Import of SMPTE Bars in AE CS3 has unexpected results

If I export SMPTE Bars as ProRes 4:2:2: media from Final Cut Pro 7, import the resulting clip back into FCP and place it on the time line next to the original bars generated by FCP the two sets look exactly identical. If I take that same export and run it though After Effects, with nothing applied to it, render that timeline to ProRes 4:2:2 and import that resulting file into FCP it does not match.The gamma seems wrong, the I & Q signals on a vectroscope no longer line up correctly, saturation seems to be off, and the PLUGE signal appears to be clipped at black.
Am I using the wrong test pattern to test this in After Effects? If so, what pattern should I be using? Why is After Effects distorting the I & Q signal and the PLUGE signal?
Helping me down the road to solving this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Karl. I know there have been gamma issues in the past with ProRes and After Effects. We put significant work into CS5 to make sure everything worked correctly. Unfortunatley, we let an alpha bug slip by, though it's easily fixed by a simple text edit.
I just verified on my laptop that I get a gamma shift in CS3, but I don't get one in CS4 or CS5 with my particular setup. Which codec are you using exactly? 422, not 422HQ, or the LT/Proxy version? Do you have any other 3rd party plugins installed(AJA, Blackmagic, etc?)
It's possible I won't be able to get gamma to match perfectly in CS3, but editing the MediaCoreQTGammaRules.xml file may work if I can get more info on the exact codec(4cc) you're using.

Changing Text property of TextObject at runtime has unexpected results

I'm using the version of Crystal Reports that ships with VS 2008.
At runtime, I'm replacing the text of a TextObject with new text. This works fine when the TextObject contains only literal information, but when the TextObject contains a formula field it does not work as expected.
If I have the following in the designer:
Text1 with text of "Number: {@FormulaX}"
And in the runtime code (in the InitReport method):
Text1.Text = "N.: {@FormulaX}"
The observed output is: N.: {@ForumlaX}
Instead of the expected output of: N.: 5
I even tried the following in the runtime code:
string foo = Text1.Text;
Text1.Text = foo;
And it produced similar results.
Any ideas on what's going on, or how to get the results I'm expecting?

The Text property doesn't interpret the formula syntax. You'll need to use a RAS TextObject to accomplish this.
Note: This inproc RAS code will only work with Crystal Reports XI R2 SP2 and Crystal Reports 2008.

Everytime I try to make a GIF, and I select the length of the video, and press okay, a box comes out saying: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I've tried the "CTRL-ALT-SHIFT," but it doesn't work! Please help? ):

Imported Fireworks Nav Bar Animation Looping

I have imported a navigation bar I made in fireworks into dreamweaver and when I preview in browser it keeps looping. In fireworks I added a rollover effect so that when you rollover each bit of text, e.g. home, contact, games it goes bold, and when previewing it loops so they all keep going bold without my control. In Fireworks I made it using slices and several states, and so just when I rollover state one it changes to state 2 for example. Very simple, but it keeps looping, how can I stop this? Thanks. You do not require the fireworks/javascript to achieve the effect you require for your links.
This effect can be made using simple css a:link, (visited, hover, active) statements, I would also recommend using css to style your page and not tables/image slices .

Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

I recently purchased a new desktop computer and installed Adobe CS3 Master Edition on it and I get the following error:
Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Out of the entire suite of tools only Photoshop will not launch. The weird thing is i also had the same Adobe programs installed on my laptop and I have not made any installation updates to that machine and i am getting the same error. I have always installed the same software on my two home machines with no problem until now. Any help is appreciated.

Windows 7 " Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working "

Okay let me stir up a whole new kettle of fish WINDOWS 7 VS CS3 PHOTOSHOP.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit. I am running (or trying) CS3 Master suite. Most all progams function except Photoshop. I try to load it and I get "Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working" and then there is no fix and no help. Photoshop ran on Vista 64bit just fine.
I'm curious if anyone else is having this same issue? If so have you found any clue as to the issue?
I get the feeling this could be a conflict with a windows 7 update or something?
Any fixes?

