Importing Java API into Bean Component

Hello,
I have some java code that has the following import statements.
import oracle.forms.api.IObject;
import oracle.forms.handler.IHandler;
import oracle.forms.properties.ID;
import oracle.forms.ui.CustomEvent;
import oracle.forms.ui.VBean;
I am using JDeveloper and am trying to find these libraries and put them in my library path.
Anyone know where I get these?
Thanks for your help.

Use have to include the frmall.jar, it should be in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/java

  • Importing the Java API into basic programs

    How do I import the API that comes with the JDK1.3 into my programs ? Is it a case of simply import java.api.*; ??
    Does the new 1.3 version of the compiler include a Javabook which can be imported into programs. I have a text book which has sample programs which import Javabook. When I come to compile them, the compiler reports that Javabook is not known. Is Javabook from an earler version of the java compiler ?

    It depends on what you want to do just as an example if you wanted to create a window app with a textfield you would need to import the necessary classes. Here is a sample of a JFrame with a text field:
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class Frame1 extends JFrame
    BorderLayout borderLayout1 = new BorderLayout();
    JPanel jPanel1 = new JPanel();
    JTextField jTextField1 = new JTextField();
    public Frame1()
    super();
    try
    jbInit();
    catch (Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    private void jbInit() throws Exception
    this.getContentPane().setLayout(borderLayout1);
    this.setSize(new Dimension(400, 300));
    jTextField1.setText("jTextField1");
    this.getContentPane().add(jPanel1, BorderLayout.CENTER);
    jPanel1.add(jTextField1, null);
    Note the import statements of java.awt.*; and javax.swing.*; this tells the compiler the to look for all the files needed to create this frame. The compiler already knows what it needs from the API, you just have to tell it where to look.
    In short JavaBook should either come with the book on CD ROM or you have to download it from the publisher. Also check and see what files you need to import and use the import statement to point to the file that it needs: for example
    import JavaBook.*;
    Hope this helps

  • Error with TaskSearchFilter using Java APIs in custom component

    I have created a custom Java component for use in LC Process Mgr.
    Upon invoke of process containing component, component fails with the following message:
    2011-02-28 16:28:31,260 ERROR [com.adobe.workflow.AWS] Cannot coerce object: [email protected]41 of type: com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskSearchFilter to type: class com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskSearchFilter
    Code is pretty basic:
            ServiceClientFactory myFactory = ServiceClientFactory.createInstance();
            TaskManagerQueryService queryManager = TaskManagerClientFactory.getQueryManager(myFactory);
            TaskSearchFilter filter = new TaskSearchFilter();
            filter.addCondition(TaskSearchingConstants.pSTATUS, Operator.EQUALS, "3");
            List<TaskRow> result = queryManager.taskSearch(filter);
    Error seems to occur with the creation of the List. This code works ok when run as standalone file in either Eclipse or Netbeans but not within the component.
    All necessary JARs are included and are listed in the class-path in component.xml.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    David

    Looks like a class loader issue.  Usually this is caused by having the a class (TaskSearchFilte) in your component that on the server.   In other words there are two copies of the TaskSearchFilte class - yours and the one already in LiveCycle - and they are in conflict.
    If that's the case, the solution is simple:
    remove the jar files containing the TaskSearchFilte (and any other LiveCycle clients) from your component's jar file.  You may need them in the build path, so your code can compile - but you don't need them in the final component jar.
    remove the references to these jar files from the component.xml file's class-path entry
    add an import-packages section to your component.xml file.  This will not reference the jar files, but the package names themselves.  For example:
    <import-packages>
         <package version="1.0">com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskSearchFilter</package>
         <!--  add more as needed -->
    </import-packages>

    Do you see oracle/jdeveloper listed in "Import Java Classes" when you try to import?
    If not, make sure you add C:\DevSuiteHome_1\jdev\lib\jdev.jar to FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH in registry
    Also excetion indicates: oracle/jdeveloper/webservices/runtime/WrappedDocLiteralStub
    If you typing it - type: oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.runtime.WrappedDocLiteralStub

  • Importing Java class problem!

