    Hi ,
Even I am facing similar issue. Please let me know if you have any resolutions for this

  • DB Connect error: ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out

    Hi,
I am trying to connect to a external oracle database from SAP.
I entered the TNS entry of the external DB in the TNSNAMES.ORA and configured it in the table DBCON.
But i am not able to connect to the external database. It is throwing the error
    "sql error     12.535 ; occured:ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out"
But i was able to connect the database from my system through TNSPING and also from TOAD.
Do i need to configure any parameter in LISTENER.ORA in SAP or in the external database?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
The note which you specified was with BI objects. But i am trying to connect from SAP R/3 to a remote Oracle database.
I got connected to the  remote Oracle database for an hour and it got disconnected by saying "TNS operation timed out".
The CONNECT_TIMEOUT parameter in LISTERER.ORA of the remote Oracle database  is missing.
Will this may be the cause for the "TNS operation timed out".

  • UNDOTBS1 and SYSAUX Tablespace Filename Mismatch in Oracle 11g XE

    Hi,
We have installed Oracle 11g XE 32 bit on Windows and found that Tablespace name and filenames are mismatched for UNDOTBS1, SYSAUX.
    If you run following query:
SELECT TABLESPACE_NAME, FILE_NAME FROM DBA_DATA_FILES; You will get below output:
    TABLESPACE_NAME                    FILE_NAME

SYSTEM                C:\ORACLE\ORACLE11GXE\APP\ORACLE\ORADATA\XE\SYSTEM.DBFNotice the difference between UNDOTBS1 and SYSAUX.
UNDOTBS1 tablespace has filename SYSAUX.DBF while
    SYSAUX tablespace has filename UNDOTBS1.DBF
Is this a bug or just a wrong name mapping?
Will this affects the internal behavior of tablespace as well for undo tablespace and APEX Installation?
    Regards,
    Sohil Bhavsar.

Error: ORA-03297 ... related to this mismatch of UNDOTBS1 with SYSAUXActually its related to trying to resize a file smaller than the existing extents in use, so yes, restores aren't the only place that could cause confusion from the "incorrect" datafile names.
Fixing it could be done in one pass if you don't mind adjusting filenames so they don't clash, i.e. shut down your database instance and move the files at the OS, startup mount and rename the files in the database.
Don't use the services applet, the instance has to be shutdown with sqlplus, leave the database service running. If you try to open the database with OS files renamed but not corrected in the instance, the database won't open if there are troubles with the undo datafile.

Which means that the First and Last columns show the overall first and last date / time of the whole table. Please note that this is a dummy table. Sorry I am now allowed to write the actual query
I came up with since work policies do not allow me to share it. Also, I tried with windowing functions such as rank()and row_number() but my user does not have enough privileges to do so.
Any help or hints will be greatly appreciated.

Due to the fact that Oracle does not record the rows in any particular order, it would be wrong that the "first date" would be the first row processed by the query.
Therefore you would have to supply some other column if you do not want to consider the table as ordered by date.
Also, any analytical functions will need you to supply the "order by" and if its the date, then just a simple query will do:
    SQL>WITH Tab1 (Qty, Production_Order, Pdate)
      2       AS (SELECT 20, '00000000000000001', TO_DATE ( '12-JAN-14 00:02', 'DD-MON-YY HH24:MI') FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      3           SELECT 20, '00000000000000001', TO_DATE ( '12-JAN-14 00:05', 'DD-MON-YY HH24:MI') FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      4           SELECT 20, '00000000000000001', TO_DATE ( '12-JAN-14 00:07', 'DD-MON-YY HH24:MI') FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      5           SELECT 20, '00000000000000001', TO_DATE ( '13-JAN-14 00:09', 'DD-MON-YY HH24:MI') FROM DUAL UNION ALL
      6           SELECT 30, '00000000000000002', TO_DATE ( '12-JAN-14 00:11', 'DD-MON-YY HH24:MI') FROM DUAL UNION ALL

