In-Application integration

Hello,
Was wondering about the capibility of integrating it with 3rd parties applciations, the PDF Geenretor. I've seen a website call www.snaptoshop.com which does PDF rending in HQ format. I'd love to see this happening for a local project.

SSO to Web App using Application Integrator - not working (SP15)

I have created a web app system and generic app integrator iview for my web application (and set up user mapping etc.), following the Application Integrator how-to guide but it does not log me into my web application. I have got the Yahoo example working, and if I use a HTTP System & URL iview for my web application, that also works. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be, or where I should start looking?
If I use a http sniffer, I can see the correct URL and parameters in the following:

Bit of a weird one: I've found a way to make it work but I'm not sure exactly how... the problem was that the portal was opening my web app URL in an iFrame (which can be seen from the code above). I tested this by just creating a html page with the URL + parameters in an iframe, and it wouldn't log me in (and took over the whole browser). So I guess the problem is with my web app rather than the portal.
However... I then discovered that if I add my web app address to the Local Intranet security zone in my browser (IE6) settings (before it was in the Trusted Sites zone), it no longer minded being in an iFrame, my test html page worked and so does the portal iview. I cannot find which security setting is causing this - I've tried changing the Trusted Sites to match the Intranet zone settings exactly, but it still doesn't work if my web app address is Trusted opposed to Intranet.
If anyone has any idea what is causing this behaviour, I'd be very grateful - obviously it isn't a portal issue but I'd still like to find out the cause in case it comes up again in the future.

Application Integrator and SSO by SAPLOGONTICKET

After the docs (e.g. "How to Use the Application Integrator") and blobs mainly focus on user mapping, I wonder how to configure SAPLOGONTICKET in com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic efficiently.
Does combining "URL template" and "URL template fraction for SSO" give a chance for sending a Login Ticket to another server (distinct domain)? Or is the "authentication" part in "URL template" useless for Login Tickets (as stated in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=21141">Thread 21141</a>)?

Hi Gerhard,
If your system is set to log on with SAP logon tickets for authentication, you can specify an authentication template in parameter SSO2Template, e.g. MYSAPSSO2=<Request.SSO2Ticket>. That's all it takes on portal side to configure the SAP Logon Ticket when using application integrator. .
If you want to use SAP Logon Ticket for multiple domains (portal server and backend server are in different domains) you have to take special care. Have a look into the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/a0/88a340fa432b54e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a> to find out how to configure logon tickets for multiple domains.

How to set up web application integration to use hotmail as my default email

I use hotmail and/or yahoo for my email providers, but when I click on an email link on a website, nothing opens like it did with IE. The website says I can set this up through a "web application integration" but I cannot find instructions on how to do this anywhere. I checked out all the "options" under tools and can't find it. I'm sure it's simple but I can't find it, LOL

This could be the problem . In your portal , copy the pcd path of a folder under which you would like to place this report and paste it in the bex analyser while publishing (pcd link) , see if this helps . A few more points .
1) You can also publish these queries as reports in portal using Bex Query designer - there will be an option to publish in portal . You will see it depending upon the version of designer. If you are able to see that option , selecting the pcd location would require you to have content admin role in portal .
2) Manually create iviews in portal (BI Reports) using the query string given to you by your BI folks . You can create either Bex 3.X or 7.0 depending upon the query string .

Application Integration Issue

We want to enable n users access to our r/3 system using portal. We created a link to access our r/3 logon page by using application integrator with UserID and Pswd Method. However, when a user is clicking on portal link he is shown the r/3 gui sign on screen but with error"Unable to resolve the SSO ticket'
Please note that we are not using SSO

Have you tried connecting your R/3 without using application integrator,by creating SAP R/3 transaction system?still it shows same error??
or else try this,
Logon to your R/3 to which you want to connect,run the transaction
rz10>choose profile=default>choose extended maintenance mode and click on display, see there the property named SSOloginaccept_ticket=2,as you are not using SSO,set this property to 2,and now try.

