Incoming Payments Bill of Exchange in Foreign Currency

Hi,
I am currently in SBO 2005 SP01 PL:39; and have tried pretty much many combinations of trying to pay a AR Invoice with a foreign BP and with a bill of exchange.
i would be grateful for anyone that could shed some light over this issue, as the error I get is:
Cannot pay with bill of exchange and foreign currency - the euro being the machines local currency and US dollars the foreign currency
Regards
Vivek

Nagesh,
Thank you for your suggestion, but I have checked the multi-currency bit, and it isn't that.
The reason for this is that there has been made no way of working with foreign bill of exchange in the spanish localization for some legislation issue.
Thank you,
Vivek

    Hi,
You do down payment clearing and simulate it. You can see the entries proposed by system
If any difference in balance when you clear the account you can charge off the difference to GL accounts

  • Down payment request in foreign currency

    Xperts,
I am facing the following issue. I am entering a down payment request (F-47) in foreign currency. I am assigning a payment method in order to pay the request through the payment program F110. When the payment program pays the down payment request is doing it in local currency, I need the payment program to pay it in foreign currency, do you know how I can do that?
Else, can someone explain me the usage of field PYCUR "Currency for automatic payment"?
    Best regards.

  • Foreign Currency Clearing

    Hi all,
I post a vendor invoice in foreign currency and also make a payment of the same in foreign currency. But the system does not generate line item for foreign exchange gain/loss. The exchange rate it determines for open item clearing is the same used to book the invoice and not the one entered in the payment document header. Hence, no exchange difference gain/loss is determined. What could be possible reason for this ?
    Thanks,
    Shalin

The GL account has been set in OB09. It seems that it is not generating exc rate difference  line item because it is not determining any difference in the exchange rate. It is picking the same exchange rate as was entered in the invoice, and not which is entered in the payment document header. Why is it determining the same exchange rate which was entered at the time of invoice ?
    Thanks,
    Shalin

    Hi Rajesh,
Pls. check following in your payment program configuration.  Configuration of Payment Program can be access through APP Tcode F110.  Go to Environment --> Maintain Configuraiton.
    Check Following:
    1) Payment Method for Country : Whether Foreign currency (USD) is added in the list of permitted currency for the payment method specified in the APP Run.  If not, add USD as a permitted currency for the payment method.
    2) Payment Method for Company Code : Select Foreign Currency / Foreign Payment indicator for the company code/ payment method combination. Select all three indicator.
    3) Check the house bank configuration : Whether house bank determined for the company code/ payment method combination in ranking order is set up for any specific currency payments.  Keep teh currency field blank if you want to pay in multiple currency from the house bank determined in ranking order.
Hope this helps. Pls reward points if this is useful.

  • Electronic bank statement in Foreign Currency

    Hi,
We have set up the system so as to create a payment order when automatic payment program is run. Now, we have a scenario, where house bank is in local currency - SEK. This is used to pay the invoices in foreign currencies USD, DKK etc using automatic payment program. The electronic bank statement  we receive from the bank has transactions in different currencies. We convert this  to multicash format using DME engine, mapping the amounts in local currency to the statement and item file.
When  try to clear the invocies by importing this multicash statement, following error message is generated.
Message no. F5794 i.e. XXX  is not a payment order for currency XXX. Correction required.
Any ponters to solve the issue.
Appreciate the help in this regard!
    Thanks
    /Vartika

    Hi Narasimhulu,
    Thanks for your reply.
The thing is, payment orders are in a foreign currencies - USD , EUR etc. The clearing account is in local currency SEK. The bank statement has amounts both in order currency as well as local currency for every order. But when we are clearing using multicash, we are trying to pass the amounts in local currencies for each order. This is because,  as far as i understand, it is the currency in multicash statement file that is used for clearing . And there can be only one record in  multicash statement file. So we have to use the local currency for clearing.
    EBS:
    1  Payment order 1 - 1000 USD = 7000 SEK
    2  Payment order 2 -2000 EUR = 18000 SEK
    Multicah Statement File :
    25000 SEK
    Multicash Item File :
    Payment order 1 -   7000 SEK
    Payment order 2 -  18000 SEK
Or is there any other way of handling it ?
    Many thanks again!

