In PSE 10, my contact book which used to have many entires is now blank. Can I recover the contents, and how?

Photoshop.com is dead and gone. If you had any photos stored there, they should have gotten moved to adobe revel and you should have received several emails about that. Unfortunately, there was a lot of other stuff stored at photoshop.com, like the contact books for everyone who had an account there, and all the downloadable stuff in the graphics palette, and all that is gone, too.
For the tutorials, you can go to tv.adobe.com or adobe's youtube channel.

  • PSE 9 Contacts Book problem

    Now that Photoshop.com is defunct, I can't edit my contacts book in PSE 9. I can't even start a new one because when I try to access my contacts, it requires me to "sign in" and we know that doesn't work because it wants to sign me in to photoshop.com. Anyone know how I can get to my contacts list or start a new one? Also, what will happen when I upgrade to version 12 or later...will I still have this problem? Thanks.

    You will just have to give up on the contacts book in PSE 9 and use some other way of keeping track of addresses.
    In PSE 12 it's okay--for now.

  • Contact Book in PSE 7

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to add more email address's to the Contact Book in PSE 7. I follow the instructions and after entering the details click "ok" , the problem is that the address does not go into the Contact Book, it disapears somewhere into PSE 7 never to be seen again. I have gone over the help and tried to do this about 10 times now. I have updated PSE 7. Using Windows Vista, even tried in XP and still same issue.
    I am using outlook 2003, when I import addresses into PSE 7 I make a new contact and the same it does not add email addresses to the contact book. This is driving me nuts as I have a few to add and when I send emails I have to manually type them in.
    Is anyone slse having a simular issue?

    Many people have reported problems with the contact book in PSE 6 and 7.  The only solution appears to be to delete the contact book file, contacts.xml, as described in this tech note:

    Rather than delete the file, you might move it to your desktop, in case this doesn't solve your problem.  Also, PSE looks in more locations than described in the tech note for contacts.xml -- best to use Windows Explorer to search your entire hard drive for copies and move each copy to your desktop (with a different name).

  • Contact  Book  PSE7 malfunctioning

    Hello, it seems i would need some help.
    I cannot make any changes to my Contact Book anymore. All the changes I make (adding or deleting) are no saved.
    It may be due to the fact that i tried to import a large amout of contacts from outlook and it crushed since? 
    How can I reset the contact book?
    Is there a file to delete ?
    Please anyone if you know how to get around the problem.

    The address book is stored in the file "contacts.xml".  See this tech note for likely locations:

    Make sure you follow the directions and configure Windows Explorer to show hidden files.
    I believe that sometimes PSE stores "contacts.xml" in other locations (perhaps if you've upgraded from earlier versions), so if you can't find "contacts.xml" or deleting the one you find doesn't help, see your entire C drive for other instances.

  • PS6 contact book

    I utililze photoshop share program withing ps6 to email pictures etc.  The contact book worked at first but something happened along the way. It now  says, NOT RESPONDING.    I have worked around it but would like to add or delete email address etc.  I have researched this forum, called adobe who said they no longer support ps6, read books, opened several programs looking for the magic box to check or uncheck.  Can't seem to get it done.  Anyone have a suggestion as to what might be the corrective action??

    Its been about 2.5 years and your question is correct, ps elements.  Sorry about that.  I'm running the dreaded vista which has been a challenge to get to interface with any program.  Many email programs(hotmail etc.) will not interface so I took the route to using photoshare program within PSE.  I also believe you are correct about outlook. Within the program you can access a contact book via photoshare to attach addresses or use the drop down window loacated in the toolbar area. I keep thinking it has to do with a default setting... Guess on my part.
       Vista and not interfacing with hotmail, HTML etc. has been a very frustrating experience. Appreciate your interest. .

  • How do you select multiple emails from the contacts book.

    Using 10.8.4. I would like to use mail and select multiple email address' from the contacts book to send the same message to multiple persons. I thought I used to be able to select more than one at a time from my contacts book. Am I crazy or did they change the way it works from the previous version of software.
    Or, could you go to the contacts book and email from there. Either way it seems like it was easy to do and now I have to select one at a time and keep going back to the contacts/address book for another name.

    Once you open a new message, you should be able to just start typing the first letters of the contact's name, and Mail should give you a dropdown to select from:
    So, you should not have to go back and forth between your contacts and mail....anyone in your address book should show up on the dropdown as well as anyone you have received emails from or sent emails to even if they are not in your contacts....
    Is that not what is happening for you? Are you using the Mail app on the Mac?

    I cannot get the contact book to save any contacts.  I have to enter each one each time.
      Which given that I have to enter it in the contact book and cannot enter just the e-mail address, is really really irritating.  The next time I open the contact book after sending the e-mail, there are no contacts.

