Incorrect ADT version when compiling using updated AIR SDK in Flash Builder

I was wondering if anyone else has come across adt version issues when compiling with Flash Builder.
I just downloaded Flash Builder 4.7 (I had 4.6 installed previously).  I upgraded due to AIR SDK issues when trying to send my app to iOS.  I downloaded AIR 3.7 SDK and done the whole "overlay" described here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html but when trying to compile it Flash Builder, it states that version 3.7 is not only up to 3.1  I did a check of the adt that is being used (adt -version) and it returns back that it is version 3.1  This is the one contained within the sdks/4.6.0/lib folder.  If I copy the one from the AIRSDK folder and check the version on that 3.7 comes up correctly, but it needs files that are contained in the AIRSDK folder, so I'll need to copy more than just the adt.jar file.
Really I'm just trying to see if anyone knows what I can change in Flash Builder to point to the AIRSDK folder instead of the sdks/4.6.0/lib folder so I'm not constantly updating my adt.jar file each time I install a new AIR SDK.

OK, not the best solution (hopefully someone will be able to tell me where to update Flash Builder to point to the AIRSDK directory instead of {FB install dir}/sdks/4.6.0/lib, but until then, here's a work around.
First make sure to backup your old aot and android directories in your {FB install dir}/sdks/4.6.0/lib and your original adt file (I just renamed them to fileOrDir_original)
Then copy your adt.jar file, aot dir, android dir, and I copied legacy dir also to your {FB install dir}/sdks/4.6.0/lib
You should now be able to compile using the 3.7 AIR SDK.  There's another fix for PIE in AIR 3.8, so I may be updating again soon to the labs build.  I'm hesitant to copy any more files over in case it stops my non-mobile AIR builds from working, but hopefully this will be good enough for mobile builds and for anyone else having this issue in Flash Builder.

  • Overlaying adobe air sdk in flash builder 4.6

After overlaying adobe air sdk in flash builder 4.6 i am getting this error in my flex mobile project "Could not resolve <s:ViewNavigatorApplication> to a component implementation.". I have followed the steps mentioned on this link "http://rubberduckygames.com/how-to-overlay-abode-air-sdk-over-flex-sdk/". Can anyone please suggest me what i need to do in order to get this work.

    Finally Figure it out..
    geo = new Geolocation();
    geo.addEventListener(GeolocationEvent.UPDATE, onLocationUpdate);
has to be executed before checking if it is muted.
    geo.addEventListener(GeolocationEvent.UPDATE, onLocationUpdate);
Is what requests permissions from the phone to use the gps.
Hope this saves someone alot of time.

  • Using latest FileInfo SDK, latest Flash Builder, new project crashes in latest Bridge

I've been trying to create a custom panel in Adobe Bridge.  I downloaded the XMP-FileInfo-SDK-CS6, loaded the jar file into Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (latest version), created a new project with NO modifications, and published it to the correct Custom File Info Panels folder on Windows 7.  I then restarted Bridge, opened FileInfo in a photo, but when I navigated to the new panel that I just created, it fails to load correctly and hangs the entire application.  The only way to close the window is to restart Bridge.
So just to be clear -- latest SDK, latest Flash Builder, latest Bridge version, new project, no modifcation, completely crashes Bridge.  The GenericPanel is about the only thing that works without problem, but it's a little too limited for what I want to do (no business logic).
Not very reassuring that this is going to work at all.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there any workaround, or update I can try instead?
    Thanks.

Ok, finally got this working.  Many hidden gotchas.
    1.  You have to make a Trust File for your custom panel.  This is actually in the SDK, around page 53, so my bad -- but the problem is that there is no feedback from the Adobe application if you don't have this.  The application just hangs.  It should produce an error message "can't find trust file, etc.".  This should not be that hard to implement.
    2.  The latest Flex SDK does not seem to work in Bridge CC or other similar applications.  You have to use Flex SDK 3.x, apparently, and this is NOT in the documentation.  Not only should you set the default SDK in Flex Builder to 3.x (I'm using 3.6) but you have to edit the build.properties file to make sure it's pointing to the correct folder, eg: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)/sdks/3.6.0.  Fortunately Flash Builder 4.7 comes with 3.6 installed.  If you have an older version, it's likely to be completely different.

It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed.  This is pretty typical.  Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images.  How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile.  If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it.  It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background.  A quick web search turns up many overviews.  Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.

  • Air app in Flash Builder w/ lastest OSMF 1.6 s5

I am trying to build and air app with an osmf player in it. I need to use the lastest version. The challenge is the newest version requires the use of flex sdk 4.5 which doesn't compile to Air. I did find some instrustion on how to use inplement and use the new Air sdk 2.6 to allow flex to compile Air with the 4.5 sdk but it doesn't seem to work for me. Has anyone else had to install the Air 2.6 sdk for this reason? If so could you share how you got it to work?
I was attempting it with the following instrunction. http://blogs.adobe.com/cantrell/archives/2011/03/how-to-use-air-2-6-with-flash-builder-4.h tml

    I used that : http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/airquestions/AIR+for+TV?focusedCommentId=79464085&#com ment-79464085
    and it worked.
it forces you to downgrade to Flex 4.1 SDK though.

    Hi,
Can you please let me know whether you have overlaid it on Win/Mac?
When you have created the mobile project what does app.xml show? for example if you have 3.5 overlaid you should be able to see something like this in app.xml
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/3.5">
For overlaying AIR 3.5 SDK on Flex SDK 4.6 locally following the instructions mentioned in the below url and then create a Flex Mobile project using that SDK.

