Import objects into OWB 10.2.0.4 from Oracle database 11.2

Hi,
I am using database version 11.2.0.1.0
and OWB version 10.2.0.4...
This owb version in incompatible with the above mentioned database version. I have to import data from this database to this owb repository...
Can anybody suggest a workaround.
Be it using database, OMB+ etc...
Required urgently
Thanks in advance,
Rohit

Hi Suthirtha,
I tried to implement the dblink, I created a dblikn bw the org source(11.2 schema) to my repository owner(also 11.2 schema)... I copied a few tables to the repository owner schema.
Now I opened the design center and tried to look into the tables.. but the confusion is I have multiple mprojects and mdules in my design center. Where would I find the the tables i have copied...
also is there anything i need to do before looking into the design center.. I tried to create a owb location using the dblink, but cant do it coz obth my schema's are in 11.2(not supported by OWB 10.2)
Please Advice....
Thanks,
Rohit

  • Argument Order Reversed Importing Package into OWB

    I'm having a problem importing Packages into OWB. It recognizes the Functions contained in the Package, however the order of the arguments for each Function are reversed after I complete the import into OWB. This causes execution of the mapping to fail... Additionally, after importing into OWB, OWB doesn't seem to recognize any optional parameters or default values in the signature of the Function. I must be doing something wrong... Can anyone help...
    Thanks

    Hi
    Standard approach to be followed for any object modification
    1. If you have created your package from OWB and deployed it into your DB, always do it that way i.e. Design center -->DB . Do not make any modifications on DB level and import in back to your Design center. OWB manages Ids for all objects on the repository and this will confuse it. That is why you see two versions of the same package . Any modifications should be done on Design center level and then do a replace on the package from control center
    2. If an object (package or procedure) is created on DB directly and is imported into design center, follow the same norm everytime you make any changes to that object. The status of that object will appear as "New" or "Not deployed" on control center but that is fine because OWB has no ID on its repository to maintain this information.
    3. If you need to rename any object already deployed from OWB, always drop it first, then rename it and then deploy it. That way OWB will maintain the name and ID on its end and not get confused.
    4. For your case, you can drop the older version of the package from OWB, delete the one imported from Database into OWB, make the changes on OWB level (adding parameter etc) and then redeploy the same package as replace from control center.
    Hope these tips help

  • Passing Array of java objects to and from oracle database-Complete Example

    Hi all ,
    I am posting a working example of Passing Array of java objects to and from oracle database . I have struggled a lot to get it working and since finally its working , postinmg it here so that it coudl be helpful to the rest of the folks.
    First thinsg first
    i) Create a Java Value Object which you want to pass .
    create or replace and compile java source named Person as
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Person implements SQLData
    private String sql_type = "PERSON_T";
    public int person_id;
    public String person_name;
    public Person () {}
    public String getSQLTypeName() throws SQLException { return sql_type; }
    public void readSQL(SQLInput stream, String typeName) throws SQLException
    sql_type = typeName;
    person_id = stream.readInt();
    person_name = stream.readString();
    public void writeSQL(SQLOutput stream) throws SQLException
    stream.writeInt (person_id);
    stream.writeString (person_name);
    ii) Once you created a Java class compile this class in sql plus. Just Copy paste and run it in SQL .
    you should see a message called "Java created."
    iii) Now create your object Types
    CREATE TYPE person_t AS OBJECT
    EXTERNAL NAME 'Person' LANGUAGE JAVA
    USING SQLData (
    person_id NUMBER(9) EXTERNAL NAME 'person_id',
    person_name VARCHAR2(30) EXTERNAL NAME 'person_name'
    iv) Now create a table of Objects
    CREATE TYPE person_tab IS TABLE OF person_t;
    v) Now create your procedure . Ensure that you create dummy table called "person_test" for loggiing values.
    create or replace
    procedure give_me_an_array( p_array in person_tab,p_arrayout out person_tab)
    as
    l_person_id Number;
    l_person_name Varchar2(200);
    l_person person_t;
    l_p_arrayout person_tab;
    errm Varchar2(2000);
    begin
         l_p_arrayout := person_tab();
    for i in 1 .. p_array.count
    loop
         l_p_arrayout.extend;
         insert into person_test values(p_array(i).person_id, 'in Record '||p_array(i).person_name);
         l_person_id := p_array(i).person_id;
         l_person_name := p_array(i).person_name;
         l_person := person_t(null,null);
         l_person.person_id := l_person_id + 5;
         l_person.person_name := 'Out Record ' ||l_person_name ;
         l_p_arrayout(i) := l_person;
    end loop;
    p_arrayout := l_p_arrayout;
         l_person_id := p_arrayout.count;
    for i in 1 .. p_arrayout.count
    loop
    insert into person_test values(l_person_id, p_arrayout(i).person_name);
    end loop;
    commit;
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
         errm := SQLERRM;
         insert into person_test values(-1, errm);
         commit;
    end;
    vi) Now finally create your java class which will invoke the pl/sql procedure and get the updated value array and then display it on your screen>Alternatively you can also check the "person_test" tbale

