Incorporating iWeb's blog page into another site

Hello all,
I have a site hosted by go daddy.
Is there a way to incorporate the blogging function (or any page for that matter) of iWeb as a page in the site?
I find Word Press just too complicated when it comes to editing the look of it.
thanks,
Al

Paste this code in a HTML Snippet. It will add a menu item to the navagation bar :
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!--
theNavUL = parent.document.getElementById("widget0-navbar-list");
TheLi = parent.document.createElement("li")
TheLi.innerHTML = "<a href='Tuinproject.html'>More</a>";
TheLi.className = "noncurrent-page";
theNavUL.appendChild(TheLi);
TheLi = parent.document.createElement("li")
TheLi.innerHTML = "<a href='/'>Home</a>";
TheLi.className = "noncurrent-page";
theNavUL.appendChild(TheLi);
clearInterval(chkNavLink);
// -->
</script>
You can see it here :

(The 2 menu items on the right)

  • How to merge blog pages into one?

    I used iWeb and created three sites within one Domain file; each of these sites has its own blog page.
    But I haven't touched it for quite some time and would like to pick it up again. I'm at a point where I would like to simplify things: only to have one site and one blog and...
    How do I, or is there a way to, merge these blog pages into one? Consolidating these posts and comments into one single blog page?
    Your advice would be very much appreciated. (At present I'm so torn between picking up using iWeb or just start with blogger.com; the ability to preserve these messages would be key to the decision.)
    Thank you.

    You can either use <PageOverlay> to overlay the Header PDF page onto the PDF with the Body, or you could turn the Header PDF page into a <Header> DDX element. It depends on the page size of the Header PDF.
    Please be aware that if you use <Header>, the default margins for positioning the header are 1/2 inch all around. You can set this to 0 or whatever you want using the <PageMargins> element.
    An example of using PageOverlay:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <DDX xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/DDX/1.0/" >
    <PDF result="result1">
    <PDF source="PDF2"/>
    <PageOverlay>
    <PDF source="PDF1"/>
    </PageOverlay>
    </PDF>
    <PDF result="result2">
    <PDF source="PDF3"/>
    <PageOverlay>
    <PDF source="PDF1"/>
    </PageOverlay>
    </PDF>
    </DDX>

  • Term-Driven Page with Friendly URL doesn't work with a page in another Site Collection

    Hi all,
    It appears that the Term-Driven Page with Friendly URL does not work when it is referencing a page in another Site Collection. When I set my Managed Navigation to use a term that points to another Site Collection page, the link shows in my navigation, but
    gives the error:
    "Sorry, something went wrong"
    This does not happen if I link to a page in the same site.
    Kelly
    Personal Blog: http://thebitsthatbyte.com

    i got similiar (i am not sure whether the same) issue recently:
    I have a site collection (address http://spserver/) which use managed navigation, and term-driven page with friendly url. The address of the term-driven page is set as /pages/teamsitehome.aspx . A friendly url takes the form such as http://spserver/menulevel1/submenu1
    I create a new site collection http://spserver/sites/newsitecollection and i want it to have the same navigation menu as the other site collection. Since i cannot use the same termset for the two site collection, i have to create a new term set
    for the new site collection, "pin term with chidrem" or "reuse term" to the old term set. The friendly url in newly created site collection and term set takes the form such as http://spserver/sites/newsitecollection/menulevel1/submenu1, and still
    points to /pages/teamsitehome.aspx. Notice that the term-driven page here in the new site collection still points to the old site collection.
    Actually, it works! I mean, when i click the navigation menu, friendly url http://spserver/sites/newsitecollection/menulevel1/submenu1 appears in the browser address. And SharePoint knows to load /pages/teamsitehome.aspx for this url. If this is a simple
    blank page, it just open fine here.
    However, my custom page teamsitehome.aspx calls TaxonomyNavigationContext.Current.NavigationTerm in its page load event, it should returns a valid NavigationTerm for the friendly url. But it returns null here. I traced the code to find that it calles
    internal static NavigationTerm GetNavigationTermFromTargetUrlGuids(SPWeb contextWeb, Guid termStoreId, Guid termSetId, Guid termId, bool includeInheritedSettings, bool enableExclusions)
    The passed in contextWeb points to http://spserver/ , since the term-driven page is in this web. But the termSetId points to the new termset. TermId won't be problem, since its the same in both new and old term set for pinned term. The combination of contextWeb
    and termSetId just make the output NavigationTerm null. I think its simply because the termset is not associated with this spweb.
    My workaround is create a copy of /pages/teamsitehome.aspx in new site collection. The term-driven page address is set to ~sitecollection/pages/teamsitehome.aspx in term management. This time, all works. Just because the contextWeb parameter i mentioned
    above now points to the root web at new site collection, where the term driven page resides.

