Impossible to scan with à MP610 canon and a Airport express

I print with à canon MP610 on a Airport express, but it is impossible to scan withit.
help me .....

Sorry, but Canon and other manufacturers have not provided full featured drivers to allow advanced functions when their devices are connected to the USB port on the AirPorts......which is how I assume that you are connecting.
If you need advanced features like scan, copy, fax, maintenance etc., you will need to connect the All-in-One directly to your computer.
You might want to contact Canon Support directly to ask them if they plan to offer full featured drivers in the future.

  • Can you help with D-link and two airport express stations

I currently run a Dlink 604 wireless and 1 Airport express for iTunes in my front room.
A Express is also linked to the Dlink via a cable.
All works fine - G4 dual running OS x 10.3.9
I would like help with a couple of things please:-
    1. I have no current security on my Express, so anybody can use the net connection through it. How do I change this and still be able to use my tower and laptop?
    2. I have a second Express from work that I would like to use upstairs. It does work but requires me to swap the network to use it for iTunes and then I have no internet.
It was formatted at work so has different ip numbers etc.
Can I make this station join my exisitng network?
As my lap top is wireless will I be able to surf through it upstairs?
    Thanks
    JohnO

    1. You need to open the Express's configuration in Airport Admin Utility and change the Wireless Security settings to WEP or, preferably, WPA or WPA2. When you attempt to connect to the network from your computers, you will be prompted for the password.
    2. The easiest thing to do is to hard reset the second Express and then use the Airport Setup Assistant to configure the second Express to join and extend the first Express's network. To do a hard reset, hold down the reset button until the LED starts flashing rapidly.
BTW, I know it can work because I have the exact same setup (D-Link DI-604 and two Expresses in an extended wireless network).

  • Anybody have experience with Directv receivers and an airport express?

Specifically, I have 3 HR24-500's connected to the whole home DVR service. I want to connect them to the internet. I have an Airport Time Capsule as my router and I also have an airport express ready to go but cant seem to configure everything to work together. The airport express is working as it currently brings an internet connection to all of my other components via a 4 port switch but I cant seem to get the DVR to work. It shows its connected to the network but no internet. Im very frustrated. Please help.
    Thank you in advance.

The Internet hook up should have been performed by the DirectTV installer. There is a specific procedure for this involving the Whole Home equipment.
It would probably be best to have a DirectTV installer hook this up for you, but the Direct TV help forums might be able to provide you with a step by step procedure.
    http://forums.directv.com/
A note of caution...the Whole Home setup is not supported over a wireless connection. There's just not enough bandwidth available over a wireless connection to provide reliable high definition video performance. The DirectTV installer will not hook up the Internet connection unless it is hard wired back to your main router using an Ethernet or special Co-Ax connection.

  • Problem with "Epson Stylus SX110 (or SX115)" and the Airport Express

    Hello,
I connect my printer on my airport express, via wifi connection. And the airport express doesn't recognize the printer (via the airport express utility)
When I connect my previous printer (a canon), it works well.
Thanks if you met this pb, to help me