    Hi Sunil,
    I've a similar situation where I'm trying to insert Java objects in db using bulk insert. My issue is with performance for which I've created a new thread.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5270260&tstart=30
    I ran into your code and looked into it. You've used the Person object array and directly passing it to the oracle.sql.ARRAY constructor. Just curios if this works, cos my understanding is that you need to create a oracle.sql.STRUCT out of ur java object collection and pass it to the ARRAY constructor. I tried ur way but got this runtime exception.
    java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert to internal representation: JavaBulkInsertNew$Option@10bbf9e

    Here's a code snippet I used :
    Object optionVal[] =   {optionArr[0]};   // optionArr[0] is an Option object which has three properties
    oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor empArrayDescriptor = oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("TT_EMP_TEST",conn);
    ARRAY empArray = new ARRAY(empArrayDescriptor,conn,optionVal);If you visit my thread, u'll see that I'm using STRUCT and then pass it to the ARRAY constructor, which works well, except for the performance issue.
    I'll appreciate if you can provide some information.

  • How to I convert data from oracle database into excel sheet

    how to I convert data from oracle database into excel sheet.
    I need to import columns and there datas from oracle database to microsoft excel sheet.
    Please let me know the different ways for doing this.
    Thanks.

    asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
    You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

  • DRILL DOWN FROM GL INTO AP, AR, PO & INV SUBLEDGERS FROM ORACLE DISCOVERER

    Hi,
    One of the key functionality , We are looking for ability to query / Drill down from GL into AP, AR, PO & Inv Subledgers from Oracle Discoverer in the Oracle Applications. We are trying to create workbook that will allow users to see summary of GL Balances, then the ability to retrieve transaction details from subledgers via GL. It looks like this is not possible using seeded folders from seeded business area in the applications EUL. It looks like we need to create custom folders to get these sort of reports.
    Can this be done using seeded EUL? If yes, Can you please let me know the process and steps involved.
    Incase of custom folders, Could you please let me know what are the main tables/views involved for retrieving transactional detail from subledgers like AP, AR, PO & INv via a GL query and relations from the custom folders to Journal Entries and Journal Lines folders.
    I highly appreciate your advice on this subject. if anyone has Business Areas and worksheets already constructed that they could send me this would be most welcomed.
    Thanks in advance for all your help.
    Regards,
    Venkanna

    Hi
    With my little knowledge in Discoverer, I feel this is highly cumbersome process from the EUL to create drilldown to Subledgers using Discoverer 4i.You may have to create and Link several tables and views to get the same.
    The Standard drilldown functionality in Oracle works with GL_SL_LINK_ID and Reference columns populated in GL_JE_HEADERS and GL_JE LINES to link the GL Journals to Supplier Payment, Invoice, Inventory Receipt to PO and similarly for other modules.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing an error with the Integration builder recently. When we open Enterprise Services Repository of PI 7.1, we are able to see the GUI with objects perfectly. When we try to import an object into the repository from the server ( In ESR, choose Tools -> Import Design objects -> From Server), we are thrown with an exception...
    Error when exectuting search (QUERY_ERROR)
    & java.lang.NullPointerException
    The server throws the above two exceptions. I have pasted the logs of the error when trying to import an object from the server and also from the sld, below.
    Have any of you experieced the issue? Request you to please check this out and suggest what the problem could be. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rajeev,
    Thanks for your inputs. I myself am a basis guy. I ve already checked all the authorizations given to the user - PISUPER, and have found it to be fine. Can't understand why this security issue crops up still. anyways, i m getting this error when trying to import an object from the server. If i try to create a new object and during the process, try to import the SCV from SLD, i m facing with an error again, of a different sort. The log says...

