Phone is stuck in recovery mode i bought offline and it was jailbroken and i didnt want it to be so i tried restoring it
when i tried to restore it, it said error occured and went back to iphone is in recovery mode. please help
Get your money back, if you can. Buy a proper one from Apple or for $200 using a 2-year contract through a carrier like ATT.
The best advice we can give on jailbroken devices is what you are trying -- restore.
But it my be unrestorable.

I've been lazy about updating my phone. I plugged it into my computer tonight, the prompt came up and I absentmindedly clicked OK, you get the picture. They should have been part of the backup. If you have already restored from the backup and they are not present on the phone, then they are gone. If you have not yet attempted to restore, just restore already... you don't have any other choice. Debating whether something will be there or not is pointless. It will, or it won't. discussing it won't change that.

I would say yes. I once had the same problem (iPhone 5, IOS 7) and first restored to factory settings and after that from iCloud backup.

Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error. -

No, it is my phone that I've had since 2009. I just hate updating it because every time I do something goes wrong. So I put it off as long as possible. I am getting a new iphone, but I read that to have your backup transfer to the new phone, it must be a backup from the current ios.

Can anyone help me with my phone being stuck in recovery mode? I have looked all over the internet and have had no success. if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.
