Importing classes, and what happened to my libraries in Flash?

Good evening ladies and gents.
How do I import existing classes from an old CS3 Flash project.  I have a few classes that I'd really rather not rewrite but when I attempt an import the .as files Flash Builder requires that I build a new project.  Additionally, since I downloaded the new builder, I haven't been able to import the fl.controls.* in my Flash applications.  It's fine for now because I'm ramping up on Flash Builder and need to work in the new dev environment for awhile but in 28 days, I can't really have my Flash software in limbo.  Any insight?  Also in the same thread as the first inquiry, I downloaded the google Flex components from the intro to FB4 links, a quick explanation on incorporating the new componenets would help too since I can't seem to recapture the page where I found the link.  Thanks.

Hi James,
I may be misunderstanding your situation but I think you need to create at least one new project in Flash Builder in order to use your AS classes.  After created your porject, you can either import your AS classes using Import -> General -> File System into your project, or set a class path to your classes by going Project properites -> Build Path then addind a parent folder of your classes to Source path.
Thank you,
-Yukari

  • I recently downloaded Parallels 9 to my imac so I could install Windows 7 Home Premium and had no trouble everthing is working fine the only question I have is is there a benefit to migrating the 2 together and what happens when I do Thanks.  Ricco

    I recently downloaded Parallels 9 to my imack so I could install Windows 7 Home Premiumwith no problem and everthing is working fine, and I was thinking of Migrating the 2 2 and was wondering what benefits there would be and what happens when I do.

    Windows 7 will peer down through the VM and remember what hardware the VM is installed on. Migrate the VM to different Mac hardware, and on first boot, Windows 7 will advise you that you are not using genuine Microsoft Windows. It will then treat you as though it believes you misappropriated it.

  • Problem importing classes and beans

    Hey there. Im having one major fustrating problem! When I code supporting classes and beans for my JSPs I get a code 500 internal server error when trying to import (via <%@ page import="class" %> and <jsp:useBean/>) Im storing my classes and beans in the WEB-INF folder and the calling JSPs are located in /ROOT/tests/8/jsp.jsp. Im using the following to import a class or bean:
    <%@ import="aClass" %>
    Seen as tho its in the WEB-INF folder I won't have to explicitly refer to where the class is located, just the class name.
    I never had this problem when I was using my hosting service. Its only on my localhost server in which I get the Internal Server error.
    Help appreciated, thx.
    PS: Im quite new to JSP/Java Servlet.

    import (via <%@ page import="class" %> and
    <jsp:useBean/>) Im storing my classes and beans in the
    WEB-INF folder try put your class file in WEB-INF/classes.
    or first put bean in the package, like WEB-INF/classes/packagename/beanclass
    in jsp page:
    <jsp:useBean id="Mybean" class="packagename.beanclass" scope="request" />
    Question: is /ROOT a context entry in your server.xml?
    Which JSP Container (version) you use? Maybe your localhost server's set up is different with your hosting.

    my mac disk is full and i cant transfer files from Mac to USB. saying the format is not good, how can i change the format and what happened to the files i have on USB?

    Once something similar happened to me. The external drives I had set up for FCP to use for some reason were not mounted, and FCP put all its render files on the main drive and I couldn't find them anywhere.
    Go to applications, and control-click (and hold down) on your FCP icon; you should get a pop up menu that says "show package contents". Select that, select the "contents" folder, then the "mac OS" folder. See if your quicktime file is in there, or if you've got render files in the "render" folder or audio render files in the "audio render" folder that don't belong there.
    That's where FCP sticks stuff when your documents FCP project folders are not available or when external drives you've selected aren't available.

  • What are Wrapper classes and what are they used for ?

    What are Wrappter classes and what are they used for ?..Also, any examples would be great to understand this concept

    Wrapper classes are used to enclose primitive data
    types so that they can be used in instances where an
    object is required. For example, if you want to add an
    integer to an ArrayList, you can't use this:java.util.List al = new ArrayList();
    int i=123;
    al.add(i);because the ArrayList expects data of type object. In
    order to all the integer to the ArrayList, you must wrap
    it in the Integer wrapper class. This works:java.util.List al = new ArrayList();
    int i=123;
    al.add(new Integer(i));Hope that helps.

  • TS2972 I just updated all of our computers to itunes 11 and now when we try to use our home sharing, we can't import songs.  What happened to the easily located "import song" feature?  I wish now that I wouldn't have updated to the new itunes 11.

    I recently updated all of the computers in the house to itunes 11.  Now when we try to import songs from homesharing, we are unable to.  What happened to the conveniently located "import song" button on the old version of itunes.  Please help an old mother out please!

    diesel vdub, i use 11.1.1
    solved the issue today. first sync with itunes, so all the stiff you bought on the mobile will be backuped.
    1. uncheck sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be erased from mobile device
    2. check music player on the mobile device. just the unwanted songs will still be there
    3. go on the iphone to settings, general, usage, music player. there is just a few mb from the remaining unwanted songs. swipeleft and erase the content. switch iphone off and on again
    4. repeat step 2. there will be no data. otherwise repeat step 3
    5. check sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be back again but not the unwanted songs.

  • How do I install iLife 8 and what happens to all my old projects?

    I want to buy and install iLife 8 but as I have never upgraded to a new version before I don't know how you do this (apart from purchasing it of course).
    Step by step, how do you install the disc?
    What happens to all my existing and work in progress iMovie and iDVD projects? Can I continue to work on them or should I wait until I have finished them before upgrading?

