Import Script Failing Sporadically

The script ran fine for a year, then it began failing sporadically.  I suspect it's related to a DB timeout or network issue, but I can't pinpoint the issue.  I added some basic logging and error trapping, but it isn't enough to go on.  Any ideas on how to continue troubleshooting?

But i am getting error as "Data access error" and its in the below line when i try to execute the code form the workbench...but when i use the import button in the web its importing....*i beleive its somethign related to the STRWORKTABLENAME and somewhere i read that i need to declare the function FARSTABLE*...but i dont know how as i am pretty novice to that....can you please help me....
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTable(strWorkTableName)
also when i checked the error log i saw

Per my answer on Network 54 you cannot test the script interactively in FDQM workbench. You must execute the integration script as part of the normal data load process.
Per the FDM Admin guide: "Integration scripts can be run only by selecting Script from the File Type column of the Import Group grid (top grid) of the Import Formats screen".
As I mentioned in my Network 54 post you can test the pure vbscript portions (without the FDQM specifics) to confirm that is working properly then add it to the integration script which will only run as part of a normal file import process.

    Muthu,
This issue usually occurs when the AM.class file is not available at the given location. Try to find out on the server whether this
    tflsm.oracle.apps.po.per.server.TflsmAM exists.
If still the problem persists then go for redeployement by deleting the existing one.

  • Import script (SQL to FDM) - ConnectionRead error

    Hi,
I have written an import script in FDM to load data from a SQL view. This script works fine when loading approx 5,000 rows, however, fails when trying to load 20k+ rows
The error message I am receiving is:
Detail: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionRead (recv()).
    At line: 72
Line 72 = rs.movenext 'moves to the next record in the SQL view.
I have tried ignoring a few columns in the import script (to reduce the data volume) - this works, however I need all columns.
Below is a copy of the script:
    Function COG1_BrandPL(strLoc, lngCatKey, dblPerKey, strWorkTableName)
    Dim cnSS 'ADO connection object
    Dim strSQL 'SQL string
    Dim rs 'Source (Cognos) recordset
    Dim rsAppend 'FDM recordset
    'Initialize ADO objects
    Set cnSS = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    Set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
'Open FDM table recordset for appending
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTableAppend(strWorkTableName)
    'Connect to SQL Server database
    cnSS.open "Driver={SQL Server};Server=XXXXXXXXX;OLE DB Services =-2;Database=XXXXXX;Uid=USER;Pwd=PASSWORD;"
    'Create SQL query string
    strSQL = "Select * FROM Corporate_PLUOP_view"
    'Open source recordset
    rs.Open strSQL, cnSS
'Check for data in source system
    If rs.bof AND rs.eof Then
    RES.PlngActionType = 2
RES.PstrActionValue = "No records to load!"
    COG1_BrandPL = False
    Exit Function
    End If
'Loop through source records and append to FDM table
If Not rs.bof And Not rs.eof Then
    Do While Not rs.eof
    rsAppend.AddNew
    rsAppend.Fields("PartitionKey") = RES.PlngLocKey
    rsAppend.Fields("CatKey") = lngCatKey
    rsAppend.Fields("PeriodKey") = dblPerKey
    rsAppend.Fields("DataView") = "YTD"
    'From Cognos
    rsAppend.Fields("UD3") = rs.fields("Cube").value
    rsAppend.Fields("Entity") = rs.fields("Entity").value
    rsAppend.Fields("UD1") = rs.fields("Custom1").value
    rsAppend.Fields("Account") = rs.fields("Account").value
    rsAppend.Fields("ICP") = rs.fields("ICP").value
    rsAppend.Fields("UD2") = rs.fields("Custom2").value
    rsAppend.Fields("Amount") = rs.fields("QPR_Value").value
    rsAppend.Update
    rs.movenext
    Loop
    End If
    rs.close
    cnSS.close
    'Assign Return value
    COG1_BrandPL = True
    End Function
The only other thing I have tried is copying and pasting the script to Excel.... This works for ALL rows... so seems to be a communication issue between FDM and SQL?
    Any ideas?

