Inconsistent results while searching with TREX

Hi all, iam getting inconsistent results for the same search terms. iam searching for content in a document.one user has read permission on this document and other doesn't. if search using user without read access no results are displayed. i logged in as a user who has read permission in a different window. search for the same content displays the document. and now if i search for the same content for the user who don't have read permission it's displaying the document. ideally it should not display. it would be very helpful if somebody can point what is the problem. thanks in advance.

kranthi

Hi Kranthi,
could this be a browser caching or credentials per browser session issue?
- Do you open the new Window with Ctrl-N?
- Or do you start a completely new browser (click browser icon a second time)? Does it still happen in that case?
- Does it also happen, if you completely close the browser in between and then re-open?
- Does it still happen, if you delete the temporary internet files in between? And/or the cookies?

Karsten

• Transaction for KM Content Search with TRex

Hi all
I installed TRex and I connected it to our Solution Manager system. I created an Index over my KM Content. Everything worked well.
I have a simple question: How do I search content in the Solution Manager KM? Which transaction offers my the full-text search?
I suppose the answer is very easy...unfortunately I was not able to find any information about this (shame on me!).
Thanks in advance and regards
Marco

Solution was very easy...
Go to solar01 or solar02 then click on Find document. In the pop-up click on 'Extended Attribute Selection' at the top. After that you find "Full Text Search" at the bottom of the page.

• XPath result while evaluating with XPathConstants.BOOLEAN

I am trying to get the value of a boolean attribute but I am getting the wrong result when I try using XPathConstants.BOOLEAN.
When I use XPathConstants.STRING I do get the correct value.
The following code:
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
String xml = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" ?>" +
"<root check=\"false\" />";
InputSource inputSource = new InputSource(new StringReader(xml));
Document document = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder().parse(inputSource);
XPath xPath = XPathFactory.newInstance().newXPath();
System.out.println("check as string: " + xPath.evaluate("root/@check", document, XPathConstants.STRING));
System.out.println("check as boolean: " + xPath.evaluate("root/@check", document, XPathConstants.BOOLEAN));
}Has the following output:
check as string: false
check as boolean: true
Please explain.

I'm guessing (because I can't find any specific documentation on what that constant means) that it evaluates the XPath expression and then coerces it to a boolean value. I'm also guessing that it uses the XPath boolean() function to do that. And you can read about what the boolean() function does here: [http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath#section-Boolean-Functions]

• Recruiting problem with the candidate search by trex with questionnaires

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to search candidates using trex in recruiting by candidate_questionnaires but the trex does not show any result. How can I solve it?
When candidates register theirselves on internet, they complete questionnaires that I have added in the apllication wizard.
But the problem starts when I want to search candidates by the answers that they have complete in this questionnaire. So I select the criteria search candidate questionnaire, then I select the questionnaire and then the answer and I run the searh. I know that the results shown are always about others requisitions and not the one that I am doing the search. But in my case candidates are assigned in other requisition with the same process template so I do not know where is the problem, because other sort of search works fine. This is the only one that it does not work.
In addition, I have run the report RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS but the result is that all the parameters are fine except that I have not implement the badi HRAHAP00_FOLLOW_UP_SES. May I have to implement?
Moreover I have seen that when I select the answer to search, any operator (element of selection mask) is assigned but I have read that it is correct because I am using the search profile "int_cand" with the category "candidate_document" that it use in the mask search candidate_questionnaire.
In conclusion, I don't know how I can solve this problem with trex? Any idea?
Thanks in advance,
Juanjo Garcin.

I've already done it.
Do you think this will help?
I doubt that Apple will listen to us. Users with a problem that occurs quite a lot.

• Inconsistent results with localtimestamp and current_timestamp

TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
I'm getting incorrect and inconsistent results with current_timestamp and localtimestamp:
With SQL, localtimestamp computes the wrong offset (appears to use 1987-2006 DST rules):
select

17-MAR-10 09.27.17.376000000 AM
however, in PL/SQL, both current_timestamp and localtimestamp return the wrong hour value, and adding 18 to current_timestamp shows it is using 1987-2006 DST rules (1st sunday of april)/ note that this happens in straight PL/SQL and in embedded SQL (same results selecting from tables other than DUAL):

is this a known bug?
is there a patch or a work-around for XE?
are other datasbase versions affected?

