  • SAX Transformation

    Hi,
    I have a problem with creating a SAX Parser on the PI 7.1 server. I get the following error in the log when I test the code in the repository and in the message flow.

    When I run the code on my local computer I dont get any problems. Does anybody know how I set up a SAX parser.
    I currently use the following code.
         public void execute(InputStream is, OutputStream out)
         throws StreamTransformationException {
              try{

                   // create parser
                   DefaultHandler handler = this;
                   SAXParserFactory parserFactory = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
                   SAXParser saxParser = parserFactory.newSAXParser();

    As I do not want to crosspost please take a look at the below thread:

    You could try this instead:

    hd.startPrefixMapping("b", "http://example.com/b");
    hd.startElement("http://example.com/a", "tag", "a:tag", atts);

  • Upgrading to J2SE 1.4.2-beta causes XML problems

    I upgraded to 1.4.2-beta and now portlets in Jetspeed display the following error:
    problem in SAX transform: org.apache.xml.utils.WrappedRuntimeException: The output format must have a '{http://xml.apache.org/xalan}content-handler' property!
    This did not happen with 1.4.1. Is there some workaround without dropping back to 1.4.1?
    Please also refer to Apache/Jakarta Jetspeed Bug 21131 for discussion of the impact.
    I have tried moving xalan and xerces jars into $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/endorsed without success.
    I think that the XML parser should be removed from the JDK. This is causing a great deal of impact. With a XML parser included in the JDK there is no way to override it on an application by application level. You can only override it on a JVM or Servlet container level. This is not satisfactory.
    -1 on including an XML parser in JDK.

    I too have this problem when deploying my webapp to Tomcat 4.06. I never had problems with 1.4.0!

  • XSL problem with javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory

    Dear sirs,
    I use SAXTransformerFactory in order to transform a Hashtable to SAX Event and apply a XSL.
    I try this code with the lastest version of apache parser.
    It run well.
    But, I put this software to WEBLOGIC 6.2 server and no run.
    this check is true:
              if (transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory.FEATURE)&&transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource.FEATURE))
    Some one can help me.
    Thank in avance
    The code:
    java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream bout = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream();
              com.cajarural.xml.HashtableParser parser = new com.cajarural.xml.HashtableParser(hashtable);
              // Codigo para el TansformerHandler
              // set the destination for the XSLT transformation
                   javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory transFact = javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory.newInstance();
                   if (transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory.FEATURE)&&transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource.FEATURE))
    javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory saxTransFact = (javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory) transFact;
    javax.xml.transform.sax.TransformerHandler transHand = saxTransFact.newTransformerHandler(templates);
    transHand.setResult(new javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult(bout));
    parser.setContentHandler(transHand);
    // attach the XSLT processor to the           parser.parse();
              return new String(bout.toByteArray());

    put Xalan in your war file then try using this kind of commands:     System.setProperty("org.xml.sax.parser", "org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory", "org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl");
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory", "org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl");
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory", "org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl");This tells JAXP what implementations it should use without even asking your administrator to modify the WebLogic setup...
    It's what I've done with the WLS7.0 server I am using ;-)

  • Detecting transform errors when using org.xml.sax.XMLFilter

    I am using javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory.newXMLFilter to transform xml against a pipeline of stylesheets (See function testPipelineTransform in the example below). The process works okay, excepting that I cannot figure out how to detect errors in the transformation process.
    I would like to achieve the same result for the pipeline process as I would for a single transformation using javax.xml.transform.Transformer.setErrorListener. The example below demonstrates how the call to javax.xml.transform.Transformer.setErrorListener does not generate the same result when using org.xml.sax.XMLFilter as it does when using a single transformation.

  • Problem transforming SAX events

    The following code parses a CSV file creating SAX events. If no XSL file is passed, it correctly does an identity transform and creates output so my assumption is that the parsing is working OK. However if I pass an xsl file containing the identity transfromation, I get no output and no exceptions. This is frustrating. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    String csvFileName = args[0];
    String xsltFileName = (args.length < 2)?null:args[1];

    You will need Xalan (from xml.apache.org) for this to work properly, and to create an instance of TransformationException and ConfigurationException:
    static public void serialize(Document document, OutputStream target, boolean indent)
              throws IOException, ConfigurationException, TransformationException {
              try {
                   Transformer transformer = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
                   if (indent)
                        transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
                   transformer.transform(new DOMSource(document), new StreamResult(target));
              catch (TransformerConfigurationException configure) {
                   throw new ConfigurationException("Error instantiating XML transformer", configure);
              catch (TransformerException transform) {
                   /** @todo Need to write a generic transformation or serialization exception */
                   throw new TransformationException("Error transforming XML", transform);

    you are unable to deserialize the data from the client what you have at the moment. There ius some datatype which you are unable to process / maybe it was added recently and you do not have the latest client to process that.
    The solution would be do some changes at e changes at you client side / regenerate client which will understand the new datatype else do changes to server side to make the data type simpler / revert.
    Hope this helps

  • How to create new XML file using retreived XML content by using SAX API?

    hi all,
    * How to create new XML file using retreived XML content by using SAX ?
    * I have tried my level best, but output is coming invalid format, my code is follows,

