In what server a class is running

Hello,
I have a web application in JSP. In a class, i need a environment varible that I'm recovering it with System.getProperty(). This variable can to exist or not, it depending in this web application Server I use. Could know I in the class what is the server in that the class is running?
Thanks.

I have a web application in JSP. Your Web app runs on the server where you have the servlet/JSP engine running, of course. All JSPs are compiled to servlets that run on that host. Any POJOs that are used by JSPs or servlets run on that host.
In a class, i need a
environment varible that I'm recovering it with
System.getProperty(). This might not be the best idea. Security is one reason; dependence on a particular server configuration is another. You'd be more certain to have the value you need if you put it in your Web app's web.xml as a <context-param>.

  • Apache FileUpload - what version of Tomcat can run it?

Hi. I'm trying to use the Apache Commons FileUpload component (http://commons.apache.org/fileupload). It works fine on my local PC (Java 1.5.0_15) but fails on the Unix server running Tomcat 4.1.29 and Java 1.4.2_12-b03. I've got the latest version of the upload component in the WEB-INF/lib folder. It throws this error (included only the top section; there are more, similar errors having to do with each fileupload component call). Do I need an older version of the upload component to work with this version of Tomcat and Java? If so, which version do I need to download? The oldest I could find dated to 2003. Thanks.

Apache FileUpload - what version of Tomcat can run it?First of all, why don't you ask Apache specific questions at the Apache mailinglist?
Regarding to your actual problem: those are just ordinary compilation errors which are complaining that the mentioned packages and classes aren't available in the classpath. The solution is obvious: add the mentioned packages and classes (or in this case, the JAR file(s) with it) to the classpath during compile time and you're fine.

  • Can you find out what packages a class has imported?

Hi all, I start my final year at uni in september and at the moment i'm just experimenting with stuff while i try and decide what to do for my final year project.
Without going into too much detail what i want to be able to do is for the client to "submit" a class file that is then dynamically loaded and run on the server. Obviously this has security implications so what i was wondering was if it is possible to determine what packages a class has imported from the actual classfile.
I've looked through the vm spec but haven't been able to find anything theyre that looks like it'll help. Any suggestions or ideas (or solutions!) would be much appreciated.
    Thanks. Matt.

You could use the Class.getDeclaredClasses() to see the class types that exist as members, but that won't do you any good since the class will have already undergone static initialization within your VM, and the security breach would have already been made. You could inspect the constant pool in the class data to check what other classes are referenced but then that brings up several questions:
1 - How do you know which classes are bad? Even if you define a set, copies can be created in new packages (or simply aliased) so that the list is invalid.
2 - How do you know the class you are loading is not malicious? A client class may not reference any external class but may be malicious itself.
3 - The offending class might use reflection exclusively to reference classes without leaving a trace in the class file. This would be absolutely impossible to detect.
Your only choices are (a) to use signed classes, and make it the responsibility of someone to review the classes and sign them, or (b) install your own Security Manager to catch all prohibited activity, or (c) check as classes are referenced in the classloader. Option (a) is the best method, but (b) or (c) might work in a very restricted environment.

  • Why "slow server alert" when NO running requests and NO open connections??

The snapshot below says it all.  Why on earth would my dev machine with no running requests, and no open database connections, kick off a slow server alert?
I will tell you that at the exact same time this snapshot was generated, my other two servers WERE hung and were reporting "Unresponsive alerts", and they connect to the same databases.  I am chasing down a chronic communication failure between our database and web servers where everything with a databae connection gets locked/hung at the same time every night, 7 days a week.  The hang lasts anywhere from a few mins to 40+ mins.
Is this why my dev server would report slow?  And if so, is it the skimmers or what that's causing a slow server alert??  Would it only report "Unresponsive" if there were actual page requests hanging, vs. a "Slow Server Alert"?
This is CF10 (update 12) 64-bit on Windows 2008 R2, IIS 7, connecting to separate Oracle 11g server.
    Thanks for any insights.

I'm pretty sure the problem here is somehow related to my other post, but for shites and grins I would still like to know how I can receive a Slow Server alert when no actual page requests are running and it says there are 0 open connections to any of the datasources.

  • How do i find out if the server admin daemon is running

    Hi All,
I've got an OS X server that for some reason ( probably due to me pratting around) has decided not to have a working server admin prog. I can fire up the client program and point it at any of the IP addresses that the server is looking at and then you get an error message basically saying that the server admin daemon is not contactable.
    So ...
1). How can i find out if the back end daemon is running
2). what port(s) does it listen on
3). How can I turn on some logging to see what's happening when I run serve admin
4). Any other tips as to how to find out why its not working
    Rgds
    Alex

You should post this in one of the forums in the Mac OS X Server v10.5 Leopard category. You'll get better response there.

  • How do I find out what Package a class is in

I am trying to find out what Package the classes XMLNode and XMLInterface are located in. Is there a way to search for a class to find out what package it is held in ?
Quite often I see example code but spend wore time working out what package the class is in than actually writing code. Am I being really stupid ? (Don't answer that !!)
    Many thanks for any tips
    Dan

you can find the class path by searching the $JAVA_TOP directory.
    Login to apps server.
    cd $JAVA_TOP
    find . -name "Classname.class"
    --Prasanna

In configuration manager service manager, the service sms_srs_reporting_point is running.
In Reporting services configuration manager, the service is running.
If I restart the reporting service, it doesn't helps.
    What is not properly?

I've already found the reason why all stopped working - someone deleted the report manager URL HTTPS bindings (in Report services configuration manager). Added it back, than reporting started to work. Awww!