Can't patch XE, unfortunately it comes with pre-2007 DST rules.
There is a metalink note describing how to fix the DST changes, and while it's not really a "supported" method, neither is XE- if you can get updated timezone files from a later patch set for the same release, 10gR2, on the right operating system, shutdown/startup the database the updated DST rules will be in place. The timezone files are in $ORACLE_HOME/oracore/zoneinfo.
Another unfortunately, any values already stored in the database using timestamp with local timezone datatypes for the affected period of the DST changes won't be correct, i.e. there is no 2010-03-14 02:01 (?) but with older timezone rules in place that would be a valid timestamp. The data has to be saved before updating the timezone file, and re-translated to timestamp w/local tz datatypes after the update.
IMHO storing literal timezone info isn't an ideal practice, let the client settings do the time interpretation, time is always changing. Its the interpretation of the time that gets changed. From time to time. :(

• Help! Search with no results

The problem I'm having is that users are in different domains in the company I'm working in. If the searched user is in the same domain (e.g. DC=B, DC=A) of the administrator, it returns exact one record. However, if the user is under the sub-domain (i.e. DC=C, DC=B, DC=A), and I've set the search control to scope to sub-tree, the searching returns no records. Does anybody know how to solve this?
Here is the snippet of my code:
public String getDN(String userid) {
String dn = "CN=admin,OU=Sharing Account,DC=ABC,Dc=com,DC=tw";
String ldap_url = "ldap://f1soa02.cmo.com.tw:389";
String password = "xxxx";
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
env.put("java.naming.ldap.version", "3");
env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, ldap_url);
env.put(Context.SECURITY_AUTHENTICATION, "simple");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, dn);
env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
DirContext ctx;
String[] attrs = { "cn" };
try {
ctx = new InitialDirContext(env);
SearchControls ctls = new SearchControls();
ctls.setSearchScope(SearchControls.SUBTREE_SCOPE);
ctls.setReturningAttributes(attrs);
String filter = "(CN=" + userid + ")";
// Search for objects with these matching attributes
NamingEnumeration results = ctx.search("DC=cmo,Dc=com,DC=tw",filter,ctls);
if ( results != null && results.hasMoreElements()) {
SearchResult sr = (SearchResult)results.nextElement();
dn = sr.getName();
} else dn = null;
ctx.close();
} catch (AuthenticationException e){
System.out.println(" getDN() Authentication Exception: " + e);
return null;
} catch (NamingException e) {
System.out.println(" getDN() Naming Exception: " + e);
return null;
return dn;
public static void main(String[] args) {
UserAuthenticate ua = new UserAuthenticate();
//boolean valid = ua.ldapAuthenticate("joy_huang", "babula52395239");
boolean valid = ua.ldapAuthenticate("karen_fang", "karenf12");
if (valid)
System.out.println("Valid User");
else
System.out.println("Invalid User");
}

