Include Flash Form In Main Body
Hi
I am totally new to cold fusion. I have this site that I
inherited
http://sunsetmovers.com I have
created this flash form
http://sunsetmovers.com/quote/sunset.html
How can I embed this form into the button coming at the end
of the
flash intro where it says "Click Here To Book Your Move"
I am totally confused. For instance if you go to the menu and
select
Resources > Moving Tips which calls for res_movingtips.cfm
the cf
script says
<cfset pagetitle="Moving Tips"><cfset
pagemenu="inc_side_resources.cfm"><cfset
pagehd="hd_generic.jpg"><cfset
pagebody="res_movingtips_body.cfm"><cfinclude
template="frame.cfm">
What I wish to do is embed this form so that it shows up in
the main
window so that the visitor can see the navigation and flash
intro
above. I hope I made complete sense in describing what I wish
to
accomplish.
Thanks for any help.

I Need Dire Help Making a Flash Form
Hello, I need some serious help creating a Flash Form.
I Have used a template from another site with the following
input boxes:
Name: __________
Email: __________
Comments: ____________
However, i had the script working fine, along with its php
script,
when i was trying to add more "text" boxes, i must have
messed the script up somhow.
When I submit that form, the name is send and email, but the
email is blank.. ie, there is no "comments"
here is the code:
on submit button:
on (release) {
// send variables in form movieclip (the textfields)
// to email PHP page which will send the mail
form.loadVariables("email.php", "POST");
sent email messege
onClipEvent(data){
// show welcome screen
_root.nextFrame();
and the php script (mailer.php)
php form email.pho
<?php
* PHP 4.1.0+ version of email script. For more
* information on the mail() function for PHP, see
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.mail.php
// First, set up some variables to serve you in
// getting an email. This includes the email this is
// sent to (yours) and what the subject of this email
// should be. It's a good idea to choose your own
// subject instead of allowing the user to. This will
// help prevent spam filters from snatching this email
// out from under your nose when something unusual is put.
$sendTo = "[email protected]";
$subject = "My Flash site reply";
// variables are sent to this PHP page through
// the POST method. $_POST is a global associative array
// of variables passed through this method. From that, we
// can get the values sent to this page from Flash and
// assign them to appropriate variables which can be used
// in the PHP mail() function.
// header information not including sendTo and Subject
// these all go in one variable. First, include From:
$headers = "From: " . $_POST["firstName"] ." ".
$_POST["lastname"] . "<" . $_POST["email"] .">\r\n";
// next include a replyto
$headers .= "Reply-To: " . $_POST["email"] . "\r\n";
// often email servers won't allow emails to be sent to
// domains other than their own. The return path here will
// often lift that restriction so, for instance, you could
send
// email to a hotmail account. (hosting provider settings may
vary)
// technically bounced email is supposed to go to the
return-path email
$headers .= "Return-path: " . $_POST["email"];
// now we can add the content of the message to a body
variable
$message = $_POST["message"];
// once the variables have been defined, they can be included
// in the mail function call which will send you an email
mail($sendTo, $subject, $message, $headers);
?>
If anyone can see why the "comments" section is not being
sent?
Also: My original problem was how do you add more text boxes.
I want something like this:
Name:
Address:
Phone:
Mobile:
Email:
Website:
Comments:
Ive spent days and days trying to work out how to first make
a form that actually works, then add more text fields
Ive looked at many basic form tutorials, but they all seem to
only have 3 or 4 text fields.. Name, Email, Comments... etc
I haven't a clue how to edit the script both in action script
and php to add more fields easy.
I really need some help with this, its turning into a
nightmare for me.
I can provide someone with my .fla project file if they care
to take a look at what im doing wrong.
Thanks
Pan
ps. Please note: "$sendTo = "[email protected]";" =
this line i know i must put in my own email.This is all about timelines. It seems there is a movieclip
named 'form' (or possibly an actionscript object, can't tell). Any
variables created on that timeline are sent.
So you could have your new textfields on another timeline.
Or you could have textfields with no instance name in the
form timeline.
Those are the first two things to look at. Post the FLA and
we can tell you more specifically. -
I have a site that is put together with cfmodule templates
for the header and footer, with integration with a content
management system that I built myself. I am trying to embed a
ColdFusion form with type="Flash" on the body of the page but it is
not compiling to Flash. If I remove it and go with a standard
cfform it works fine - but then I had to redo my cfformgroup tags
etc. I designed the form outside of the page -- and it generates
just fine.
Obviously there is some limitation to how and when a cfform
with type="Flash" will generate, when the page has cfmodules or
cfincludes. Is there any guideline I can use to determine when not
to try Flash Forms ? I do not want to spend the time on complex
form, only to discover I have to change it back to a standard
cfform. Any information on when a page can and cannot generate a
flash form would be appreciated - as many sites these days are
getting pretty complex with included content etc. Thank you.Hi Mow,
Yes, you cannot call javascript directly when you use
<cfform format="flash">. All methods (onClick, onBlur etc)
will call ActionScript, not JavaScript anymore.
This is not a perfect example, but you can get the picture.
You can copy and paste the code below into one cfm file.
<cfform>
<script language="javascript1.2">
function popup1() {
window.open ('
http://www.google.com');
</script>
<cfinput type="button" name="btnClick" value="Click"
onclick="popup1()">
</cfform>
<cfform format="flash">
<cfformitem type="script">
function popup2() {
getURL("javascript:window.open ('
http://www.google.com')");
</cfformitem>
<cfinput type="button" name="btnClick" value="Click"
onclick="popup2()">
</cfform>
Hope it helps

