In R12 Invoice Register Concurrent Request running long time

Hi
In R12, Invoice Register Concurrent Program Running more than 30 mins , before its use to finish with in 10 mins, any suggestions.
Thanks

I don't wanna hear sorry from gurus,Thanks. By the way, I do not consider myself a guru, just a simple guy who is still learning new things everyday and at the same time like to share what he knows :)
Sawwan, I checekd locks there iare no locksWell, in this case I would suggest you wait for the request to complete. Once it is done, bounce the application as well as the database and run the request again (if possible) after enabling trace and see if takes that long to complete.
If the request keeps running (i.e. does not seem to complete), then cancel the request, kill all associated process from the backend, and follow the action plan above (bounce, and enable trace).

  • Select query running long time

    Hi,
    DB version : 10g
    platform : sunos
My select sql query running long time (more than 20hrs) .Still running .
Is there any way to find sql query completion time approximately. (Pending time)
Also is there any possibilities to increase the speed of sql query (already running) like adding hints.
Please help me on this .
    Thanks

Hi Sathish thanks for your reply,
    I have already checked in V$SESSION_LONGOPS .But it's showing TIME_REMAINING -->0
    select TOTALWORK,SOFAR,START_TIME,TIME_REMAINING from V$SESSION_LONGOPS where SID='10'
    TOTALWORK      SOFAR START_TIME      TIME_REMAINING

  • Is index range scan the reason for query running long time

I would like to know whether index range scan is the reason for the query running long time. Below is the explain plan. If so, how to optimise it? Please help
    Operation     Object     COST     CARDINALITY     BYTES
    SELECT STATEMENT ()          413     1000     265000
    COUNT (STOPKEY)
    FILTER ()
TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID)     ORDERS     413     58720     15560800
    INDEX (RANGE SCAN)     IDX_SERV_PROV_ID     13     411709
TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID)     ADDRESSES     2     1     14
    INDEX (UNIQUE SCAN)     SYS_C004605     1     1
TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID)     ADDRESSES     2     1     14
    INDEX (UNIQUE SCAN)     SYS_C004605     1     1
TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID)     ADDRESSES     2     1     14
    INDEX (UNIQUE SCAN)     SYS_C004605     1     1

The index range scan means that the optimiser has determined that it is better to read the index rather than perform a full table scan. So in answer to your question - quite possibly but the alternative might take even longer!
The best thing to do is to review your query and check that you need every table included in the query and that you are accessing the tables via the best route. For example if you can access a table via primary key index that would be better than using a non-unique index. But the best way of reducing the time the query takes to run is to give it less tables (and indexes) to read.

  • In r12 Custom Concurrent Requet taking long time

    All
One of User running Custom Concurrent Request
User saying slow running process which probably is going to run for more than 6 hours.he don't want to terminate request
when user had done bulk loads in PROD on weekend the performance was much better. . Do we know what they are? Are they contributing to slow performance on the production box?
    when i checked in OAM
    Phase Running
    Status Normal
    Request ID XXXXXXX
Diagnostics This request is currently processing normally. Processing began on 02-APR-2008 13:12:03. No action required. You may examine the request log to determine its processing status.
    Run times
    Average 1253
    Minimum 0
    Maximum 14019
    Estimated Completion 02-Apr-2008 13:32:56
what could be the reasons to perform slow process

    So, reviewing:
    1) Bulk data load took place over the weekend.
    2) Custom code performs poorly after bulk load.
    3) All database tables analyzed recently.
Looks like you have an adventure on your hands. :-)
No magic quick-fix here...you'll need to either review your custom code for any obvious performance bottlenecks, or trace the database session to determine where it is slowing down. Unless you're personally very familiar with the custom code, running a trace is probably a faster way to pinpoint the problem.
Good luck! In this case, at least, you're fortunate that it is custom code...if the problem is in the code itself, you have the freedom to change it, unlike the Oracle-delivered code. :-)

  • R12 Restrict Parallel Concurrent Requests Per User to a Limit.

    Hi everyone,
Is it possible to restrict parallel concurrent requests per user to a limit.
e.g. UserA sending concurrent requests to submit 15 heavy reports one after another. After 2 minutes he feels free. Now 15 reports running in parallel are heavy enough to take system's performance down. Is there a way to restricting parallal reports by a single user to 5.

