Incomplete BPEL process
Hi,
I have a BPEL process that won't complete at runtime. The BPEL console shows no status, its like continuing. But never goes ahead. But the domain.log has a error message like "<2009-09-24 14:21:32,316> <INFO> <Sfa.collaxa.cube.engine> <CubeEngineBean::handleWorkItem> Failed to handle workitem "130014-BpInv1-BpSeq6.18-2"; the instanc
e/work item may be closed already."
Neither it throws error in the process nor completes properly? How to get this resolved. This is observed very rarely, not always.

Hi,
The DBA has done some configuration changes. Basically this can be treated as the tuning the TRANSACTION TIMEs inside the BPEL for both Sync or Async processes. Also definately increasing the server capacity will be an alternative solutions if the tuning is still not working. For more information about the transaction time management, prease refer the http://download.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa_best_practices_1013x_drop3.pdf for more details to fix this issue.

Using Java Embedding Unzip Code and a Trigger File in a BPEL Process
Hello,
Thanks in advance to anyone that contributes with any insight. It is much appreciated. Having said that I will get to the crux of my problem.
I am currently using Oracle 11g. I have created a SOA composite application that incorporates BPEL and Java. I have the code needed to unzip and extract compressed folders. However, when this was first built out using BPEL it automatically created a web service in the "exposed service" lane and not a file adapter which I believe is needed in order to trigger the process via a start.txt file for example. Based on what I know ... this web service automatically connecting to the BPEL process was simply due to the order of operations, etc. So by creating a 'read' file adapter first and then creating the BPEL process and selecting the template "Define Service Later", it does not automatcially connect the web service to the BPEL process and it will allow me to connect a file adapter to this BPEL process instead ... great. When opening up the BPEL file I then connect a recieve component to this file adapter and configure appropriately.
Essentially, my objective in setting up a trigger to start this unzip process is due to the BPEL process before that outputs or writes the .zip folder to the same directory that I want to poll and/or trigger via a start.txt file. I can get this process to work with a webservice connecting to the BPEL process and by using a Java Embedded in BPEL file, which in turns calls the package/ class that has the java code needed to unzip.
For some reason whenever I try to use a file adapter instead of the native web service that gets created (as mentioned above) it doesn't work. It seems to build or compile just fine however, I am getting errors when I try to deploy.
Note: The Java code contains all the paths where the zip file is to be taken from and extracted to. So because this is in the code I don't need the file adapter to handle this. I just want to use the file adapter so that I can trigger the process via start.txt or something of that nature.
Thanks to anyone that has any suggestions.
Kind Regards,
Kevin

Error deploying BPEL process on SOA Suite 11g
Hi,
We have installed SOA Suite 11g (Weblogic 10.3.1.0) on Windows.
I'm trying to deploy a simple BPEL Process on this SOA Suite through JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 Studio.
However I'm getting the following error:

Please let me know in case anybody has faced this issue.
Thanks,
MakrandHi, it´s a little late, but it may help to someone else.
I just got the same error on deployment and realized i was going through a proxy server, who was responding with a http 503 code to deployment request from JDeveloper. Just check your proxy settings under Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and proxy and add an exception if needed.
I also had to restart JDeveloper (a bug?) after adding the exception to correct the issue.

Pedro. -
Unable to deploy a BPEL process with rules
Hi All
I created a very simple BPEL process and defined a business Rule in composite, that I call from within my BPEL process.
I am however not able to deploy the project completely successfully.
I am using JDEV 11g to build/deploy my projects on a SOA_Suite_11g. Note that I can deploy a project successfully if it does not have a business rule.
This is what I see in the 'Deployment Log' tab:

Any ideas..
Thanks"Too many open files" issue is most likely because of a (few) Sun JDK6 bug(s). These bugs may not even get fixed in JDK6. It could hit at runtime or compile time depending on the number of jar files getting used and/or a few other variations around the use of file descriptors at a time by the JDK/JRE. One can use "lsof -p <pid>" command on Linux and see how the File Descriptors are growing when this issue is seen. E.g. use the pid of junit java process and not the main Ant java process if you want to debug at runtime. For compile time, grep on the compiler process.
Increasing the limit of file descriptors is used as a workaround.
How to increase per-process per-user file descriptor limit on your Linux hosted box:
Using "limit" (csh) or "ulimit" (bash) command find out what is the value of "descriptors". As a root user (use sudo) edit /etc/security/limits.conf file.
Close your x term and re-open (or re-connect your NX client) for this change to take effect. System re-start should not be required. If you are not able to increase the limit for some reason using these steps, try a few other things like re-starting your VNC server (or something similar), re-start your Linux box. -

Workaround the issue immediately by removing the "ns1:" qualification on the operation for the binding.jca entry in the composite.xml and redeploying.
For example:
From:
<binding.jca config="BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL_invoke_3P.jca"
operation="ns1:BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL"/>
To:
<binding.jca config="BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL_invoke_3P.jca"
operation="BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL"/>

