Indication the field with letters
I have varchar field, when its value could be string of letters, numbers and combination of letters and numbers.
In the application, I need to get List or any indication if there is at least one field with letter.
I solved it by setting the ReadAllQuery with SqlString which using the 'to_number' function on the field and than I catch the exception on the 'to_number'.
My question:
There is another way to solved it (by Expression)
If you can tell me how you would accomplish this in SQL, I might be able to help you better with it.
Your current solution sounds like a pretty innovative way. The only other way that I can think of is to write a stored procedure to do it and call that from TopLink.

But i have a create button and cancel button.
After filling the details in the required columns, when i click the create button, if any validation errors are there.. the page is re-rendered. while doing that the hidden items are getting displayed back.
Tried Solutions:
1. I created a same function once more and in the last added the doSubmit('CREATE') and called the script from the create button.
At that time the hidden fields labels are getting displayed.
2. I created a process On load before header To call this script on a condition :REQUEST = 'CREATE'
Then also fruitless..
I hope now it is clear....

1.i create the list and put the internal number for each persone
now I have another list that customized it with InfoPath 2010
I want in the form when the user inter the internal number in it's field the field that is for the person appeared itself
I create the data connection and filter the field with display name
and when preview the form ir works but in the sharepoint list it doese'nt work when I filter it with the field=[me]
and when preview the form in InfoPath after the display name there is 3 #
and I thins these # is the problem

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to fill automatically the person column in the second list based on the internal number.
I did a test as the followings:
Create a list called ListA, and add two column: internal number(single line of text), person(Person&Group).
Add some items into the ListA.
Create another list called ListB, and add two column: internal number(single line of text), personB(Person&Group).
Customize ListB with InfoPath, and click the column “internal number”.
Set a rule for the column as the screenshot.
After the above, I tested in ListB, it worked well.
Then I set a filter personB=[me], it also worked well.
Please have a try as my steps, compare the result.

? using multiple approval signatures, each locking the fields with collections
Having fun with LiveCycle to make a "signoff" sheet that will allow a customer to request a "new product" with a PDF form. Once that information is added to our EDR (Eng Design Request) form, I want the form to be forwarded to multiple departments, where each department manager adds their name, date, comments, and then signs the document and forwards it to the next manager. I have it set up with "locking" a "collection fields" with each signature, and that is cool to lock their comments to thier signature, such that someone else can't change their comments without first "clearing" their signature field... just what I wanted, cool,, taking it a step further, I wanted to have the original product data protected such that once signed by one, or more managers (Eng, Sales, President), that the data was locked unless all signatures were cleared. I tried this first by including the product definition fields in every signature's "collection of fields" (set to lock after signing). Thought that would be the ticket, pretty pumped to try it, but once I clear one signature, example the "Eng manager signature" I can go in and mess with the specs and then re-sign the document, and the other signatures are still there, thought I have to clear them, not good,,, 2nd try, I then tried to lock the preceeding "signature field" itself with the next signature (added "sig0" to "sig1" collection) and that worked once, but fell apart on the third approval, as clear one signature openned things right up, when it shouldn't have. Anyway, has anyone found a way to have an approval signoff sheet where once signed the data fields are locked unless all the signature(s) are cleared. I think the programming is not handing multiple locks on the sme field properly, ie all locks on that field must be removed for that field to become editable,, There may be a better way to tackle this..
PS, I have really learned to be cautious when saving the form out of LiveCyle, then renaming it and save out or "Pro" with read permisions enabled, then see if "Reader" can open it,,, if U R not carefull you get and error that the "document has changed and reader can't save, contact the author,,," that was scary as I had to surf through lots of old revs to find one that would work again, something salvagable without going back to MSWord,,,
Thanks for your help...I think I found a way to get it to do what I want,,,
1) Use the first signature collection lock to lock only the fields that that person is signing-off on.
2) The next manager then signs off and locks only his comments and text boxes, as well as the signature of the preceeding manager. This way text fields are only locked by one signature collection and thus to edit anything you have to clear that manager's signature to edit the related text boxes, then to re-sign that section you must clear the other (higher level) signatures to open up the signature field for resigning,,, I think this is providing the protection I want,,, Yea,,, let's get this form back into our stupid ISO system ;) -
Pbm in updating the fields with the MODE change (display/change) in VL02N

I want to change the delivery quantity and picked quantity in VL02N transaction. But those fields are in editable mode for some delivery document numbers and those are in DISABLE mode for some delivey document mode in VL02N transactions. So i could not ablt to edit the quantity if it is in disable mode...
can anyone tell me why the fields are in disable mode in vl02n transaction?

