Import in NWDS

Hi,
we have a Java project on Eclipse and now we want to use the DTR to store the files. What should we do to import the files (or the Project) into NWDS ?
Thx.

Hi,
Plz follow as below:
1.Open NWDS and go Development Configuration perspective.
2.Click on the icon to import the configuration.
3.Choose the remote option from the opened dialog box (in case if you are connecting to remote server)
4.It will prompt you for the username and password.
5.Once you are authenticated, you will see the tracks.
6.Select the track you want to import and click finish.
7.Now, go to the inactive DCs view and select the DC that you want to work on.
8.Open the context menu on the DC, and select create project.
9.Once the project is created, you can go to the web dynpor perspective to work on the DC.
This is what i follow...hope, this will work out for you too...

  • GetRemoteDevelopmentConfigurationError on import from NWDS

    Hello,
For every development configuration I am trying to import from NWDS I get a pop up with this error: getRemoteDevelopmentConfigurationError.
I couldn't find meaningful info at defaultTrace.
I have already tried implementing all the suggestions in
getRemoteDevelopmentConfigurationError and the other threads it points to but it didn't help.
Any ideas what can cause this?

Solved it, but I had to delete not only the track but the buildspaces from CBS as well...

  • Changed web services need to be imported in NWDS mapping

    Hi All
I have to import a web service WSDL in service interfaces of the project in NWDS and use it in a mapping which is in a read web service step in BPM.
The mapping already has a WSDL having different name but same namespace as of the new WSDL
How do I do this? I imported the new WSDL using import WSDL in service interfaces but the mapping is still referrring to the old WSDL even after changing the interface to point to new WSDL in interface tab of the read web service.
I can see the new WSDL in the mapping but when I map source to target, I get the error "expected the old wsdl ns and name but having the new WSDL namespace and name". I believe this is related to the namespace clash. What is the suggested solution for this?
What is the procedure in this kind of situation?
    thx
    mike

    Hi Varun
    Check this thread
Using external jars in Java Mapping jar archive
Add the jar as imported archive and reference it in Functions tab of Message Mapping

  • Project imported into NWDS from NWDI

    hi,
i was able to import ESS buisness package  application from NWDI to NWDS by right clicking on DC and then choosing create project.. i made some changes in leave application in it and have also deployed it on portal...
Now this changed application i want to keep it into my local system only and i dont want to apply this changes back onto NWDI....so that  in future if client demands to revert back the changes which i hv done...i can reimport this same standard application and then deploy it on portal..
i also have one more queries related to this...what is the impact of choosing "Sync DC / Sources" option..and also of "remove from client" option which i get from NWDI perspective.
    Regards,
    Jigar Oza

    hello Jigar,
As long as you have an open activity on a DC you cannot delete or remove the DC from your client (local machine), also if you have an open activity you cannot remove the Track from your Development Configuration Perspective,
Check In of an activity has to be done from NWDS, this will put the changes you have made in your code into the DTR which is the repository for storing code in NWDI,
When you Activate an activity the changes are build centrally by the CBS and then they are deployed into the Runtime System of your track.
Your changes will be local as long as you have the activity opened and you do not check in your changes.
If you want to keep your changes local only you will have to keep your ACtivity Open and this will mean you cannot remove the DC from client,
You can find the concepts for NWDI in the SAP library [NWDI|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/55/c75242f8a0bd30e10000000a155106/frameset.htm]
Hope this helps in solving your problem

  • Importing PAR files into NWDS

    Hi Experts,
Some questions that I hope someone can verify:
    1. When we download a PAR file from Portal and import into NWDS, do references to JAR files not get imported? (for e.g. I see the Portal Logon component require adding of certain jar files)
    2. What are the differences between the PAR files in the following path (downloaded via System admin>support>Portal Runtime>Browse ):
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps
    Thanks,
    ZM

    Hi,
Whenever a PAR file is imported into the NWDS the JAR files will not be imported automatically. You need to copy it in the right location manually.
Regarding the second question , ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp will have the complete PAR file (also I compared the size of logon PAR file)
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp --356234
    -ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps--4096
I guess the different path are for different necessity of the same portal application. While temp folder has the PAR file of the portal application, the portalapps might contain files and reference to launch the Portal application.
When you download from the portalapps folder you will not get the PAR file.
Any information on the second question are welcome..