  • FDM Import Script

    Hi,
i'm new making import scripts to FDM. I m making an integration script between SAP and FDM. I m getting information from via web FDM, the problem is when i a m trying to add this information to the workTable. The code is as follows:
    for i = 0 to tData.Rowcount
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTable(strWorkTableName1)
    rsAppend.AddNew
    rsAppend.Fields("PartitionKey") = RES.PlngLocKey
    rsAppend.Fields("CatKey") = RES.PlngCatKey
    rsAppend.Fields("PeriodKey") = RES.PdtePerKey
    rsAppend.Fields("DataView") = "YTD"
    rsAppend.Fields("Entity") = arrayResult(19)
    rsAppend.Fields("Account") = arrayResult(0)
    rsAppend.Fields("Desc1") = arrayResult(0)
    rsAppend.Fields("ICP") = "[None]"
    rsAppend.Fields("Amount") = saldoTotal
    rsAppend.Update
    next
Whe i execute this script i just receive an error message saying: "Error: Import Failed", nothing appears in the Error log, neither in the work table.
Can anyone help me? Does anybody know what can i do to add these records in the work table?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

How are you getting the table name for variable strWorkTableName1?
I'd suggest taking another look at the admin guide. There is an example import integration script in that document.

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 - PowerShell Script failed to run - 3 alerts appear after every reboot of the SCOM Server

Brand new SCOM 2012 SP1 install with Update Rollup 1 applied
Single server, local SQL install, SQL Server 2012 SP1
Hyper-V VM running on Server 2012.  VM has 8GB Ram, single vCPU
Going through initial management pack importing and configuration, at this point I have the Windows Server 2012 and SQL 2012 MP's installed.
    See screenshot
    http://i.imgur.com/l0Molh1.png
I am getting the following alerts in my SCOM console and cannot find a resolution to fix the issue.  I don't want to set an override, as an override will prevent the PowerShell alert in other instances, where I might want to receive an alert.
Looking at the alert description, it states "The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized"
The SCOM Console launches and responds fine, and I get no other errors.  I check the Data Access service and it is online.  I have left the system alone for a couple of hours and no other errors.  I then closed those alerts and restarted the
server, and they came right back in, so I know that this is something that is happening at either server startup of during the start of the SCOM services.
Is it possible that SCOM is trying to execute these scripts and the Data Access service has not come online yet?
Has anyone else come across this before?

Please try the method in the following thread:

It says network link is active when I test the network link to make sure its connectivity. I create the network link as a system account. I'm trying to do an import from an Oracle database 10.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.1. My 10g database is on ms windows 2003x64 while my 11g database is on OEL 5.4x64.
What should I do for now?
    Thank you.

It will be wise to run the Oracle supply streams health check script to check your existing streams environment.
From the result, you can also open a tar with Oracle to see if they can help you with the setup.
In addition to the ORA-01403 error, you can also run some of the Oracle Streams packages (Managing Apply Errors) to see the full detail of what is missing that caused the Ora-01403 error.
I will also try to implement a smoke test using the simple heartbeat table suggested by Oracle Streams, if that is working, then you can begin your full scale setup in your environment knowing that the base Streams Structure is setup correctly.

How was the export created ? A FULL export or SCHEMA export or a TABLES export ?
The account is created by import if it is a FULL export or SCHEMA export (and the user running the import has been granted the IMP_FULL_DATABASE role -- which would be the case with SYSTEM).

You need to use import from a 902 database install.

  • Migration Scripts fail

    So in the process of migrating Version 7 to Version 9 on both CUCM and UCCX.   Upgrade went fine and systems are up and running.  After importing the scripts, documents, prompts from old to new, they will not run.   They pass validation and load as an application without error, but calling results in going straight to system default message.   Active debug does not work as it fails before Triggering Contact?   The script has no C:\ reference relics from old, so I am wondering what the issue is.    How best to trouble shoot?  These are relatively simple scripts so I guess I could just rewrite them.  I note the partial service of the UCCX Engine, but dont know how to locate the cause.  Might be something related to script failure?  Any input?  A;
Also how do I make sure the default language and prompt files are being used.  I am thinking that maybe the scripts cant find the prompts?  The old system did not use language and the new one does.   Duh...

