InDesign CS06 8.0.2 patch

Hello, i have now InDesign CS6 v.8.0 I need the upgrade Version 8.0.2 which i can find from here. When i try to install it i get a message about admin rights.
There is a post here with the same problem https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/updates-repeatedly-applied-cc.html
but sadly it does not work with any of the mentioned solutions. Is there any other solution ?

I now tried to install another update from another adobe application and still get the same picture. Also and from Adobe application Manager.
Update Failed
Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator.
So it is not a indesign issue but a more global one.

SWF files in InDesign for export as Interactive PDF

I am creating an interactive PDF file which contains a multi-state slide show with navigation buttons that I created in InDesign. Since that will not display and "work" in an interactive PDF I exported a .swf file of the slide show to place in the final InDesign page layout. The interactive PDF works just fine when viewed in Acrobat, but the .swf file of the slide show moves around and changes scale depending on the view scale in Acrobat so that it no longer stays where it was intended in the InDesign layout. I suspect that I exported the .swf slide show from the InDesign file incorrectly but I can't figure out what the peoblem is.

What version of InDesign? Is it fully patched?
There was a bug in the initial release of CS5 that caused this type of behavior but it was fixed in a dot release.

What to do with "Update is not applicable" error when install the InCopy 7.0.5.562 patch on window?

Hi,
I had InCopy 7.0.0.354 window version, and would like to upgrade to newer version.
After install the InCopy 7.0.5.652 patch, there is this "Update is not applicable" error.
The InDesign 7.0.5.652 patch installs (my old InDesign is 7.0.0.354) with no problem.
I also tried to remove my InCopy 7.0.0, re-installed InCopy 7.0.0, but still the 7.0.5 patch has the same error.
Now I have newer version of InDesign, but old version of InCopy, which can't be right for my work.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
I can only use the 7.0.5 patch.

InDesign CC keeps crashing

Hi there,
I'm having a problem with InDesign CC crashing, which has happened to me quite a few times lately. This happens with old or new files, I'll be using it merrily when suddenly the object I have selected rotates at an angle, and I cannot select save on the file any more. All I can do is shut down the file without saving. This has happened to me before on a previous mac and on CS4 - I'm using a wacom tablet, and wonder if I could be possibly selecting something that locks the file, not allowing me to save or undo actions? I can't think what I could be doing, and would really appreciate some advice.

Export Multi-Page Document as Individual PDF's, Exporting Layers

I'm not sure if there is a way to do this (I've scoured through the Export dialogues and I'm not sure if what I am looking for is counter-intuitively labelled or just doesn't exist). What I would like to do is take a multi-page document and export it so that each page is it's own PDF - from a single Export. I know that there are ways to split PDF's in Acrobat, but we are trying to streamline our workflow so I'd prefer if this can just be done in one step at the time of PDF creation.
The other issue I am running into, when I export a PDF with layers, the elements on the layers are rearrangting themselves. For example: I have a 45 page document, with 3 layers (Dieline, Background, Artwork). When I export the PDF, all of the layers are in the proper order, but only Page 1 has the creative elements on the proper layers (Pages 2-45 take all artwork and move it up to the top-most layer).

You’ll need a script. What version of InDesign? Is it fully patched? How are you viewing the PDF?

IDCS3 Freezes - completely unusable

Hi,
I'm running a fully patched indesign cs3 on a fully patched xp sp3 machine. Both xp and indesign are fresh installs. My specs are:
quad core 6600, 4 gig ram, 8600 gts nvidia, 10,000 rpm hard drive.
Indesign freezes (usually for ~20-60 seconds) when I try to do anything at all. Opening a file, moving an image around, even just scrolling the page.
It seems to partially lock the OS as well. I can't open any new windows (windows-e for explorer, for example).
Please help, it's completely unusable.

This kind of problem is often related to video drivers, I think, or to trying to read/write over a busy network (and that includes updating previews for images stored on the network).
Video drivers are tested by turning video hardware acceleration to zero in the troubleshooting tab of the display settings dialog. If that fixes things, you need a new driver.

Plug-in error opening file

Hello
I had difficulty opening a file which I got from a client.
It gave me an error message that read:
Cannot open “XX”. Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions, or upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign.
Adobe Extention Manager CS5.5 shows these all greyed and locked:

PNG Import filter.InDesignPlugin
Indexing.InDesignPlugin
Generic Page Item.InDesignPlugin
Master Page.InDesignPlugin

Where can I find a patch for Indesign and Acrobat cs6 for mac retina display?

I have found the patch for screen resolution for photoshop, but the illustrator patch says it is not compatible and I cannot locate one for in-design (my primary program) or Acrobat. There must be a patch, right? Or else whats the point of it?

The patch is upgrading to InDesign CC, which requires an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. Sorry.
There is no Acrobat CS6. The last version is Acrobat XI which was created too late to include support for Retina Display. It will probably be in the next version of Acrobat.
Creating "patches" for Retina Display are much more engineering intensive than you would expect. In the case of InDesign, it had to be completed in the context of moving to becoming a 64 bit application and moving application development from Carbon to Cocoa (a required move on the Mac accomplished finally in InDesign CC).