    Hello
    I have problem by Importing java class into form. When I select in Forms Builder from menu: Programs/Import Java Classes it returns error: PDE-UJI001 JVM not able to create!
    Can someone know what I must do to fix that problem?
    Thanks, Chrity

    It is a shame because it, probably, contains no special 1.5 new instruction at all.
    Maybe it would be possible to try replacing the current JDK/JRE of your <ORACLE_HOME>/jdk installation after a safe backup of course.
    You probably have a very little chance that it works, and it also won't be supported.

  • Building customize component using java API

    Hi,
    Appreciate for hepls... being trying this for few days...:(
    I am trying to build a customize component to use in a process using adobe java API. I follow the document and include all the necessary lib files. It compiled with no errors. And I pack it into JAR file and deploy to the workbench, no error. Then I call the customized component method and it throw the error as below, is merely cause by "Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.TaskManagerClientFactory

    What did I miss out? I include the libs file as stated in the document. Do I need to specify the class-path in a manifest file? How? It is not mentioned in the document. Is the "adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar" pack in one of the ear or war file in the App server's (I'm using websphere) installedApp directory?
    Really appreciate for help... Is there any documents describing the deployment details. The sdk document is not very detail...

    Thanks WorkflowUser,
    I manage to solve the NoClassDefFound problem in any other way. Will try your method.
    What I do is I add the adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar file to my customize component jar file (at root). And I add the classpath tag for the adobe-taskmanager-client-sdk.jar to the component.xml file. But when the customise component is run at a process. Another problem occured. I got an exception "com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskRowImpl incompatible with com.adobe.idp.taskmanager.dsc.client.query.TaskRow".
    It is cause by the following code,
    TaskManager myTaskManager = TaskManagerClientFactory.getTaskManager(myFactory);
    TaskFilter filter = queryProcess.newTaskFilter();
    StatusFilter sf = filter.newStatusFilter();
    sf.addStatus(StatusFilter.completed);
    filter.setStatusFiltering(sf);
    List result = queryProcess.taskList(filter);
    Iterator iter = result.iterator();
    int i = 0 ;
    while (iter.hasNext()) {
    TaskRow myTask = (TaskRow)iter.next(); //CAUSE BY THIS!!!
    long taskId = myTask.getTaskId();
    I try using this: TaskRowImpl myTask = (TaskRowImpl)iter.next();
    also give exception error. Does it have to do with the compilation, the java version. My websphere is runing 1.5, and I compile using the same version... Any ideal? Thanks...

    It isn't quite as simple as just "importing" your java code if your goal is to have the forms and the java app communicate with each other. Interaction occurs when a properly designed Java Bean is created.
    Take a look at some of the examples on the following page as they can likely provide you with a good starting place:

  • Import metadata using owb java api

    Hi,
    We are working on a tool to atomize some OWB projects and therefore we chosen to use the OWB java api. Now we wanted to import oracle tables metadata into our new created project,
    the problem is that is not very clear how to do it. We tryed using classes like ActionPlanCmdExecuter or ImportActionPlanCmdExecuter but with no success.
    Is there anybody who did this before and can point me in the right direction?
    Regards and have a nice holiday,
    Cipi

