Importing a delimited flat file, what are the options?

Hi,
I need to import some data from an Informix database into oracle.
Informix exports it's data into a delimited flat file. Once I have created the schema, tables in Oracle whats the best way to import the data into Oracle?
Should I just create a massive SQL script with insert commands for each line or is there a better way?
any help/ideas appreciated.

SQLLoader and/or External tables are at least two options. These will be definitely faster than insert scripts.

What are the options if one iPad was stolen last week and Apple created a bug which the burglar can turn off "Find My Phone"?

Last week, my gf was stolen and lost her iPad. I thought that everything was lost because "Find My Phone" didn't manage to track the iPad location so the police could do something.
Today, I ended up reading this article (http://9to5mac.com/2014/04/03/ios-7-bug-allows-anyone-to-disable-find-my-iphone- and-bypass-activation-lock-without-a-password/) which tells me that the iOS 7.1 presents a bug where someone can deactivate the "Find My Phone" function without the password.
What are the options here so I can rehave the stolen iPad, which Apple helped the burglar to keep it or even sell it?

Apple didn't "help the burgler" do anything. Did she have a passcode on the device? If so, the thief would not have been able to access any of the functions needed to disable Find My Phone. Also, if the device doesn't show up in iCloud's Find My Phone, it may be that it is simply turned off, or not connected to a network.

Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

hi, guys, new to the forum, I just bought a thinkpad x130e during an on sale event at one of the local retailer, pretty excited, since i like the rugged design.
I am looking at an upgrade from 320G HDD to a 128G SSD... but i don't have any windows 7 installation disc handy, so what are the options for me to install the operating system (windows 7).
I don't know if there is a way to transfer the whole system from HDD to SSD? will there be any trick to perform? or simply i just have to purchase new copy of windows?
cos i noticed i do have a windows7 pro product key at the bottom of my thinkpad, i kinda don't want to waste the money.

You don't need to purchase another copy of Win7. You will need
1. SSD. This must be 7mm thick, not the more common 9.5mm thick.
2. USB enclosure for your HDD,
3. Software to "clone" the contents of your HDD to your SSD. Acronis True Image is a well-regarded package that does this. There are also some free utilities that can do this, however, I'm not familiar with them.
Procedure:
1. Move the HDD to the external enclosure.
2. Put the SSD in the X130e.
3. Reboot from the HDD. (You'll need to interrupt boot with Blue ThinkVantage button to specify.)
4. Install Acronis (or equivalent.)
5. Perform disk clone operation. You will need to tell the software how you want to resize partitions since you're going to a smaller disk.
6. Reboot from SSD.

You will have to force the iPad into recovery mode and data will be lost unless you have a backup.

There are many jre exe files: what are the differences and which I choose?

Having some problems, that I will describe in another message, I was looking for the latest jre.
I saw that on www.java.com there is 6 update 1, whereas on www.sun.com there is already 6 update 2. So, I would like to know when an update is made available on www.java.com and through automatic updates?

I understand that te iftw part means the it is a small download, only the setup module. But why there are some files that end with "-p", some with "-p-s", sm with "-i586"?

The question mark icon on the dlls indicates that LabVIEW is unsure of
the location of the DLL, or is unable to locate the DLL on your
system. This can happen if the DLLs do not exist, or if the "Call
Library Function Node" just specifies the name of the dll, and not the
entire path to the dll. IVI and Instrument driver VIs will
typically not supply the entire path to the DLL, whch would cause the
question mark icon to appear.

Hi everyone on the HCM community and BASIS,
We have ECC 6 on windows 64bit server. We are in the process of going live with HCM in SAP and are looking for the most effecient and secure method to print pay stubs.
we are also configuring online pay statements, however for go live we would like to be able to also print the pay stubs.
Currently we have the following method set up to print thru windows. We installed the sapsprint software on a file print server. the synchronization happens between SAP and the file print server with file print server name definition. SAP sends the print requests to the file print server which in turn prints the report/file and sends the confirmation back to SAP.
We do however have 2 printers which are directly defined on the server and restricted to ONLY staff assigned special priviledges for print A/P cheques in their area.
The NEW requirement is to have either a .PCL or .PDF file of ALL print stubs printed in our printshop. And I am not clear on how this would happen. Would we have to define a NEW printer in SAP with a specific driver to accomodate the printshop printer (depending on the type of printer that it is?)
Please keep in mind that the printers in the print shop are varied and sometimes used to print books, manuals etc.. I beleive they also have RICOH type printers similar to what we use in th office. And all of this would be done over the network.
So For now we just wanted to explore what would be required to print a PDF file , what SAP printer configurations would be required and secured and the same for the PCL files.
Any information would definitely be appreciated!!!