    If you have a book started in iPhoto 6 then you might want to make a backup copy of the library and the application as some book themes are not included in iPhoto 7. iPhoto 7 will continue to work with that theme but if you switch to another to see what it looks like you can't go back. Another approach is to make a copy of the book in iPhoto 6 for backup just in case, select it and type Command-D.
    It apperars that the new large hardcover books have printed dust jackets with the cover photo instead of the photo on the hard cover.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Import from catalog: what happens to this catalog ?

    Hello everyone!
    I follow Scott Kelbys LR3 book for transferring my work from my studio laptop to my main processing computer in my office using the EXPORT TO CATALOG technique.
    So then I transfer the folder to where I keep my LR pictures in MY  COMPUTER. Then I IMPORT AS Catalog into LR.
    QUESTION: What happens to the LRcat and LRdata file I imported afterwards? Are they copied or otherwise incorporated into my MAIN LRcat or is it safe to DELETE the imported LRCAT  & LRDATA files because they are now part of the MAIN catalog?
    I hope this is clear...   Thanks!

    I'm almost certain you can delete the catalog you imported from. But to be sure, you could create an exported catalog with one image in it, import it into your main catalog, then delete the one you imported from and see what happens.

  • Cloning Hdd to SSD boot drive and what happens with Music/Logic Plugins

    Hi, my computer is a mid-2012 Mac Pro 12 Core
    It's a great computer but I'm considering upgrading my main boot drive (WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD) to a 1tB Samsung EVO 840 SSD drive (I'm using a sonnet tempo PCI card to mount an SSD that holds audio at the moment and will add another SSD for the boot drive I'm referring to) so I just had a question - if I clone the HDD to the new SSD, what happens with things like licenses for my audio plugins, such as Native Instruments Komplete, programs by IKMultemedia. programs that use an ILOK such as Steven Slate Plugins and also, WAVES plugins?  Will this info all carry across to the new SSD drive or do you think I'll need to reauthorise some things?  I have all the serials etc so this shouldn't be an issue, but just wondered.
    Any help would be appreciated as it feels like quite a big step in that it's my main system drive!
    Thanks in advance
    Sam

    CCC is excellent. If it doesn't work then sure, just always have a safety net of your system that is untouched.
    Also, after a clean install, CLONE it!
    And then use Setup Assistant. Migration Assistant.
    Clone of the system can go on sparse disk images too so you don't have to partition (should have at least one though) and you can have clone from different stages and versions: 10.9.4, without Setup Assistant, migrated, full loaded with all your apps. Multiple versions.
    CCC is designed to make a working bootable copy of a system so you can move the system to another boot device like hdd and SSDs without the worry.
    But I think we were talking about a system that did not see a clean install of Mountain Lion or Mavericks so it is over due for one!

    My wife and I generate a fair amount of paperwork from our home office. We are a Mac family and the setup was seamless aI do a lot of  wireless printing and scanning and it works like a charm. I particularly liked the two sided printing and the speed.

    I couldn't agree more!  I have used many printers at work and assigned many as well. I typically use laser printers for the obvious reasons. I purchased the epson WF-3540 for the H.R. dept due to certain demands (needed fax mach, needed auto duplex print and scan capabilities, needed e-print, needed to print on envelopes and needed to print in color) Speed was a factor as was ink usage and cost. This printer claimed to meet all those needs while using little ink. I was shocked at how fast this thing was.It scans like a dream. Needless to say this is basically the only printer I purchase now and everyone I got it for LOVES it. Great job Epson

  • Importing classes and performance

    Is there any difference in performance between importing all the package and importing only the needed classes. I am doing an applet project and as it first must download the classes I wonder if it may be faster to import just the needed classes instead of all of the package.

    Is there any difference in performance between
    importing all the package and importing only the
    needed classes. I am doing an applet project and as
    it first must download the classes I wonder if it may
    be faster to import just the needed classes instead
    of all of the package.Importing has zero effect at runtime. It does NOT cause any classes to be "downloaded" or loaded or anything like that. If you import everything.* or specific classes or nothing at all, the generated byte code will be identical, and the VM will do exactly the same thing.
    Importing only matters at compile time. It just lets you use, for example, List instead of java.util.List, and the compiler then figures out what you mean by List.
    Having said that, it's generally considered better form to import specific classes. This makes it easier for somebody reading your code later (including you) to see which classes came from where.

  • Trim (SSD) in 10.6.7 - ? and what happens to the SSD if not?

    Am I up to date in assuming that there is no way to know when 10.6.7 will be released or whether it'll allow for using the trim function on SSDs (for all, not bizarrely just for new MacBooks)? And, second question, if 10.7 will indeed provide this function for all who's hardware permits it (like all MacPro, I guess)—what will happen to an SSD when in use for, say, 4 months without trimming? Will it degrade irreversibly, or will the use of that trim function then set it to the state it would have been in when trimming for 4 months constantly?
    thanks a lot

    There are a number of users, and threads, about using SSDs.
    TRIM is an OS level feature.
    OWC switched to Sand Force and the SF controllers have their own background garbage collection. I haven't seen much about the newest SF-2000s yet.
    Allow for over provisioning (when I formatted a couple SSDs, Disk Utility seem to 'map' 5GB or 10%, not sure which, so maybe it sets aside some). I just would get a drive that has extra space.
    You'll find Wikipedia has excellent articles on SSD, TRIM, write amplification and more. And Diskeeper blog has an article on the inner workings of SSD.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Write_amplification
    No it won't be irreversible if there is some. Just keep a backup clone though. And keep SSD to just OS and apps, or if using for scratch, but use a standard mechanical drive for all your data and other purposes.

    There is a whole section devoted to SSD (70% down the page)

    The rest deals in speculation. Old axiom, we'll know when it gets there, not until.