1). Can't get connected to Global Catalog port 3268. Does this mean that I have to get the permission from the administrator to connect to that port?
No.
Not all domain controllers host a global catalog. If a DC is not listening on port 3268 (or 3269 over SSL) then it is not hosting a GC.
You can find both GC's & DC's through DNS. For example if using the DnsContextFactory, you can find a GC using the DNS Query result:String strService = "_gc._tcp";
String strQuery[]={"SRV"};
Attributes dnsQueryresult = dnsContext.getAttributes(strService,strQuery);For completeness, the query should also take into consideration sites (IP subnets), so you return a DC or GC closest to your server. You may want to look at the Win32 API DSGetDCName and provide similar functionality in your app.
(Refer to http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/ad/ad/dsgetdcname.asp)
If you are able to connect to port 3268 (the GC) but do not return any results, then the ACL's may not give you permission to view the objects or their attributes.
2). How to find out the returning attributes? Our server seems do not have the attributes listed in the sample...
IIRC, the attributes I have listed are included in the Partial Attribute Set (PAS), which is the term used to describe which attributes are included in the GC.
Details on the default attributes contained in the GC can be found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/adschema/adschema/attributes_global.asp
Note that the GC abides by the exact same security controls as a DC, so if your user does not have access to the objects and their attributes in a domain, it won't have access to them in a GC.
If you want to return all available attributes, just specify null for the returned attributes.SearchControls searchCtls = new SearchControls();
String returnedAttributes[] = null;
searchCtls.setReturningAttributes(returnedAttributes);
...and to list out a returned attribute's name, use the getID method.
3). Can't have empty base DN when searching? Why? Is that system limitation?
AFAIHI (As far as I have interpreted) the LDAP RFC states that an empty BaseDN is used when querying RootDSE. It is does not state what the behaviour should be otherwise. (In RFC 2251 the search base is defined as a LDAP Distinguished Name, which in turn is defined as a LDAP String, which is finally defined as an Octet String. Doesn't specify what should happen with a null value)
From an Active Directiory perspective, for an LDAP search, you must supply a valid base distinguished name. For a Global Catalog search, the base distinguished name can be any value, including the value "NULL" (" ").
If you use a NULL base distinguished name with a scope of one level or subtree and specify port 389 (the default LDAP port), the search fails, whereas if you use a NULL base distinguished name with a scope of object level and specify port 389, it will return the RootDSE.

• Inconsistent results with MDX formula

Hi. I'm converting a BSO cube to ASO, and it has dynamically calculated formulas that I'm converting to MDX. I have a formula that is supposed to accumulate an account (Order Intake) through the months and years until it gets to the current month of the current year (set by substitution variables) and then just carries that balance forward until the end.
This is the formula I wrote in MDX.
IIF( Count( Intersect( {MemberRange([Years].[FY95], [&Auto_CurYr].Lag(1))}, {Years.CurrentMember} ) ) = 1,
IIF(CurrentMember ([Period]) = [Jan],
[Order Intake] + ([Contract Value],[Adj],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember),
[Order Intake] + ([Contract Value],[Period].CurrentMember.PrevMember)
IIF( CurrentMember ([Years]) = [&Auto_CurYr],
IIF( CurrentMember ([Period]) = [Jan],
[Order Intake] + ([Contract Value],[Adj],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember),
IIF( Count( Intersect( {MemberRange([Period].[Feb], [&Auto_CurMoNext_01].Lag(1))}, {Period.CurrentMember} ) ) = 1,
[Order Intake] + ([Contract Value],[Period].CurrentMember.PrevMember),
([Contract Value],[Period].CurrentMember.PrevMember)
([Contract Value],[Adj],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember) /*This is the statement that evaluates for months and years after the current month and year*/
The inconsistent results are as follows:
I have a spreadsheet that has the years and months across the top in columns. The substitution variables are set to FY09 for the year and Oct for the month. The formula works fine until it gets to Jan of FY10, at which point it produces a number out of thin air, and carries that incorrect number through to the end.
When I put the years and months into my rows, however, and then drill down on the months, I get different results. Not only different, but different results at different times, too. When I first drilled, all results were correct. Now when I drill, it produces a random number in October of FY09 (not entirely random, but actually double what it's supposed to be), then #missing in Nov of FY09, then the correct number thereafter. Same exact data intersection on both spreadsheets, different results. I've retrieved over and over again, and the only time it might change is if I re-drill. I've used both Essbase Add-in and Smart View with consistently inconsistent results.
Has anyone ever encountered this sort of behavior with an MDX formula?

Well, I finally got a formula that works. I did end up using a combination of CASE and IIF, but I never did figure out how to deal with summing up ranges of data correctly, accounting for changing substitution variables, so I had to do a lot of hard coding by month. For instance, I couldn't ask it to sum([Order Intake],[Jan],[&Auto_CurYr]:([Order Intake],[&Auto_CurMo],[&Auto_CurYr]). Although it validated fine, when I tried to retrieve it said members were not of the same generation, presumably because my substitution variable could potentially be a non - level 0 month (it worked if I hard coded the end month). Also, I really don't like the MDX version of @LSIBLINGS and @RSIBLINGS.
But this works.
CASE
When Count( Intersect( {MemberRange([Years].[FY95], [&Auto_CurYr].Lag(1))}, {Years.CurrentMember} ) ) = 1
THEN IIF(CurrentMember ([Period]) = [Jan],
[Order Intake] + sum(([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[FY95]):([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember)),
IIF(CurrentMember ([Period]) = [Feb],
Sum(CrossJoin({[Order Intake]}, {[Jan]:[Feb]})) + sum(([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[FY95]):([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember)),
IIF(CurrentMember ([Period]) = [Mar],
Sum(CrossJoin({[Order Intake]}, {[Jan]:[Mar]})) + sum(([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[FY95]):([Order Intake],[YearTotal],[Years].CurrentMember.PrevMember)),