Hieronymous Merkin wrote:Active debug does not work as it fails before Triggering Contact?
Did you mean Reactive debugging?  Because generally speaking you cannot Active debug a script that references the Triggering Contact.  Also, by "Triggering Contact" did you mean that the script fails before the Accept step?  If so, then does that mean that you are able to debug the script up until the Accept step?  This could be a codec/media resource issue.
Hieronymous Merkin wrote:How best to trouble shoot?
Sounds like you've already done some work.  I.e., You've reviewed your scripts for improper references to the C:\.  You have validate your scripts.  Etc.  The next thing would be to review MIVR logs.
Hieronymous Merkin wrote:These are relatively simple scripts so I guess I could just rewrite them.
That is a possibility, but if the problem is not actually with the script, you'll be fighting a losing battle.
    Hieronymous Merkin wrote:I note the partial service of the UCCX Engine, but dont know how to locate the cause.  Might be something related to script failure?  Any input?  A;
You find out in the MIVR logs.  But I would also recommend you pulling CUCM logs as well, as like I said before, if it's the Accept step where the script fails, then it's probably a codec/media resource issue, which will only be seen in CUCM logs.
Hieronymous Merkin wrote:Also how do I make sure the default language and prompt files are being used.  I am thinking that maybe the scripts cant find the prompts?  The old system did not use language and the new one does.
Look at the system default language.  Look at the language on your triggers.  Look at the MIVR logs to see which prompt files are being loaded (it gives the full path in the log file).

  • FDM - Building Integration Import Scripts

    Hi All,
I am trying to write an Integration Script to load SQL Server data into FDM 9.3.1. The script initialises a recordset object for the worktable that the source SQL Server data is loaded into.
The statement at which my script fails is:
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTable(strWorkTableName)*
I have followed the sample script documented in the FDM Admin Guide.
Does anyone have ideas as to why the script fails at this statement?
    Thanks,

    Hi everyone,
I was wondering if sending the sample code would help get a clearer picture....
    Function CTIDB2Test(strLoc, lngCatKey, dblPerKey, strWorkTableName)
    'Hyperion FDM Integration Import Script:
    'Created By:     admin
    'Date Created:     2/19/2009 1:16:59 PM
'Purpose: This import integration script connects to the CentroODS database
' and imports Actuals data from the generalLedgerMasterFile and glMasterAccount table into FDM
    Dim cnSS 'ADO Connection object
    Dim strSQL ' SQL String
Dim rs ' Source System recordset
    Dim rsAppend ' FDM recordset
    Dim sPOVString
    Dim sPOVPeriod
    Dim sDataCol
    ' Initialise the ADO objects
    Set cnSS = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    Set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet")
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTableAppend(strWorkTableName)
The script fails at the statement:
    Set rsAppend = DW.DataAccess.farsTableAppend(strWorkTableName)
    Thanks

  • Archiver auto-imported documents fail conversion (GenWWW)??? :-\

So I'm experiencing an unusual problem where the docs that are sync'd from another server go through "conversion" upon auto-archiver-import even though there isn't an outgoing provider to an IBR, all file formats are set to Passthru, and I have the "Copy Web Content" option turned on for the archive. To make matters worse, the conversion sometimes fails, which prevents documents from becoming released. There's no pattern as to when or why the files (xml, pdf, jpg, bmp, doc, hcsp, etc) fail conversion either; and not every imported doc fails.
    Some other symptoms:
    - The content info page shows "Indexing failed." under "Conversion Error" (is this as simple as a corrupted collection? we still use Verity)
    - The conversion status is "Failed"
    - The revision status is "GenWWW"
    - Once I resubmit it (via Repository Manager or doc info page), the conversion succeeds about 99% of the time
    - The IBR conversion succeeds on the source server
These sync'd docs shouldn't even be going through conversion in the first place...
    Any thoughts??

Frank Abela wrote:Not likely an indexer issue. The GENWWW state is valid while the document is going through conversion. Once conversion is complete it is set to Done. Only then is it ready for indexing. You can prove this by switching off the indexer auto update cycle and switching on systemdatabase and services verbose tracing. You can actually trace the inserts of GENWWW and DONE into the database even though no indexing is possible at that point. With all due respect, I'm not trying to sound like a jerk. But it's likely an indexer issue - here's why:
I'd agree with you if we were simply talking about normal checkins and updates with an attached IBR instance. We aren't talking about the normal here.
    - You have documents being ingested via archiver, with a webviewable document already present in the archive, so IBR shouldn't be the issue - you aren't "creating" a webviewable in this case. Unless "AlwaysResubmit=1" is being set somewhere, these documents have no need to go back to IBR - plus according to the OP (Andrew, I think), IBR is not even enabled in the target environment.
    - stellentpmp wroteOnce I resubmit it (via Repository Manager or doc info page), the conversion succeeds about 99% of the timeIf IBR is broke, doesn't it seem like 99% is a pretty high success rate for a broken system for simply clicking a button - and no IBR is present to do the conversions to boot? (How can IBR be broke in an environment where IBR isn't even present?)
    - As I mentioned in my previous post, I saw ALMOST the EXACT same behavior less than a month ago when archiving documents into a system (documents archived had webviewables with no real need for reconversion). The archive imported, but only about 20% of the content indexed. Resubmitting individual items failed sporadically. Forcing collection rebuilds to index everything would start, but stop for no reason. When I looked at the system console output, there would always be a message ("text export timed out") on different items (never the same ones) and once this error was thrown, the entire indexing process stopped cold with no recovery. Increasing the timeout allowed the text export process to finish, and the collection was successfully rebuilt.
Now the reason for the need to increase the timeout is unknown, but that may be due to file system access and the speed of the access to the file system where the text export file is being written, which is probably the "~temp" directory under "vault".
Frank Abela wrote: If you're using pass through, then this is a file copy which is failing for some reason.Again, this would be a function of file system access, which fits with the text export failure scenario mentioned above. It would interesting to see if the behavior is worse at a given time of the day, or is it truly random.