  • PAR file import problem in NWDS

    Hello All,
Some time back we had developed a custome masthead component for our portal (EP 6, SP 21).
It has been deployed into the portal and its running fine.
now, we need to change some thing in that and so we have downloaded the par file and imported in nwds for code modification.
once we do that we get the masthead.jsp file but unable to get the class files and the beans.
what we doubt is while deploying the par the code was not deployed in the portal.
do you have any idea how can we get the code base out of that ?
p.s we dont have any other code base.
    Thanks
    Anirban

    Hi Anirban,
If you uncheck and deploy the PAR file, later you can download it from portal. But the source code will not be available i.e src.api and scr.core will not be available.
1.unzip the jar file in portalINF/lib.
    2. Run the java decompiler tool on each unzipped folder.
    3. create another folder and move .java files and rename it.
    Hope this might be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Subashini.

  • Unable to connect to Services Registry(error) while connecting from NWDS

    Hi SDN friends,
I am trying to do WSDL import from NWDS (Developer Studio SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP03 PAT0000 Build id: 200710302120 ) and i am getting  following error
"Unable to connect to Services Registry"
Below are  the service regsitry details i am passing

    Waiting for experts answer.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You wrote that you connect to the SAP uddi:
    Service Registry (UDDI Service)
    Server Name:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:sr.esworkplace.sap.com
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
sr.esworkplace.sap.com is not on your home pc. Its a SAP public uddi.
If you want to connect to your own pc than your configuration would be sompething like this:
    Server Name:localhost
    Server Port:50000
    Server HTTPS Port:50043
    Inquiry Path:uddi/api/inquiry
    Publish Path:uddi/api/publish
    Security Path:uddi/api/security
And you shouldn't use this login data
    login/pwd: sruser
    password: eswork123

  • Importing . PAR file from portal to Netweaver Developer Studio.....

    Hello all,
When I Deploy the BP of MSS on Portal, I got one standard Webdynpro application which has some functionality. Now I want to customize this application hence I have imported the par file for this Application in NWDS, But in NWDS this file creates a project which has files with .EPA extension & nothing else . No contents in Portal-inf folder & dist folder.
I am not able to find how can i change the functionality of that application ???
In short I want to customize the WebDynpro application in NWDS, but not getting code familier , how should i proceed ??
    thanks,
    Smita

    Hi,
First of all, u have not imported par file. U have imported the epa file. That is why u don't get files in portal-inf folder. Webdynpro applications are available as ear file which can't b imported into NWDS. So I don't think u can get that application for customization into NWDS.

  • Can't import existing project or multiple project into workspace

    Hi everyone,
When i created a new model to my project , i lost the fils generated automatically in gen_wdp. so the types generated automatically are not recognazed in the code.
Before creating the new model, i have copied the folder of the project to an other place. I try actually to get back this version which contains all generated fils and  which works correctly.
I copied the folder of the last version, before creating models, to ...DCs\sap.com\home and i tried to do an import in NWDS.
when i chose as import source: multiple existing projects into workspace, i can't see the folder to check it and when i use * Existing project into workspace* i can see it in the brows but when i chose it, i have the message Projects already exists
    any idea please?!
    Thanks
    Safae

    Thank you Rahul,
I deleted the new version from the folder .dtc\0\DCs\sap.com\home and i replace it by the latest version before importing the model. In NWDS i closed and opened the project again. The build is OK, but i don't know if the activity is ok( contains the current version of project) or I should do something for updating it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards.

