In Max, click Test Panel - Get Executable version (7.1.1) doesn't match resource file (7.1)

Hi,
I haven't used LabVIEW for a while.
I plugged in a USB-6251 and ran Measurment and Automation explorer and saw that the USB-6251 was in the NI-DAQmx Device and was green.
I clicked on the Test Panels button and got a window with the message:
Get Executable version (7.1.1) doesn't match resource file (7.1)
When I clicked OK  MAX was locked up.
I found this:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/680E61A4D02158A186256F7A0073C228?OpenDocument
which told me to repair the LabVIEW Runtime thingy.  I did that and it's still broken.
My MAX version is 4.2.0.3001
I assume that's a pretty old version but I would have thought it should have been updated when I upgraded to LabVIEW 8.2.1.  But I don't see a MAX folder in the 8.2.1 install.

I thought I had replied to this but somehow it didn't get there.  In answer to the question about running the device driver CD after installing LV 8.2 I don't know the answer.
Anyway I installed LV8.6.1 and now it goes into test panels OK so I should be able to progress.

  • Executable version does not match resource file

    Hi everybody
I have built and application and installer, using LabVIEW 7.1
The application runs correctly, but when I install it on the PC (the same that correctly runs the application). The following message is shown: "executable version(7.1.1) doesn't match resource file (7.1). Check your configuration". How can I change this configuration and solve the problem??
    Thanks in advance

I haven't found the way to "change configuration", but I have managed to get it work. I will explain it, because perhaps somebody needs it sometime...
The other day I installed LabVIEW RTE 7.1.1, and I have included when building the installer the LabVIEW RTE (in settings). This way, the application shows the error I mentioned previously.
Now, I have rebuilt the application and installer without including the LabVIEW RTE and everything works OK.

  • MAX visa test panel viread error 0xBFFF0015

I am running labview 8.5 and VISA 4.2. When I go to MAX and open the VISA test panel, the viread malfuctions. When I test it, it returns a timeout error (Hex= 0xBFFF0015). The viwrite tab also gives me the same timeout error sometimes. What can I do to correct this error?
Also, In the labview program, we are using an RS232 serial port to collect data. Using the visa configure serial port function, we have set the timeout to 10 seconds, and we have set the VISA read byte count to 1. In our code, we have three subVIs in a visa session. The first one works fine, the second and third malfunction, because the bytes at the port show a value of 0.  Is there any relation between this problem and the previous one? Thanks for any help!

I do not know if you are familiar with the instrument, it is a CSAT3 3D sonic anemometer. I have attached the three subVIs, since I am not sure exactly what the command is. I am very new to labview, so I am not too familiar with the commands.
The initialize VI is the first one executed, the second is the SA sync, and the read anemometer is the third one.

  • Currently use acrobat 6.  getting box that states: can't find adobe pdf resource files... need help

Getting a box that states: can't find
adobe pdf resource files... need help!!!

I get a similar error, but only under the following conditions:  I must be printing to the Adobe PDF printer and printing multiple pages, one at a time, and then it only happens on the second and subsequent print attempts.  That is to say, the first page prints just fine and this just started yesterday afternoon. The specific file referenced in the error does not exist, but why would it work the first time and not the second?  Since it only started yesterday, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling this morning, but it made no difference.  I don't see anything under print properties like job-options and it is a single user, unshared printer.  Thoughts?  I understand the same thing is happening in at least one other of our locations, but no one there has looked into it yet.  This is a BIG problem for me, however, and I need to find an answer quickly.

  • How do I get a version of firefox that doesn't install 'automatically'? I need to specify what drive it goes in.

What the question says - I do not want a version that installs itself in a full drive.

There is an option to do a Custom Installation to a location of your choice, but the vast majority of the hard drive space that Firefox will use can't be controlled. The "Profile" folders will install to the same drive the operating system is installed on - usually the C:/ drive ''(unless you are "dual-booting")'', in the ''Roaming / users'' file folderset. If you don't have like 50 to 75 MB of free space available, ''IMO'' don't install it.
One alternative is to use Firefox Portable, which keeps all of its' files in with the Firefox program files, and it allows you to select where it is installed. Plus it will run from a Flash drive, albeit at slightly reduced performance.

  • Version of kernel installed doesn't match what's running

This seems to me a very newbish question... I've just run `sudo pacman -Syu` to upgrade my system, and it seemingly went fine. When I reboot, the list of running kernel modules is much much smaller, the text on my screen is much bigger (suggesting a video driver switch?) and the kernel seemingly hasn't upgraded (`uname -a` still reports 3.16.1-1, instead of 3.16.3-1). Anybody know what gives? It's probably a simple solution, but I can't figure it out... thanks for reading.

There are a lot of threads around here where that is the root cause of a lot of problems.   The most common reason for that is that your boot partition was not mounted at /boot when you did the update.  That means that your new kernel is in the directory /boot, but the kernel that was loaded by your boot loader is on your boot partition.
    Look at /boot.
Mount the boot partition on /boot
    Look at /boot
Did the contents change?  If yes, do a pacman -Syu and ensure that your /etc/fstab is configured to mount that partition by defualt

Afterwards i have installed DAQ 8.0 version and tested the same but i am getting the same error can anybody suggest what i need to do to resolve this.