Migrating 10g Human Task Bpel process to 11g - No task flow
Hi All,
I have migrated a bpel process that has a human task to 11g. I need to stipulate the uri so that it will show on the worklist.
Apparently there is a file in the WEB-INF folder that i must reference. I went into the folder and there is many xml files(adfc-config.xml,faces-config.xml,trindad-config.xml, web.xml, weblogic.xml) there is no file generated from the migration. Hence how do i go about to get the correct uri and for the worklist to show.
Below is an incomplete uri
/workflow/ExceptionHandlerTaskForm//faces/adf.task-flow?_id=ExceptionHandler_WF_1_TaskFlow&_document=WEB-INF/failed to get solution

Environment is : Oracle SOA 11g, Jdeveloper
please suggest something.Hi,
I checked the same still no luck. I checked approx all combination.
First I created a SOA-SAR file(jar file) , I extracted it and checked all jar files were there. orabpel.jar and bpm-services.jar and log4j jar. when i deployed that jar file. but it was not working
then I put this in weblogic sever lib. it not worked.

Simple invoking BPEL process from JSP not working
Hello Everybody,
I'm trying to invoke a BPEL process from a client JSP. I'm following the tutorial 7 Invoking the BPEL processes.
I'm trying to use the same tutorial for a different application.
Here is my WSDL snippet.
<types>
<schema attributeFormDefault="qualified"
elementFormDefault="qualified"
targetNamespace="http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006"
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
<element name="SpatialQueryRequest" type="s1:SpatialQueryRequestType"/>
<element name="SpatialQueryResponse" type="s1:SpatialQueryResponseType"/>
<complexType name="SpatialQueryRequestType">
<sequence>
<element name="username" type="string"/>
<element name="password" type="string"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
<complexType name="SpatialQueryResponseType">
<sequence>
<element name="token" type="string"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</schema>
</types>
<message name="SpatialQueryRequestMessage">
<part name="payload" element="s1:SpatialQueryRequest"/>
</message>
<message name="SpatialQueryResponseMessage">
<part name="payload" element="s1:SpatialQueryResponse"/>
</message>
<portType name="SpatialQuery">
<operation name="initiate">
<input message="tns:SpatialQueryRequestMessage"/>
</operation>
</portType>
<!-- portType implemented by the requester of SpatialQuery BPEL process
for asynchronous callback purposes
-->
<portType name="SpatialQueryCallback">
<operation name="onResult">
<input message="tns:SpatialQueryResponseMessage"/>
</operation>
</portType>
The JSP code is:
<%
String ssn = request.getParameter("ssn");
//if(ssn == null)
// ssn = "123-12-1234";
String username = "jaweed";
String password = "ibrahim";
//String xml = "<ssn xmlns=\"http://services.otn.com\">" + ssn + "</ssn>";
//String xml = "<UserName xmlns="http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006">" + username + "</UserName><Password xmlns="http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006">" + password + "</Password>";
String xml = "<UserName xmlns=\"http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006\">" + username + "</UserName><Password xmlns=\"http://www.arcwebservices.com/v2006\">" + password + "</Password>";
Locator locator = new Locator("default","bpel");
IDeliveryService deliveryService = (IDeliveryService)locator.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME );
// construct the normalized message and send to Oracle BPEL Process Manager
NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessage( );
nm.addPart("payload", xml );
NormalizedMessage res = deliveryService.request("SpatialQuery", "initiate", nm);
Map payload = res.getPayload();
//out.println( "BPELProcess CreditRatingService executed!<br>" );
out.println( "Token is " + payload.get("payload") );
%>
com.oracle.bpel.client.ServerException: IDeliveryService.request() invoked for one-way operation 'initiate'. This method can only be used to invoke two-way operations which return an output message. Please check the WSDL which defines this operation and use the method IDeliveryService.post() to invoke a one-way operation
But I'm getting an exception. I'm in deep trouble please help me. UrgentYeah ..This is my final project for my masters degree.
I'm integrating BPEL with GIS(Geographic Information System) webservices provided by ESRI(Arcweb services). My main BPEL process that I built follows this sample example. The problem is that I need to show a working client application within 2 days or else my project is termed as incomplete and my graduation will be postponed to next semester. :(
I tried your advice, as soon as I add a Java code to my BPEL process, the application is taking longer time to execute in the BPEL console itself.
<bpelx:exec xmlns:bpelx="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension" language="java" version="1.4" name="exec-1">
<![CDATA[setConversationId("output");]]>
</bpelx:exec>
So after the thread sleep the webservice is not ready to give its output.
Just a quick thought, I assumed that if I attach the output of the my Invoke(Client) to a Reply activity,which will make it a two way operation.
Then I could use,
NormalizedMessage res = deliveryService.request("SpatialQuery", "initiate", nm);
will work.
I assigned the ouput of the Invoke(Client) to the variable in Reply activity.
But my reply activity is throwing a NULL pointer exception.
This is my BPEL code:
<sequence name="main">
<receive name="receiveInput" partnerLink="client" portType="tns:InvokeTest" operation="initiate" variable="input" createInstance="yes"/>
<assign name="assign-1">
<copy>
<from variable="input" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestRequest/nsxml0:username"></from>
<to variable="IsaInput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getToken/nsxml0:username"/>
</copy>
<copy>
<from variable="input" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestRequest/nsxml0:password"></from>
<to variable="IsaInput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getToken/nsxml0:password"/>
</copy>
</assign>
<invoke name="invoke-1" partnerLink="Authentication" portType="nsxml0:IAuthentication" operation="getToken" inputVariable="IsaInput" outputVariable="IsaOutput"/>
<assign name="assign-2">
<copy>
<from variable="IsaOutput" part="parameters" query="/nsxml0:getTokenResponse/nsxml0:Result"></from>
<to variable="output" part="payload" query="/nsxml0:InvokeTestResponse/nsxml0:token"/>
</copy>
</assign>
<reply name="reply-2" partnerLink="client" portType="tns:InvokeTest" operation="initiate" variable="output"/> </sequence>
I really appreciate your patience and help. -

