Increasing dequeue frequency in OSB

Hi,
Can you please help me on this.
I have written a OSB proxy service that dequeues message from Oracle Queues(AQ adapter) and invokes a stored procedure, that enqueues a message to a Queue.
I could see that 100 k records are processed in 20 minutes. I would like to increase the dequeue frequency. Is there any property that i could set in the JCA file that increases the dequeue frequency.
Thanks,
Naveen

Hi Naveen,
Were you able to find out the settings to improve the AQAdapters dequeue performance in OSB proxy services ?

  • Increase counter frequency performance

    Hello,
I want to increase the frequency performance for my period counter. I'm using a USB-6210 board and I have the vi that is attached - period measurement.
The problem is that I want to measure the period for a 8MHz signal (I know that is a lot, I would be happy even with 4MHz). The source freq for the counter is 80Hz. If the frequency is high, the accuracy is not very critical for me.
    1. I get most of the time the error: "Buffer overwritten". I've seen that I can get rid of it if I decrease the frequency, but I don't want to do that . I think that another solution would be to increase the number of points that are read. I noticed that the maximum buffer size is around 9000 points (I've read it with DAQmxRead Property Node).
    2. Another fact that I've noticed is that in the While loop where I'm doing the Data Reading I should have no other operations or delay. Is this true, or just a coincidence?
    3. There is a strange behavior: if I start the acquisition and I have at the input high frequency, I get the error (Buffer overwritten) almost instant. If I start acquisition at low freq I can increase it even at high freq.
    4. There is another strange behavior: if the input frequency is high the frequency and the measured period increase and decrease togheter. I think that this is caused by alias. Where can I find some more information about the board limits?
If you can give me some other advice/hints/links/pdfs I would be very thanksful.
Maybe there are some small mistakes in the VI. I made it only to get a feeling of what I'm doing. I didn't chek it with the hardware.

    Jochen,
thanks for this information. This was what I was looking for some while.
I still have a question related to this topic: I've read that the maximum size of FIFO is 1024 samples. What does it mean?
[JK:] The FIFO is the hardware buffer on the board. In general the PCI-bus or the USB should have enough bandwidth to transfer the data as fast as they are acquired by the device, but in fact there are sometimes some latencies that require some local memory on the board. That's what is called FIFO in this context.
This FIFO is the same with the: Available Samples Pro Channel from Read Property node?
[JK:]  No. This value refers to the buffer in the PC's memory that is allocated for the acquisition operation.
I've noticed that when the value for this property is passing 9000 I get the error with Overwritten Buffer. If it is like this why do I reach more than 9000 samples pro channel? Please take a look at the attachement (test1.png - screenshoot with the values / speed_test_x - the VI that I used for this measurement).
[JK:] The buffer size is not limited to 9000 values. NI-DAQmx allocates memory automatically by default. If you like you can increase the buffer size manually.
Which is the relation between maximum numbers of sample that can be read with the Counter 1D Read NSamples? In my VI there are N=250 samples. Can I increase it in order to avoid the error? If yes, which should be the maximum limit, 1024 ?
[JK:] You can increase the number of values to read up to the size of the buffer (not of the FIFO). A reasonable value is up to 50% of the buffer size, but this is not a strict rule. Anything between 10% and 90% could make sense, depending on the timing requirements of your application.

  • Can I increase the frequency of email push on my iphone?

can I increase the frequency in which I receive email? can i get an email push every 5 minutes?

I hope they will be adding the every 5 mins option soon. I was happy with my old Samsung Galaxy Mini as it helped me stay on top of my personal and work mails. Mails just came in almost as soon as it was sent since I had it set to every 5 minutes. I decided to get an additional phone since the battery was going kaput and sometimes the screen went out. Heard raves about the iPhones so I got the iphone5. I noticed that I did not see new mails unless I checked the mailbox and I had to wait. It frustrates me to find that this new it phone can of put me on top of important things. I need to see my mails all the time as I usually have important and urgent matters throughout the day. I checked again in settings and in the net only to find that the most frequent push is every 15mins. That is too long an interval to know and act on important matters. Is there anything else I can do? The beauty of this phone would be defeated if I would have to mailbox and wait every time for the mails to load. My old Samsung which is not even top of the line gives me my email faster and I get to act upon work ASAP. When new mails come I see it right away, no more waiting time needed. Would anybody know if Apple fix this already? If not, I hope they do it really soon. This is a big let down for me. The apps are great including usability in terms of networking, images, etc but let's face it, personal and work email is more important than Facebook, YouTube and everything else. A good techie or Apple I hope you can help me or fix this with a system update, ASAP.  Thank you very much.