• Inconsistent results with ANSI LEFT JOIN on 9iR2

Is this a known issue? Is it solved in 10g?
With the following data setup, I get inconsistent results. It seems to be linked to the combination of using LEFT JOIN with the NULL comparison within the JOIN.
create table titles (title_id int, title varchar(50));
insert into titles values (1, 'Red Book');
insert into titles values (2, 'Yellow Book');
insert into titles values (3, 'Blue Book');
insert into titles values (4, 'Orange Book');
create table sales (stor_id int, title_id int, qty int, email varchar(60));
insert into sales values (1, 1, 1, '[email protected]'));
insert into sales values (1, 2, 1, '[email protected]');
insert into sales values (3, 3, 4, null);
insert into sales values (3, 4, 5, '[email protected]');
SQL> SELECT titles.title_id, title, qty
2 FROM titles LEFT OUTER JOIN sales
3 ON titles.title_id = sales.title_id
4 AND stor_id = 3
5 AND sales.email is not null
6 ;
TITLE_ID TITLE QTY
4 Orange Book 5
3 Blue Book
1 Red Book
2 Yellow Book
SQL>
SQL> SELECT titles.title_id, title, qty
2 FROM titles LEFT OUTER JOIN sales
3 ON titles.title_id = sales.title_id
4 AND 3 = stor_id
5 AND sales.email is not null;
TITLE_ID TITLE QTY
2 Yellow Book 1
4 Orange Book 5
3 Blue Book
1 Red Book
It seems to matter what order I specify the operands stor_id = 3, or 3 = stor_id.
In the older (+) environment, I would understand this, but here? I'm pretty sure most other databases don't care about the order.
thanks for your insight
Kevin

• Inconsistent results using the "places" view on the iPad with geotagged photos

I am getting inconsistent results with geotagged photos on the iPad (both 1 and 2) OS 5.01. It seems that sometime photos will show up in the correct location on the places view others will not ( they will not show up at all). In fact I can have a geotagged photo in one folder, synch with iTunes and it will not show up in the places view and then move that same picture to a different folder (which becomes an album on the iPad) re-synch and it will now show up at the correct location in the places view. All photos show up in the album view. Everything is the latest version iTunes, iPad etc. I can also have many photos geotagged exactly to the same location (exact same coordinates) some will show up, others will not.
I have used different methods to geotag my photos. At first I was using Photoshop Elements 8 until they stopped supporting geotagging photos. Now I am using a third party application GeoSetter (excellent free application). The GPS data is clearly in the Exif data but the results are not consistent.
Any ideas?

I believe I have solved this problem myself and thought others might benefit from what I found. It turns out to be what I believe as a glitch in iTunes. iTunes creates a cache of all the photos that you synch with your iPad, iPhone etc. Apparently it does not update that cache when you change the photo. At least not the Geotagging data. The file modify date was changing but that wasn't enough to cause iTunes to update the cache of the photos. I deleted the cache of all the photos and re-synched and presto now all my photos where showing up at the correct location in the iPad "places" view.
I might add that I called Apple tech support and was routed to a higher tier support person and was very disappointed with his response. He basically told me that the "place" view in the iPad and iPhone was designed to be only used with an Apple computer and Apple software and was surprised the places view was working at all with pictures synched with a Windows based machine. He also said he was unable to help me since he couldn't provide support for non-Apple products. Although I understand this to a point I think he was too quick to make this decision. The solution after all was a simple one and one I think he should have known. I would think this cache problem would happen whether I was using Apple products as well. I view this as a bug in iTunes. Apple needs to compare the modified date of the file and update the cache if it has changed.

