I need to find an email I received 12/29/2010. How do I find my email archive? I am assuming one is automatically set up in Apple OS... or do I need to set that up myself? If so, what is best way to set it up and transfer read/written mail to it? Help!!! Thank you!!!

    The system of setting up email alerts for Calendar events worked fine in Snow Leopard but since I upgraded to Mt. Lion Calendar won't let me set email alerts. When I try, I get an error message saying I need to set up a card in Contacts for my email. I have a card set up in Contacts for both of my email addresses but it doesn't recognize them. Perhaps the name I have on the card doesn't match a name that Calendar is looking for. Calendar doesn't seem to have a way in Preferences or elsewhere to indicate the email I want alerts sent to.     It can be done with analog but not digital thanks to "good 'ol" HDCP copy protection which apple (and most other manufacturers) unfortunately respect.
    So you can take the analog output from your cable box (component -- 5 cables -- if it has it but generally they all have composite -- 3 cables) and feed it into some kind of converter or into some appropriate pci card for your mac pro.  But none of them are going to let you directly use the HDMI output from the box to your computer.
    Bottom line, no single cord is going to work and it will never be the higher quality digital picture you get on your tv.
    Some qualification:  There are boxes that I think support hdmi input.  Look at Blackmagic.  But I still don't think you can get around the HDCP from the cable box (might depend on the kind of cable box).

    I've been having deleting problems, too, and finally found a couple of fixes here on the message boards. I'll copy and paste them for you. It doesnt fix why it happens, but at least you can delete your emails.

    Hey try this.
    Swipe to delete. When you are in either portrait or landscape view swipe from left to right over the message in the inbox listing. That should show a delete option without loading the email. Worked for me.

    You can also do this go into your settings>mail, contacts, calendars then turn off the "load remote images" then try to delete the message.

  • Need to set-up an older macbook with a different email for my husband to use

    I have 2 mac notebooks, 1 older macbook + 1 new macbook air both were set-up with me as the admistrator. I want to set up the older mac book for my husband to use. Right now both computers are set to my email and have me as an administrator - they both maintain all of my settings for example, the Safari bookmarks are the same on both computers. We did download OX Lion on the macbook and my husband does have an Apple ID . What else do I need to do to separate the computers so we each have our own? We share an iTunes account so that is not an issue.

    These are the directions of OS 10.7. Some of the details are different on other OS.
    1. On your husband's computer, go to System Preferences / Users & Groups and click the padlock to unlock.
    (U & G was called Accounts in older OS - not sure what you have on that older Macbook.)
    2. Click the + sign. That will give you a new pane.
    3. In New Account, select Administrator ( the default is "Standard").
    4. Complete all the other fields.
    After this is done, close that pane. Now back in U & G, select Login Options.
    Set Automatic login to your husband's name.
    Restart the computer, and select your husband's name. Check that all is well.
    You can now, if you wish, go back to U & G, unlock and select your own name and click the - sign. That will remove your name from the computer.
    You will also need to configure Mail for your husband's email with his password. When he first clicks on Mail he will be guided through the setup steps.

    In BIEE11g, I created an Agent for scheduling to generate PDF files from Analysis.
    In tab: "Delivery Content", I choose PDF in field "Format", and BIEE will automatically chooise option "Deliver as attachment".
    At the same time, in tab: "Destinations", I just choose "Home Page and Dashboard" for field: "User Destinations".
    After scheduling time, an Alert is generated, and there is data and graph embedded in the content of the Alert. However, I don't find any URL for downloading PDF file. I want to make use of BIEE Agent that so that I can keep snapshot data for the report.
    Anyone know where where is the PDF file, generated by Agent (BIEE11g), stored?

    A nice way to achieve this is to export the reports to the server's filesystem using the Actions tab > Invoke Server Script. On a Windows server you can write a little VBScript or Javascript and pass it the PDF file which then gets saved to disk. I have some code if you are interested - contact me via my blog.