  • Timed increase in frequency into "simulate signal.vi"

Hi all, I'm an absoulte beginner with labview so any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to increase the frequency of a generated sine wave, created using the simulate signal.vi, in set increments over time.
In other words I want the simulate signal.vi to produce a sine wave that will over a set period of time increase in frequency from say 39.5kHz to 41.5kHz, in increments of 0.1hz.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What are you unfamiliar with? All of the express functions have their name and you can use the search button on the functions palette? The only only thing you might need is a shift register and you get that by clicking on the border of the for loop. You might want to check the free tutorials.
You don't mention which version of LabVIEW you are using so here it is as 8.0.

  • Restrict SOA JMS Adapter dequeue frequency

    Hi,
we are reading messages from third party JMS queues in the BPEL Process using JMS Adapter in the Composite. Sometimes because of more load on the JMS queue ie around 40 records per second we are facing load issues. BPEL is able to read close to 40 records per second from the queue and calls the Oracle Agile 9.3.2 Web services but the Agile web services are not able to handle such heavy load.
We want to throttle the JMS Adapter and limit the number of messages we dequeue.

  • How to Measure Frequency to RPM NI-DAQmx Tasks

    Hello,
I am trying to measure frequency using NI DAQmx task and then convert this to an RPM if at all possible.
I have the following hardware options at my disposal.
I have SCXI 1126 Module along with a SCXI 1327 terminal, as well as a PXI 6289 Multifunction DAQ.
I have wired in a mag sensor to ai7 on my 1126 and when I pass a metallic object I get a amplitude of 6  - 8  so I am able to read the mag sensor.
What I am trying to do is to somehow convert this analog measurement into a RPM while only utilizing the NI DAQmx task.
    Any help would be appreciated.

So I would select new in "Custom Scaling"
    Then would I select linear?
Your calculations are simple but I am unsure if this would give me the desired result.  From my attachment I am seeing an input amplitude of 6 Hz for each pulse.  What I mean by this is that every time I bring a ferrous object near my mag pick up I get a pulse, this is what I was trying to illustrate in the attachment.  The analog pulse comes in a 6 Hz so I would simply multiple this pulse by 60 (assuming I get one pulse per rotation) to get RPM?
How would this make sense if I only input one pulse for a long duration of time?
I have notice the amplitude of the pulse input increases with increased pulse frequency.  Does this mean the lowest RPM I can record is 360 RPM?

  • Frequency/Period measurement with USB-6218

I have been trying to get a USB-6218 to measure either frequency or period and have been running in to issues. I have attempted to connected to each counter gate (PFI1 or PFI2) and have not had any luck. I am attempting to meausre lower-frequency signals (1Hz-1KHz) so the Low-Frequency, 1 counter approach seems to be the one I need. The end goal is to get it working in Labwindows. I have made attempts using both sample LabWindows programs as well as MAX. In each of them, it appears that the frequency measurement is actually coming back with the pulse width of both the low and high portions of the signal. For instance, if I am trying to meausre the period of a 100 Hz signal, with a 75% duty cycle, it will toggle between 0.0075 and 0.0025 seconds for the period. If I increase the frequency of the signal to 10 KHz, it measures the frequency well. Is there something I am missing? Based on the manual, I should be able to meausre lower frequency signals using this method. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Can you upload a screenshot of your Task in MAX is setup? Is this happening at all lower frequencies or just at 100 Hz? Lets make sure we can get this working in MAX before adding LabWindows/CVI on top of it.
Sometimes this can happen if the rise/fall time of the signal is not within the specifications of the device. This KnowledgeBase article shows the acceptable rise/fall times.

  • Memory frequency in overclocking?

