Imported Crystal Reports from CE10 with specified server group problem

We have Crystal Reports on a CE10 Environment where we have assigned and scheduled them to different server groups in order to throttle workload and maintain customer service levels.  When importing these reports to BO XI 3.1, it appears to bring over the server group with the report (it's visible in the CMC) but when a normal user goes to do a schedule on the report in InfoView, it fails, unless they go to the Scheduling Server Group' area on the report schedule options and select 'use first available server'.  All of the other options were greyed out.  If I log in as an account that is the member of the 'Administrators' group, it shows the option 'Only user servers belonging to the selected group'.  Am I missing a permission/security setting?  The user doing the scheduling has the 'Schedule' security profile on the report.

Must grant user rights to view server groups and servers in order to allow for scheduling to specific server groups or servers

  • Crystal Report 8.5 with SQL SERVER 2005 problems

    Post Author: AREVA
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    Hi All !We have some problems with Crystal Reports version 8.5 with SQL Server 2005: 1) When we want to generate a report (using data in SQL Server 2005) we have a popup message error : "impossible to loaded pdssql.dll".2) If we want to use SQL Server 2005, which Crystal Reports version we must used ? Is there any restrictions with this connectivity with 8.5 version ?Please, let me known, all informations about SQL Server 2005 and Crystal Report 8.5.Thanks for all !Best regards Anthony

    Hello Kamlesh,
    There is no expectation that the ActiveX viewer (RDC?) from CR8.5 will work in any version of Visual Studio .NET. There is also no expectation that the ActiveX viewer from CR8.5 will work on a machine with a 64 bit operating system.
    You're using VS2008. You should migrate to the bundled edition of CR for VS2008 (v10.5), the ReportDocument object, and the .NET Windows form viewer or Web form viewer.

  • Open a crystal report from WAD with passing  the variables values

    Hi,
    I need to know is there any way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD)and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
    Maybe we need to pass parameter by WAD URL but this is just my assumption and have no idea how to do this with passing variable values.
    right now I know the method of how Bex queries which are used as data source for crystal reports but in my current scenario we have the structure like this that bex queries link with WAD and then WAD is linked with crystal reports.
    No doubt that Crystal report is target option in RRI but there the source is Bex Query only but in current scenario we are looking  WAD (web template) as a source to crystal report or crystal report called in WAD.
    Please suggest something on same.
    Thanks
    Take care

    Hello Vishal.
    Did you find a solution for this problem?
    I'm facing right now the same problem, I need a way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD) and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
    Have found an answer to this issue? If yes, please kindly inform how have you solved this.

  • Crystal Reports 10 Compatibility with Windows Server 2008 R2

    Hello I'm a developer and I'm in the process of migrating my ASP.NET application that uses crystal reports 10 from a win2k3 server to a win2k8 R2 server.
    First of all, is CR 10 compatible with windows server 2008 R2?
    The application is up and running on the new server, the only thing that fails is the reports. I get the following error message:
    Error in file ....c:\windows\temp\{TEMP_FILE_NAME}.rtp
    Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine.
    This occurs at report.load(..)
    I did already grant NETWORK SERVICE access to Temp and ran the CR redistribute msi that came with Visual Studio 2008 - CRRedist2008_x64.msi.
    Please help

    YESSSS!!!! IT WORKS!!
    Finally, after days of installing, uninstalling, setting permissions, crawling through process monitor output.. I finally have it working.
    For anyone with the same problem, here's what worked for me:
    I had to use the 32-bit runtime
    set application pool to 32-bit
    grant the following permissions based on the different errors listed below:
    Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT
    - Give NETWORK SERVICE list permission on C: Drive, run a report, then remove NETWORK SERVICE from the list (weird, but works, and I had to do this every single time I setup Crystal Reports on a new computer so far).
    - You might also have to set correct permission on 'Temp' if u get still get this error.
    Error in file ....c:\windows\temp.rtp
    Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine
    - Grant correct permission to C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects (your path may vary)
    (For me it was giving Users Modify permission to Business Objects folder)
    Unknown Query Engine ErrorError in File C:\Windows\TEMP\.rpt:
    Unknown Query Engine Error
    - Switch application pool to 32-bit.
    - Make sure Crystal Reports Runtime is 32-bit (CRRedist2008_x86.msi)
    Thank you guys so much for all your help and sticking through this with me.