Hi,
I have the following code which is working fine except I can't get the user typed data from flash form to my default e-mail (MS Outlook) application. How to edit the following code?
In the code:

3) Subject ----> this may not be always as "Feedback", user may like to change the subject
Whant I would like to add more here is:
1) From ----> this text to be retrieved from "fromText.txt" input text box
2) Message ----> this text to be retrieved from "MessageText.txt" input text box

I have just about given up on flash forms. I have read just
about every thread in this Forum, but cannot find the answer.
Have worked with flash forms in the past, but after recently
upgraded to a new box with Vista Business and Codl Fusion 8 Dev
Edition I cannot get flash forms working. I have have seen a tonne
of postings with the same issue, but few with a resolution, and
where there is I try it and makes no difference.
If I run the following code:
<cfform format="flash">
<cfinput type="dateField" name="startDate" label="Start
Date:" mask="dd/mm/yyyy">
</cfform>
If I remove format="flash" form works fine. If I include
format="flash" form doesn't display. View source shows the code
there, CFIDE is mapping correctly etc.
One thing I do notice though, which may or may not be
involved is that when viewing the code generated, it is looking in
the same folder that the script that includes the form was in. Do I
need to tell it to look somewhere else? Pure speculation here, but
EVERYTHING else checks out.
If someone at Adobe can set this straight would be great,
because an afternoon spent reading other postings on this matter
shows there are clearly a lot of people stumbling around in the
dark on this one.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.Michael --
Thanks for your help.
I think I've narrowed the problem down -- it's not that it
won't display my flash form in IE, it's that it won't display it in
a Fusebox environment. I'm going to poke over at their site to see
what they have to say -- I suspect I'll need to upgrade the version
of Fusebox that I'm using. :) -
hi,
we are using webforms (application server 11).
when a client starts up a form in the browser the dialog for accepting the digital signature (oracle.forms.engine.Main) appears. in this dialog wether a button can be klicked nor the checkbox (always trust...) can be checked. still this dialog can be moved.
what's the reason for that?
we tried different jre versions (1.6 u12 - u20) and also patch 9553040 (jrefb-6u20-rev-b05-windows-i586.exe) doesn't work - the same problem appears.
regards,
matthiasIt does!
I [read this paper|http://forms.pjc.bean.over-blog.com/ext/http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/SigningJint13.pdf] before, years ago the first time. It's from *2002* and refers to JInitiator. And I read this paper again. But I stopped around page 13, reading
+"PROBLEMS WITH MULTIPLE SIGNING IDENTITIES+
+There is currently a restriction within Oracle9i Forms. If a Forms application is+
+started within JInitiator or the Sun Java Plug-in, which uses code signed with+
+multiple certificates ... This restriction will be lifted in a later release of Forms ...."+
Not one of my best ideas. Notice, Sun Plug-in is mentioned and +8 years+ might not be enough, obviously.
Reason behind the "re-appearance" of the problem with forms 11g is that the forms jars (including webutil) are now signed with an VeriSign certificate what was not the case with 10g. Downloading jacob.jar by your own, you get an unsigned jar file. Signing this, as you were used in 10g leads to the second signing identity and the freezing problem.