    Hi
    There are a couple of options;
    1. You can just write the code as an OMB script, since the OMB runs in a JACL container you can intermix OMB and java.
    See the java:: commands which you can use to invoke java from within tcl;
    http://tcljava.sourceforge.net/docs/TclJava/contents.html
    2. There is an OMBEngine class that lets you execute OMB commands from within java that works like the following;
    import oracle.owb.scripting.OMBEngine;
    import tcl.lang.TclObject;
    import tcl.lang.TclList;
    * This is an example showing some basic use of <code>OMBEngine</code> class.
    * It executes several OMBPlus commands through <code>OMBEngine</code>. For
    * most commands it just display the result. For one OMBLIST command, it also
    * loops through the elements in the return list, and displays them one by one.
    public class OMBEngineExample1
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    try {
    OMBEngine engine = new OMBEngine();
    String rslt = engine.executeStr("OMBCONNECT IM_DESIGNER/xxxx@localhost:1521:ora112");
    System.out.println("OMBCONNECT result: " + rslt);
    rslt = engine.executeStr("OMBLIST PROJECTS");
    System.out.println("OMBLIST PROJECTS result: " + rslt);
    rslt = engine.executeStr("OMBCC 'MY_PROJECT'");
    System.out.println("OMBCC result: " + rslt);
    TclObject objRslt = engine.execute("OMBLIST ORACLE_MODULES");
    System.out.println("OMBLIST ORACLE_MODULES result as string: " + objRslt);
    // now get each object from the list and print it individually...
    System.out.println("OMBLIST ORACLE_MODULES result as list of TclObject:");
    for (int i = 0; i < TclList.getLength(engine.getInterp(),objRslt); i++) {
    TclObject to = TclList.index(engine.getInterp(), objRslt, i);
    System.out.println(" Object " + i + ": " + to);
    rslt = engine.executeStr("OMBDISCONNECT");
    System.out.println("OMBDISCONNECT result: " + rslt);
    System.exit(0);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.exit(1);
    Happy New Year to you too! Excuse my late reply!

  • Need help for traping imported java bean exception

    hi everyone
    i have imported a java bean into my forms 9i using java importer utility which tries to rename a file on a give path(bean works fine when executed through sql client).
    i have problem when called from when button pressed trigger, it throws me an ("FRM-40735 and ORA-105101 NON ORACLE EXCEPTION") error.
    i have imported java.lang.exception class and constructed an exception handler to trap java exception in the trigger
    as
    EXCEPTION
         WHEN ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR then
              message('Unable to call out to Java, ' ||ORA_JAVA.LAST_ERROR);
              --check for ORA-105101
         WHEN ORA_JAVA.EXCEPTION_THROWN THEN
              ex:= ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;
              message('Java Exception --: '||BIException.toString(ex));
              ORA_JAVA.CLEAR_EXCEPTION;
         WHEN OTHERS THEN
              message('error :'||SQLERRM);
    when i imported java.lang.exception i did not find any wrapper pl/sql function or procedure declared to read or get the error messages except for the functions named "new" ,my exception handler failed.
    so i tried with BIException which also fails to trap the error i have no idea about BIException and its usage with in forms ,Please do help me out with this issue ASAP.
    thanks in advance
    Rgds
    yash

    Hi,
    don't understand what the BIException is supposed to do in your code, can you try
         WHEN ORA_JAVA.EXCEPTION_THROWN then
         ex := ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;
         message('Exception: '||Exception_.toString(ex));
    where Exception_ is the imported java.lang.Exception package.

  • Merging any type of documents into existing PDF using Adobe Java APIs

    We know that latest Adobe Acrobat tool can convert any type
    of documents into PDF. We need the same functionality to be built
    in into our java code by using Adobe's Java APIs. I am sure that
    Adobe has some readily available Java APIs to handle such
    requirements.
    FYI: We don't want Adobe's tool to handle this and we want
    Adobe's available Java API to handle this merging functionality
    programatically. We are ready to pay for it.

    I'm not 100 percent sure but I'm afraid the way you want to use this Web-service is far from what SAP/Adobe thought it should be used. Take a look at SAP Library [here |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/f2/21021b911f4c0cae11459a4ce0bc62/frameset.htm] and [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/8d/1cbf69fff9454ca9c5de84182e4bfb/frameset.htm]. This solutions relies on previously created PDF Form Template - that means, e.g. tables are not rendered as if being printed with any number of columns and rows, but components of data tables coming from SAP are injected in rows/columns of the form where they were planned to be during template design.
    Additionally I think your idea of such usage of Adobe Document Services is not covered with software license you have as SAP customer/partner. Once again, I'm not 100% sure about it.
    Still, my opinion is that you won't succeed in it anyway due to the logic of the solution.
    Special PDF manipulation components will do the job better and easier, and nearly of them have demo/trial versions. So, if you ask me, don't waste your time and check special components.
