opens in the wrong folder. The user does see a XML-file, but that is from a different folder. So, what I wanted is the following:
    The form opens
    The PDF imports the data from the XML file automaticly, without user intervention
    The user finalizes the form and saves it.
    In short: How can I create a variable from the folderlocation where the pdf is opened, and merge that with the xml-filename?
    Hopefully I than can use xfa.host.importData("filename.xml")
    I hope someone can advise me! Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    thanks for your responce. It sure was helpfull to have a look at that discussion. However, that article regards a defined source with a fixed path (xfa.host.importData("/c/path/to/xml/file.xml");)
    There is my problem. I need to determine the path first since that changes every time. Then I want to import that file using code.
    I hope my question is clear. If not, please let me know!
    Regards,
    Erik
    By the way, I also tried opening the same pdf from different folders. Adobe Reader seems to remember where it looked previous for a XML-file. So,if there is a way to set the folder where the browse-for-file-box opens with, that would be great too!