  • Embed video into another site??

    I have just finished creating a website in iweb, and published it to a folder. I am clueless when it come to html or web coding. So my question is, is there any way I can get an embed code to post my video from my site into another site?

    The only way I've found to link to a movie file I've used in a site is to use the following URL:
    http://web.me.com/MMeAccount_Name/Site_Name/Media/movie_filename.mov
    That will link directly to the movie file.

  • Is there a way to embed a business catalyst ecommerce site into another site?

    If I build an ecommerce site in business catalyst, can I embed it into another site? For example if I already have a public site (using Adobe CQ), can I embed a Business Catalyst site into my Adobe CQ webpage to function as the ecommerce portion of my Adobe CQ site?  Would the API allow for this? Thanks in advance.

    Yes you could do it with the API, but it would an epic programming adventure to get it going, as far I know no one else is doing it. It would be extremely slow to use the API in realtime (ie get the contents from the API every page request as the API is slow and times out certain parts of the day sometimes) so you would have to sync your data between the sites. You would also have to work out shipping externally because you can't get any sort of shipping information from the API (as far as I know)
    An easier way would be to setup a reverse proxy to your BC site, the only issue with that is that when you start to hit HTTPs pages on checkout you wont be able to proxy them (securely) unless you get your own certificate for the site you are proxying from. I have done this for other sites before but not BC, in theory it should work because BC allows any domain and they shouldn't be any sort of domain / RDNS security checks.

  • Acrobat X Pro makes text disappear from a page when I insert that page into another PDF

    I printed a single page Microsoft Project schedule to PDF using Acrobat X Pro.  All good.  I then inserted that one page into another PDF document using Tools/Insert Pages/Insert from File.  Much of the text in the inserted page goes missing after inserting that page into the other PDF document.  How do I prevent this disappearing text problem?

    Does the inserted page have a lot of markup? I do not think the markup will insert.

  • Insert one html page into another html page

    Hi there,
    I wonder if sombody can help. I am trying to insert one short
    html page into another page. I could not find any option or feature
    in Dreamweaver that allow me to insert the page at all. The page I
    want to insert has the links and it is a short page, just like a
    banner. When I update the links on that page it will update all
    other pages in the website. I do not have to open many pages to
    update. I have been using FrontPage and I am now converting to
    Dreamweaver. Some codes from FrontPage does not work in
    Dreamweaver. I would very much appreciate if somebody can help with
    the codes.
    This is my website so that you can understand what I mean. At
    the top of the screen there are many links that are from one page I
    inserted into index.html. I use FrontPage. But, Dearmweaver does
    not work that way.
    Thank you. Kevin

    Ive tried using <jsp:useBean id="Page2" scope="page" class="visualwebapplication.Page2" > .. It does not give me an error, but does not embed the page as well. Do I need to some other code after this to use the above bean to display the page.

  • IWeb 08:  Blog page and Archive

    I set up a new Blog. The first COMMENT (entered on the Comment page) shows on the Blog page. (it I had set it to show 4 comments) All other comments are on Comment page, but do not show on Blog page. Also, I do not understand how to get any of the Comments (now 10 of them) onto the Archive page.
    Please help..

    I am not sure what you mean "use report this post & ask that it gets moved,".How do I do this?
    Sure bottom right of each post, every post has that link in the bottom right corner...
    there is no "New Posting" mention when I go to the iWeb page
    Right, I wish Apple would make it easier, but try this...
    From here...

    Select one of the two catagories/forums, I chose iWeb 08...

  • How do you copy one page into another pages 5.2 doc

    Working in version 5.2 and want to add (copy) one page from one pages document into another pages document. (both documents are made w 5.2)
    Thanks!

    You could copy and paste pages from one document to another in Pages '09, but Apple removed this from Pages 5.
    Best you can do is copy the content.