  • Document Split for Currency Exchange while posting Incoming payment

    Hi Experts,
    Scenario:
    > Post incoming Customer payments using F-28
    > posting entered today (14 Jan 2009), but posting date is 30 Dec 2008)
    > Tested in Clients 001 and 005 (same setup in terms of GLs, Customers, Vendors, etc)
I was able to post the incoming payment in Client 005.  However, in Client 001, I got error message:
*Ex.rate diff.accts are incomplete for account 0000140000 (Trade Debtors/Customers) currency SGD
    Message no. F5063
    Diagnosis
The accounts for posting exchange rate differences could not be determined. For the specified G/L account and the specified currency key, the accounts are only specified incompletely. Either the accounts for the implemented exchange rate difference, the accounts for the valuation differences or the balance sheet adjustment account are missing.
    System Response
The system cannot generate the exchange rate difference posting.
    Procedure
By pressing ENTER, you achieve that the document is reset to a status without automatic posting. In another window, you can complete default settings for exchange rate differences and post the document afterwards.
    Proceed*
When I clicked Proceed, the system took me to OBA1, with "Document Split for Currency Exchange" option highlighted in blue.
Does this mean that I need to create a new GL account to post Document Split for Currency Exchange?
Note: Setup for OBA1 both 001 and 005 are the same. But I only encountered the error in 001.
    Hope someone can help me.
    Thanks...

problem solved: add relevant Open Item GLs in OBA1 (Account Determination for OI Exchange Rate Differences)

  • Issue while doing Incoming Payment & Foreign Currency Revaluation

    Hi,
When i am doing Customer Incoming Payment, we are getting one more line item Foreign Currency Revaluation with Zero amount.
    Bank A/c - Debit
    Customer A/c - Credit
Foreign Currency Revaluaiton A/c - Credit
Why Foreign Currency Revaluation Accounting is coming into the Picture? How can i remove this from settings? Please advise me..
    Thanks
    KC

    Hi,
Check Table T030H, whether for the customer reconciliation account the entry is maintained there.
Secondly, you are getting this entry because, the customer line item that you are clearing is in a currency different from your local currency.

  • Foreign currency partial payment

    Hi Experts,
I have done the following transactions.
System: ECC6 & New GL is active
    Local currency is EUR
    1. created customer invoice (F-22)
invoice amount is 1000USD (foreign currency)
    Exchange rate - 1.2
    Local amount is 1000$ * 1.2=1200EUR
    2. Created incoming partial payment (F-28)
    amount is 600USD
    Exchange rate - 1.3
    Local amount is 600 * 1.3 = 780EUR
When I simulated this partial payment there is no exchange gain/loss item.
    3. Creating incoming payment for remaining amount (F-28)
    amount is 400USD
    Exchange rate - 1.25
    Local amount is 400 * 1.25 = 500EUR
In this document, system calculates total exchange gain/loss and created respective item.
Question: on what accounting principle, system is behaving above way?
How do I carry out this example based on IFRS if this is not the way IFRS works?
    Thanks,
    Sukhbold

    Hi Sukhbold,
This is a system standered behaviors, as you are doing Partial payment clearing system is not clearing any open item here where as it creating additional line item of Dr with the new exchange rate.  So when ever you clear the rest of payment along with invoice and partial clearing documents then system will generate the exchange rate difference line item for full invoice amount.
For your understanding try with Residual clearing then you will get the Exchange rate difference line item.
    Thanks
    Sreenivas

  • Foreign Currency exchange gain & loss

    Dear expert,
I have a problem here, need help.
I have made the setting for foreign exchange gain/loss in OB09 and start to use f-28 for incoming payment.
When run the simulation, it gives me 2 lines of exchange gain/loss calculation. 1st line with amount zero (local currency) and 2nd line with the gain/loss amount.
I wonder why I have 2 lines of exchange gain/loss calculation?
Did I did something wrong or miss some specific setting?
Thanks in advance. will assign points

    Hi Louis,
Please note the example below and you will understand why two line items are created:
Local currency - USD; foreign currency - GBP
Vendor invoice in foreign currency - 100GBP - Jan (Exchange rate: I GBP=2 USD)
Feb - You valuated the open item (Exchange rate: 1 GBP = 3 USD) with update principle
Entry: Unrealised exchange rate Debit 100 USD
To Special balance sheet account Credit 100 USD
Payment made in march where the exchange rate is 1 GBP = 3.5 USD
    Entry will be:
    Vendor debit                               200 USD
Balance sheet account debit        100 USD
Realised exchange rate loss debit  50 USD
    To bank                                       350 USD
Are you getting the above entry? If so, then the above scenario will explain your predicament.
    Cheers!
    Rajesh

  • Exchange rate on Incoming Payment

    Dear Experts,
Can anyone assist with this issue?
I have created an invoice in a foreign currency (USD) with a rate of 1.485.
At the time of creating the incoming payment, the system rate had changed to 1.48. I therefore decided to change it to 1.485 after selecting the invoice to be paid so as to avoid exchange gain or loss on receipt of this transaction. This however resuledt in an error - 'No GL Account found'
    Please help!
    Regards
    John

    Hi,
Have you check what is the decimal settings for the rates under the Adminstration > System Initialization > General Setting > Display tab ?
Also, please check whether the Rounding account is defined in the G\L Determination window.