  • Unable to Import objects into ID

    Hi All,
            For your support I have completed the development work and I have moved to Quality from Development. But while trying to import the one scenario in to Quality System from Development in XI, I am getting the following Error:-
    Internal error: Unable to transfer changes for object Service | Q14CLNT120 to change list "XI 3.0 Import" (9a590f30-7245-11dc-9266-00306ee97ef1) since object still in change list "XI 3.0 Import" (3ae5e660-701d-11dc-942e-00306ee97ef1)
    I have somehow managed to import another scenario last week into Quality, although now I am unable to import. But while trying to activate the imported scenario into Quality System I am getting another Error as below:-
    Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import
    I tried to activate the change list..but no woek.
    Could anyone please advice?
    BR
    Soumya

    Have you checked the GUID in SLD in both the systems?
    <b>SLD-->Software Components, to check the GUID.</b>
    You can do one thing, first of delete imported objects which are not getting activated from QA, also delete the SWCV from Integration Repository.
    <b>Note:</b> Before deleting SWCV, make sure any other working objects are not there in the same SWCV.
    Now, if <b>SWCV & GUID</b> in both systems are <b>same</b> then again:
    1. Export the objects from Dev (.tpz file)
    2. Imort the same .tpz file to QA system.
    Now go to Repository of QA and
    1. <b>Tools --> Import Design Objects</b>
    2. <b>Tools --> Transfer from system landscape Directory --> Update Application Components.</b>
    Select your components and press Finish button.
    And finally try to Acitvate your objects.

  • Import data from oracle database table into csv file

    Hi
    I have to import data from a table into a csv file. Could anyone suggest the best method to do it? My application is JSP as frontend and have put business logic in servlet.

  • Provisioning Groups into FIM 2010 from oracle database

    Greetings,
    I am trying to provision security groups from an oracle database where i have a view that contains:
    Department_Code
    Department_Name
    DepParent_Code
    The view has a recursive relation between Department_Code and DepParent_Code (1 to many).
    The view will lead to a Tree that has departments and sub-departments, i want to provision this data into FIM then to AD as security groups reserving the same hierarchy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Mohamad Chahla

    I have done something like this myself.  Using my approach I would do the following:
    Extend the Group and group resource type schema in FIM and the FIM Metaverse respectively, adding a new REFERENCE attribute binding ParentGroup/parentGroup respectively;
    Create an Oracle MA for importing DEPARTMENT objects with the anchor attribute Department_Code and with DepParent_Code declared as type REFERENCE;
    Create an inbound sync rule to import department objects as GROUP objects, with IAFs as follows:
    'DEPT-' + Department_Code => group.displayName
    Department_Name => group.description
    DepParent_Code => group.parentGroup
    ... and other IAFs according to the instructions you will find
    here;
    Either create your FIM groups as static (easy), or dynamic/query based (harder - i.e. you would do this if each Person object had a string binding of Department with values which exactly match the DEPT data you are importing) by using an appropriate MPR/workflow;
    Define an outbound sync rule to
    synchronise your FIM group objects to AD.
    If creating dynamic groups, your new workflow "Set Department Group Filter' can be created by using the Function Evaluator to construct the necessary XML filter value (create a group manually first to determine what this must look like) such that each
    group has a matching filter, e.g. the filter for DEPT-ABC would be /Person[Department='ABC']
    Bob Bradley (FIMBob @
    TheFIMTeam.com) ... now using FIM Event Broker for just-in-time delivery of FIM 2010 policy via the sync engine, and continuous compliance for FIM

  • OWB version does not change with Oracle database 11.1.0.7 patch

    Hi,
    This is Kumar and I have just completed applying Oracle database 11.1.0.7 patch (p6890831_111070_Linux-x86-64.zip) on top of Oracle 11.1.0.6 database on RedHat Linux machine. After successful installation, I have issues below statement to check the validity and version of the installed components.
    select comp_name, version, status from dba_registry;
    I could see all the component's version as 11.1.0.7 except OWB component's version which is still *11.1.0.6.0* and status is VALID
    Could you please let me know what went wrong in my installation? or Is this behavior expected one?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Did you check with Patch inventory ?
    You can run the OWB health check script (download from metalink) to the configuration.

  • Mapping an object's property to a field computed from 2 database fields

    Hi,
    Is there a way to do a WorkBench mapping of a business object's property to a field computed from 2 separate database fields?
    If not in WB, how would you do that?
    Thanks,
    Michal

    You could define this mapping through a TransformationMapping using you own code in the mappings transformer to divide the values. However you are probably much better off to just map the two values directly, and add a method in your object model to get the rate buy dividing the values.
    If terms of being able to order-by the calculated value in the a TopLink query, mapping the calculated value using a transformation mapping would not help this.
    To do this order by you can use,
    query.addOrdering(ExpressionMath.multiply(ExpressionMath.divide(builder.get("numberOfSuccess"), builder.get("numberOfAttempts")), 100);

    Kishan

    OWB 9.2 is not supported for Oracle 10gR2.
    The OWB 10.1.0.4 patchset was the first patchset certified against Oracle 10gR2 (please see OWB 10.1.0.4 release notes).
    You should use at OWB 10.1.0.4 (or higher) or OWB 10.2. Certification information for OWB 10.2 you can find in the Installation Guide (Understanding INstallation Requirements).
