  • Including a jar file inside an executable jar file

    Is it possible to include a jar file inside another (executable) jar file such that the included file is part of the class path for the outer file? If so, how do you specify this in the classpath in the manifest?

    What do you see as the advantage of doing that?
    Is your app. a rich client (e.g. Swing, AWT, SWT..)?
    Can you distribute the app. from a server or the internet?

  • How to include ojdbc.jar with applet in apex

    Hi,
    I am integrating applet with apex. I need to use ojdbc.jar to connect to Database. How can i include this jar. I tried uploading it as a static file. But i am not sure how to embed it with applet code in region source of a page. I am using following code to embed the applet.
    <applet code="TestApplet.class" archive="#APP_IMAGES#Test.jar" width="500" height="500">

    Thank you all for help, from your posts I was able to get the datepicker working with a different version of jQuery (but not jQueryUI) included on the page. There are two methods:
    1. Include the new library before #HEAD# and change the reference to a different variable, for example:
    <script src="jquery-1.6.4.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var jq164 = jQuery;
    </script>
    #HEAD#2. Include the new library after #HEAD# and enable noConflict() mode, for example:
    #HEAD#
    <script src="jquery-1.6.4.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var jq164 = jQuery.noConflict(true);
    </script>In both examples above, $, jQuery and apex.jQuery point to apex jQuery, while jq164 points to the new one.
    However, I couldn't manage to include a newer version of jQueryUI. I only found a page ([url http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6358961/using-multiple-jquery-ui-versions]http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6358961/using-multiple-jquery-ui-versions) that says you have to specify a different context for each version of jQueryUI included on the same page. I haven't yet had time to look at this, so if anyone already knows how to do it, it would be really nice to share it with us.

  • Include many jars for a complex signed applet in html file??

    hello
    I'd like to know how it's possible to put a signed applet in an html file, that needs many jar files.
    I explain myself: I know that to create a signed applet and to put it in an html file, I need to create a Jar file that contains this applet, create a private key with keytool, sign the jar and include it in my html file with the tag <applet code="....." archive="......jar".... />
    This works fine if my applet is a simple program that only uses the clases present by default in the jdk.
    In my case, I have a big project, with many packages. In one of these packages, I have my applet that uses some classes of the other packages, which use classes from imported jars, such as BouncyCastle, and others...
    There is still no problem when I run the applet from the applet viewer.
    The problem appears when I put the JAR file with all these classes in the html file: there is a problem since it doesn't know anything of these classes imported from these jars.. It's quite obvious actually.
    My question is: how do I do to make the html file aware of these classes? Is there an html tag that allows us to include many jar files? Do I have to decompress all these jars, take all the directories, add them to the directories of my project and create a BIG jar (that's what I did, but it's really dirty, and heavy! (11M))??
    Does anyone have an idea about how I can do it?
    Thanks for your help
    Philippe

    11 MB is pretty big for an applet.
    Let's say your applet uses java 3d, normally a client would download and
    install this seporately, meaning the jars needed end up in lib/ext directory where
    any applet can find them.
    Check what applets need to be installed (put in lib/ext) and what can be
    downloaded:
    <object .....
    <param name="archive" value="myJar.jar, myOtherjar.jar" />

  • ANT - Jar File include another Jar file and importing classes

    Here is the directory structure i have set up:

      \classes
      \include
        - ftpClient.jar
        - info.xml
      \jar
        - FTPGetter.jarThe code compiles file and can create a Jar file without errors. But when I execute the Jar file, I get
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/abc/ftpclient/FTPwhich is a class that I import from the ftpClient.jar file in FTPGetter.java
    What gives?

  • To include a JAR file that contains enterprise beans in a WAR module

    1)I'm studying java ee tutorial in 6 but I do not understand what he means by "To include a JAR file that contains enterprise beans in a WAR module, add the JAR to the WEB-INF/lib directory of the WAR module" at this link:

    how do I create a file. jar to hold the enterprice beans in netbeans?
    2)
    as regards the case study prensete always in the tutorial "dukes-forest" I do not understand how it is structured, I think that the "dukes-store" is a web application (web module. war) to which are added other projects "entities "etc. .. is that correct? if it is right how do I create the project "entities" in netbeans? how do I add it to the project "dukes-store"?