    Sax.endDocument();
    Sax.endElement("", "basic-metadata", "basic-metadata");* In CreateXMLFile.java
    class, I have retreived the xml content in the meta_data object, after that i have converted into character array and this will be sends to SAX
    * In this case , the XML file created successfully but the retreived XML content added as an text in between basic-metadata Element, that is, retreived XML content
    is not an XML type text, it just an Normal text Why that ?
    * Please help me what is the problem in my code?
    Cheers,

    <code class="jive-code jive-java">Sax.endElement("", "pdf", "pdf");
    Sax.endValidation();
    Sax.endDocument();
    * I HAVE CHANGED MY AS PER YOUR SUGGESTION, NOW SAME RESULT HAS COMING.
    * I AM NOT ABLE TO GET THE EXACT OUTPUT.,WHY THAT ?
    Thanks,

  • What's wrong with my transform? Please help!

    I have a program which is trying to transform some XML data into HTML. I'm using DOM, and am selecting a node with getElementByID(). This Node is then passed to the transformer, and the data it contains should be output with HTML markup. However, the transform outputs the XML data, but with none of the HTML formatting contained in the XSL! I have a very simple program here to demonstrate what I mean
    Here's the XML:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <people xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
         xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="file:/C:/test.xsd">
        <person employee_no="e124">
            <name>Mary Jane</name>
            <address>420 High St</address>
            <phone>555-0123</phone>
        </person>
        <person employee_no="e123">
            <name>John Smith</name>
            <address>123 Boulevard Rd</address>
            <phone>555-0918</phone>
        </person>
    </people>Here's the XSL:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">
        <xsl:output method="html"/>
            <xsl:template match="/">
                <html>
                        <p>Name: <xsl:value-of select="person/name"/><br/>Address: <xsl:value-of select="person/address"/><br/>Phone: <xsl:value-of select="person/phone"/></p>
                </html>
            </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>And here's the code that is giving me problems - it selects a node using getElementByID and tries to apply that node to the transform.
    package xsltest;
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.*;

      org.w3c.dom.Document xmlDoc;
      public XSLTest() {
        /*Load the XML file, with Schema validation turned on*/
        try {

            parser.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema", true);
            parser.parse(xmlPath);
            xmlDoc = parser.getDocument();
        catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); }
        File outFile = new File(outPath);
        File xslFile = new File(xslPath);
        StreamResult result = new StreamResult(outFile);
        StreamSource xsltSource = new StreamSource(xslFile);
        /*Select the element that we wish to output HTML for*/
        Node node = xmlDoc.getElementById("e124");
        DOMSource xmlSource = new DOMSource(node);
        try {
          javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory tff = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
          Transformer transformer = tff.newTransformer(xsltSource);
          transformer.transform(xmlSource, result);
        catch (Exception e) {
          e.printStackTrace();
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        XSLTest test = new XSLTest();
    }When I do this, I get an empty document containing only:
    Mary Jane 420 High St 555-0123
    What am i doing wrong here?

    Hello,
    try this:
    change the line
    Node node = xmlDoc.getElementById("e124");
    with this content:
    Node node = null;
    org.w3c.dom.NodeList theList = xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("person");
    for (int i = 0; i < theList.getLength(); i++)
    if ( ( (org.w3c.dom.Element) theList.item(i)).getAttribute("employee_no").equalsIgnoreCase("e124"))
    node=theList.item(i);
    The problem is, that the method "getElementByID" delivers "null" in your code.

  • Using the SAX Parser

    As I reported in this thread: Carriage Returns in XSLT output I am trying to produce a text output file with each line terminating in cr-lf (using the output from ViewObject.writeXML() passed through the XSLProcessor.processXSL() method to apply a XSLT stylesheet transformation to it), but the cr characters in the stylesheet are being converted to nl characters, so I am ending up with two nl characters at the end of each line.
    I found a 2002 query (here: http://www.xslt.com/html/xsl-list/2002-04/msg00193.html) by someone with the same problem, and a reply by Steve Muench explaining it and stating that the Oracle SAX parser does not have the same problem.
    So my question now is - does the SAX parser still retain cr characters (or is it too now converting them to nl) and if it does, how do I make XSLProcessor.processXSL() use it rather than the default XML parser? Can I do it from within my code, or does it need to be set in some sort of environment variable? We are on version 9.0.5.2 of JDeveloper(10g)

  • WL 6.1 to 8.1 XSL Error SAX Exception, Could not parse xsl document

    1)I have an application which is deployed and running successfully on WL6.1. The application uses lot of xsl style sheets. Parsers used were from xalan.jar and xerces.jar
    2)Now, I am migrating it to WL8.1, the application is deployed on 8.1 but when I open the login(first page) it gives the following error:
    ====================
    ABCD.xsl; Line 0; Column 0
    XSL Error: Could not parse C:/src/xslsheets/ABC4.xsl document!
    XSL Error: SAX Exception
    ====================
    3)As the previous versions of WebLogic Server included the unmodified versions of the Xerces parser and Xalan transformer from www.apache.org in the WL_HOME\server\ext\xmlx.zip file. The ZIP file no longer includes these classes and interfaces in 8.1.
    4)I understand it is the the Parser Exception and wud like to know the best possible way to solve this.
    Thanks
