After upgrading to Firefox 4, when I down load an attached file ( which is a Jpeg photo, and I'm using Yahoo mail ) Firefox 4 will not save the file as a Jpeg, it wants to save it as a HTML ..... I didn't have this problem with earlier versions of Firefox .... now I have to use another program to convert the image, which is a PIA and adds more time, this is a so called improvement?

Probably only the file extension is wrong and all you need to do is to rename the files and change the .html to .jpg to get valid JPG image files. If you save files in Firefox then you can add the file extension yourself. If you do not see the .html file extension in Windows Explorer then you need to add quotes around the name while renaming ("image.jpg"). You can check the file type via the right-click context menu > Properties.

Hi,
Relative newbie for Mac OS X.
Installed the latest update for the Operating System OS X 10.6 and first time I try to use Photo Booth after the upgrade I can not longer use Photo Booth!
Surely this would be one of the first tests for any operating system upgrade (check standard utilities still function)? Is there a planned fix for this? Where can I get a compliant version of Photo Booth please (I depend on this app for my business)?

This means for some reason the Photo Booth app is still the version for 10.6.
Some people have reported that the update for whatever reason is missing certain apps (assuming that the application was never moved from its default location.)
In either case, people have had success downloading the 10.6.1 combo update and applying it.

I've followed instructions to remove problem, still exists, how do I get Iphoto to open?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Apple Podcast app won't display past episodes of The Rachel Maddow Show. Does anybody know why you can only listen to the episode from the last day, and then it disappears?

I love the Rachel Maddow Show but rarely get to watch it on TV. So I rely on the podcasts to listen to every day. I've been using Stitcher but Apple's more recent Podcast app has much better functionality (downloading episodes to listen to on the subway & plane, for instance). However, for some reason (and it appears to only be TRMS podcasts), the Apple Podcast app ONLY displays the last episode. For some reason, each day, the last episode disappears from the app.

Same here! Older episodes don't necessarily disappear as soon as new ones come in; sometimes I have a few episodes on the iPhone, and can listen to them normally. But then I'll look later, and all but the latest will have disappeared. I'll have to start paying attention to discover what triggers the wipe; my guess is that syncing with iTunes does it, but I don't know yet.
Whatever the cause, it's odd. I thought that perhaps queued episodes would stick around if I partially listened to them (thus ensuring that they get actually downloaded, I'd think), but partially-viewed episodes and unviewed episodes both disappear. I can understand that an episode that never got downloaded might become unavailable after a day or few, but why would one already downloaded get automatically erased?
It's also worth noting that I don't have the problem in iTunes on the Mac. Episodes there stick around in the normal fashion. The problem is just on my iPhone, and just with this one podcast.
If anyone knows what's up, please tell!

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

I had tried the Chinese tablet Ereneben T7, and the features that gives you with the use of a thin pen is like write in a paper, it is really impresive. you can write in emails, office documents, pdf documents, photos, in any aplication that has.

There are a number of third-party apps that offer handwriting support. If you are asking why Apple has not implemented handwriting as a standard feature of iOS, no one here will know, though clearly avoiding the need for a stylus is a design decision Apple made a long time ago. You can suggest handwriting support as a standard feature to them here, if you wish:

Exporting from Flash to FLV, docs say you can, but not how.

The Help files state that you can export animations from Flash to FLV. I'm in CS5 Pro and cannot find ANY way to do that...
Alternatively, you can use Flash to create animations for use in movies. You can create an animation in Flash. You can export the animation as an FLV or F4V file. Then, you can import the FLV or F4V file into Adobe Premiere Pro for editing. In Adobe Premiere Pro, for example, you could add titles or mix the animation with other video sources.

IBook migration to Macbook not working, and have tried every solution I have seen on the internet, still my new MB will not recognize the ibook. Plz help if you can.

It's pretty much what I have seen others write about, only I have not gotten any of their solutions to work. Last thing I tried was a new firewire cable. The mb can't see my ibook wirelessly either. Now I have a new computer and no way to really use it. This is probably my 20th Mac and I have been using them since 1988, and this is just about the very first time I have been frustrated with a Mac, unable to fix it, and ready to send it back. So any help here would be appreciated.

I have a themeforest template which is great in html which I like to adjust, but I need a drag & drop website builder that automatically changes the codes and scripts as I can't program....
I tested some like Bluevoda & wysiwyg webbuilders, but there you can only load their files (.bvd ,...) extensions, not a full site or index.html

Muse is drag & drop but I'm not sure how well it would work with Themeforest templates. Muse could very well make a mess of it.

Is there a one click save all edits to copies of photos option?

    Assuming... I have this correct... is there a way to export and merge all your "edits" with your photos and save them as copies with one click rather than individually / one at a time?
Why? Ultimately so I can save my resulting good photos... thousands... as copies that I can use with other apps... or NO apps.
But why?   OK, I am new and uncomfortable with the file system in lightroom. The way I understand it is you create a catalog, basically thumbnails of your images on your drive. Then any edits you do become part of a metafile, which is a large database of all your edits for all your photos in one file. When you pull up an image from a "catalog" (assuming you have not moved it) LR pulls up the image and combines it with the edits you made from the "metafile" to show you your edited photo.
OK, but why?   Because I use other software and AFTER my year is up, I may not renew.
The file system seems geared to make you dependent on Adobe and frankly, if that is so, it bothers me greatly. (Wait till SharePoint catches up to us.)
1) do not want my modified images locked up or my edits inaccessible.
2) I would like to try and learn it Adobe's way, and not have multiple copies all over the place.
3) but I am going to have to give up my hierarchy and easy way to find and save pics to do it Adobe's way (which I still do not completely understand.)
4) There are some things I do very easily with Photoshop and Cannot use Adobe until I figure them out... if at all possible.
SO before I commit to a years purchase.   Can someone answer my rather direct question as stated in the first two lines.

I am old school, been using computers since before the 286's and the catalogs and this proprietary stuff is confusing because I have not found an explanation that helps me ask the right questions or explains it the way I need it. So, aside from the intro training videos... if anyone knows a information source that is useful, direct, to the point (that does not make you sit in your chair going ... My God, I have other things to do today, get to the point... Please share. I will consider every link. (I am used to being the Go To guy and this is frustrating.)

Is there a one-click way to save every edited photo? No, but you can do it with multiple clicks (Select All Photos, File->Export, set the desired options, click on Export), and even given all of your misgivings about Lightroom (which many people share and many people don't share), that seems to me like overkill. Worst case scenario: you stop paying your subscription and then you can still perform this export at that time.

I have OSX 10.5.8 and I keep installing FireFox, but it keep disappearing. When I try to download the newest version, my software isn't compatible because I DON"T have the intel "chip. What can I do to reinstall an older version of Firefox?

Firefox not only disappears from my dock but also from my Applications folder. I tried to downl0ad it again today (5/19/2011), however, it says my system isn't compatible because I don't have an Intel processor. Any suggestions. I have problems with Safari and like to use Firefox but can't if it keeps disappearing and then Mozilla tells me that I can't install after I have already downloaded the application.