  • Releasing transport request taking long time

    Hi All,
I am releasing transport request in SE09, for releasing child request it was taking long time and for parent request taking much more long time.
In SM50, i didn't find any processes running.
Can anyone tell me the solution.
    Thanks & Regards
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
    >> I am releasing transport request in SE09, for releasing child request it was taking long time and for parent request taking much more long time.
You didn't note what release your are running on, but you can check the note 1541334 - Database connect takes two minutes
    >> In SM50, i didn't find any processes running.
It is normal, because the system exports the transport request by "tp" command at the OS level, after TMS complete its job on a DIALOG wp.

  • Concurrent request taking more time than usual

    HI,
I am running a concurrent request : Payables transfer to general Ledger
which was usually getting completed within 5 minutes....but now it is taking hours to complete....Log file not showing any errors as such...
I increased the standard mangers processes and bounce the Concurrent managers n Database as well...i also ran cmclean.sql, but no luck..
Can anybody suggest me the approach for this problem...
    thanks n regards,
    Sajad

Check the enable trace option in the concurrent program definitions.
After that run the concurrent request and get the trace file in udump directory and tkprof it, and analyze which is the query that is causing the issue.

  • Concurrent report takes long time to complete

    Dear all,
Concurrent report "Inactive items report" takes long time to complete.
How to solve this performance issue ?
Kindly offer me solution to this.
    Regards,
    Arun

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Was the performance acceptable before? If yes, any changes been done recently?
Do you have the statistics collected up to date?
Please enable trace and generate the TKPROF to determine why the request takes that long to complete.

  • Background Job  running long time.

    Hello All,
One of customer background job running for long time more than 11 hours, but usually this jobs get completed within 4 hrs.
I have checked in WP trace file, it shows "WP has reached abap/heaplimit=40000000".
This is the Value I can see in RZ11. Now it is not possible to change the value.
Frequently facing this problem, please guide me to solve this issue.
    Regards
    Vinay.

    Hi
First of all, abap/heaplimit is the limit of memory usage by a WP.
Follwing is the documentation from help.sap.com
The value of the parameter should be between 10000000 (10 MB) and 2000000000 (2GB), the recommended default setting is 40000000 (40 MB).
The objective is to have the least number of work process restarts as possible, without a swap space bottleneck occurring.  The heap memory allocated by the work processes has to be released again.
As shown in the graphic, the value of abap/heaplimit should be smaller than abap/heap_area_dia or abap/heap_area_nondia, so that the dialog step that is running can still be executed. This prevents the work process from working against the operating systemu2019s swap space limit if there is a programmed termination of the work process.
So,Do the above checks. And importantly check the memory utilizations at the time of running your job and check whether any other job was also running at the sametime.
Increasing the parametes is not a good idea.. If you continuously face this issue then only think of parametes. As u said ,this problem is not happenng too often.
    Hope this is useful

  • Query running long time

    hi
I'm having a query running for long time, Im new to dba can any one suggest me methods to make it faster it's running now and i have to make it execute it faster
parallel servers=4, and there are no inactive sessions.
    thanks in advance

Make a habit of putting the database version in the post
As i told u before i depends on lot of things not only merge(cartisian ) joins,
1)It depends on the load the database is having,Was this query running fastly before?if it was running fastly then was the workload same as today?
2)Any changes done to database recently or the server?
3)only this query is slow all the queris are slow?
    4)When was database last restarted?
5)Are u using bind variable in the query?
6)Is you library cache properly sized? If the query is doing lots of sorts then is your PGA properly sized?
7)Database buffer cache is properly sized?
8)How much memory your database is having?
9)Is your SGA properly fits in your memory or its getting swaped?
    Etc...Etc
    Check all these things

  • FIM Reporting initial sync running long time

We have installed FIM Reporting last month , afterwards our FIM reporting initial sync powershell script is running from last month to Sync FIM data with SCSM server , but still only half data is synced with SCSM server ,
    we have 4 server
    1. Server1 --FIM server
    2. Server2 -- FIM database
    2. Server3 -- SCSM service manager  and SQL server Databases for Service manager and Data warehouse
    4. Server4 -- Data warehouse server
As FIM initial sync script is taking long time to sync so we found some errors in Server 4 (Data warehouse server) multiple times during ETL jobs running.
    Error screen shot
Please give some suggestions to make FIM initial sync faster

Please try Resume-FIMReportingInitialSync instead of starting initial sync once again.
Sadly Initial Sync is very long and even on test environments it can take a long time.
But it seems that data from FIM was successfully moved to reporting database, but it hasn't been calculated by Service Manager correctly between its databases.
