Including jars in deployment not part of EAR project...

Hi,
Just trying to see if I can include jars in a separate project (due to our cvs setup) in Workshop in my EAR project so that when I deploy to the server it picks up these jars. Obviously I can include other projects on the build path so it all compiles, but is there a way of including their jars when running the server so I don't get any ClassNotFoundExceptions?
Thanks.

Try this:
1. In the Project Properties for the EAR project, find J2EE Module
Dependencies page.
2. Add the jars located in another project as a dependency. Note that
you have to add each jar individually.
3. For each project that needs to see a particular one of these jars, go
to the J2EE Module Dependencies page for that project. You should see
all the jars listed. Check whichever ones this project needs to reference.
When the app is deployed or exported as an EAR, the jars will be in the
root directory of the EAR. The modules will reference the jars via their
manifest.mf files.
Hope this helps.

  • JAR files deployed to EBS server a not loaded by server

    Dear All,
    We deployed JAR files to Apache(Jserver) of EBS server, we put jar files to $OA_JAVA and added content of jar file names into jserv.properties, then we re-started the Apache(Jserver), but the JAR files are not loaded by server, we checked the properties file and the path of JAR files are both OK, what may cause this kind of issue?
    Currently, we are working on the Accounts Payables interface, which need to call java scripts to upload the log file to Google drive, and we need to include some Google java files in the class path, so these java files are third party's, how to config these java files under Oracle?
    Thanks,

    Hello Mike,
    It customization jar file.
    And customer wants to load this jar file to EBS apache server, so that they can use it to do some development work?
    Now, they wants to know how to load it?

  • I am unable to print only the first few lines of an e-mail. Also, it will then print in a very small type and will also include extraneous information on the screen that are not part of the e-mail. Is there anything I can do about this annoying problem?

    I can only print the first few lines of an e-mail, even when it is on "Full View" on my screen. Moreover, it prints with very small print that is hard to read and also contains additional material on the screen that is not part of the e-mail.

    I talked to Adobe Support tonight and found this issue to be a known problem with some of the Adobe Cloud products when using older hardware, in this case the C782.
    So, we found a workaround. Unfortunately the work around isn’t efficient and adds more steps to their normal printing routine
    Open InDesign and create, modify delete the card

    The issue is that WLS 6.1 didn't really support ejb-links properly. An
    ejb-link should allow you to link a webapp or an ejb to another EJB
    without requiring additional information or a global JNDI name on the
    target EJB.
    WLS 8.1 is following your ejb-link and telling you there's not enough
    information.
    You have 2 options:
    1) Remove the <ejb-link>...</ejb-link> from your web.xml. You'll be
    using just an ejb-reference at that point, but you've already included
    the necessary information in the weblogic.xml that we can locate the EJB
    via its global jndi-name
    or
    2) Change the ejb-link to be
    <ejb-link>CustomMessaginBrick.jar#CustomMessagingBrick</ejb-link>
    If you wanted to, you could then remove the reference info from the
    weblogic.xml

  • Declare external jars in the manifest in a EAR file

    Hi all,
    I'm using weblogic 7.0, I build a web service from a java class. So here is the ear file :
    - myWebservice.ear - META-INF - application.xml
    - myWebservice.ear - META-INF - MANIFEST.MF
    - myWebservice.ear - web-services.war - META-INF - MANIFEST.MF
    - myWebservice.ear - web-services.war - WEB-INF - classes - ...
    - myWebservice.ear - web-services.war - WEB-INF - web-services.xml
    - myWebservice.ear - web-services.war - WEB-INF - web.xml
    - myWebservice.ear - web-services.war - myWebserviceClient.jar
    I hope I'm clear... :)
    Actually, I would like to add in the 2nd manifest.mf something like :
    Class-Path: ../lib/myTools.jar
    myTools.jar is not in the ear file, it is just a relative path.
    Can someone tell me is it is possible ? If so, how to do so?
    I will appreciate any advice :)
    Regards.

    No, that doesn't work in J2EE 1.3.
    The typical approach would be to include the jar file within the EAR and then in the WAR file, specify a manifest class-path.
    If you were using WLS 9.x, then it would be possible to deploy the jar file separately as a library or optional package, but this is not available in 7.0

    I am not able to figure out what is going wrong here.
    Please help.

    Hi Kevin,
    Use remote EJB method calls. For details, look for "Parent application" topic in this forum or Servlet development guide in Oracle Documentation Library. I know, it does not seem to be the right source when looking for EJB documentation, however, it is.