  • Exporting pages into another application -another scheme

    Hello,
    the pages from an exported application aren't installable in my target app.
    Copying a Page between the Applications failed.
    Following Raj's hint I did the export/ import for the whole application from Workspace A into Workspace B. Workspace A is placed in a different Database Scheme than workspace B.
    On install a new AppId has been created. Former 107, it has been changed to 114.
    The Application could be started, import worked fine so far,I thought ....
    While trying to import specific pages into the target application ( ID is 119) using the import wizard my problem occcured:
    Running this HTMLDB returns 'This page has been imported from a different workspace, so it can't be installed into this application'.
    What went wrong?
    Regards
    Franz Langner

    Bernhard - I think you are describing the long-standing problem of not being able to install a page into an application other than the application from which it was exported. Raj described a procedure to deal with this situation here: Synonyms Franz was saying that he had problems even after using that procedure. So I think Franz's and your situations are different and that yours can be addressed if you use the referenced procedure.
    If I've got it wrong, please elaborate.

  • Noob Needs Help - Importing Html Pages into "My Site"

    Greetings
    I am sure this is a noob question that may have been asked, but I couldn't find it by searching so here goes.
    I jumped right into Dream Weaver, following an online tutorial... and have a decent webpage but I must have skipped some steps or missed something and I would hate to backtrack and do it all over again...
    When I began, I just started working on a HTML page... and now that its done, I want to make it a template etc...
    But I never created a "site" as far as SITE > NEW SITE etc.
    So now that I have, I need to tell DW that "These pages are included... these images are included, all that neat SPRY stuff I have done needs to be "in the site".
    I am looking for a button that says, "Hey dummy, you need to select the pages that are included in your site" but can't find it...
    Any help?
    Thanks, in Advance

  • Allow client to administer a page on a site?

    I don't even know how to efficiently ask this question, so I'll just wade in.
    I'm making a small site for my brother, more or less on a hobby basis. Nothing has been posted yet, we're still talking about the look. But this issue has come up with other clients in the past, so I thought this would be a good time to plunge in.
    One or two "news" pages on the site will need to be updated on an irregular basis. Of course I could open my GoLive file and make changes, and repost the updated pages. But is there a reasonable way to integrate some technology (PHP, a blog?) into the site from the beginning that would allow my bro' to update the pages himself, from his computer, without having to edit HTML text files and post them?
    He did that kind of "editing" for an older site years ago, way before all the new web technologies. It worked but was cumbersome. About two years ago, I bought a PHP based suite called TNG and used it to create the pages at http://lovebunnies.luckypro.biz/genealogy/intro.php, but I know nothing about PHP and just used the editing/posting/changing features of the suite more or less out-of-the-box.
    It was fun doing all the editing online, from within a browser, and I wondered if some similar edit-it-himself function can be created using GoLive? Is there another, easier way to give him editing capabilities for a few pages? Note he will only want to change text, not layout or design. Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!

    Thank you, Nate. I see that the short answer is "No, there is no way to use GoLive CS2 itself to allow my client to create and edit a blog or static pages." I have looked at the uselessly verbose, uninformative and fluffy Adobe pages on Contribute. It seems to be intended for Dreamweaver users, not GoLive. I'm not spending $170 for my brother to muck about.
    I do know of WordPress and TypePad. The question is how to integrate them into a site built with GoLive.
    "...a plain text file that's later imported into your HTML" is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. At that rate, I could just edit and update myself in GLCS2.
    I'll try to pull in some favors and see if my pals have any bright ideas. Thanks!

    Damodar,
    To include an existing JSP page as a portlet have a look in the PDK section http://portalcenter.oracle.com there is lots useful information. The two things you might find most relevant is a paper on creating java portlets. This paper has a section on turning an existing JSP page into a portlet
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/ARTICLES/HOW.TO.BUILD.A.JAVA.PORTLET.USING.PDK.JAVA.V2.HTML
    and to pass parameters and events
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/ARTICLES/OVERVIEW.PARAMETERS.EVENTS.HTML
    Hope this helps,
    Candace

  • My main blog page can't find its entry pages

    When I make iWeb blog entry pages, the main blog page can't find them. It says "Error. The file cannot be found." (even if I just use the placeholder "Blue bird day" page without changing it!) I'm dragging my image onto the placeholder image on the (Modern) Blog entry page but the main Blog pag can't find it or even the placeholder image on an unmodified new blog entry page.
