#include windows.h

Hi everyone,
Need some assistance from this growing community. I have
finally finished coding my C++ application which uses a API dll to
communication to an external system. This project uses this API dll
and therefore I must include its header file which refers to
windows.h for some Data structures, e.g DWORD, HANDLE, BYTE etc.
However, when I compile it in Alchemy, I get errors about not
finding the windows.h. Is there a way to compile it in alchemy with
a #include <windows.h>?
Are there any special g++ arguments I must use? I have set up
Alchemy in cygwin.
Thank you in advance,
Johnty
Thanks

before you go any further you do realise that air won't be
able to talk to this dll? or is it the code for the dll being
compiled into a swf with alchemy?
Either way you've got to remember the alchemy mantra: if you
can't write the same code in actionscript you can't use alchemy to
do it (i.e. if it performs system calls that don't map to
actionscript apis or if it uses wacky inline asm then it won't
work)

  • How to include Windows environment variables in e-mail action scheduled task

    Hello Support,
Is it possible to include Windows environment variables such as %username% or %computername% in the subject line or body of the "Send e-mail" action item of the Task Scheduler?  For example, I would like when I setup a scheduled
task to perform a certain task and send an e-mail message,  the email should include either the user name or computer name in the subject line and body of the e-mail.  Is that possible?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can create a new Scheduled Task preference item to solve your requirement.

I created a scheduled task and that does not provide what I need.  The scheduled task will simple send an mail, but I want to know from which machine or user triggered the email.  I also tried adding the batch file to the scheduled
task and that did not work even though the scheduled task has the following settings.
User Configuration >> Prefence >> Control Panel Settings >> Scheduled Tasks
When running the task, use the following user account
    NT AUTHORITY\System
Run whether user is logged on or not
    Run with highest privileges  HighestAvailable
    Configure for: Windows 7
I also tried with Computer Configurations

Is there a plugin that would allow me to import various formats (including Windows files)?

in addendum to Tom's reply …
to convert wmv and wma into Mac-friendly formats, you need the PlayerPro from
    http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac/
    for 29$
The other versions are only needed, if you want to convert TO wmv.
There're are orther converters avail, some for free, but wmv is a Microsoft-owned format, which costs licences.

  • I confront the message "blocked plug-in" on most included windows of safari browser internet sites on my old Macbook running snow leopard 10.6.8. Adobe flash updates are disconnected by Safari before they can be downloaded. Any cure for this?

I don't know if this question has already posted but if not here is my problem: I repeatedly get a blank screen except for the error message "blocked plug in" when browsing in safari and trying to view web page included videos. Is this an Adobe flash player rejection? I keep getting Adobe flash player update messages but when I click download this is blocked by Safari or OS security. Any user-fix out there?

Which Safari? Which Flash? I'm running Safari  5.1.10 (6534.59.10) w/Flash Player 13.0.0.214 and am not getting any of those messages. To get the latest Flash Player, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, download the latest version, and install it.

  • Mac Security on a wireless router that includes Windows PCs

Just yesterday I took the plunge and purchased my first Mac---a MacBook Pro 2.4GHX with 4G of Ram. I am 62 years old and up until now have been using PCs my whole life (or that part of my life since personal computers became available). I have not as yet set up the MacBook but before I do I have one question (maybe many more in the future). I did not plan on installing any security software on my MacBook because friends and Apple Store employees told me it was not necessary and would only hog resources, etc. Good enough. However, I will be using the MacBook exlusively at home. My family and I have two Windows PCs that are connected to our ISP via a wireless router and I will be setting up the MacBook Web Access through the wireless router as well. My question is, although I am aware there has never been a successful reported Mac exploit in the wild would my MacBook be at risk if a virus or spyware or bot were to infect one of the PC's on our home network? Also, since the router employs a hardware firewall do I need to turn on the Mac firewall when I set up my MacBook. Since I am a brand new user and also not exactly a techie I hope someone can answer these questions. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

I answered the questions that were asked. "What will be, will be"
If you want to talk about security in relation to malware in general:
While there are no known viruses that attack Mac OS X at the present time, it is possible for spyware to get onto your Mac.
So I go to lenghts to protect my user. A hosed system can be replaced but a compromised user folder is compromised forever. Along with all your important data like bank records, credit cards, ... I.e. your "identity" stolen.
The best way to avoid that is by using your built-in firewall which is industrial strength and/or a hard wired router, downloading only from "trusted" sites, installing all security updates and being careful about what you give administrative power to. It is also recommended to run day to day tasks from a non-admin account.
Don't use Limewire or any other P2P service to download your software, get it from reputable sources. In addition, always keep at least your users backed up, preferably a clone of your entire system on a separate disk. And put your sensitive passwords, bank accounts, credit card numbers in a "secure note" in a new keychain or in an encrypted folder.
If and when a Mac virus does appear it will be headline news and you can download the AV software then. If you feel you have to run an AV program I'd suggest ClamXav a mac friendly freeware app that is very stable with OS X. It will check for known virus signatures at any rate.
    Hope this helps.