    Hi All,
I have intel based macbook pro running OSX 10.6.2, airport express with a connected EPSON Stylus SX115.
I discovered two issues with using the printer via my Airport Express:
    1. I had to use the driver called 'Epson Stylus SX 100'. It ships with the op system. (note: NOT the 'Epson SX 100' !!! There is also one called like that, but it does not work for me...). When I tried to use the sx 110 driver, the printing stopped half way. Strange enough the sx 110 driver works ok when the printer is connected via a USB cable
    2. Now the more annoying problem.
It takes ages before the airport express discovers the printer!!! After I scanned via an USB cable, I reconnected the printer to the Airport express. Printing was dead. Next I followed the Apple provided troubleshooting (restart sequence, etc). No success, the airport still couldn't find the connected printer, so I was getting really ******…..
The solution I propose, as it worked for me already more than once on my macbook pro, is the following:
    1. Connect the printer to the Airport Express, switch the printer on and, and restart AE via the AE utility (Just to make your consciousness rest.):
    - Start Airport Utility: you can find the program by typing the name in spotlight
    - right click on the on the Icon of your Airport Express on the right of the window
    - Issue a restart (It takes some seconds to complete!)
    2. WAIT! As annoying it is, it takes about 15-30 min before Airport express discovers the printer.
    3. In System Preferences/Print&Fax add the printer: (NOTE: This is an optional step, in case the printer is set up the first time, otherwise skip to step 5. )
    - On the right, at the bottom of the Printers sub window, click on the + sign. This opens the Add Printer dialogue
    - In the Add Printer dialogue you should be able to see now your Epson printer discovered by Bonjour. Highlight it by clicking on it. (If you don't see your printer, you might have been impatient and waited to little after you connected the printer to the airport express, or you have some problem I did not have…)
    - At the bottom open the 'Print Using:' drop-down box, and choose the 'Select Printer' option. This opens a new dialogue. Scroll down to 'Epson Stylus SX 100 - Gutenprint v5.2.3'. Click on it, and press OK. This closes the 'Select Printer' dialogue
    - Back at the Add Printer dialogue, change the name of your printer to something more meaningful, to 'Epson SX 115 - Wireless' for example.
    - click ad
    4. Back at the Print & Fax dialogue, now you should see a new printer icon on the left with the name you just gave, and with an icon that does not look at all like your printer.
    5. Congratulations, you are done. You should be able to print now.
    I hope it helps

On my home PC, I operate with Windows XP and use Outlet Express for my email.  Can my Outlook Express address list be imported to my IPhone4

Not directly; OE is not supported by iTunes. You need full Outlook. Address Book in later versions of Windows is supported.

  • Trouble with iTune and multiple airport express

    Hi,
I have a wifi network at home, a PC with windows XP and iTunes, and two airport express stations in other rooms.
I can't figure out why iTunes sometimes sees the "other speakers" (ie airport express stations), sometimes don't, and sometimes sees only one of the two.
The leds are always green on the remote stations, and they are seen in the airport administrator.
Closing iTunes and running it again usually helps (but not always)
Is that something anyone already experienced ?
    Thx for help.
    Nico

It has been working fine for two days nows, and this morning : no express stations on iTunes...
And they are neither seen in the Aiport Admin utility .

  • Poor network speed with 1st generation time capsule and multiple airport express 5Ghz. My network speed slows to a crawl when not close to the time capsule. I get the range that I need, but the speed is painfully slow.

    Hello,
I have a first generation time capsule running 802.11n (b/g compatable) and the airport expresse's are the newer 5ghz models. I have 3 airport express's and I have the range that I need. I can run the time capsule using 802.11n 5ghz, but I loose the range and can't connect to all of the airport express's. My computers and mobile devices run 802.11n. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase the network speed. Would the new airport extreme fix the problem?
    Thank you

Unfortunately, you are experiencing one of the downsides to 5 GHz. That's because the higher frequency 5 GHz signals are much weaker than 2.4 GHz signals.
After all, you always have to give up something to gain something else. In the case of 5 GHz, you gain potential speed but in return, you must give up penetration power and distance capability.
In order to work well, 5 GHz signals need to almost have a line-of-sight relationship between devices. Unless you can achieve this, you will do much better to leave the Time Capsule running at the 802.11n (b/g compatible) 2.4 GHz Radio Mode and allow the Express devices to "extend" that network.
As for the location of the AirPort Express devices in an exended network, that is critical for best performance. That's because the Express can only "extend" the quality and bandwidth of the signal that it receives. Post back if you need a few more tips on how to find the best location for the AirPort Express devices.
Would the new airport extreme fix the problem?
    Unfortunately, no.

  • I have an Apple TV and an Airport Express, can I use these to stream all audio from either my iPhone or my MacBook Pro, including Pandora?

I have purchased an Apple TV and an Airport Express as a gift for a loved one and was under the impression that these two would not only allow for movies, videos etc would be streamed to the TV from my MacBook Pro, but also set up Airport Express with speakers and stream music from my laptop or iPhone.  Is there a way for all music, including Pandora, to be streamed through the Airport Express?  I can only figure out how it works with iTunes, not Pandora.
    Thanks for the help!!!