  • After installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 server with one error..

    After installing Crystal Reports XI on Windows 2003 server with one error... REGSVR sapldap.dll error.  I had to regsvr it manually.  Crystal still didn't run.  Found out that Crystal Reports XI will not run until you change DEP to protect only windows program and services.  Thanks.

    Thank you for sharing your finding. Very much appreciated.
    The DEP is a known issue and it is documented in [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] note.
    Crystal Reports XI was not compiled with the nx flag as it released before Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2003 Service Pack 1.
    As for the sapldap.dll. I'm not sure where this is coming from. I do not see this dll on my install, however it does come with the SAP portal integration kit. So I'm not sure if that is flying around somewhere on that server(?)

  • How to invoke crystal reports from Oracle forms 11g R2 along with passing p

    How to invoke crystal reports from Oracle forms 11g R2 along with passing parameter to it.
    how to pass parameters to crystal report, please help.

    how to pass parameters to crystal report, please help.This would entirely depend on crystal reports and you might find informations on crystal reports related communities more likely...I for one have seen crystal reports the last time about 12 years ago. And even back then I simply acknowledged it's existence instead of working with it.
    Maybe crystal reports can be invoked via a URL call which would make it simple as you'd need simply build an URL and show the report using web.show_document. But that's pure speculation. Also you might not be the first with this requirement, so the solution to your problem might be right under your nose and just a little google search away ;)
    cheers

    CrystalReportViewer viewer = new CrystalReportViewer();

    viewer.dispose();
    catch(Exception e)
    throw new JspException( e);
    %>
    </body>
    </html>

    I never really had much luck with this approach.
    Mind you I was using Crystal Reports 10, and as far as I recall it didn't allow setting/changing of database at this level.
    Things to check
    - can you create a database connection on your page with this URL/username/password?
    - what server are you using? Tomcat? WebLogic?
    I found this in your other post:
    Connection Information: {Server Name=ee6rpt, Connection String=DSN=s(ee6rpt);User ID=s(ee62test);Password=;UseDSNProperties=b(false), Database Name=, Database DLL=crdb_odbc.dll}That would indicate it is using odbc to connect to the database (crdb_odbc.dll). ODBC is a bad idea with java.
    The way I have got it to work for me (after much trial and error) was to in Crystal Reports to connect using the Oracle Driver, and specifying a tnsname - eg define REPORT_DS in tnsnames.ora.
    When running through the JRC, it looked for a JNDI datasource under that same name "REPORT_DS".
    Don't know if that will help you or not.
    Good luck,

  • Can't view Crystal Reports from BW

    Hi,
    I'm installing SAP Integration Kit XI 3.1 SP3 with IIS.  I am able to publish reports from BW to BOE but not able view them from BW.  I followed the documentation to use report/report_view.aspx to define the viewer application in Content Administration Workbench.  But it is giving me a "The page cannot be found" error when I try to view Crystal Reports from BW.  I tried looking for the file report/report.aspx but cannot find it.  I was able to locate the file in SAP_CrystalReport_View/report_view.aspx.  I repointed the system to this path but it still giving me the same error.
    Anybody here encountered this before?
    Thanks,
    Elijah

    Hi Ingo,
    - has the report being saved to BW and then published to BusinessObjects enterprise ?
        Yes, the report is being published from BW to BOE successfully.
    - did you import the ABAP Transports to the BW system ?
        I imported all the transports that came with the Integration Kit.  I'm not sure if the ABAP transport is one of them.
    - has the viewing service in transaction SICF been configured ?
        Yes, the top entry in the handler list is /CRYSTAL/CL_BW_HTTP_HANDLER.
    I did notice that the BW system is on a different subdomain than the web application server.  For example,
       BW system        -  bw01.us.mydomain.com
       BOE web server -   boweb.mydomain.com
    Would that affect the single sign on?