I hope someone is willing to help me out as I am a complete beginner and very much out of my depth... having said that...
I'm looking to set up a very modest stable overclock... with next to no idea of what i'm doing.
    I have an E4400 ms-7255 with 2 x 1gb RAM which runs at 333Mhz according to cpuz.
I haven't been able to find anything about 333Mhz RAM (if that IS indeed what i have - since i read it usually runs below its specs)
How does RAM frequency affect overclocking? Is it still possible/worthwhile or does the bandwidth limit it too much?
What settings would you recommend me attempting as a very safe attempt without having to flick the switch to reset my motherboard - and could you give me a bit of a run down/how to keeping in mind i'm less than leet.
    Thanks so much
    Samuel

    Hello oscariouss,
the first basic thing you should try to get sorted before you get into overclocking is the difference between "real clock speeds" and "effective clock speeds" and also the inter-dependencies of different clocks and clock rates on an Intel System.
CPU-Z for example, shows you the "real" clock speed of your memory.  Now, as we are talking about DDR memory modules, the effective clock speed is always twice the real clock speed.  That is why "333 MHz" actually translates to DDR2-667 Mhz effectively. [DDR stands for "Double Data Rate" and this means that with each clock cycle, two transactions will take place (that is how you get the factor x2)]
    Quote

You probably have DDR2-667 memory modules.  To be absolutely sure about that, open your computer case and have a look at the memory modules themselves.  The brand and model name is usually mentioned on some sort of sticker.
CPU-Z should also display information about the brand and model name of your memory modules.  Have a look at the "SPD" Tab and see what it says in the top half.  You can also make screenshot and post them here for comparison.
To overclock the system, the most basic operation is to simply raise the FSB Clock Speed in BIOS.  For your current processor, the default FSB clock speed should be 200 MHz.  CPU Frequency is always the product of FSB Clock Speed x Multiplier and that is why raising the FSB Frequency will automatically result in a higher CPU Frequency.
Keep in mind, that memory frequency is also tied to FSB Frequency.  The relation between FSB Clock and memory clock is regulated via FSB/Memory Ratios that can be set in BIOS.  If your FSB Clock speed is 200 MHz and memory clock speed (real) is 333 MHz, that means that FSB/Memory Ratio is set to 1:1.66 in BIOS (probably via an AUTO setting).
Now, if you raise FSB Clock Speed, memory clock speed will rise as well.  If you would increase FSB Frequency to 210 MHz in BIOS and the FSB/Memory Ratio remains @1:1.66, memory clock speed will be forced to:
    210 MHz x 1.66 = 348,6 MHz [or DDR2-697 MHz effectively]
Please also remember, that your board is a budget model whose VIA Chipset is not really a high-end/high-performance piece of hardware.  Overclocking is not exactly what the designers had in mind here.  That means that the overclocking potential will most likely be limited and the BIOS will probably lack specific OC relevant options that will help to  reach higher clock speeds.  That, of course, does not mean that you should not at least try to check what is possible, but you should not be disappointed when you find out that you are unable to stabilize the system above certain frequencies.
I don't know which options you have to influence memory clock speed (or more precisely FSB/Memory Ratio) in BIOS.  Just have a look what options you have there and tell us here.

You seem to have found one of the more convoluted methods of generating a sine wave. Have you looked at any of the example programs? Go to Help>Find Examples and for Hardware Input & Output>DAQmx>Analog Generation, look through some of them.
You major problem is trying to generate it one point at a time with the single sample mode of DAQmx Write. Not at all sure why you are using the Elapsed Time function or the Mathscript. There are built-in functions (even an Express VI) to generate a sine wave.
p.s. You have also posted to the wrong board. This has nothing to do with Counter/Timer hardware.

  • Z87-G45 - RAM frequency problem

    Hi all
    I've got Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2400
and i want to increase the frequency from 1333 to 2400
I have tried XMP but nothing changed. Later i tried to set the frequency manually to 2400 but still nothing.
    ???