  • Classpath, weblogic.class.path, server's class path, javaclasspath, serverclasspath ?? confused

When I type t3config , I see a couple of class paths and I'm confused which
    one is which and
what are the diffrences between them, there is classpath, javaclasspath,
    serverclasspath, weblogic.class.path
and JVM class path, Server's class path on the weblogic console window.
    any clearification is appreciated.
    thanks,

Why would you do that - same class in both class paths? Don't.
Don't put any application classes in the system
    classpath (JAVACLASSPATH).

  • How can we determine exactly what server an RMI object is bound to?

We have RMI objects that bind to a server in a cluster. How can we determine for
monitoring purposes what server a RMI object is currently bound to /executing
    on?
We have tried the most of the Mbeans but can't find one that returns runtime info
for startup classes or RMI objects.
We have a new monitoring requirement we are trying to satisfy.

  • How to find my class is running in the same machine or not

    Hi,
Can any one help me, I have a class called TestClass it has a main method. I want to restrict this class, to run only one occurrence in my system. i.e. If I open 2 command prompts and If I run this class in 2 command prompts, in one command prompt it should run, in another command prompt it should display msg like "This class is already running in the system".
    Thanks in advance.

You could simply create a text file, if that file
does not already exist. If it
does exist, you know you are already running. Just
    remember to delete the
file on exit of the original running instance. This is not as reliable as the previously mentioned server socket approach. With this approach, if your program crashes, it may not delete the file. With the socket approach, even if the program crashes, the socket will be released.

  • What does the class CL_EXITHANDLER do ? What the significance of this class

what does the class CL_EXITHANDLER do ? What the significance of this class,

    Peters,
    Welcome to SDN!
you can see this class in SE24 and than choose GET INSTENCE method DB on it. than put break-point on
    CALL METHODcl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface
finally run any t-code you will come into debugger mode and if you see in exit_name value after pressing F6 you will get BADi name of this perticuler T-code.
basically we use this class for findings BADi.

  • OC4J Server startup classes and JNDI

    Hi,
I have been using server startup classes in standalone OC4J provided with BPEL developer install to populate data from the server.xml into the JNDI server.
Now I am deploying the BP to 10gAS and am unable to identify the configuration files that affect the contents of the JNDI server which is accessible from BPEL.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks,
    Toby

    Clemens,
What we would like to do is to lookup configuration details in OC4J's JNDI server.
As an example, we have an ftp web service that is used for functionality not available in the FTP adapters, deleting files, executing remote commands etc.
We need to store the details of ftp connections somewhere centrally, and jndi looks like a good option. Something slightly different we would like to do here is to be able to access the configuration details that the FTP Adapters use, but if that's not possible, seperate entries in the jndi server would be good.
To populate the JNDI server, we have written a server startup class which loads our custom configuration details at OC4J startup.
This works fine under the OC4J supplied with a developer install, but when we deploy our code to a full blown 10g AS we cannot access the config information.

  • Property toplink.server.platform.class.name is deprecated, property toplink

I am facing a current problem by trying to deploy my application which is using TopLink to OC4J 10.1.3. The problem is that it is written in the log.xml file:

    </PAYLOAD>
    </MESSAGE>
But I can not find file -RMPU.transaction in my WAR package. That means it is created durring the deployment... When the undeployment phase starts after the unsuccessful deployment all the files are deleted too. I can't modify the -RMPU.transaction file to use property toplink.server.platform.class.name instead of toplink.target-server.
Why is the file -RMPU.transaction created? What does it do? How to get rid of it?
Is there any solution to this problem?

It was only a warning. The problem was that the container I was using for testing damaged somehow. I removed it and created an other one and everything went fine.

  • Connection rejected, the server is in a running state.

Have deployed webservice within weblogic. WLS starts up fine. Users can access the webserver, after a period of time, webservice hangs up and users that try to connect recieve this following message, I also see this in the weblogic.log
The server is not able to service the request. Connection rejected, the server is in a running state. Starting service weblogic.application.internal.BackgroundDeploymentService$WaitForBackgroundCompletion, 110 of 112. Last service weblogic.deploy.service.internal.adminserver.HeartbeatService took 2ms.
I have no idea what to do. Right now the only way to bring back the webservice is to stop the WLS process and then restart. The service can fail anywhere from within about 20 mins of WLS start-up or about within 12hrs.
Any Ideas what this error is trying to tell me.. Is there a more permanent fix other that restarting the WLS process.
    Thank you

wow same case here in weblogic 10.2. But I have not deployed any EJB or JMS service . It shows in Console that "Mejb" Stateless service is running. I use https port from SSL mostly.
    the error was:
The Server is not able to service this request: [Server:002623]Connection rejected, the server is in the RUNNING state. Starting service weblogic.jms.JMSServicePostDeploymentImpl, 120 of 122. Last service weblogic.ejb.container.timer.EJBTimerStarterActivator took 2ms.
The client could not connect to https pages then.
    It occured for hours.
I saw a solution that said:
    BEA-002623
Notice: Connection rejected, the server is in the state state.\r\n Starting service svr, num of total.\r\n Last service last took timems.
    Description
Clients are trying to connect to the server before it is in the RUNNING state.
    Cause
Clients are trying to connect to the server before it is in the RUNNING state.
    Action
When I was not starting any service why should it say so?
I am in a big mess in my production server .
Dear oracle weblogic geeks please come forward and show your ability.
I cannot restart my server every 1 hour or 4 hour or 12 hour.
    I use Jrockit 1.6
    ojdbc6 driver
I also use a connection pool from with in Weblogic to test my Oracle 10.2 RAC.
let me know asap if any solution exist.