  • I recently (Jan 2012) acquired a MacBook Pro (MBP) running 10.7.4 and an AirPort Express.  I also have an old PPC G4 tower (Digital Audio model) running 10.4.11.  The OS software on both machines is totally up to date.  AirPort Utility on the G4 is 5.4.2

I recently (Jan 2012) acquired a MacBook Pro (MBP) running 10.7.4 and an AirPort Express.  I also have an old PPC G4 tower (Digital Audio model) running 10.4.11.  The OS software on both machines is totally up to date.  AirPort Utility on the G4 is 5.4.2 and on 6.0 on the MBP.  I bought a used AirPort card for the G4, I believe it is 802.11b compatible, and the wireless data rate is specified at 11 Mbps.  Being a newbie to wireless, it took me many days to get these two machines to link up.  This network is not connected to the internet, and there no other networks in the vicinity.
My last problem to solve is the very slow file transfer speeds between the two machines. The transfer time seems to vary depending on which machine I use to initiate the transfer, and which direction the transfer is going.  For example: If I initiate the transfer from the G4 and send a 5.4MB file to the MBP it takes 1:32 (min:sec), while the same file going from the MBP to the G4 takes 27 seconds.  On the other hand if the transfer is initiated on the MBP, going from the MBP to the G4 takes 2:56, while going from the G4 to the MBP takes 1:59.  I realize that these times are not actual wireless transfer times but includes the entire transfer process.
Both machines and the AirPort Express are within a 4-foot radius.  Both machines are set to radio channel 2.  The AirPort Express is set for 802.11n(802.11b/g compatible) with WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    BDAqua,
    Thanks for the response.
Apple has used the term "Digital Audio" to identify this machine.  System Profiler has the following information:
    Machine Name:          Power Mac G4
      Machine Model:          PowerMac3,5
      CPU Type:          PowerPC G4  (2.1)
      Number Of CPUs:          1
      CPU Speed:          800 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):          256 KB
      Memory:          768 MB
      Bus Speed:          133 MHz
      Boot ROM Version:          4.3.3f2
      Serial Number:          XBxxxxxMK9
      Sales Order Number:
Yes, I could connect them by ethernet if all I wanted to do was transfer files, but I would like to network them so I could use wireless internet.  The machines are not always so close together, I did that to simplify the testing.  With the very slow transfer speeds I am reluctant to move ahead with the internet step.

  • How to set up and configure AirPort Express for AirPlay and iTunes

Saw somewhere that supposedly there were some apple written guidlines on the above topic. I have searched all over for them. Anyone know where I can get a copy to read through. Just trying to educate myself a bit and sety up another room with access to itunes, radio, etc with high quality speakers and amp off my express.

    Here you go ...
How to set up and configure AirPort Express for AirPlay and iTunes

  • Attempted to set up an HP wireless printer and my whole network is now a mess.  HP help told me I had too many signals, as I have a Time Capsule 4 Macs and 4 Airport Express set up.  Anyone else figure this out?

I attempted to set up a new HP wireless printer.  It is unstable and HP support says I have too many devices since I have a time capsule and 4 airport express either extending my network or being used for a different printer or stereos.  Anyone else find that their Airport Express/Extreme interferes with a wireless printer. If so, what's the point?

I have a similar model, the  HP 8500A here in the home office that I originally hooked up using wireless on an AirPort system consisting of an AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule and 2 AirPort Express devices.
The HP was originally hooked up to the "main" router using wireless as a test to see how wireless would perform. No issues with setup or performance over the first few weeks. I did eventually change the device to connect using Ethernet once I had room to move the device near the AirPort Extreme.
HP is pulling your leg with the advice about too many devices. The AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule will handle up to 50 wireless devices. In my case, I did nothing except follow the setup procedure and restart the entire network....something that I always do when I make any change to the network.