    By chance, I too have the readability bookmarklet installed (but I don't use it that much, to be honest), and it works ok for me. It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem.   • Can't change email address in 4.0 Contact book

    I need to change my email address in the Sharing palette of the Contact book (as accessed from the Photo Browser).  When I highlight my address in the recipient list and then go to Edit, I get a message saying "This contact is used by a print recipient in the Order Prints palette. To edit this contact, select it in the Order Prints palette and edit it using the Order Prints palette's Edit button." So, I go to the Order Prints palette (as accessed from the Photo Browser) and go to the recipients list.  My information including the email address is in the "default" section - first in list. This information is the correct email address so I don't need to change that one.  (Note: I can't remember how I got it in the default section in the first place).  I tried to just delete the email address so that I could then edit it in the Sharing palette recipient list, but when I delete each line of my information and leave that page, it has not been deleted. I assume it has something to do with the fact that it is a default address.  How do I get rid of my contact information as the default or is there another way to change my email address in the Sharing recipient list without having to do something in the Order Prints recipient list. I called the Help desk, but they don't support Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 anymore.  Thank you.

    Basically, I have fixed the problem by just
    putting in my new email address and leaving the
    old one in there because I can't seem to delete
    it.  I go to Edit - Contact Book, and highlight
    my old email address in the list and click on
    Delete.  I get a message box saying:
    "One or more selected contacts have matching
    Order Prints recipients. Before you can delete
    this contact, you must first delete the recipient
    from the Order Prints palette."  So I go to the
    Order Prints palette, and my old email address
    isn't even in there. I had changed it over a year
    ago to my new one.  Very strange.  The bottom
    line is; that I can't delete my old email address
    from the recipient list, but since I added my new
    one, I can live with it that way. Since this
    Photoshop program is set up with Kodak Gallery,
    it might be the Kodak Gallery part of the process
    that is not letting me do this.  (I just want my
    address in there to email a photo to myself once
    in awhile to see how it comes up.) I have no
    problem deleting and editing other peoples'
    addresses. I have Adobe Photoshop 4.0, which I
    know is quite old and now has no online support,
    but it still does what I want.  Thanks for your response.

  • How to sync up apple contact book and exchange contacts

    I have a bunch of contacts in my Apple Contact book but am using Outlook for Mac 2011 for email, contact management, and calendar.  I have read that you have to sync your Apple contact book to your exchange account rather than directly to the Outlook for Mac 2011 programs so you don't create duplicates (contacts coming from the Apple address book AND the Exchange server).  However, I can't find anything that tells me how to sync the Apple Contacts with my Exchange account.  I figure at that point once synced, my exchange account will push the new contacts from the Apple Contact book back into Outlook for Mac 2011 making everything whole. 
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the quick response.  I do have the exchange service added and am only bringing the contacts down from the exchange side into the Contacts portion (not syncing mail, calendar, etc). It has seemed to create two different "sections' in the Apple Contacts Address book (Please see screenshot).  I was hoping to somehow merge/sync these two so I am always working out of one directory.  When I create a contact in my Outlook for Mac 2011 it dumps it in the "Exchange" section and up to my Exchange server.  However, when I create one on my iphone and sync the phone with this system via usb cable, it puts all new contacts created in the "On My Mac" section thus not moving it to my Exchange or Outlook for Mac 2011 causing new contacts to only sync with different sections based on where they were created.
    (As a side note, I have to sync via the firewire cable due to having over 10,000 contacts.  There was an issue with the previous release of IOS that caused massive problems with syncing over the air with that many contacts.  I've never fully recovered and have not had the hard to do over the air syncing again, hence the tethered sync).
    If there is anything I can do to get this rolled into one Address book that syncs from phone all the way through to Exchange server, I would appreciate any additional direction.  I've also included a second screen shot to show the difference between the Exchange contacts total (10,660) and the All on my Mac contacts total (10,774).  Ideally they would both say 10,774.

    Ok,
    Indeed I referred to the Fax Speed Dial list while you referred to the Scan to Email Contacts List.
    That can be chnaged form the printer homepage (EWS) as following:
    Open the HP Software by clicking the HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon and thne click on Printer Home Page (EWS)
    Click the Scan tab.
    Click on Email Address Book and confirm and approve any security alert.
    From there you may manage the Address Book.
    Note: You may also access it by clicking the network icon on the top of the printer front panel and locating the IP Address.
    Browse to this IP from your Web Browser to access the page.

  • Elements Organizer does not save contacts entered in Contact Book

    When I try to save contacts in either Elements Organizer 10 or 11 in the Contact Book, it saves nothing.  After I click the save button and reopen the contact book, anything I entered is gone.
    I've tried entering names as I'm preparing to send e-mail, I've tried doing it through Edit>Contact Book..., and even by adding a New Group to the Contact Book before entering new name, none of which work.  Can someone help?

    It’s working for me on Windows if I click:
     Edit >> Contact Book
    Then click the new contact button, enter details and click OK and OK again.
    What OS do you have? What is the default email client?