But let's see how we could solve the problem, for the moment, perhaps for the next 8 years. We
. took solution path 2 out of the aove cited paper (Register Your Custom Signing Certificate Separately).
. rename jacob.jar to jy_jacob.jar (we do not want to interfere with other forms application of other companies also using webutil)
. add the registration applet code as described in the paper to jy_jacob.jar
. sign jy_jacob.jar.
. [to be on the save side we repeated these steps for all our jar files, necessary for the application]
. rename webutiljpi.htm to webutiljpijy.htm
. modify webutiljpijy.htm by adding applet registration section before webutil registration. This reads like
<!-- Registration applet definition (start) -->
<OBJECT classid="%jpi_classid%"
codebase="%jpi_codebase%"
WIDTH="0"
HEIGHT="0"
HSPACE="0"
VSPACE="0">
<PARAM NAME="TYPE" VALUE="%jpi_mimetype%">
<PARAM NAME="CODEBASE" VALUE="%codebase%">
<PARAM NAME="CODE" VALUE="com.joynit.forms.applet.RegisterCertificateApplet">
<PARAM NAME="ARCHIVE" VALUE="%archive%,%webUtilArchive%" >
<COMMENT>
<EMBED SRC="" PLUGINSPAGE="%jpi_download_page%"
TYPE="%jpi_mimetype%"
java_codebase="%codebase%"
java_code="com.joynit.forms.applet.RegisterCertificateApplet"
java_archive="%archive%,%webUtilArchive%"
WIDTH="1"
HEIGHT="1"
HSPACE="0"
VSPACE="0"
>
<NOEMBED>
</COMMENT>
</NOEMBED></EMBED>
</OBJECT>
<!-- Registration applet definition (end) -->
. modify formsweb.cfg so that webutiljpijy.htm and jy_jacob.jar are used (original settings as comments below)
baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpijy.htm
#baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
archive=frmall.jar,iText-5.0.3.jar,vzg_grafik.jar,vzg_images.jar,vzg_netz.jar,jy_pdfutil.jar
#archive=frmall.jar
WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jy_jacob.jar
#WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
And then, after flushing the jar cache, success! No freezing. It was possible to confirm the certifcates and to start the application.
Thnx to Mia Urman and the oracle forms communitiy on [http://oracleformsinfo.wordpress.com/] , who gave me the tip... There is another, easier solution.
Never set one of the original oracle jar-Files on pole position (1st position) in one auf the archive parameters. This leads to hanging.
Put one of your self-signed jar-Files in front and let the oracle jars follow. The forms application will start properly.
It work with 3 different signing authorities, also. What makes hope for 4, and so on.

Hello. This is what I am trying to accomplish. I am making a
tabbed registration flash form and I would like the person
completing the form to see a total as he makes the selection for
what he will be attending. The way I approached the problem was to
bind an ActionScript function to the
GRANDTOTAL form field, but when the form finishes loading in
the browser, the
NaN error pops up. I tried to convert the field selections
explicitly to numbers to perform the addition, but it is obviously
not working. If anyone could shed some insight into this, that
would be great. Thank you in advance. The code for the tab that
handles the selection is below.

PDFs do not e-mail as attachments but as main body text!
Whenever I attempt to send a PDF document by e-mail it forms part of the main body text rather than displaying as an attachment.
Answers please!When I attach a PDF to Apple Mail on Mountain Lion, it is an icon. When I send it to an iCloud mail destination, the attachment arrives and is presented as an icon, whether on OS X, or in IOS 6.
I suspect that the recipient's mail user agent is responsible for the full image .vs. icon behavior, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. -