    Hi,
    I have also tried putting the actual jar file in my
    jar file that I created, that didn't work either.
    I didn't try extracting the contents of the jar file
    into mine because the directory structure would
    conflict my dir structure in the jar file (manifest
    file that is)Out of curiosity are you trying to use executable jar files? If so you might want to put the classpath in the manifest using Class-Path: blah.jar etc. Be remember that this resolves to the disk filesystem not the internals of the jar that is being executed. In other words - the blah.jar file resides in the same directoy on the disk as your executable jar.
    If you could clearly describe what you are trying to achive and how it is structured I am sure we could give you more pointers.

  • How to combine Jars or Include dependent Jars into One Jar

    Hello,
    I have build a small utility using few libraries now i want to make a bundle or jar of this utility. I don't want to let use includes the jars individuals. I want to make a single jar using all the jars so user needs to include only one jar.
    So i need to include the dependent Jar files into a single jar.
    I got few solutions using Google.
    Like:
    adding a Class-Path: myjar.jar to MANIFESTfile.
    simply update the jar with jar using commnad jar uf main.jar myjar.jar_
    but these are not working. when i use the Class-Path option the Tree of main jar looks like
    main.jar
        <default-package>
             myjar.jar
        META-INF
             MANIFEST.MF
    How can i combine the Jars into a single Jar? Please help.

    It is to tell the JVM where to look for additional classesDoes it mean if i includes dependent jars to main jar and if i specify the path then JVM find that jars to specified pathThat's what 'telling the JVM where to look for additional classes' means, isn't it? I don't know what else it would mean.
    and don't need to include it separately?You only have to specify the Class-path in the manifest, and run the JAR file with java -jar. In fact if you specify a classpath on the command line with java -jar it will be ignored.
    All this is in the documentation.

  • Create a SOA Bundle that Includes the JAR Profile

    Hello experts:

    I am at the step
    41.7.3 Deploying and Using Shared Metadata Across SOA Composite Applications in Oracle JDeveloper
    This Step (41.7.3.1.2 Create a SOA Bundle that Includes the JAR Profile) talks about creating SOA bundle.. But I do NOT see the SOA bundle in the deployment screen.
    I see JAR, RAR, SOA-SAr etc.. BUT not the SOA bundle..
    What mistake I am making??? Can you please throw some light??
    Thanks

    Sirisha,
    SOA Bundle option is available under Application Properties --> Deployment --> New. I guess you are looking it under Project properties.
    Hope this helps.

    Update 3.x branch to include browserServer.jar in the packaged qa sdk zip.
    Modified Paths:
    blazeds/branches/3.x/qa/apps/qa-regress/build.xml

    I've been playing with this too.
    What kills it for me is my inability to get intelfb running properly on my eee 900 (says the module is loaded but there is no /dev/fb/0 device). One suggestion is to use a vga= code instead of video=intelfb:[etc] in my /boot/grub/menu.lst . But that makes it impossible to have the 1024x600 resolution of the eee's screen, so I haven't even tried it.
    Why intelfb? Because mplayer's directfb driver has tearing even with buffermode=triple and mplayer's -double tag enabled when using uvesafb. Maybe I am assuming too much that the intelfb would have the hardware acceleration hooks necessary to make it work?
    The other thing that cripples it for me is the "stuck at 16 colors" nature of Linux console even when running a framebuffer with a 32-bit background. I've gotten a tip on changing those colors but it is obtuse at best. Very surprised that there hasn't been a 256 color (at least) framebuffer console developed yet. (Unless screen magically enables the extra colors?) dfbterm looks interesting but the last thing I want is windowed terminals when I am trying to use CLI.