  • XMI import deprecated

Hi, I would like to use automatic code generation UML -> Java.
I was planning to use XMI import in NWDS, but as of 7.0.11 this option is deprecated.
Does anyone know the reasons behind this decision?
Moreover, I would really appreciate if anyone could provide suggestion as to how replace the XMI import and use automatic code generation.
    Thanks
    Vincenzo

Hi, so no response yet, just let me put things the other way around.
I have a JavaBean - based model in my WDP DC. I would like to add method computeTax() to ModelClass Employee.
I can actually add the method to the Employee class in the methods tab in WD Explorer, but I can't find the "implementation" tab in the model class editor as for RFC - based model classes.
Can anyone please help? Also methodologies concerning UML-oriented development would be really valued.
    Thanks, Vincenzo

  • Name-server importing wrong url?

    Dear experts,
I am trying to import a track from NWDI so I can add development components to a software component in the track.  The problem I am having is:
I keep getting this error " Syntax of 'nibco.com/nbdc/nibcotst' is not valid : Invalid name: appropriate prefix not found; choose another name or another name server".  We haven't had this problem in the past...When I go to CMS->Landscape Configurator and click on display development configuration button I get this configuration:
The url for name-server-url property is correct: http://xxxxxxxx:xxxxx/sld/cimom
But when I import to NWDS the url get's changed:
    One NWDS:
    Another NWDS:
For some reason it is changing the naming server url on import to http://xxxxxx:xxxxx/sld/name and http://xxxxxxxx:xxxxx/sld.  Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bradley Sorensen

    Hi Bradley,
I did not fully read this conversation, but this is how it works in general.
    1. Name server is changed in SLD.
    2. Track "in CMS' webui -- Landscape Configurator" has to be re-saved in order to have the change reflected there (this is what you have done so far)
    3. NWDS development config has to be re-imported on client side. Otherwise it'll consider the old configuration, since after the first sync it creates a local file called ".confdef" and works from that one.
So as a hint: if you have no open activities in your devconfig, you can even delete it from your NWDS and import it again that makes sure it uses the updated devconfig .
There is also an "Update Development Configuration" option in the context menu of the Development Config in your NWDS, but if that would not work give it a try re-importing the development config eventually in a new NWDS workspace.
    I hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Ervin

  • Import ESS/MSS PACKAGE FOR MODIFICATION

Anyone suggest me how TO download ESS/MSS applications from portaL AND import into NWDS AND MODIFY.
    Thanks.
    Devi

    Hi Devi,
first you do this and follow jdi cookbook in note 872892
    JDI has been installed
An “Admin User” which has access to all the JDI servers (DTR, CBS, CMS) has
been created and has been assigned necessary privileges (See Administration
manual in help portal for details).
The System Landscape Directory (SLD) has the new content (of the Software Components

  • Development Configuration import Problem

    Hi,
I have 2 development configurations for my project : one ; development and two ; maintanance. I did developments on development configuration and now I want to sync my maintanance configuration with the developments done in the development configuration. I need ot import the Maintanance configuration in NWDS. I am nor able to import it. The error displayed is
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Client VVD_ICICIMNT_D (1): absoluteLocalRoot (='C:\Documents and Settings\283818\.dtc\1\') is already used by another client.
VVD_ICICIMNT_D (1) is the maintanance development configuration I want to import in NWDS.
one strange thing : along with the name of the Configuration there is "1" written in bracket VVD_ICICIMNT_D (1) . wht is that for ?
    Regards
    Mrinalini Sharma

    Hi Mrinalini,
If you are using the 2 NWDI Server in one NWDS. then please refer to below document.
    1NWDS + 2 NWDI Server
But it didn't help me, I have checked with workaround for this, Create two folder namely 'development' and 'maintanance' in account under "Documents and Settings".
Suppose you are workiing in development configuration and want to work on maintanance configuration then you need pur .DTR and .DTC folder in development folder.
AND same if you want to work again in development configuration then you need to put .DTR and .DTC folder in maintanance folder and copy and paste .DTR and .DTC folder from development folder to your account/userid
    Hope it will helps
    Regards
    Arun