  • Database error when trying to view Crystal Report from InfoView

    I am receiving the following error when I try to view or run a Crystal Report from the InfoView.  The report is based on an SAP InfoSet.
    "Failed to load database information."
    The report data can be refreshed with no trouble from within the Crystal Reports designer on my local machine, but the error occurs after it is published to the InfoView.  The same error appears when trying to import into Excel using LiveOffice.
    Server details:
    -Edge 3.1
    -Windows 2003 64-bit
    -SAP Integration kit installed
    Local Crystal Reports machine details:
    -Windows XP
    -SAP Integration kit installed
    -Crystal Reports 2008
    My steps to troubleshoot so far:
    -Checked Database Logon details in CMC for the report.  Username and password are entered correctly.
    -Cycled all CrystalReports background services off and on again from the CMC
    -Rebooted server
    Have I missed anything?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    do you have any connectivity from your EDGE to the SAP System ? Like can you import roles or run a WebI ?

  • How to Call Crystal Reports from Swing Application

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement for calling Crystal Report from Swing Application. Please let me know how can I do that, and also provide the Source code for calling the crystal report.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chandra

    hi
    this is the code that i am using in my application which is similar to urs. but i am working with CR XI so make all the neccessary changes.
        import java.awt.*;
        import javax.swing.*;
        import com.crystaldecisions.ReportViewer.*;
        import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.*;
        import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.reportsource.*;
       public class HelloSwing
            public static void createAndShowGUI()
                try
                    //Make sure we have nice window decorations.
                    JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);
                    //Create and set up the window.
                    JFrame frame = new JFrame("HelloWorldSwing");
                    frame.setTitle( "Testing Reports");
                    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
                   ReportViewerBean viewer = new ReportViewerBean();
                    viewer.init( new String[0], null, null, null);
                  ReportClientDocument rpt = new ReportClientDocument();
                    rpt.open( "report path", 1 );
                    IReportSource rptSource = rpt.getReportSource();
                    viewer.setReportSource( rptSource );
                    frame.getContentPane().add( viewer, BorderLayout.CENTER );
                    frame.setSize( 700, 500 );
                    frame.setVisible(true);
                    viewer.start();
                catch ( Exception exception )
                    System.out.println( exception.toString() );
            public static void main(String[] args)
                javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable()
                    public void run()
                        createAndShowGUI();
       there are 23 jar files that u need to import into ur package. but remember that ReportViewerBean should be the first jar file in the list & it should be followed by jrcerom.jar
    specify the key in the CRConfig.xml file (which also has to be imported in the package)
    u can find these jar files in the common objects folder in your program files.
    hope it helps. best of luck

  • Duplicate Object Name Error When Publishing Crystal Reports from BW to BOE

    Hi,
    We recently upgraded our systems (all client and server) to SP2.7 in order to solve a problem with saving Crystal Reports to BW.  Now we are experiencing a new error when trying to publish a Crystal Report from BW to BOE (either all in one step from Crystal Reports application or directly from within BW).
    Upon trying to publish a Crystal Report from BW to BOE, we get the following error:
    "An error occurred while saving and / or publishing.  The return code 1 was returned from the server.  Logon to Crystal Enterprise failed.  Unable to commit the changes to Enterprise.  Reason: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder."
    We have repeated this issue numerous time with different reports, users and logon credentials and have verified that there are NOT any duplicate object names.
    Additionally, in some cases, the report ultimately publishes to BOE, but with the above error interruption along the way.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Ingo,
    Apologies for the delayed response.  We've spent a few days poking around with this issue, and had even opened a customer message for it (13641).
    In the end, it seems that the problem was somehow associated with the "Prepare this report for translation." flag in the "Save to BW Options" dialog box of Crystal Reports.  If we try to Save & Publish with the Translation flag selected, we get the duplicate entry error.  If we Save & Publish without the Translation flag selected, everything is fine.
    There are still some details we need to look into, but for the time being it looks like we don't have an issue anymore(assuming we ever did) as we're not concerned with Translation capabilities.
    If we come across the problem again, I'll post again.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Cannot refresh a stored procedure within a Crystal Report from Xcelsius