i have done integrating Lotus quickr to ep 7,using application integration,

Portal Favorites when using Application Integration

Hi,
We have implemented application integration for BW for rendering reports and display in portal. We have BI Java portal where the reports run and user portal where the rendered report gets diplayed. This has been achieved through Application Integration for BI Java.
When the user saves the report, its getting saved on BI Java Portal Favorites. So the user is not able to see it. To resolve this we have followed the below steps:
1. Created a remote iView in user portal which points to the Portal Favorites iView in BI Java portal -- using this we are able to see the user saved favorites in user portal
2. Renamed the BEx Web(ID:bex) iView in user portal and created a remote bex iView which points to the BEx Web iView in BI Java portal - When I preview it, it displays the prototype properly
Now when I click on the favorite links, those reports were not running. Only the bex prototype page is coming up.
When a report is saved its bookmarkId is saved on KM user account in BI Java portal. From there I took the bookmarkId and added to 'application parameters' property value for bex remote iView in user portal. This made the report to run on BI Java and render the report on user portal. But when I click on the favorites link in user portal, it is not running the report.
Does someone has any suggestion on this.

I was able to resolve this by creating a remote iView in user portal for the Portal Favorites iView from BI Java portal. And the remote iView created for the bex, we changed one iView property ‘Parameters Forwarded to Remote Application’ to ‘*’ which resolved the issue.

Thanks for answering. I must tell us that I'm so newbie in these themes and I have a little knowlegde of this.
I've browsing through the JNLPAppletLauncher option, but I have more questions about that.
First of all, I'll expose the application I'm working. The application is a SIP-client, specifically SIP-Communicator (http://sip-communicator.org/), and I want to embeebed in a web browser. I've been trying to make an applet from the application with helping by a tutorial, but it's impossible because I have other version than version which was used to build the applet. So that option, we could say that is closed.
The another option is to use Java Web Start, there is another tutorial for that and I can say that It should work more or less.
Thus, I need to give the java web start application an appearance of applet (but it can't be an applet), i. e., the java web start application has to run in the web browser.
As I far I know if I use JNLPAppletLauncher I have to build an applet that would be launched through a jnlp archive. havent't I?
What do you think about that, Do you see that java web start application integration in the web browser is possible?

Special characters in Application Integrator

We used the Application Integrator component to join Documentum to the Portal, everything is working OK, but if the user type a password with the special characters (&%$=+) the app. comes down, we think it is because we get the password with the function getParameter("password"), the password comes in the URL, encoding. We readed about the URL_ENCODE function, but we don't be able to use it, yet.

I would guess that the application integrator url encodes the password parameter, but that you do not do this at the documentum side.

Has anyone used AIA Foundation Packs as the core application integration framework for integrating custom developed applications?
My company has Oracle / PSft ERP applications, but I'm wondering if there is value in exploring the Oracle AIA Foundation Packs to help standardize / implement application and data integration solutions between our custom applications. Most of our application architecture portfolio are custom apps on legacy Oracle Forms platform and Oracle ADF; Oracle Java rich client (EJB / Swing) applications.

There are many AIA customers doing exactly the same. The value of standardizing the complete integration portfolio is very apparent and AIA Foundation pack provides you complete set of tools to achieve it.

Application Integrator - Access Denied

Hi,
I am trying to integrate my existing J2EE application into the EP using App Integrator..following instructions from this link.
Integrating your Web Front-ends into the SAP Enterprise Portal using the Application Integrator
After clicking on the Tab "Content Administration -Portal Content". No content tree is displayed and I get these errors:
1. Access is denied
2. Line 90 char 3 ...Error: 'undefined' is null or not an object
3. Line 165 char 4 ..Error: Object required
FYI - Logged in as Administrator and admin
I cannot do anything further.
Any help will be appreciated.

The problem is that your popup windows probably do not have their domain relaxed. (Usually popp windows are implemented in an iframe, which must also be relaxed in the same way as the main page.)