SAP supports PDF conversion in 2 way's:
1. Convert using program RSTXPDFT4 , RSTXPDFT2 , RSTXPDF
2. Convert using printer device type ZPDFxx

Additional details:
Print to a file printer which you set-up on Windows platform.
When you set 'Host Printer: __Default' in the output device definition
in SPAD, the print is automatically sent to the defualt Windows printer
as set up in the Frontend User's Windows PC. This is usually a regular
printer.
To get this to work, you need to set up a 'Print to File' printer in the
Windows print manager of your Frontend PC as follows:
    a. 'Settings' -> 'Printer' -> 'Add Printer'
    b. On the window that appears, click on 'Next' button.
    c. Select 'Local Printer' and click on 'Next'
    d. Select the port 'FILE Print to File'
    e. Select 'Generic/Text Only' driver
    f. Enter 'Printer Name' eg: PDFTEST
    g. Share as: eg: PDFTEST
    h .Finish
Then in the output device definition in transaction SPAD, you need to
set the Host Printer field to the same name as you defined your 'Print
to File' printer in the Windows.
e.g. in the example above, the setting would be:
Host Printer: PDFTEST

Not sure if I can say this, but I just installed version 5.02, and then loaded a project........... all I can say is...... Premiere with
this new video card that enables Mercury effects is almost better than sex !! LOL. I said "almost" now, let's not forget that :-)
Anyone who works with Premiere, and has been for years, and has now bought a new CUDA supported video card knows what I'm talking about.
My mouth dropped on the floor..... I loaded up 5 or 6 layers of graphic overlays, ... Premiere played that footage as it would with no effects,
I could not believe my eyes.
I then realized I had playback set at the best setting ! , that blew me away even more Harm. I just cannot get my head around how this is going to change my editing life.
A HUGE huge huge shout out to Adobe for doing this. You know how you can listen to others talking about something for months, and you just nod your head and say "that sounds great" , well you just don't fully appreciate just HOW GREAT it is, until you experience it yourself.
amazing is all I can say Harm ! I thank you for steering me in the correct direction some months ago, and I'm so happy I finally made the plunge !

R/3 HTTP GET to external supplier - what are the options

Our scenario is that we have to connect to an external supplier using HTTP GET to get our order responses in the return structure. I was wondering what the best/easiest way is to do this.
We cannot use the HTTP adapter since that only supports HTTP-POST. Additionally the RFC that lies behind it does not allow query strings in the definition, something we need to use.
we could make use of the HTTP_GET function module in the SFTP function group but how to do it then?
-we cannot create an abap proxy for this since the outbound WSDL contains invalid keywords (choice keyword not supported)
-we probably could use BPM that calls the HTTP_GET.
-we could write an ABAP that calls the HTTP_GET and puts the output into a directory where XI can pick it up.
-I also read that you could write a small java function that does the HTTP_GET . But i have no experience with this.
So what is the best option to accomplish this?

From SP15 you may use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes.
To evaluate adapter attributes in the message header of the XI message, set the Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes indicator.
     If you want missing message attributes to trigger an error message, set the Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing indicator. If the indicator is set and the header for adapter-specific message attributes or one of the set attributes is missing from the message, this leads to a system error (red flag).
If you do not set the indicator, and message attributes are missing, the adapter accesses information from the adapter configuration.
     If you want to use an HTTP destination or URL set by the mapping, set the URL or HTTP Destination indicator. (The indicator displayed depends on the Addressing Type you selected above). If you set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination set dynamically is called by HTTP.
If the message header does not contain the URL or the HTTP destination, and you have set the Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing indicator, the XI message is set to status System Error. If you do not set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination defined statically in the communication channel is used.
     If you want to use HTTP Header Fields, set the indicator and enter the fields in Field 1 to Field 6. The fields are embedded in the HTTP request under the names you enter here.
The technical names of the fields are HeaderFieldOne, .... HeaderFieldSix.
     If you want to use URL Parameters, set the indicator and enter the parameters in the fields Parameter 1 to Parameter 6. The parameters are embedded in the HTTP request under the names you enter here.
The technical names of the fields are URLParamOne, c, URLParamSix.
The attribute namespace for the adapter is http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP.