    Please help...Xcelsius 2008 & Live Office problem...
    What I am trying to do is to refresh a stored procedure that is within a Crystal report from within my Xcelsius dashboard in Preview mode. The data returned appears on the Xcelsius dashboard. It works fine in Design mode, just not in Preview or when published as a swf.
    1. I set up a Crystal Report using a Stored Procedure as the data provider.
    2. The Stored Procedure has a parameter built into it.
    3. When the report is refreshed within Crystal, the prompt dialog box is displayed; I fill in the desired value, and run. Everything comes back fine.
    4. Crystal Report is exported to the repository.
    5. In Excel, I inserted the Crystal Report using Live Office. It shows up as a Live Office object just fine.
    6. I bound an Excel cell to the prompt; when you change the value in the bound cell, the Live Office object refreshes and displays the correct results.
    7. In Xcelsius, I imported the Excel spreadsheet.
    8. I set up a Text component that is bound to the cell containing the parameter value. Also set up a Grid to display the results, and a Connection Refresh button to call the refresh. Added a Live Office Data Connection pointing to the Web Service URL for the report.
    Note: When in Designer mode, if the value of the bound cell is changed, the results in the grid change accordingly.
    9. When in Preview mode (or generated swf), if the Refresh button is pressed, a "User Identification" dialog box appears asking me to log on. The values it asks for are: System, User Name, Password, and Authentication. I enter the same credentials as are within the Live Office settings in Excel, (which are working correctly), but receive an error "soapenv:Server.generalException: Database logon failed.".
    Note - all the id's are synced up - Business Objects, Database, etc.
    I've tried all kinds of combinations, but nothing gets me past this error. If I use any other server than the one listed under System in Live Office, the error message is "soapenv:Server.generalException: Server XXXXX not found or server may be down".
    I've noticed that in Excel directly, when I open the spreadsheet and refresh the Live Office object, I am prompted to log on to the database where the stored procedure is being executed. This dialog box does not appear once the Excel sheet has been imported into Xcelsius. One of the combinations I tried in the "User Identification" dialog box was the name of the database server, that didn't work either.
    I also tried creating the Live Office object directly within the Excel spreadsheet in Xcelsius, but then I was unable to bind the prompt value. Could never get the Live Office/Properties menu to appear.
    Ideas? Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance!
    Stephanie

  • How to trigger crystal report from SAP ECC

    Hi All,
    I hope i m right forum to ask this question.
    we want to do label printing from Crystal reports. data will be present in SAP ECC .
    So I below issues
    1 ) how to connect SAP ECC database with Crystal Reports.
    2 ) how to trigger print output in Crystal reports from ECC , lets say I create a Delivery In ECC , the print output will be issued to Crystal report and I should get a print out Immediately ( for printing - printer will be connected to local system and SAP network printer ) .
    I have worked  with this type of scenario in smarforms , adobeforms. but not with Crystal Reports ...

    Hi Yashpal,
    First thing you need to do is install the Connector on both your work station where you run Crystal Reports as well as the SAP Server where the data is.
    So I moved your post to the SAP Integration Kit forum.
    Need to know what version of Crystal Reports you are using?
    Search of browse here, lots of info on how to...

  • Running a crystal report from a local machine

    HI guys i'm hoping someone can help me.
    I have created a silverlight / asp WEB application that has a crystal report in visual studio 2010.
    The problem i have is that i've deployed my website to a shared webhost that does not support crystal.
    Until i find a webhost that supports the new version of crystal reports for VS 2010, is there a way i can allow the user to run the report manually from their desktop?
    I noticed that installing the crystal reports runtimes and giving them the .rpt file does not allow them to open the file. Is there any other way?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
    Moved your post to the .NET SDK forum where 2010 is the only place it is supported, for now.
    Mmmmmm. There is a deployment package you can use to get CR runtime onto a WEB server but unless you can find a host who will allow you to do so you'll have to convert your app to a Windows application. Not too much work but there are definitely differences.
    To deploy your WEB app to a desktop each user would have to install and configure IIS. Although on Windows 7 with VS 2010 installed there is an interact WEB server, but I haven't looked into it that much or know what the licensing rules are around it. It may just be something VS 2010 installs and supports and you can't deploy.
    Sorry I have not heard of anyone either being the product is so new....
    Thank you

My problem now is i not sure which field i should i take from a which table when i look in R/3.I been provided a link, http://www.sap-img.com/sap-sd/important-tables-for-sap-sd.htm where i can check all the table for SD, PM n etc. For example, i go to t.code VA03 and search for an order, i see there is so many field. How do i know which field is from which table n row. Let said i want to pull the below information to my crystal report, how do i know which table and row i should take ? (this is just an example)
    PO Number, Po Date, Material, Order quantity, pricing date, net value and overall status
    Thank you

    Moved to Integration Kit forum.
    The people in this forum will know more about the data structure than the CR Design forum which typically doesn't know much about the SAP Data sources Structure.
