Info required on load testing the portal

Dear friends,
We are working on EP 7.0.
I have the how to guide on load testing. What I need is the ideal values to which the various test results must tend. I mean I want the specific number values which can be reasonable for optimum system performance.
Regards,
Pawan.

There are two meaning to this
ex- material A and product B
In the BOM of B, A is assigned as a BOM component
1. Material (A)is not costed at all
2. If the material (A) in question is costed wih error, then give a warning message or error message when costing its product B.
I hope you are clear.

  • How  to find time taken any  portal component to load into the  portal

    Hi
We have MSS business package implement in Nw04 sp18 portal. Some of MSS forms taking so much time to load.so
    1. is there any way to test the time taken by each of the  form?
    2. In Portal how to measure the time taken by the each request?
3.How to improve the performance of MSS adobe forms?
    Regards

    Hi Gopal,
You can use HTTPWatch to determine the time taken by each form to load as well as the portal request time. Also check this documentation. This should apply to MSS also.

I used YourKit on a project about a year ago. I've used a few other profilers and this one was the simplest to install, configure, and use in my opinion. I was doing basic CPU profiling of a WebLogic Portal application on my machine using YourKit within about a few hours of learning of the existence of YourKit. I used it to find performance bottlenecks and it did the job.

  • Need JAR files for load testing the dicoverer plus 9.0.4

I am able to capture the Applet events in oracle discoverer plus 9.0.4 using loadrunner. But i am not able to replay the script. For replaying the script it needs some jar files to be included in the classpath. Source.jar,Xmlparserv2.jar,inner.jar and remoteclient.jar files. I am not able to find out the source.jar and remoteclient.jar in server.
Any one help me out to get all these jar files with complete stuff to include in classpath and replay that is run the script in loadrunner.
i need these jar files urgently. Version is discoverer plus 9.0.4

    Hi, Bhushan and all!!
I have the dll's needed for the connection:
    - GxSiebelBridge.dll
    - Interop.SiebelApplicationServer.dll
    - Interop.SiebelBusObjectInterfaces.dll
    - Interop.SiebelDataServer.dll
Tell me if you want it. You can implement these dll's with JNI (Java Native Interface).
I need the jars, too. If anyone have it, please send me.

  • CDN - Request Limits and Load Testing

I need to choose a CDN service to deliver static content for an ASP.NET web application. The content is mostly videos, flash files and images.
    1. Does the Azure CDN have an explicit or implicit throughput limit in terms of Requests per Second or Megabits per Second? (e.g. AWS CloudFront has a published default limit of 1000Mbps, which can be increased on request)
    2. I have a requirement to load test the ASP.NET web application which links the static content from CDN. Is there any threshold number of concurrent requests for videos (~10 MB size, 500Kbps bit rate) that the Azure CDN would allow to be tested through
lets say Visual Studio Online load testing service?
    Thanks.

  • WebAS access via Portal: Web Dispatcher required for load balancing ABAP

    Hi Folks -
We have EP 6.0 SP18 (Java only, WebAS 6.40, Unix/Solaris).  The portal has a CI/SCS and one DI so we have a Web Dispatcher to load balance the portal servers. This works fine (and provides port 80 access).
This portal will provide access to HTTP services from an ABAP WebAS (6.20 with 6.40 kernel, Unix/Solaris). A landscape configuration entry has been added to the portal for this ABAP system. The ABAP system has a CI and multiple app servers, all capable of handling HTTP requests.  This will also require port 80 access.
    1. Will we need an additional Web Dispatcher to load balance HTTP requests to the 'backend' ABAP WebAS system, or will the portal be smart enough to handle the load balancing itself (perhaps based on the information in the landscape configuration)?
    2. If the portal itself handles the HTTP load balancing can you point me to documentation (so I can make sure I have proper configuration)?
    3. Are there any changes to this with NW2004s Portal (we plan to upgrade soon)?
    Thanks in advance!  Jeff

    Jeff,
    Regarding:
Q1. If you create a system object from the "SAP system with load balancing" template in portal and configure the object to point to your CI (msg server), the LB should be handled.
Q2. Portal load balancing is handled by the message server.  If you point a test URL to the port of your message server, you will notice that you are issued a redirect the URL of your dialog instance.  The web dispatcher is just a proxy (with some intelligence).  When a request is made to the WD, it makes a connection to the MSG server, the list of active instances is queried, a redirect is made to that instanct.  If you use WD, that connection can be proxied behind a standard URL.   If you connect directly to the MSG Server instead, you will notice your URL change, just as it does on the service marketplace.
WDs are good for providing services, masked (proxied) behind virtual names.  If you do not want the customer to see a physical URL of the server, use the WD.  There are lots of other solutions that can do this too though such as Apache, ISA, Juniper devices, Cisco LDs.  WDs have a very low performance threshold though, especially if you use SSL. WD is a performance bottleneck and should be benchmarked to see if it is right for your application.
Q3. No changes this architecture in 04s.

