In need of some script asap!

Hi,
im making a website using a swf loader.
i have 5 buttons on my home page with the script;
on (release) {
loadMovie("swf/part.swf",_root.swfLOADER);
to link to my pages.
these pages work, however on two of the pages i have sub menus that i need to load in.
so i use the main button which loads the sub menu, however im strugling to get the submenu to work.
on the sub menu buttons i have;
on (release) {
loadMovie("swf/cat.swf", _root.swfLOADER.swfBOX);
to load it into a box on top of the original loader.
however it only works if i export it and go to the subsections first. If i go to any over section that loads straight into the swfLOADER and then try and load in the subsections it doesnt work!
I have has two actionscripters look at this today and still not found a solution.
any help would be very much appreciated.

if you load anything into _root.swfLOADER all children of _root.swfLOADER (like _root.swfLOADER.swfBox) will be removed.

I have encountered a HUGE problem in flash and I desperately
need urgent help from flash experts out there so please hear me
out. Here it goes >> I am currently working on ‘fill in
the blanks’ questions and answer for my chemistry project and
the thing is , I need to ENABLE other people who are going to do
the questions I created to type ‘subscripts’ for
example ‘3 2’. Now I have seen similar questions from
other flash documents is also requires entering of
‘subscripts’ and they used some script in the flash
document, WHICH is the user( person who is answering the questions)
can type in normal fonts as well as subscripts by HOLDING down ALT
key and typing the number, and the subscript would appear in the
selected INPUT BOX. i have attached an image below for better
understanding of my problem.

apart from that, i am also looking for a script that i can insert
into my 'check' button at the bottom of the page to check the
answers. To be specific, the script must be able to check the

the first script i mentioned which is the script that enables one
to type in normal fonts AND subscripts by holding ALT key or
something similar to that, i also fail to come up with a proper
script for my 'check' button to check my answers. I hope readers of
this passage are able to understand what i am trying to say here as
well as help me solve my dilemma that i am facing. IN a nutshell, i
am need 2 types of scripts now .....which are
1) script that enables one to type in subscript by holding
down the 'alt' key and typing the letter at the same time 2)and the
second script which when embedded to my 'check' button, when
CLICKED will be able to check the answers which includes
SUBSCRIPTS.
if you need any further information to have a better
understanding, do tell and i will provide more pictures or even
flash documents.

No I am just using SET DATE MASK command to make it appear as required but that is changing my value at the other window also so I dont want this date format anywhere else other than footer.

Need a shell script file in snow leopard to start and stop VPN connection

As the Question says, I need a shell script file to do this, and since I don't know anything about creating a script file I wanted to ask the Groups help. I need it because I need to run a backup program, and need the backup program to run the Connect script to connect to the VPN before it starts the backup, and then when it completes the backup to run the disconnect script. Hi, thanks for your prompt reply. However my real problem is not starting
it but stopping it cleanly. I am forced to restart the display from time to time (once/per hour) because it is getting 'stuck' for some reason and the web page is out of my control.
I tried simply killing the firefox process using kill command and then starting a new one but it works one or two times and then the next firefox process demands mouse communication. And that is not available. Also this has to work without any expert present as the display is in a public area.

In need of a script

Hi I'm in need of a script in illustator, i've searched but with no luck as its going to have quite a few steps.
Basically what I need is a script that will allow me to select a text box and do the following:
1. Outline the font
2. offset the paths by .05 with "joins:" set to "Round" and "miter limit" is "3"
3. unite the paths within the now outlined text
The font is N H Interlock (its a cursive font used to monogramming)
Not really sure where else to look. I'm very familiar with illustrator but not at all with scripting.

Windows. I tried silent install with "install_flash_player.exe /install" but it works only with one file that I downloaded from adobe.com - "install_flashplayer10_mssd_aih.exe". But it is possible to download this last file only one time, every next time it redirects me to download install_flash_player.exe file.

I need an automator script to play a folder of movies

I have a folder of quicktime movies. I have a Mac Mini with Lion. I have a TV. I need an automator script to grab the list of movie files from the folder and play them full-screen, one-by-one and then loop through the process to continue playing them, unattended, all day.
I cannot get the proper steps in automator to accomplish this (seems to me it should be easy) job.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that Quick Look would display a folder of files one-by-one. Once I set the first file to full screen, the rest also played full screen one after the other. Now I need a way to automatically launch Quick Look, set full screen and loop. This site http://automator.us/leopard/downloads/index.html has an automator action that uses Quick View, but on my Lion machine it just displays the first movie and only the first frame of the movie. It stops at that point.

Need Help with scripting for Automator/AppleScript.

Hi everybody,
I am building a small app for my mac, What I need is a script that can rename a file that I drop on it.
and example being:
example.jpg
(when I drop it on the app, I want the app to change the filename of the document to "Image.jpg"
I have tried this with Automator, but it requires that I specify the file to be changed, what I need is something that will change the name of any file I drag onto it.
I am using it for application specific files.

HT1212 my phone froze so i locked it. tried opening it, the screen wont even light up. what's up? i need to use it asap.

i just recently replaced the simcard to my personal simcard earlier. after e few hours of usage (messaging, facebook, twitter, instagram and viber) it slwoed down until it hung up. i locked the screen to see if that helps since it usually did with my ipod touch 4th gen. i tried pressing the sleep button again to find out it no longer lights up. it was still 50% charged so it can't be the battery. i connected it to the charger and it only makes the usual beeping sound when you plug the device to its charger. what should i do? i need it for work asap. and i have no back up phone or simcard.

I meant holding the "option" (or "alt") key on your keyboard as you click the Outlook icon on the Dock, and continuing to hold it until you see the Microsoft Database Utility come up. Alternatively, you can open the utility by navigating to Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Office and then double-clicking the Microsoft Database Utility app.
When you rebuild your database using that program, a backup copy of your original database (containing your account info, contacts, mail, calendars, etc) will be created. As a security precaution, you should also ensure you have a backup of your database (which you can find by going to Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/ and copying the contents of that folder onto an external drive).

I have a script that "kind of" works. The only problem I've seen is that it gets confused when filenames contain characters that are fine in Macland but not good in Unixland. Forward slashes are a good example of this.
In this case I have a folder in my home named "copytest" Inside copytest are two folders:
Source (containing the images to be added)
Dest (My existing library of images)
It also assumes that the folder of images to be added contains no sub-folders. Hope this helps.