• Empty results while importing outlook contact list with PHP

Hello. Could you help me with such problem:
I'm always receiving an empty result while importing contact list from my outlook mail account.
I've had successfully created live app (https://account.live.com/developers/applications). I'm using REST api (https://apis.live.net/v5.0/me/contacts?&access_token=" . $access_token) and successfully received "access_token". But in the end
I receive empty result in such form:
{ ["data"]=> array(0) { } ["paging"]=> array(0) { } } (certainly, I have few contacts in my outlook contact list)

Desktop Manager is not contact manager. Restore it from Backup to a HH and then sync it with contacts in Outlook at home for example. Extract contacts to PST file. Import those to new company outlook contacts and they will sync over the air with handheld.

• CV04N: Is it possible to JOIN TREX fulltext search with other data ?

Dear DMS gurus.
...in CV04N.
Is it possible to JOIN a TREX fulltext search with other data (e.g. document data, classification characteristics, object links,...) ?

Dear Erik
Thanks for the good piece of Information you have shared.
Regarding the OSS note 1332745 it clearly says that
"SAP PLM Consulting integrated the TREX technology into the central search components of SAP DMS.
Searchable content:
- Main DMS attributes (e.g. document number, status or descriptions)
- Long texts
- Classification Data
- Originals (e.g. full text search on PDF, Excel or Word documents)
- Customer-specific content (e.g. append fields of DRAW, own tables, ...)"
In Think you should check this link

• How to search/filter HR documents with TREX

Hi,
We have installed TREX 7.0
I need to use it with HR docs
We must find for exemple :
how to receive the list of HR contracts signed since last week ( possibility to filter via a document type ? )
how to have all the documents linked to a personnal ID
how to search and filter text in scanned HR documents stored in a content server
I did not find documentation telling how to manage HR documents with TREX
I have only tried SES but it is not useful for what I need.
Could you please tell me if TREX can be used for this task ? Can you give me some link for HR document management on TREX ?
Best regards
Franck

• The following error occured while searching for on-premises exchange server

I've previously posted this under the Exchange Forums - Exchange Server 2010
I look after a company where I installed a new DELL server last year, The server is running Windows Small Business Server 2011 which we installed. Exchange 2010 was installed as part of the Windows Small Business Server 2011 installation. At the time we
did not configure Exchange because they use external POP accounts for email. Eventually they wanted to move over to Exchange
When we created the user accounts using Windows SBS Console, it created a local mailbox for each user
No problems - [email protected]
Since late last year every time I create a new user within SBS Console, it errors creating the mailbox
Add a user account and assign a user role
Getting "Unexpected error occurred" when Setting up an e-mail account for user
Looking at the error "Unexpected error occurred" & MessagingManagement "Unexpected error occured"
The user account is created ok just no e-mail address is created for the user
I never thought much about this at the time as we weren't using Exchange email accounts. I decided to have a look at this issue over weekend
When I try to open Microsoft Exchange Management Console I'm getting "Initialization failed"
The following error occurred when searching for the On-Premises Exchange server
When I try to open Microsoft Exchange Management Shell, I get a similar error
I've download & run EMTShooter which just identifies there is an error & gives me the same error
I've installed & re-installed WinRM IIS Extensions
I've checked all the settings in IIS, Default Web Site, PowerShell, Modules & Paths...
Still cannot connect to Exchange
I've trawled through the internet for two days checking & testing every solution but no luck
I've checked every setting against another Windows SBS 2011 Server we've installed & works
I cannot find a difference
Can someone help me or point me in the right direction?
Peter Ralphs

Thanks for the reply Larry
I've added more detail about the error, this server is exactly how I initially installed it. This was a clean install not a migration so Exchange was a new installation. I have not applied any service packs as I did not want to confuse matters
or compound the issue. I was wondering whether to install Server 2008 Service Pack 1 & the Exchange Service Packs. I will check the event logs & report back with what I find.
Here's the original error I was getting when opening Exchange Management Console
Initialization failed
The following error ocurred while searching for the on-premises Exchange server:
[server.myd.local] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid.
For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. It was running the command 'Discover-ExchangeServer -UseWIA $true -SuppressError $true -CurrentVersion 'Version 14.1 (Build 218.15)
I got similar error when trying to access the Exchange Management Shell
VERBOSE: Connecting to SERVER.myd.local
[server.myd.local] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client cannot process the request. It cannot determine the content type of the HTTP response from the destination computer. The content type is absent or invalid.