    Hi rajes,
This error as well as the fix is explained in the following link:

  • MAX 3 locks up when using test panels

I am using MXI-3 fiber link to connect to PXI-1000B chassis from my win XP PC. I have a PXI-6115 and PXI-6533 in slot 3 and 5 respectively.
Both devices shows up in max and window device manager.
But when I try to check the properties test resources on PXI-6115 then nothing happens. If I run test panel on max or in virtual channel, its locks up the MAX.
Runing the test resouces in MAX on PXI-6533, I get the message that "This device is not responding to selected base address.
I have also tried this setup with windows 2000. When I runs MAX the TEst Panels and Test Resources buttons are grayed out.
I have changing diffrent setting for IRQ's and DMA without ant results.

When you install a MXI-3 card in the PC and the PXI chassis, there is a MXI Initialization disk that you get which installs the MXI-3 Optimization program on your PC, which must run on bootup of the PC.
Also, your PXI chassis must be powered on FIRST before your PC is powered up.
Have you done both of these tasks first?

  • TFS get latest with Integration Services project causes changes to dtproj file

Does anyone know how to stop this behaviour? Get latest should not cause changes to be made to a file so far as I know.
Also, when viewing the differences TFS says the files are identical...
...And, undo pending changes just results in the same changes being made once they're undone.

    Hi Dev4,
Sorry for bringing you any inconvenience on waiting a long time for Microsoft assistance. Unfortunately your thread did not reach into our support queue until yesterday. I would like to check with you when you renewed or registered your subscription account.
We can see it only after you registered or renewed your subscription account.
For this issue, based on our analysis, it is mostly related to TFS. I have involved TFS engineers for a further look at this issue. Below is from their support:
As far as I know the Get Latest operation synchronizes your workspace with the latest version on the TFS server.
Please consider the following scenario, for example if one of your team members makes some changes to the Integration Services project and then submits these changes to the TFS server, however if you do not get that changed  Integration Services project
to your local machine, the dtproj file on your local machine is different from that on the TFS server. At this time, when you get do the Get Latest Version operation in the Source Explorer, the dtproj file on your local machine will be “overwritten”
by the server version. So it seems that your local dtproj file is changed.
If you want to undo the Get Latest Version operation, you can just use the Get Specific Version operation in the Source Explorer to get your appropriate version of the dtproj file.
    Hope this helps,
If you have questions about TFS in future, please post them in http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/tfsversioncontrol/threads/ to

  • Every time Firefox opens, I get new tab, with my desired page as a tab that I have to click on to get to. How do I go back to how it was in previous versions?

After updating to the newest version of Firefox, when it opens I get two tabs, and the one that comes up on my screen is new tab, with my homepage on the other, which requires that I click on it to go there. Also when I click on a link the same thing happens, a new tab page comes up, with what I clicked on as another tab that I have to click on to get to. This is actually quite annoying and inconvenient. How do I go back to the way that it was, so that when I start Firefox it opens on my home page, and when a new page opens, I see the content of the link that I clicked on? IMO This new and improved is really new and made worse.

An extra extension might have snuck in. These can be bundled with other software you might have installed recently.
Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable. (Or if completely unwanted, remove.)
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that get rid of the extra tab?
Note: I suggest also visiting the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and clicking the "Installed on" column header. This should bring the most recent additions to the top and group them by install date so you can investigate how unexpected software might have been installed.

  • NI-DAQmx task works in MAX or DAQ Assistant test panel but not in LabVIEW

I am attempting to read a single AI channel from a PCI-6024E card via an SCB-68. I have created a NI-DAQmx Analog Input Voltage Task in MAX for this channel, sampling in contiuous aquisition mode at 100 kHz, 10000 samples at a time, with RSE terminal config. If I use the Test feature from MAX, the channel acquires data as expected.
In LabVIEW, I call this task using an DAQmx Task Name Constant. If I right-click this constant and select "Edit Task", the Daq Assistant opens and I can use the Test feature from the DAQ Assistant to see that the data is still being acquired as expected.
However, when I try to programmatically read this channel in LabVIEW using the VI "DAQmx Read (Analog Wfm 1Chan NSamp).vi", the VI returns a constant DC value of 500 mV, which I know is incorrect (I can monitor the signal across the two terminals in the SCB-68 with a DMM to know that the signal coming in varies as expected, and as I read using the test panels). This erroneous reading occurs even if I make a new VI, drop the task name constant on the diagram, right-click the task name constant and select "Generate Code - Example" and let LabVIEW create its own acquisition loop (which is very similar to what I already set up, using the "DAQmx Read" VI).
Any ideas why the Test Panels work correctly but the LabVIEW code does not?

    Hello bentnail,
I'm not sure why the test panels are readin the value correcly but the LabVIEW code does not, but there are a couple of things we can try.
    1) What happens if you just use the DAQ Assistant and place it on the block diagram? Does it read out the correct values?
    2) Try running a shipping example that comes with LabVIEW. "Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi" should work well.
    3) What kind of signal are you expecting to read (peak to peak voltage, freqeuncy, etc.)?
    Thanks,

  • Why can i NOT use "differential" on the MAX test panel for channels 8-16??

    I have a USB-6218
This is a 32 channel device with 16 Differential inputs.
Why can't i use the MAX test panel to view any channel beyond AI-7 using the Differential setting? It shades out differential even though my device has this capability.
    WHY????

I am using MAX 4.1.0.3001 in conjunction with LV 8.0 and the USB-6218.
I go to MAX, Expand devices, expand MX devices, Right click on the USB-6218 (device2), and go to the test panels.
From there i am unable to view any differential pair beyond 8.
How am i supposed to Thru-Calibrate my equipment? Generally to achieve a valid calibration i use MAX itself to record the raw voltages the board "sees" as i apply known loads to the sensors.
The reason i need to check all this out is because DIFF pairs > 8 also are not working in my VI! Im am not sure if this is related or not.
