In Firefox 31.0 a bug makes the browser freeze, and then I can't close tabs anymore, what may solve this?
Good afternoon. With the newest update of Firefox for PC (31.0), I have a problem that occurs almost every time I use the browser.
When trying to close a tab, it sometimes cause the browser to freeze during one minute.
Then a dialog-box appears on the screen. It says that the script "chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:2004" may be busy.
I can choose between two buttons in this dialog-box.
"Continue" which keeps the script running, in theory; though it just closes the dialog-box, makes the browser freeze again, and then the same dialog-box shows up.
"Stop the script" which ends the freeze; but then I'm unable to close tabs (I can still close the browser).
I also noticed that, when the freeze occurs, the content of the tab I tried to close changes to "New Tab".
When I restart the browser, I am able to close tab again, until the freeze shows up again.
The problem started to appear only when I updated Firefox to the 31.0 version (and I didn't add any browser extension in the meanwhile).
Does anyone have an idea of what I could do to avoid the problem? Thank you very much and have a good day!
In the immediate future you can try noscript or flashblock addons to block that script.
However upon more research in searching the current Firefox codebase: [http://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/search?q=tabbrowser.xml&case=false] it seems to be referenced in there, but I do not see a reference to the port associated. The port is usually used for media. I would not know how to start to troubleshoot this, but are there any consistent steps/webpages that cause this to start?
Does this happen in Safe Mode, please see [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]? And does it happen in a fresh install?

Sometimes my browser gets inactive even thou the window is active and I can not click (pointer doesnt switch from arrow to hand) on any links or do anything in the browser. My best "workaround" is to click on the desktop and then go back to the browser window and then I can follow link or similar. But, next time I want to do something I have to repeat the procedure again, click on desktop then back to browser and so on. On some sites with scroll down menys it gets a little tricky since I only get one shot at the time.

When Flash "steals focus" from Firefox, you need to click outside the Flash presentation in the browser window, to regain focus in Firefox. A major problem arises when the Flash presentation is in the entire browser window, though. The Firefox developers are working on fixing that in Firefox, but it doesn't look like a fix is going to make it into Firefox 4.0, though. -

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

Sorry, I am new to the type of problem-solution process and I do not know how to edit my first statement. My true statement is below:
My pdf freezes when I click on COMMENT. I am trying to get at the tools to edit a pdf. If I use the tools from the toolbar, there is no issue, but once I click COMMENT, the document freezes and I have to open Task Manager to crash it. This started in the last seven days (3.31.15).I answered your questions below, BUT while I was searching for properties, I found the REPAIR ACROBAT INSTALLATION feature, did the repair and (Voila!) the issue was resolved!

I am using Acrobat XI Pro, version 11.0.10.32.
I did not create the file I was working in during the freezes, so I tried a PDF that I created with Adobe and it also freezes when I click on COMMENT. I did discover that the COMMENTS plug-in is loaded. (see image
I have used COMMENT for years without this issue occurring. It started in the last 2 weeks.
I could not find Properties under the file menu, but found a security setting in Preferences under the Edit menu. It did not have a way to allow/disallow COMMENT. -
Photoshop Elements crashed on my MAC and gave me the suggestion to go to Help, then Updates to correct the problem. When I do this the update starts and then tells me to close Elements to continue. I close Elements and continue then get this message - PLEASE CLOSE THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS TO CONTINUE - ElementsAutoAnalyzer AND ElementsOrganizerRevelAgent. I have no idea how to close these applications and therefore I am not able to get the updates.
Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor and you can kill them there.

I used to be able to open BBc Radio 2 via the 'Listen' link with a left click of the mouse button, this nolonger works, I now have to right click the link and 'open link in a new tab'
I must have disabled something?

the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well. -
When I do a search on google or bing, the browser loads the page but it freezes and I am unable to interact with anything. The spinning "loading circle" in the tab just keeps spinning. When I try to close out and launch an older version of firefox, I have to end the process in the process manager.

I could use some help. Apple support walked me through the uninstall and reinstall of all iTunes and Apple files in the proper order with my security software disabled. I still get the following message:
"The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later."

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

I'm not entirely sure what your post means, but if it was fully downloaded then it would no longer show as downloading on your computer's iTunes, or if downloading it on your iOS device it wouldn't be in the Downloads tab in its iTunes app. Was is still showign there ? And by 'it never started' you mean ?

I've been in possession of a 2011 MacBook Pro with OS X Lion since October. Ever since the second or third month I received my MacBook, it has had this problem of shutting down whenever I even touch the monitor, and then occassionally refuses to turn back on. I used to be able to ignore it, as it was rare: now it has become a real problem. Does anyone have any advice? How could this have happened? Is it something I might have downloaded, or is it the battery itself? I think it would be the battery, as the machine refuses to cooperate unless being operated on a flat surface. Thanks in advance.
Any word on this, I have a Macpro doing the same and have to reset the SMC everytime.

why can't i access my itunes anymore? whenever i click on it, it makes my laptop freeze/slow down to the point where not even ctrl alt delete works properly and i have to turn the laptop off and then back on to get anything done. it has been this way for the last 2/3 days now and i have uninstalled and reinstalled it but it doesnt work

Google search does not work. It does not bring back any results and disables my internet connection. I have to close the browser, wait, and then open it again. It only seems to happen when I am signed into my Google account. If I am signed out the search functions properly.

Firstly, I caution your approach to allow users to alter the orientation of the report. Crystal Reports doesn't adapt too well when the orientation is modified. You'll end up with fields dropped off on the right hand side of the report, or with a large gap on the right. Our engine doesn't do any auto adjusting of fields when you alter the orientation.
In order to see the changes it is best to re-load the page and get a new viewer. You can choose to store the ParameterFields in a Session variable for re-use on the post back so your users aren't re-prompted for values.