  • Portal Load Testing

We are implementing ESS in the SAP Portal.  We are on ECC 6.0.  We are looking into load testing our portal.  We are currently trying to use the IBM Rational Performance Tester, but we are having difficulties.
What tools do other companies use for load testing their portal?
    Thanks!

    hi,
We have installed Wily's Introscope for load testing. Although it is not a specific EP testing tool, it can be used.
Load Runner can also be used for load testing.

  • Load-testing Forms Services

Any suggestions on how to load test a Forms Services (9.0.4) system to see how well an application scales? I was wondering if there is an approach I can use to load-testing the applets that doesn't require purchasing a full-blown Loadrunner license...

    Hi Steven,
You should try NeoLoad to load-test Oracle Forms apps.
NeoLoad is a load-testing software for Web apps provided by the Neotys company.
NeoLoad decodes the Forms communication between the client and the server. It shows instead a nice XML page where all parameters can be read and modified.
Afterwards, while the load-test is being played, the information is sent back to the server in the Oracle Forms format.
As for the load itself, no worries, NeoLoad handles thousands of simultaneous virtual users.
You can give try, a free trial version is avalaible on the Neotys website: http://www.neotys.com/product/download-neoload.html.
You'll find useful information on the website to start the evaluation.
Here is the page related to the Oracle Forms technology: http://www.neotys.com/product/technologies-oracle-forms-load-testing.html.
And here is a flash demo that shows in detail how NeoLoad works against an Oracle Forms app.
Take also some time to read this testimonial from "American TV": http://www.neotys.com/references/success/load-testing-americantv.html. It tells how NeoLoad helped them to carry out a great load testing campaign.
Really hope it helps you testing your Oracle Forms app.
    Olivier.

  • Siebel CTI configuration and CTI load testing

Our project requires Siebel CTI configuration and CTI load testing.
In order to test Siebel application without CTI we use Load runner for load testing but it dosn't suit for Siebel CTI.
Could you please give us any advice about testing tools and metodology for load-testing the SIEBEL CTI integrated with Genesys?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,
I'm Paul from Neotys. We've just released a new version of NeoLoad our load testing tool, with a dedicated module for Siebel testing (http://www.neotys.com/product/technologies-siebel-load-testing.html).
As you know, Siebel apps have a particular encoding of parameters in HTTP. With this new module, NeoLoad is automatically handling their correlation.
This should simplify your design of test scripts.
You can download it from our website (http://www.neotys.com) and give it a try.
I'll be happy to get your feedback!
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Load testing of Web ADI in EBS R12

    Hi,
I am currently testing Oracle E-Business Suite R12. Has anyone load tested the Web ADI integrator for Oracle EBS R12? What tool did you use?
Did you use QTP or Oracle ATS functional testing? I was not able to do a POC using LoadRunner or OATS load test tool.
Basically Web ADI is an integration that allows data to be uploaded/downloaded between Oracle EBS R12 and local excel.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • How can i set different number of iterations for different scenario profiles that we add to "AutoPilot" in load testing of OATS

    Hi,
I have few set of load test scenarios, I would like to add each of these test scenarios to "AutoPilot" and run each different scenario profile at different number of iterations.
As in Oracle Load Testing the "Set Up AutoPilot" tab I see  a section like this "Iterations played by each user: ", which says run these many iterations for every virtual user of all profile added under "Submitted Profile Scenario". So is there any thing like that to set different iterations for every scenario profile added in Autopilot.
    Thanks in advance

It's not a built-in feature to override a page's styles on a tab-by-tab or site-by-site basis, but perhaps someone has created an add-on for this?
It also is possible to create style rules for particular sites and to apply them using either a userContent.css file or the Stylish extension. The Greasemonkey extension allows you to use JavaScript on a site-by-site basis, which provides further opportunity for customization. But these would take time and lots of testing to develop and perfect (and perfection might not be possible)...
Regarding size, does the zoom feature help solve that part? In case you aren't familiar with the keyboard and mouse shortcuts for quickly changing the zoom level on a page, this article might be useful: [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]].

  • How to make new jars available globally on the portal to all projects?

    Hello,
I have downloaded few jar files which are needed for few projects and aren't comming with the portal by default.
I would like to make these jars available globally to every project I will write in the future. What is the exact procedure I need to do on the portal server in order to acheive this?
    Regards,
    Roy

I've been playing around with this as well (in combination with NWDI).
You need to consider what should happen if you ever have an update of the "common" jar-files that you are adding. They might break some of the portal apps that use them, so it's not a good solution to use a J2EE Library DC if you know there will be updates in the future. If you're sure there will be no updates, this is indeed the simplest way to implement this. All you need to do is to specify a PrivateSharingReference for the portal apps as explained here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/88/bdfc3f48ecc742e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
The 2nd available option (based on NWDI) is to create an External Library DC and add your jars to that. Create an extra public part for assembly (next to the existing public part for compilation called ExternalLibs). Then, for each portal app DC add the External Library DC as a used DC, create an assembly public part and add an Entity Reference to the assembly public part of the External Library DC. This way the jars will be assembled in the PAR file for each portal app. The nice thing is that you are still maintaining the jar files in one central place, but that you have the option to update and test the portal apps individually.