Indesign 8.0.2 Patch install problems

I have Indesign 8.0 installed on a machine that is not allowed to touch any networks. I tried to install the 8.0.2 patch on it today and the installer told me the patch was not applicable. I have gone out to the downloads section to verify that I was getting the right patch. After checking I redownload the patch (had it right the first time) and it still wont install.
Please I need some help here.

InDesign CS version 3.0 updating to 3.01 patch

When updating my Indesign CS version 3.0 with the 3.01 patch, it says update was installed successfully, but it doesn't update to 3.01. Will it say 3.01 in "About InDesign"? Still says 3.0. Also, when I run update installer check it still says 3.01 update is available to update.

Backward compatibility in Indesign works like this:
Any version of ID can open files from any version up to that release. Once saved in a newer version, files cannot be opened in older versions, with the following exception, of sorts. Beginning with CS2 (version 4) files can be exported to .inx (Interchange Format) which can be opened by the version doing the export and one version earlier. Any features used in the newer version which are not available in the older version will be lost, and text will most likley recompose and change line ending points due to differences in text engines for each version. It is possible to hack CS4 .inx to sometimes make it open in CS2, but it is not guaranteed.
Exporting to back save is not a recommended workflow and should be considered a last resort. If you know a file will need to be opened in an earlier version, you should do all work in that version for best results.

Indesign 9.1 won't start after 9.2 patch failed

I am running a Windows 7 system with CC and CS6 aps.
I tried installing the latest June 2014 update. It apparently applied correctly to ID CC6 but failed on ID CC. I reapplied it (2nd failure) and tried to start ID CC(64bit) but something broke and now startup gets to "Calling Late initializers" and Windows shuts it down with an "Adobe InDesign has stopped working" message.
Indesign (32bit) starts OK. Other CC aps start OK.
I have tried everything I could think of to clear this:
Delete preferences and restart
Sign in/out of CC
Reboot
Uninstall/reinstall (multiple times over a slow DSL connection. <sigh>)
Verify ID CC(64bit) fails in W7 safe mode (It does)
Restore to an earlier point via W7 restore.
As this is an install on a second machine I compared the files in C:\Users{user}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe InDesign\9.1 in the good install with the bad install and moved/renamed everything that was different.
I tried running the CC cleaner tool. If I uninstall InDesign CC it is not in the list of programs in the CC cleaner tool. If I don't uninstall it then CC cleaner wants to clear the uninstall files. I don't think that's what I want to do.
Nothing has helped.
I do have a current system partition image backup I can restore from but I would prefer to not do anything that drastic if it can be avoided.
(I am aware this is probably two separate problems: 1) 9.2 won't apply to ID CC and 9.1 (64bit) won't start. Right now I just want to get 9.1 to start..)

Yes, I found out Indd 32 bit will indeed start.
While I have a recent system partition image file I could restore from, it would seem if others are seeing this then there isn't much point, the problem would probably return when I did the patch.
Strangely, another W7 machine accepted both patches without a problem.

Crashing - New Installation InDesign CS 6 fully patched

I've just installed Adobe CS 6 Web and Design Premium on a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.5.
This computer uses Extensis Universal Type Server client 3.3.0.
Immediately following the installation and patching, InDesign crashes following launch when any tool is choosen.
It's consistent and reproducible.
I've removed InDesign preferences, ensured that there are no problems with the Mac (Disk Repair, Disk Permissions, etc.),
applied the icon issue patch.
At this point I'm thinking about uninstalling altogether and reinstalling the CS6 suite.
Any help would be appreciated. This is one install out of about 20 with similar configurations.
There rest of the installations went smoothly.
Side note - Adobe , please don't tell me hold time will be 5-8 minutes when it's over 30.

To isolate if this is Universal type Server issue, you'd have to drag the autoactivation plugin out of the Plug-ins folder. On mac this would be on the following location: /Applications/Adobe InDesign CS6/Plug-ins/Text/. Quit InDesign. Navigate to the location mentioned earlier and drag the auto activation plug-in from there to desktop. Re-launch InDesign and test for crash. You can also use the Extensions Manager to Find the auto activation plugin by choosing InDesign from the left panel of Extensions Manager and then look for the autoactivation plugin on the right panel. Upon finding the autoactivation plugin select it and click Remove.

Running Yosemite, printing to xerox c75 digital press. InDesign will send a file to the printer, then crashes every time. I know there was a patch for this problem. Where do I find it?

Yes, I have Fiery Hot Folders Console. That is certainly an alternative that should work as I can then avoid having to choose Fiery Features from the print dialog box in order to choose the paper tray and other features I need.
I am about to try a clean install of OS 10.9.3, and I am not the least bit happy about it. Adobe CC is my main set of go-to applications for my work, and those are the only applications that give me ANY problems with printing. I have forked out real money on different versions since I started using Adobe in the late 1990's, and my troubles seem to increase with every new release.

The Adobe update patch from 7.01 to 7.0.1.508 GERMAN seems to be buggy.
Installation fails constantly. Without a error message, that would help.
Other users seem to have the same problems as been posted on different forums.
When will there be a working update patch?
Did someone find a solution?

Adobe support hotline suggested to re-install inDesign CS5 without de-installing. Running Install from DVD (only InDesign).
Run InDesign CS5. Go to help, search for update, run update.