  • Need help in setting connection time out in Oracle 9i

My firewall is causing problems in that it is causing me to have timeout problems when tyring to start my Oracle 9i database.
The best solution is to reset my connect_timeout taht is to be found in listener.ora. But this has been replaced by initial_retry_timeout (I think) for Oracle 9i.
initial_retry_timeout is to be found in sqlnet.ora in
    C:\oracle\ora90\networkADMIN\SAMPLE
    it is set to 30
    #name.initial_retry_timeout = 30
There is another sqlnet.ora file in C:\oracle\ora90\network\ADMIN all these contains is:
    # SQLNET.ORA Network Configuration File: C:\oracle\ora90\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, ONAMES, HOSTNAME)
I added the following line to this file restarted my PC but time out still took 30 secs.
I dont have much experience of databases apart from writing sql and store procedures.
So I have no idea apart from pure guess work in trying to sort thsi problem out.
    Thanks for any help.
    Tony
    names.initial_retry_timeout = 5

You do not indicate whether you are using the Oracle Names server. The names.initial_retry_timeout tells Oracle Net how long to wait, in seconds, for a response from an Oracle Names server before it attempts the next in your preferred list. You indicated, however, that you were having a problem with your firewall. The only connection this setting has with a firewall is that the firewall may be causing the connection to the Oracle Names server to timeout. If that is your problem, then adjust the value of this parameter to increase or decrease the delay before Oracle Net attempts the next server in your preferred list. If, on the other hand, your problem is in connecting to a database, then this parameter will have no effect.
What I do not understand is how your firewall can cause problems with starting your database. Is this a software firewall running on your PC? If so, what program is it? You should be able to setup a rule in the firewall software to permit the connection.

  • How to store and use the BLOB data in Oracle 11G?

Recentlly, when I tested the Blob data in Oracle11G ,I found that there were too many differences between the SQL
Server and the Orcale on the capabilities. In Orcale ,I created the table like this:
    create table point
    xid number(10) primary key,
    North number(30,15) default null,
    West number(30,15) default null,
    South number(30,15) default null,
    East number(30,15) default null,
    Area number(30,15) default null,
    Len number(30,15) default null,
    Geometry BLOB default null
    organization index overflow
    tablespace "Tab1"
    lob (Geometry) store as securefile
    tablespace "Tab1"
    enable storeage in row
    chunk 4096
    pctversion 20
    nocache
    no logging
    compress high
and I stored 10248 rows in this table,
then ,I used "select geometry from point where xid > ? and xid < ?" as the testing SQL langauage in Java and the
programme runed once per 5000 pieces of memory.
the total time used in Orcale is twice more than that in SQLServer. In my Application programs, once the same
orders runed, their differences were three times and more.As usually, the capability of Orcale is more strongger
    than the SQLServer.Why?

select geometry from point where xid > ? and xid < ?"Does an index on XID exist?
Are statistics current for table & indexes?

  • Inbound connection & MTTR problem

    Dear Friends ,
I have to find the following errors in my production server . My oracle and server status is :

I also get this error frequently .
Can anybody plz help me ragarding this errors ? Waiting for ur kind reply .. ..

    Hi
    1) IIRC there is a bug related to this. Have a look to Metalink... you should be able to find it.
    2) IMHO the error description says it all..
    oracle@helicon:~/ [DBM10201] oerr ora 3136
03136, 00000, "inbound connection timed out"
// *Cause:  Inbound connection was timed out by the server because

//          specified by SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT or its default value
// *Action: 1) Check SQL*NET and RDBMS log for trace of suspicious connections.
//          2) Configure SQL*NET with a proper inbound connect timeout value

  • Inbound Connection Timeout ORA-3136

    Hi,
Certain users are getting locked automatically and when I checked the Alert log file I found
WARNING: inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136)
I referred to the Metalink doc : 465043.1.
I increase the SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT to 120, and still the users are getting locked, there is no network delay, there is no database performance degradation.
However, I found ORA 600 error in the alert log file along with the following errors

Does anyone know where I can find out definatively when Weblogic 10 and 9.2 will officially support Oracle 11g ?
    Any official BEA sources here.

There is only one real answer here: test it and test it thoroughly. Asking this question here is pointless, you cannot trust anyone here to give you advice you can rely on. Whatever is said, you have to validate the claims anyway.
Or did you think that Oracle employees were going to answer your question? If so, you are sadly mistaken. Oracle charges money for giving technical support.
