In SQL Editor Window '--' at end of line comments out the next line

Hello,
when I run a query with '--' at the end of a line, the next line seems to be commented out:
select * from v$parameter
where 1 = 1
-- and value = '0' ------------
and value LIKE 'AMERICA%'
this will result in showing all v$parameter records!
When I change the last character, it works properly.
select * from v$parameter
where 1 = 1
-- and value = '0' ------------ X
and value LIKE 'AMERICA%'

1) To write math expressions in a text :
     — Microsoft Office 2011 etc. for Mac use its included Equation Editor.
     — OpenOffice.org (OOo) and NeoOffice : download free Dmath 3.3.
     — iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), download free MathType 6.7, fully functional for 30 days, then becomes « Lite » for life as good as the Microsoft equation editor ; it’s better than using Grapher’s equation editor (Applications > Utilities) because MathType can be called from Pages and allows editing equations by clicking the math expressions your text (details on MathType website) .
     — Graph.app 2.3 in Mountain Lion is built to draw curves and surfaces from equations, so it uses an equation editor less powerful than mathType, but it’s easier typing expressions. You may get 2D 3D geometrical drawings from clever equations. Suggest a glance at   http://y.barois.free.fr/grapher/ to know all about Grapher (83 pages Instructions for Use - Grapher) and some examples
2) Geometrical schema :
     — GeoGebra is very popular and used by math teachers.
     — Google SketchUp 8 was not built for mathematics but for architecture, but it’s very easy using it to draw 2D 3D surfaces and solid figures.

I am using RandomAccessFile and file as my class. I am trying to read a log file as it gets updated and print it out to a java window. i so far have the framework setup but dont know how to save the last line number so.
i need this variable so i dont reprint out the same line numbers to the java window. please advise.

This should not happen.
Having said that it will happen to some extent of you Paste in a larger amount of text.
Does holding down the ALT key and hitting Enter/return a couple of times expand the window ?
This normally adds Line Breaks to the Text Field
If this does not work it will point to a windowing issue which is related to data held in com.apple.ichat.plist
Go to the Finder and it's Go Menu.
In here hold the ALT key so you can see the Home Library item and select that
Open Preferences.
Find the com.apple.iChat.plist and the associated .lockfile and drag both to the Trash.
Restart iChat.

Moving to the next line in JTextArea

Hi,
I use a JTextArea just to display messages, that I receive from a server over the network.
However the method append only puts the text at the end of the text. I want ever message to have its own line.
So how do I skip to the next line after i appended the text?
I thought of simulating pressing the enter-key, but I didn't really figure out how to do that.
Anybody got an idea???

Pasting in JTextPane adds the text in the next line not the cursor positon

I have a problem with pasting the text in a JTextPane. The content type is text/html and the document is HTMLDocument. When I paste the text, it goes to the next line instead of inserting at the current cursor position. The problem is when pasting, the html writer adds a paragraph tag with the selected text. Can any one please help me with this issue for pasting a selected text in the position where I want, without loosing the character attributes and other html tags, but only the paragaraph tags?

Hi Tariq,
If you are specifying some .prt files(printer definition files) in the desformat, please examine them if you have set the width and height to proper values.
Otherwise look at $ORACLE_HOME/reports/printers/dflt.prt (default file) and see if the width and height are set to proper values.

Text tool: Text doesn't goto the next line

Hi,
I ran into a problem where my text doesn't go to the next line when I press ENTER. If I keep on typing, the text would overwrite itself.
This is only happening in After Effects (it is fine in other apps...Email, Photoshop, etc.). I know it is probably something I clicked but for the longest time, I couldn't figure it out.
Any help appreciated.

As Mylenium suggested, you may have a problem with line spacing. For example, you may have leading set to 0. One way to clear problematic settings is to reset the settings in the Character panel.

SQ01 query, one field not populating in first line, pushing data to next line

Good day all
I have worked with queries for some time and have never encountered this error
I have a few table joins (FAGLFLEXA, BKPF, BSEG, EKKN, SKAT and EKPO), every thing works and displays correctly, except for the one field
EKKN (ABLAD) - Unload Point.
For some reason, when I test the query, it displays correctly with one entry, but as soon as you run the test for more entries, for some reason, the first Unloading point on the report is empty and the value reflects on the next line. If you display the physical documents where the data pulls from, you can clearly see that the entire report pushes down the field to the next line.
For example

I found the error! The query was written in a certain format. For example it had many fields which was used to populate the data from different tables. The error occured because of the sequence. The query had to bring in a field but it had to derive it from a purchase order, but the purchase order check was after the said field therefor, when it looked at the Purchase Order, it found the field and populated it, but only on the second line. In the first line it couldnt find the Purchase order yet (as EKKO was lower down), so it didnt populate it yet....

soon as you start up the computer, keep hitting the F1 key. That should get you into the BIOS.
Also, try disabling Active System Protection for your freezing issues. I'm using XP so I don't know where to tell you to find it in Vista.