+ CategoryInfo : OpenError: (System.Manageme....RemoteRunspace:RemoteRunspace) [],
PSRemotingTransportException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : PSSessionOpenFailed
When I opened the Exchange Management Console this week, the error had changed slightly
Initialization failed
The following error ocurred while searching for the on-premises Exchange server:
[server.myd.local] Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message : The WinRM client received an HTTP server error status (500), but the remote service did not include any other information about the cause of the failure. For more information,
see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic. It was running the command 'Discover-ExchangeServer -UseWIA $true -SuppressError $true -CurrentVersion 'Version 14.1 (Build 218.15)
I could only run Exbpa from a command prompt (obviously no access from Exchange Management Console)

Disk timeout changed
Disk timeout on server SERVER.myd.local is not set at the default of 10 seconds. This is normal if third-party storage software is installed. Current timeout value is 160 seconds.
Client RPC binding found
The 'Rpc_Binding_Order' is set on server SERVER.myd.local. It is possible that either the Exchange or Outlook client is installed on the server. Current registry value: ncalrpc,ncacn_ip_tcp.
One thing I've noticed from the start is that the error occurs when it is "searching" for the Exchange Server, it then goes on to name the server [server.myd.local] it knows it's there but cannot access it ?
Another thing I've noticed is that it always refers to the "remote server" this server is Windows SBS 2011, it's the Domain Controller, DHCP Server, DNS Server & Exchange Server all in the same box
I also noticed that the Health Check stated that "The default public folder database is remote"
Has this something to do with it ?

• Using SharePoint OOTB search with external DB

Hi All,
I am using SharePoint OOTB search to search for documents inside a document library. The document library has all the data except for two cases:
1- Value stored in SharePoint document library as ID but the actual name is in an external DB (example: Document 100 has an organization code 7200, the list of all organizations is in an external DB)
2- A look-up that exists in another SharePoint list with IDs only (example: a document 100 can belong to project 55, 66, 77). DocProject list that describes the 1:M relation is in the SharePoint list, however the project information for project 55, 66, and
77 are in an external DB.
When the user tries to search for a document by project or organization name, an external database should be involved to get the correct documents that fall under the search criteria.
Can you please advice me on how can this be implemented? What are the options that I have?
Many thanks

Hi Ashish,
Thanks a lot for the prompt reply and wish you a pleasant year.
Unfortunately this scenario is not working in our case!
In fact we have no problem at all if we added a new field to a list and configured it as a lookup field to an existing SharePoint list and then migrated its data and started to search by lookup name instead of ID.
Our problem still exists as we fail to repeat the same scenario with a list that exists in an external database and was shown in SharePoint using Business Data Catalog. Whenever the lookup list is an external DB list, we can not use the name instead of the
ID in search (even after we migrate the data, mark the field as a lookup field, and run full crawler)
We also searched the re-index feature but found that it is a feature in SharePoint 2013 while our version is SharePoint 2010.
Kindly advice as I am afraid we are missing a step or a certain configuration that makes SharePoint behavior different with BDC lists. Here are the detailed steps that I followed:
1- From Central Admin, Add BDC service to SahrePoint
2- Create a .net solution (SharePoint features BDC) that uses a web service that calls an Oracle stored procedure to get the data (full list) or (single Item) and maps them to BDC.readlist and BDC.readitem
3-Deploy the custom BDC solution to SharePoint
4- From SharePoint designer, create external content type that uses the custom BDC solution
5- In the created external content type, added two operations (New Read Item Operation) and (New Read list operation).
6- Create external list from the external content type
7- Add new column to the original list as a look up column with the property (Get Information from) set to the external list
8- Migrate data to the newly added column using SharePoint object model
9- Run full crawler job
10- Try the search, when searching by ID we get results, when searching by name, we get NO results!
Many thanks,