    Hi,
could it be the begin_ and end_ Colums of your query?
    Seems SQL*PLUS hs parsing problems?
try to fetch another column from that table
and see if the error raises again.

  • Start up script fails; Unable to boot...Please, Help.

This is my first major problem that I have had with this computer. It has been running fine until this past Sunday night. I was running AOL, Firefox & iTunes. The computer was running slow and iTunes was skipping frequently. I rebooted and resumed my activities only to have the same problems and the computer booted slower than usual. I closed all my applications and rebooted once again. Then, I ran Disk Utility had used Verify Disk. It found an error on my system volume stating an incorrect block count in one sector and referenced a file cache_003, all other volumes passed. Disk Utility was unable to repair the volume. Repair Disk ran slow. I did a search for the file cache_003 and discovered that it was part of a Netscape profile back up on a different partition. I deleted the profile and used Disk Utility again. This time, the system volume passed and a different volume failed due to incorrect block size, Repair Disk failed. The next time I tried to boot the computer the gray screen with apple and loading indicator came up and stayed for several minutes followed by a blue screen with loading indicator for several minutes and stayed blue for nearly 40 minutes. Eventually, the screen went black and displayed that the start up script failed. Here is some of what was displayed.
    Darwin/BSD(Computer Name-Computer.local)(console)
    System Starter[35]
login date&time Internet Sharing[96]:Libinfo[Socket_open():2318]connect():2318]connect:()connection refused (This line repeated continuously)
I am able to input commands at this stage but I am not knowledgeable enough to know what to do.
When I push the power button to turn it off the computer beeps once and the led light flashes three times and turns off.
Each time when I attempt to boot either into Safe Mode or from the Software Install DVD I encounter the same problem.
Now, Monday night by chance on another boot attempt the computer started up although it took about 20-30 minutes. It was missing one volume which showed up in Disk Utility under a different name. While I had the computer up I backed up what I could on the volumes that mounted. One file I was unable to burn using Toast 9 due to a data fork error. The computer eventually froze during my activities and since I have had no luck at my start up attempts and have had the same problem. Luckily, I was able to back up everything I needed with the exception of what was on the AWOL volume.
The last thing I had installed recently was the latest Security Update which went fine and was two days before the trouble started.
I am at a loss for what to do next. I would like to retrieve the files on that one volume but at this point if I can start up I would just like to reformat and install the OS.
Any help with this problem would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Well, originally when I ran Disk Utility, although it performed slower than usaual it found the error as previously mentioned and was unable to Repair Volume. As to using the Hardware Disc & Install Discs(original & Tiger) the computer failed to boot although you could hear the disc spinnning for awhile. In both and every instance regardless of any or no disc, the computer starts the boot process and you see the gray screen with white apple and loading indicator for about 3 minutes then it switches to the blue screen with loading indicator. After quite some time the loading indicator goes away and it's just a blue screen for nearly a half-hour followed by a black screen which starts the above prompt. I can post all of what that said later as I have written all of it down at home, a portion of it is in my original post. The start up chime doesn't sound at all. I do get a tone and flashing LED lights when I hold the power button down to turn it off after the above described boot process. There is not much I can do except try and try again. I may need to get a new hard drive but I would like to resolve it without doing so if possible. When trying to boot from both discs I was holding down the C key as directed and I have tried just letting the computer boot with disc in drive without any key interaction.