  • Consequences of including Windows.pvm file?

i had an issue with my parallels virtual installation on my MBP and realize I was excluding the .pvm file from my backups which I would like to start /including/.
is there some issue with the fact that this is a 40 or 50 GB single file as it relates to doing incremental backups? i mean, i guess i am asking if this is going to take up a very large amount of space very fast for some reason.
there was some suggestion on the parallels boards to set parallels to store the data as a set of 2GB files which might cut down on the size incremental backups take up but I don't want to do anything unless i absolutely have to.
can i back up this file without huge increases in the amount of space it takes up??
    TIA

    OK. Thank you.
Can I just ask here if anyone knows if this is pretty straighforward in Parallels? I mean, I guess there is some Option that tells the software to store the data in 2GB pieces and that this does not have any consequences or deleterious effects...
    Thanks!

  • MDT: deploy a WSUS-server/SCCM and include Windows updates?

    Hi,
I'd like to deploy an sccm-server which will contain a WSUS-server. However, this SCCM-server itself should go to Internet and download all updates available. How can I achieve this in a tasksequence step?
    Pls advise.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

Is this an MDT question or an SCCM question?
The SCCM server would need the Software Update Point role installed but that doesn't make it a WSUS server, per se. SCCM uses the metadata from WSUS to download updates to packages. It does not function like a standalone, traditional WSUS server.

  • Fatal error C1189: #error : WINDOWS.H already included.

    Hi,
Can someone please explain why the following cpp file can get a compile error below?

    Hi Rajesh,
But, as you can see, I didn't include "stdafx.h" in the cpp file.  As I mentioned, there is only one include statement.  Another evidence is to add the 3 marco statements you recommended as below.  I get the same error.  The
middle macro statement is de-highlighted.  It means _windows_ is not defined.  So, somehow, in this case, afxwin itself causes this error.  I really cannot explain.  Any thought?  Thanks.

  • Cannot install windows 8.1 on imac 5k - apple support says "Correct, that machine can't install windows" Boot camp fail

I have a brand new imac 5k, with 4ghz i7, 295x GPU, 3.1TB fusion drive.  Bought the machine so I could dual boot - I need windows for VR Dev work.
I've spent the last week and a half on tech support calls with Apple Senior Tech agents, and Microsoft agents as well, and today have been told that indeed this machine cannot run windows 8.1.  Apparently Apple engineering knows about the issue, but says the problem is microsoft's.  Ugh.
The latest iteration of the issue comes when installing 8.1 onto an external thunderbolt SSD (without even using boot camp) - I go through the EFI installer, convert the drive to GPT, format it as ntfs, but when I select the partition to install onto, the installer says it can't find the partition it just created.  Smuh?
I've also tried the install through boot camp.  This installation actually worked twice, but the install was unstable.  After booting back into osX, then returning to Windows, the windows install went corrupt and couldn't be repaired.  Subsequent attempts to install windows yielded a flurry of different errors, including "windows doesn't support GPT in this mode" or "the disk is locked, please unlock the disk" or "MBR must be converted to GPT" (where once I converted to GPT, the drive could no longer be found, despite the operation completing successfully.)
At any rate, it's a huge mess.  I'd happily return the machine for a different config, but the company I bought it from will only swap it for a similar model -- so I've spent a pile on a machine that does not function as advertised; apple says "too bad, talk to Microsoft." Microsoft says "too bad, we've never seen this, this is an apple issue."
Has anyone out there gotten windows up and running on an iMac5k with fusion drive?  If so, did you have to go through a crazy maze to make it work?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    MC

    Michael Conelly wrote:
After much gnashing of teeth, and a half dozen support calls, I'd all but given up.  I finally seem to have solved this though - sort of - by installing windows 8.1 on boot camp on an older iMac, then cloning the bootcamp disk to an external thunderbolt drive via Winclone.  That worked seamlessly, sticking to winclone's instructions, and I can boot via EFI to Windows 8.1 on the new iMac.  So far so good.
I usually install W8.1 via EFI by using DU and a Free Space partition. The 3TB Fusion is first split into the underlying SSD/HDD physicals. OSX and Windows OSes are installed on SSD via EFI (no BCA). The OSX part and half the HDD are then used to create a new CS volume. The other HDD half becomes NTFS for non-Windows OS files. The Hybrid MBR method is completely unsatisfactory with the 3TB Fusion drive.
How is the TB/Winclone image for performance of the OS (since pagefile.sys is also on the TB)?

  • Problem with StatelessConnectionPool and Threads on Windows XP

I am trying to use a StatelessConnectionPool in a multithreaded app under Windows using 10g. The problem is that when my application is exiting and I go to terminate the StatelessConnectionPool, I get an access violation inside Environment::terminateStatlessConnectionPool.