Suresh KHave got the same problem. Scenario at my end is little different though.
I am trying to invoke a BPEL process from an ESB Service.
I am trying to look into it..
However, would be grateful, if someone can give some insight into this since many are running into this issue without being able to fix.

could you please let me know the exact problem and provide the solution.
Thanks
Phani Ch.Hi Phani,
Are you able to reproduce issue as below:
1. Login to Application as sysadmin.
2. Navigate to Intergrated SOA Gateway > Integration Repository.
3. Click on search on right hand side of the page.
4. In the Internal Name type "FND_USER_PKG" and click Go.
5. Click on the User link.
6. Under the "Web Service - SOA Provider", click in the "View WSDL". Copy the complete URL "http://test:8003/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/fnd_user_pkg/?wsdl"
7. Open the soapUI.
8. Click File > new soapUI Project.
9. Test the web service.
If yes,
I think you might be need to execute a patch:
solution:
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Download and review the readme and pre-requisites for iAS Patch 18855074.
Note: Above Merge Label Request (MLR) is build for EBS 12.1.3 having OC4J 10.1.3.5.
2. Enable the profile option "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled".
a. Login as SYSADMIN user and Navigate to System >Profile and Search for "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled" (Internal name :EBS_ADAPTER_FUNCTION_SEC_ENABLED)
b. Set the Value to 'Y' at SITE level . This means function security feature is enabled and all API calls for PL/SQL APIs, Oracle e-Commerce Gateway, and concurrent programs will be checked for user security before they are invoked.
3. Retest the issue by Generating and Deploying the required package.
4. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.
Thanks

Error while invoking ESB process from a BPEL process
Hi all
We have a requirement to call an ESB process from a BPEL process. We are using an adapter wth the ESB's WSDL url. After deploying the BPEL process, the registered ESB is getting called for most values while suddenly some values return the followign error
*"exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection reset"*
The catch here is, if we re-run the process with the same values again, the ESB is called successfully! How is it possible for a process to error out and run normally for the same inputs ?
What could be the possible fix for this? I am thankful for any inputs on this.
VijayHi Vijay,
This is a bug and you can refer the metalink note:
"Applying Patch 7445876 Results in Error "java.lang.NullPointerException". [ID 942575.1]" for reference.
Also you can refer the following link:
"http://puchaanirudh.blogspot.com/2008/12/exception-on-jaxrpc-invoke-http.html" also.
Thanks,
Vishwanath. -
RequestTimeoutException error while invoking a BPEL process using RMI
Hi,
I am getting RequestTimeoutException error while invoking a BPEL process using this code:
Locator locator = LocatorFactory.createLocator(jndiProps);
String compositeDN = "default/"+processName+"!1.0";
Composite composite = locator.lookupComposite(compositeDN);
String serviceName = "client";
Service deliveryService = composite.getService(serviceName);
NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessageImpl();
nm.getPayload().put("payload", requestXml);
NormalizedMessage res = deliveryService.request("process", nm);
responseMap = res.getPayload();

To add to it the BPEL process is executing successfuly and RMI call timeout is happening.
Can I know how to increase the related timeout value?Have got the same problem. Scenario at my end is little different though.
I am trying to invoke a BPEL process from an ESB Service.
I am trying to look into it..
However, would be grateful, if someone can give some insight into this since many are running into this issue without being able to fix.

Error while invoking a public PL/SQL API in EBIZ from Sync BPEL process
Hi,
SOA Suite: 11.1.1.3
I am getting the following error when I am invoking a public API in EBIZ from Oracle via a BPEL process. I am supplying the username/password via binding properties (as mentioned in other posts). Can someone point out that is the exact cause for this error please?

DineshHi James,
Thanks for the quick reply.
We've tried to call that web service from an HTML designed in Visual Studios with the same username and password and its working fine.
But on the BPEL console, we are getting the error as mentioned.
Also if you can tell me how to set the user name and password in the header of the parter link.I could not find how to do it.
Thanks,