  • MBA 13 (late 2020) and older Airport Express

Visiting a friend where I have installed an Airport Express way back and where I usually connect my MacBook generations, I found that my new MBA would not connect.
First, "cannot find any preferred network"
When selecting the adequate network, with the password from Keychain, I get "connection timeout"
Quitting, after some retries, I don't see my network at all.
Turning Airport off and then on again, I can again see my Network, but same procedure, even when I type the password instead of letting Keychain provide it.
Airport Utility coud not find the Airport Express, until connected via Ethernet and resetting the Airport Express would not help.
And - all the while my iPhone 4 worked wonderfully with the network through the same Airport Express...
Is there a version requirement for Airport Express when it comes to the latest MBA?
    Thanks for any input.

I just brought home my new 13 inch Macbook Air, and have been having horrible problems with the airport express. My setup is as follows:
Airport Extreme base station in the lower level.
Airport Express setup to extend the network on the main level, and plugged into audio system.
Airport Express setup to extend the network on the upper level with USB printer attached
Both Airport express are about a year old.
This has been working great with my 2 year old macbook pro and various iDevices for quite some time.
Now, the Macbook air will connect, but it gets horrible throughput, and it only keeps the connection alive for about 10 minutes before all network traffic stops. I can still see that it has an IP address, and normally renewing the DHCP lease will get me another 10 minutes. Sometimes I need to turn AirPort Off/On to get going again. I think I've been seeing a very similar problems with the pre-release iOS 4.2. Just upgraded to the released 4.2.1 so who knows...
Finally, in desperation I unplugged both Airport Express and have just been using the extreme, I get great speed and the connection has been completely reliable.
Any ideas on what might be causing the problems with the airport express??
    Thanks

  • TimeCapsule and 2 AirPort Express (11n) - cant get WDS to work

Hopefully someone can help me - I am running out of ideas ...
Its about a Time Capsule (TC) and 2 AirPort Express 11n (Express 1 and Express2). Express1 is supposed to extend the TC's WLAN so that Express2 can join in.
My WLAN is set to 11n only - 2.4GHz, but I have tried other radio modes as well. I "allow this network to be extended". I have set up Express1 to "Extend my Wireless network". Everything fine so far. TC and Express1 are coming up with the green light.
Now I try to set up Express2 to join the WDS as a remote base station connecting to Express1. In Express2 I choose "Manual Setup":
"Base Station": assigned a name (Express2) and I set a new Password
"Wireless": "Participate in a WDS network", set the Network Name, Channel and Radio mode
"WDS": set as "WDS remote" and WDS Main correctly to the AirportID of Express1 as I want Express2 to connect with Express1
Now I click "Update" and after the reboot Express2 remains flashing amber and I cannot connect to it anymore.
I have read the help pages several times and nevertheless I dont know what went wrong.
I have done tests with choosing "Join a wireless network" but ended up the same.
Can anyone help? Has anyone set up a WLAN running like I want to do it?
    1000 Thx for any hints!

Can anyone give me a few pointer on how to rewire
    ableton with le7.2??
The problem i have is that rewire DOES show up in the
environment page, but i just dont know where to start
from there. I always get intimmidated by that
    environment thing in logic.
First, you don't need to do anything with the Environment if you don't need to send MIDI TO Live. If all you want is to get audio FROM Live, follow these instructions:
    1. Create a new track in the Arrange window. You should be given the option to create a ReWire track. If so, select it. Your new track appears in the arrange.
    2. In the parameters window on the left of screen, you'll see a value called "Channel". Click and hold, then select "Audio", then "Rewire", then "Ableton Live", then "Mix L/R"
    3. Now launch Live. Any audio you play should be piped into Logic via the channel you created.
If you need to control Live via MIDI from Logic, all you need to do is create a Rewire object in the Environment, call it "Live", and change the "Device" parameter (again in the parameters box on the left of the screen) to "Live" and change the "Bus" parameter to whatever device you want to control within Live (or Reason, or any other Rewire slave). This is detailed on page 238-239 of the Logic Pro manual, which is available here (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/LogicPro7_ReferenceManual.pdf).
Sorry that I'm not in front of Logic at the moment, and some of the names of things might be slightly different. But this should get you started.