  • Include rt.jar class files in my own jar file to run 1.2+ applets on MS JVM

    My problem is this. I'm writing an applet (which includes 1.2 classes) for my organization (over 2000 NT workstations) in which no one has administrative privelages to install Sun's JRE 1.2 or greater. The target browser is IE 5. Our NT admins are having problems pushing the JRE out so my only two options are to rewrite everything as 1.1 or somehow include the missing class files from rt.jar.
    I really do not want to rewrite it all!
    I was able to extract the missing class files (i.e. /java/util/HashMap.class) but I cannot figure out how to get the IE JVM to use them. Things I have tried:
    1. jarred up all my class files along with the missing classes from rt.jar.
    $ jar cvf test.jar *.class java
    added manifest
    adding: ArrayObj.class(in = 731) (out= 448)(deflated 38%)
    adding: DivMonGrid.class(in = 1509) (out= 812)(deflated 46%)

    adding: java/util/HashMap$1.class(in = 931) (out= 513)(deflated 44%)
    adding: java/util/HashMap$2.class(in = 800) (out= 454)(deflated 43%)
    adding: java/util/HashMap$3.class(in = 1608) (out= 904)(deflated 43%)
    adding: java/util/HashMap$EmptyHashIterator.class(in = 592) (out= 358)(deflated 39%)

    java/util/HashMap$3.class
    java/util/HashMap$EmptyHashIterator.class
    java/util/HashMap$Entry.class
    java/util/HashMap$HashIterator.class
    RESULT: IE JVM complains classnotfoundexception (its complaining about not finding HashMap.class)
    2. Tried to just place missing *.class files in same directory as my class files
    RESULT: Compiler error (complaining about file not be in correct path package) I understand this because when it was created the package statement has the class file in java/util/.
    If anyone has done this before or knows how to do it, please help me out.
    Thanks!

    When the collection classes first came out, I think they were available in a separate jar (although the package name may be slightly different). If it's just collection classes, that might be worthwhile looking at.
    The MS JVM may be spewing because the class format is too new; you may try with rt.jar classes from an older JVM (such as JDK 1.2), or try to recompile them from source using -target 1.1.

  • Including External JARs for Java Application in OC4J

    Hi Experts,
    Here is my requirement.
    I have developed my Java application using Tomcat Server & Eclipse. In my application I have used some External JARs & imported the classes in my JSP.
    Now that I'm using OC4J Server instead of Tomcat I'v no clue as to where I have copy these External JARs for my application to work.
    I have installed OBIEE-Client which includes OC4J server. The path where I have placed my application is as below
    *"C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\default-web-app"*
    If I run my application the server does not import the classes in the JSP which we include using Import statement using JSP tags (*ex* - <%@ page import = "org.apache.commons.fileupload.*"%>).
    This is the location which I found, where I need to put my Java-J2EE application. This OC4J_BI comes with OBIEE.
    Kindly help me out on where to place these External JARs exact location in OC4J.
    Also let me know if I have to alter any configuration/xml file (if so pls specify the file name & its location).
    Thanks in advance,
    Venky

    You can either include the external libraries in the application, by placing them into WEB-INF/lib, or you can import them into the server as "shared libraries", normally you'd use the "enterprise manager" application to do this. Having loaded a shared library you then add it to the classpath when you're deploying the application.

  • How to include external jars - URGENT...

    Hi:
    I am using Eclipse for development.
    My application uses some external jars.
    This step is simple in Eclipse, one simply indicates where the jars are to the IDE.
    However, when I make an executable JAR file from my project, those external JARs are not included.
    So when I run my program, everything is fine until the parts that uses the external JARs.
    Does anyone know how to include them outside of Eclipse platform?
    I am going to see my client in an hour and of course I can't bring my source and install an Eclipse at my client's computer to show them my demo...
    please help... thanx...

    You add those external jars to the classpath or the jars classpath if you're running the program from a jar. Or put the external jar to JAVA_HOME\lib\ext (IIRC)