Try right clicking on the PS CS3 icon and run as admin. I can tell you that people have a lot of problems in running PS CS3 in Windows 7 and had to download the Windows XP virtual and run CS3 in virtual mode.

You can reduce the size to normal, which is about 1GB, by restoring the phone.

In Firefox 3.6 and later versions you can disable the F7 shortcut that toggles caret browsing by setting the pref accessibility.browsewithcaret_shortcut.enabled to false.
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Help! CS3 has stopped working

I get an error message from windows vista premiumm home.
It just says: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. The only option is a box that says "close program". Once you close it everything goes away. It doesn't even give you a hint of what the problem could be. I installed creative suite 3 web premium on this brand new computer about 2 weeks ago. This is a first time install of this software, but when I called Adobe they said they don't offer free installation help anymore on cs3 because cs4 is out now. Anyone have a clue what I should do? I can't just uninstall photoshop, if I try it wants to uninstall all 8 programs.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Dreamweaver CS3 has encountered a problem...

I have searched the interent for hours trying to resolve this issue.
Everytime I open up DW, i get the error message:
"Adobe DW CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close."
When i click "send error report" or "Dont send," DW closes.
If I just leave that alone, i can work in DW.
The problem is its also doing it for Adobe Acrobat 8.0.
I am operating on XP.
I have tried to go in and unistall the entire Adobe Creative Suite. I click on "remove" and nothing happens.
I am really frustrated with this. Any help is appreciated.

Does CuteFTP work on it's own when DW is closed?
I too, use CuteFTP in conjunction with DW and have for many years and have never had such a problem.
Are you doing anything specific in Cute FTP when DW crashes?

You did not steal my thunder. You asked for advice, I provided advice. I assumed that since you nor the "support team" could find your files that you did not have any backup. You should have told us you do regular backups. We have no way to know otherwise unless you tell us.

First try resetting the tool by clicking the tiny arrow at the far left end of the options bar and choosing reset tool.
But you should be able to use the arrow keys to navigate through the fonts, too.

Adobe [program name] CS3 has stopped working....

I am attempting to run programs from the Adobe CS3 suite on my laptop, which runs with Windows Vista. My Adobe CS3 programs all show the "Adobe [program name] CS3 has stopped working" message, followed by a brief attempt to fix the problem by windows. Until this morning, the programs had been running without incident for several months.
Does problem sound familiar? What can be done to solve it?

Lots of things are known to cause issues with the CS3 installer, including besides the obvious antivirus and spyware scanners and firewalls things like iTunes, instant messengers, browser helper toolbars like the Google Toolbar, and previous versions of the Flash player, which I would have thought would be removed by the clean script, but there is a tool here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2
Also, be sure jscript.dll is properly registered. It won't hurt to do that again. Click Start > Run and type regsvr32 jscript.dll with the space, but without the quotes, and hit enter. You should see a dialog saying it was successful.
Click Start > Run and type MSconfig and hit enter. Disable all non-essential services and all non-essential items in the startup items, particularly anything to do with Anti-virus, spyware protection or third party firewalls, and then reboot. You can hide all Microsoft service in the services tab of MSconfig to make it easier, and most of whats left will be non-essential, though if anything looks like it has to do with your DVD drive or your mouse youll want to leave it checked. Its probably safe to turn off everything in the Startup tab, but again, if you recognize a mouse driver, leave it on. MSconfig will run as soon as you restart the computer and if everything seems OK, just cancel for the moment.
Be sure the Windows firewall is disabled. Third-party firewalls should have been disabled in Msconfig. Other things that should be disabled include any instant messenger, iTunes, and Google toolbars or similar from other vendors if you run them.
Be sure Java is enabled in the browser, and that you have a default printer (LOCAL - can be fax viewer if necessary) online.
After the installer runs, reboot, and when MSconfig starts change it back to "Normal Startup" and reboot again.