How the "Post Goods Issue" tab ?? Is it in editable mode or it is also in grey mode ?? If it is in grey mode, then goods issue have been posted and you cannot change.

How do I count/add fields with numbers and fields with letters?
This is an attendance calendar I'm making for my work.
Cells in CLIENT A column will be marked with either a number ( >0, indicating how many hours attended) or a letter (A = absent, H = Holiday).
I need 2 formulas/scripts I suppose:
1) I would like cell DP1 to represent how many cells in the CLIENT A column are marked only with a number >0 -indicating how many days were attended, not how many total hours there are.
2) I would like cell DA1 to represent how many cells in the CLIENT A column are marked only with the letter A -indicating how many days were not attended.Let's say there are 20 fields in the column. In that case you can use these scripts:

Adding fields with data type "TIMS" to the BP transaction

This is Anil regarding the addition of fields to the BP transaction.
here my problem is for BP transaction I could not find any BADI or screen exit to add the fields. Even EEWB tool does not allow us to cretate the fields with data type "TIMS". so could you please suggest any other way to add these fields to BP?

BUT000 table also?

Anil .In the physical layer, Column Properties change the data type to int.
If still problem exists, In the Business Model, write a case statement like
case when column1=1 then 1 end
and apply count aggregation on the new calculated column,add the column to presentation table, use that new calculated column for report.

HCM F&P - How to set the field as Required based on drop down values
Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to set the Date field as mandatory when a particular value is selected in drop down list. I have already tried with MessageBox though it displays the error message but process moves further i.e. on clicking Check & Send button it throws an error message but still it moves further and i can see only Send button. Ideally it should halt there itself.

Yes, we can definately control this from the backend but that would be the last option i should execute. Ideally, this is something to be controlled in front end itself

By setting the field attrbiute Required will set the field mandatory as a whole irrespective of drop down values or any other UI element.

Hi friends, I need to send POST values to a external URL from APEX application to proccess a credit card and later receive the POST values to save the transaction, also the fields require have a personalized name, APEX create the field with standar names properly from APEX.

Libio BalbinI'm assuming you mean that you will be posting your page form to an external URL. This also means that the items in the form will need to have the element name be a certain name expected by the external URL. Look at Re: item name isn't what i specified to how to do this.
Basically, in the page HTML Header add a javascript function to change the name of the page items and then change the submit to go to the external website. Add to the On Load section to call the javascript when the page is loaded. -

Using DD03L (in SE16, SQVI) you can list the tables & structures which contain the desired field.
(If it's a very common field [e.g. MATNR] you'll get a huge amount of hits...you can also use 'F1' + 'Technical information' [in the transacton you are] to get information on table & field as mentioned before)

Do like this.
1. Go to SE11 -> give your table name and press on change button .
2.Go to Menu->Utilities-> Table Maintainance Generator , then it will take you another screen .
3.Assign Functin group if already have one , other wise create function group and assign
4.Go to Menu->Environment->Modification->Events , again it will take you to another screen
5.Click on new entries
->Now press F4 in T column . Select<u> "01" - Before saving the data in the database</u> and in form routinue give any name of the routinue like "SAVE_USER_DATA" and press enter then u can see an editor symbol in next column click on that it will take you ABAP editor there type this code .
ztable-username = sy-uname.
ztable-createtime = sy-uziet.
check and activate the code .
With this your job will be complete . Now while entering data just leave columns blank , they will insert corresponding username and time

All fields with !Format event blank when printing
A client asked for assistance creating a new shipping label template with Adobe Output Designer 5.5, a program I've not used before. I had no problem creating the layout, and slapping the necessary fields on there (they had a few other templates I was able to use as examples). When I use Test Presentment from within Output Designer, the results look great - all the data fields and barcodes show up fine. When actually printing a label from Prophet 21, all the fields with !Format events defined are completely missing. I copied many of these !Formats from existing templates and adjusted them slightly to match the new label format, so I'm not sure why all those fields in the new template end up blank. I haven't made any changes to the default template preamble, which I've included below. What simple detail am I overlooking that's needed to make this work? Like I said, this is not a program I have much familiarity with, and a couple hours of experimenting and searching the web have proved fruitless.