  • EAS 9.3.1.4 service pack does not contain eas.ear

    Hello Experts,
    One of my customer has the following issue:
    Currently at version 9.3.1.0.0.135 of EAS and version 9.3.1.0.0 for Essbase. They have downloaded the EAS 9.3.1.4 Service Pack and extracted the zip file and setup.jar file but the package does not seem to contain the new eas.ear file for deployment. Initially when setting up 9.3.1 environment, they manually deployed all of the ear files to Weblogic 9 application servers as per the 9.3.1 install guide.
    The EAS 9.3.1.4 service pack readme file instructions only reference the original 9.3.1 installation guide, but since the manual deployment instructions in the original 9.3.1 install guide for original install is opted, they are now stuck with having to manually deploy upgrades and service packs manually as well.
    Do you know how we can obtain the 9.3.1.4 eas.ear file and any other associated EAS upgrade files so that they can manually deploy to WebLogic and perform the upgrade?
    Environment:
    EAS on Solaris 32 bit servers
    Any suggestions would be of greatest help.
    Regards,
    Sonal

    Hi Sonal,
    One option could be that you re-deploy AAS on Weblogic with the auto deploy instead of manual and then upgrade to AAS 9.3.1.4.This may not be the best option but something that can be done.
    Cheers

  • How to include .jars?

    Hello,
    I have been unable to find out how to include in the .ear file generated by wsgen the supporting .jar files that my Web Service EJB needs.
    I thought this could be done with the "classpath" parameter in the wsgen tag in build.xml, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
    Can someone please provide a hint?
    Thanks,
    Pere

    Hi Pete,
    You mentioned the <wsgen> Ant task, so I'm assuming that you're using WLS 6.1
    An automated way to do this, is to include a series of <exec> Ant tasks after
    the <wsgen> one. These <exec> Ant tasks would call the jar.exe and look something
    like this:
    <exec
    dir="."
    executable="jar.exe"
    failonerror="yes"
    >
    <arg line="xvf ${APPLICATIONS}/MyWS.ear myEJB.jar"/>
    </exec>
    <delete dir="myEJB-jar"/>
    <mkdir dir="myEJB-jar"/>
    <exec
    dir="myEJB-jar"
    executable="jar.exe"
    failonerror="yes"
    >
    <arg line="xvf myEJB.jar"/>
    </exec>
    <copy todir="myEJB-jar">
    <fileset dir=".">
    <include name="jar1-used-by-EJB.jar"/>
    <include name="jar2-used-by-EJB.jar"/>

    I realize this seems like a lot of steps, but they are at least automated :-)
    Note that the contents of the MANIFEST.MF that you copy in must look like this:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Ant 1.4
    Class-path: jar1-used-by-EJB.jar jar2-used-by-EJB.jar
    in order for the EJBs to find the newly included .jar files.

    Hello,
    I have been unable to find out how to include in the .ear file generated

    I thought this could be done with the "classpath" parameter in the wsgen

    Can someone please provide a hint?

  • Deploying a New Forms .ear File in Oracle Applications Release 12-FATAL ERR

    Issue appears to be resolved :)
    Here are the steps:
    vi /apps/ecrmR12apps9/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/opmn/bin/opmnctl and updated following variable to the correct path. (I am not sure why these path's were still pointing to production environment. I cross checked another cloned instance and it is also pointing to production path)
    ORACLE_HOME=/apps/ecrmR12apps9/apps/tech_st/10.1.3; export ORACLE_HOME
    TNS_ADMIN=${TNS_ADMIN="/apps/ecrmR12apps9/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/network/admin"}; export TNS_ADMIN
    Then, the issue got resolved:

  • Webcenter Portal large Site with Jar Files Deployment/Configuration

    Hi,
    I have a large WCS portal to deploy comprising of many "applications" from different groups.
    Ideally we want to deploy it as a .ear file, containing menus, templates, preferences, and some other common structures.
    We want to deliver each application as a .jar File. What is the best way to do it?
    Can we build menus pointing to a Taskflow .jar files without incorporating the .jar in the application?
    Thanks a lot,
    Joao,

    Thanks a lot Daniel for you prompt answer.
    Do you think I can use in the default-navigation-model.xml structures like
    taskflow://WEB-INF/test/testTF.xml#testTF in URL field, without adding the adf.jar to the project.
    My ideia is to deploy the lib, but do not add it to the project, in order to allow decoupled development.
    Thanks,
    Joao,

    I don't think though that _03 is the problem, you should have compatability
    between minor versions of a VM release. How did you deploy the ear?
    Did
    you copy over from a 7.0 domain? It looks like the EJB was built on
    a
    previous version of WLS, or has not had "ejbc" run on it prior to
    deployment. Try running weblogic.appc foo.ear or fooExplodedEar. And
    then
    try redeploying. To be sure everything is clean rm -rf .wldonotdelete

    you shut the server down.

    That is, how do they correspond to the ".bindings" file that is generated running imqadmin ?

    OK .. I removed imq.jar from imqjmsra.rar.
    I also updated ra.xml so that:
        <resourceadapter>
            <resourceadapter-class>
                com.sun.messaging.jms.ra.ResourceAdapter
            </resourceadapter-class>
