In Mavericks, sometimes NSScreen screen return 0 count after we call [NSApplication sharedApplication]

Hi,
      In Mavericks OS for any native application,if we add the application as a login item.
      [[NSScreen Screens]] return 0 count soon after we call [NSApplication sharedApplication]
      In system log i am observing the error - "All available displays report that they are mirrors. This seems wrong. Please comment in <rdar://problem/14731307> if you see this log"
      I am not observering this problem for Mac OS below 10.9 versions
      Can any one suggest how to handle this case in the objective code.

My problem , it seems, is the summer ! My room has no air conditioning and this time the heat increases greatly . As new Imacs not get hot out , you can not realize how much the machine is suffering .
I bought a powerful fan and apparently the issue is resolved.

Anyone understand the logic behind when the screen shuts off during a phone call.
I'm using the keypad a fair bit and sometimes the screen will shut down during a call, hiding the keypad. I can shake it and it will come on again but then sometimes it goes away.
Sometimes it just stays up the entire call.
Sometimes it shuts off during the call.
If it shuts off during a call I can shake it to get the screen to come on.
Sometimes it just stays up for the rest of the call.
Sometimes its shuts off again.
If it shutss off during a call I can shake it to get the screen to come on.
Repeat...
Quite frustrating. How do I get it to stay up?

My iPhone does the same thing. When I make or receive a call the screen seems to do the opposite of what it should do. When I put the phone to my ear the screen activates, when I pull it away the screen locks. This causes me to press the touch screen when talking on the phone, buttons like mute and keypad.. highly frustrating. Also when I try to hang up, the screen locks preventing me to end the call.. have left numerous unintented voicemails due to this.
I have tried adjusting the auto-lock setting but this does not help and is up-to-date. Any ideas?

Issue returning a count of rows in a SELECT QUERY...

I am working in Oracle 11.2g and I have a query where I want to return the count of DAILY records as well as WEEKLY records for specific marketers.
Here is my query:

10005                  0                      2                      Note how it shows each count on a seperate row. Is there a way to tweak the query to show the counts on the same row:

Could be the graphics card, run the Apple Hardware Test
If the hardware test doesn't reveal any problems, use Lion Recovery.

VLC fullscreen sometimes makes screen stay black after video ends

like the subject says, sometimes the screen just stays black when a video ends while VLC is in fullscreen mode.
I'm using VLC 2.0.8.a-1. I got the laptop in April, just in time for Revision 2013, had the problem more or less from the start, so that's since version 2.0.5 or 2.0.6
So far I haven't found a way to get things back to normal when it happens. I've tried
press f
press ESC
close and reopen lid
switch to console (screen just stays black, even on consoles)
Apparently the only thing I can do is pop up a terminal window via shortcut and reboot.
As far as I can tell /var/log/Xorg.[0,1].log doesn't tell what's going on.
In case it's important, I've only experienced this on my Thinkpad T430, it never happend on my old ASUS laptop or on my desktop pc. An Intel issue maybe? The other two run on nvidia cards, the T430 does have an nvidia card in addition to the on-chip HD 4000 but I don't use it (I'd love to since the DP port is only usable with the nvidia card, haven't been able to make it work with bumblebee yet but that's a different issue).
Any ideas? Which log and config files do you need?

It sounds like your desktop is otherwise colored normally, but the colors in iTunes are inverted. I was thinking it is possible that a 3rd party plugin may be causing an issue with iTunes since the upgrade to Mavericks.

That is the automatic ambient light sensor doing it's thing.
Depending on what machine you have, try turning the screen brightness all the way up. It will buttons on the top row, usually the F-1 for dimmer, F-2 for brighter
Also you can go to sytem preferences>display and un check the automatically adjust brightness for ambient light.

BAPI.. with screen return?

BAPI is processed without returning any screen dialogs to the calling application.
But there are some released BAPIs provided by SAP like BAPI_CUSTOMER_EDIT, in which statement CALL TRANSACTION 'XD02', causes screen return to the user.
This prevents it to be used in background, to be called from some external system application.
What is that in these BAPIs that makes it different with any other normal function module which has user interface?

Keep in mind the history of BAPI's. Originally, Business Objects and BAPI's were created for Business Workflow, not for the outside world. Often there are existing BAPI's that send screens (for workflow), but BAPI's outside of workflow should only send back info, not screens. The original BAPI's did not have this restriction.
As for BAPI_CUSTOMER_EDIT it may be worth noting that this function module was one of the early BAPI's (R/3 release 3.0A). Also worth noting: In the BAPI browswer (transaction BAPI) there is a "Dialog" checkbox in the "Method (BAPI)" details screen. The checkbox is on for BAPI's that use "call transaction/screens" and off for the other BAPI's.

I am having the same problem with my ipad air but mine is so severe that it's just rebooting non stop. I guess the battery will die eventually but it has rendered the device useless. I guess I will be taking it back to apple. Very disappointed. Never had an apple product in 20yrs have such a severe problem.

Have you tried resetting the PMU? The PMU (Power Management Unit) has control over the sleep function, so resetting it may help if the iBook is sleeping unexpectedly.