Im at work right now so i'll report on that later. but just so i'll know, should i enable or disable the XMP ?
    Also:
"The i3-4130 system I built with that board (MSI Z87-G45 Gaming) ran good, but the board is sensitive to which sticks you use. It won't run the HyperX Beast 2400 kit (2 x 4GB) that runs perfectly in my Asus P8Z77-V board. It defaulted back to the SPD rating of 1333 MHz. I didn't try any of the ones on the QVL because they are all old kits and no longer available. MSI as usual has issues with compatibility. I thought maybe it was because of the i3's limited throughput, but my next build was with the same i3-4130 and an Asus Z87-K (Asus' lowest-priced Z87 board), and that system had no trouble at all running the Beast kit, or for that matter running the 2 x 8GB Adata XPG V2 2400 MHz kit I run in my main rig. I really thought MSI was looking better these days, I really liked the board, but they let me down again (as always). I try to give other brands a chance, but always go back to Asus after dealing with all the little issues that crop up every time.
To answer your question, I would only buy RAM for that board off the QVL, if even possible. I tried to match a kit for over an hour without success, all were "out-of-stock" or "discontinued" except one 1866 kit with crappy specs and a high price. I guess I'm spoiled by Asus, their boards always ran everything I installed right out of the box. I suppose companies with fewer resources have to use whatever's laying around in the lab to make their QVL, as they can't afford to buy the latest kits. Sad that so new a board has a QVL from 2 years ago!
Normally I'd adivse that kits up to 2400 are the sweet spot, since their price is only a little higher than 1600 kits, but with that board, until more users post some kits that work, I'd say stick with 1600/1.5v kits."

  • JMS Consumption

    Hi Guys,
I need to understand how to control the consumption of messeges from JMS Queue.
    This is what i tried:
    1. I created a Queue names TQ.
    2. Then created a BPEL process to enqueue messages in TQ.
    3. Created a BPEL process to dequeue messages from TQ
At this time when I checked the TQ in weblogic under Monitoring Tab it was showing "consumer current" = 1
    4. I stopped the consumption of the TQ.
    5. I loaded 5000 messages in TQ using Enqueue BPEL Process.
    6. Now the "Current messages" in Weblogic shows 5000 for TQ
    7. After this I enabled the consumption of the TQ.
    8. Immediately, I jumped to the em console and checked the "Running Instances" check box for the Dequeue service. it displayed 100 running instances.
    9. I no where mentioned the number of instances, all above is without any customisation.
    10. I refreshed the console several times, the "Running Instances" count fluctaues between 85 and 110, till the complete load is finished.
Please let me know how can this consumption be controlled and when will the "consumer current" = 1 value changes....?
    Regards

    Hi Arpit,
There is limited support in restricting the consumption. However, you can slow or accelerate the consumption using the following.
    To accelerate consumption:_
By default there is 1 poller thread that dequeues the message from JMS. If you increase that thread count, you can accelerate the consumption. Set the adapter.jms.receive.threads Property for this as explained under.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10108/adapters.htm#BABCGCEC
    To Slow down consumption:_
Introduce the delay between the message consumption as explained under.
Restrict SOA JMS Adapter dequeue frequency
Try with various combinations and let us know how you get along.

You have the MacBookPro6,2—the Edsel of Macs. It may have the logic-board defect that was covered by this recall.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers do not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue that Apple calls "VST" (for "Video Switching Test.") Ask for it. A "Failed" result means that the fault is present. However, according to reports, some units may pass the test, and yet still be deemed eligible for repair under the program. Your experience may vary.
Print the first page of the panic report, if any, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Note that the recall only applies within three years of purchase. After that, Apple may refuse the service. In that case, you may be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a "depot repair," which involves shipping the unit to a central repair facility and takes about two weeks. For that flat fee, anything found wrong with it should be fixed, not just the logic board.
The model was discontinued on February 24, 2011, so the recall has nominally ended. Some units may have been sold after that date by Apple as refurbished, or by resellers as new, and they might still be covered.
Residents of the EU may be entitled to warranty service for up to six years after purchase.
Some owners report that their unit was repaired under the program after the deadline had passed. Others report that the repair was covered by the extended warranty from a credit-card issuer. Again, your experience may vary.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility. If you decide to pay for a new logic board, test thoroughly during the 90-day warranty period on the repair. Some owners have reported that they went through as many as three replacement boards before getting one that worked.
If it's too late for your unit to be repaired free of charge, and you don't want to pay for the service, you may (or may not) be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching. To use the discrete graphics processor, you'll need a third-party utility to switch to it manually.
Often the problems start after an OS upgrade. If the upgrade was recent, and you have backups, then you can revert to a previous OS X version.
If you're dissatisfied with Apple's response, please keep in mind that no one here represents the company or can help with customer-service issues.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