  • Can i update flex 4.6 sdk to flash builder 4.5 for php ?

    well
i already downloaded the 4.6SDK from http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flexsdk site but once i add the new sdk to flash builder and try to make a new project
i cannot switch to design mode at all , gives me and erro rmessage: The Design mode is disabled as the project uses incompatible version of the flex SDK.
    What's the deal ?
    have to wait till Q1  / 12 ?
    Cheers

If you're using components specific to the Flex 4.6 release, then it would be a natural assumption that design view will not work.  If you're having this issue while using components that are not unique to Flex 4.6, then I don't have an answer.  On a good note, design view is completely useless anyway.  It's much faster to type than to drag stuff around with your mouse needlessly.

  • Overlay AIR 3.3 sdk for Flash Builder on Snow Leopard

The AIR 3.3 sdk is now a DMG, used to be a .tbz2 zip file, and there is no merge capabilities with Snow Leopard..
How can I overlay AIR 3.3 sdk for Flash Builder 4.6 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8?
Also I may have Lion soon so can you provide steps for FB overlay of the DMG on OSX 10.7?
    Many thanks.
PS.I am dumbfounded there is no documentation on this by Adobe release after release? For OSX users there is an old Adobe KB article that I can't find anymore, there is a youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S118mZjln3I) I recommend, and a post most mac/FB users use (http://jeffwinder.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/installing-adobe-air-3-sdk-in-flash.html) and none of them remind you to use sudo before the terminal command..

Thanks eran1976 here is the OSX 10.6.8 process that worked for me:
    1. open the 3.3 sdk DMG and copy all the files into a new emty folder called say AIR33SDK or whatever in your sdks directory
    2. asuming your current Flash Builder sdk with air3.2 or older is called 4.6.0, open terminal and run:
    3. sudo cp -Rp /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/AIR33SDK/ /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/
    4. you can now delete AIR33SDK folder if you wish
    5. open Flash Builder and change any existing project xml application files to 3.3
    5. remember to backup your 4.6.0 folder first

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • FMB size changes when compiled using ifcmp60 compared to using ifbld60

We observed that when we batch compiled our forms size of the FMB reduced quite a bit after batch compile and save compared
to what it was to originally when compiled and saved through forms builder (ifbld60.EXE). If after this form is opened in
forms builder and then compiled and saved it reverts to original size. We also checked using one of the third party form
diff utility and found both FMB’s from batch compile and one from form builder even though of different size do not have any
    difference.
Now question sis what is the reason FMB size is reduced and does it not pose any kind of issue for loosing something out of
the FMB. Please explain what is this behavior with impact if any etc?
We batch compile using the following code.
    For %%I in (sizechange.FMB) do start /w ifcmp60 module=%%I userid=usrname/passwd@SID batch=yes compile_all=yes Upgrade=No
    build=Yes
We made a sample form named sizechange.fmb with non-db block and having program unit selecting from dual multiple times.
    Environment details : Windwos 2000, Forms 6.0.8.22.1, db(8.0.6.0.0) on HP9000-UX 10.20
Thanks in advance for your response.

    Thanks,

Didn't see they where timestamps . Yes it seems that glx is one cause of the delay. I've tried some different xorg.conf, and it's always ligglx.so or  NV-GLX that slows it down. Any suggestions on how I can speed this up?
ps. The computer is ok. Although the garddrive is a SATA 3.0Gb/s, 5400 RPM.  But I don't think this is the problem?

  • Installing and using Adobe Air SDK 2.5 with Flash Professional CS4

    Hi,
I am trying to install the Air SDK 2.5 with Flash Professional CS4 with the intention of creating a program to use Actionscript 3 to communicate with the UDP interface using datagrams. (The server is the IL2 device link interface) As I am very new to this development environment I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions.
    1) Can I use datagram sockets with Air 2.5 with Actionscript 3 and Flash CS4?
    2) Is there special procedure for installing the AIR SDK 2.5 or do I use the instructions layout in "How to Overlay the Adobe Air 2 SDK for Use with Flash Professional - Flash professional CS4"?
    3) If I do use those instructions, when I edit the namespace for my application do I set it to 2.0 or 2.5?
    4) As a stepping stone to building my program I was trying to try to build the Actionscript 3  DatagramSocketExample program that is published by Adobe. Unfortunately I am getting a '1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: DatagramSocketDataEvent'.
Is there a step by step tutorial on how to get the example code up and running?
Thankyou for your time and patience with my noob questions
    Ian

This was part of the AIR 2.0 beta release note, but I used this for 2.5 and it works nice.
You can try it too an make sure you use 2.5 wherever the not says 2.0beta2.
    Goodluck.
How to Update Flash CS4 to Use the AIR 2 Beta SDK
If you use Flash CS4 Professional to build Adobe AIR applications, please follow the instructions below to manually update the version of the AIR SDK to use version 2.0.
Update Flash CS4 Professional to version 10.0.2 at http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html or select "Help > Updates... " from within Flash CS4.
Quit Flash CS4 Professional if it is open.
Navigate to the Flash CS4 installation folder. The default location on Windows is "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\" and on Mac OS "/Applications/Adobe Flash CS4/"
Within the "Adobe Flash CS4" folder you should see a folder called "AIK1.5". If this folder is not present repeat step #1.
Rename the folder "AIK1.5" to "AIK1.5 OLD" or delete it if you do not need to save a copy of it.
Make a new folder called "AIK1.5"
Download the Adobe AIR 2 SDK from the labs website and uncompress the contents of the folder to the new "AIK1.5" folder you just created.
Copy the "airglobal.swc" file located within the "Adobe Flash CS4/AIK1.5/frameworks/libs/air/" folder into the "Adobe Flash CS4/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/AIR1.5/" folder.
Flash CS4 is now configured to use the AIR 2 beta 2 SDK.
In order to take advantage of the new AIR 2 beta 2 features, you will need to update your application descriptor file to use the "2.0beta2" namespace.