</cfform>Hi-
I copied your form code and submitted the variables back to
that page, and got no error, for what that's worth. My guess is
that the prob. might be in the page you're submitting to rather
than in the form itself? -
Just upgraded from CF MX 6 to MX 7. Trying out flash forms,
but they are not working.
I tried out a simple First Name, Last name, Submit form
setting the form to flash. When viewing the page in Safari, Firefox
on a Mac and IE in Windows the page is blank. If I set take out the
flash tag and just leave it as a CFForm it shows perfectly in all
browsers. All browsers are able to view flash and shockwave files.
Not sure what is going on.
Any ideas?
Thanks.I am having the exact same issue. I have tried tutorial code
from several sites. I have added a name to my form. I checked to
make sure my CFIDE directory is mapped in my CFADMIN. I don't know
what else to try. Right now I have the exact same code for testing
as mishuno has. If i remove the type attribute I see a form. If I
add back in "format="flash"" I don;t see anything on the screen but
I do see flash code in the page source. HELP!!!!
<CFFORM width="500" name="testForm">
<cfinput type="text" name= "firstname" label="First
Name">
<cfinput type="text" name="lastname" label="Last Name">
<cfinput type="submit" name="submit" value="save">
</CFFORM>
I think I found the issue just now but I am not sure how to
change it. Although I have a CFIDE mapping ( /CFIDE set to:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CFIDE ) set up in my CFadmin, my application.log
is showing the following error:
quote:
File not found: /CFIDE/scripts/cfformhistory.cfm The specific
sequence of files included or processed is:
C:\Data\users\dev.myservername.com\CFIDE\scripts\cfformhistory.cfm
So the flash is looking in the wrong place for the form
related files (which are in my CFIDE folder in the correct
location)
Anybody know what I need to change on my server??

Re: flash form renders as blank page
Anyone find a solution from Adobe regarding the MS Server
2003 problem with
flash forms? Its dead on our site after the upgrade and the
fixes did not
work for us.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=1&catid=143&threadid= 1171893&highlight_key=y&keyword1=flash%20formsI'm having a similar problem. In my case, when opening help the first time (using a call to RoboHelp_CSH.js), the help window works properly. If I do not close the help window and click a help link (same call to RoboHelp_CSH.js), the help window blanks out entirely. I'm not sure if roblinc61 has a different copy of the whcsh_home.htm file than I do, but line 295 for me is three lines lower (goNewWnd.document.location.href=gsURL;).
The only answers I've been able to find about this error message relate to the same origin policy which should not apply to me as I am building an intranet application in which the help is held in a directory of the main site and is accessed through relative paths (in .NET I'm setting the starting point as ~/Help/index.htm). -
Flash Forms Stopped Working In ColdFusion 9
We moved our websites, many of which use Flash Forms, from a server running ColdFusion 7 to a server running ColdFusion 9.
At first all the Flash Forms in the various websites worked fine.
However, on the same day all the Flash Forms stopped working on the ColdFusion 9 server. No changes were made to the websites, to IIS 6, or to ColdFusion. We've restarted ColdFusion, IIS 6, and the server.
The error we get when loading a page that includes a Flash Form is:
412 Unknown
Here is the output reported by FireBug when loading a page (for example http://www.futurefamilydocs.org/test/testflashforms/index.cfm) that includes a Flash Form
The same page with the same flash form works fine in our ColdFusion 7 server (for example see: http://test.futurefamilydocs.org/test/testflashforms/index.cfm)
We cannot figure out what the issue is. Both servers are setup exactly the same Windows 2003, IIS 6, same ColdFusion settings, same access rights for internet users.
We'd appreciate any help as it will be significant work for use to change all the Flash Forms to normal forms. We're a small non-profit company and this is having a big impact on our members until we get it fixed or replace all the Flash Forms.
Thank You
Bruce PhillipsWe have found the error message coldfusion is generating when we try to access a page that has a flash form:
C:\ColdFusion9\runtime\logs\coldfusion-event.log
03/29 13:02:45 user CFSwfServlet: Error: The class 'mx.rpc.RemoteClassRelayResponder' could not be loaded.
03/29 13:02:45 user CFSwfServlet: at C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\futurefamilydocs\test\testflashforms\inde.mxml:393
I researched that error and found suggestions to redo the IIS configuration for ColdFusion. I did that but still get the same error. -
We have cold fusion 7 running on a windows 2003 IIS , there
are couple of flash forms that stops working after a while , so
only workaround we have is to restart IIS And Cold fusion server ,
has any body encountered such issues earlier ? i see exception

This code works fine in Firefox and IE. I did some searching and apparently this is a known issue that others have experienced as well.
