Info view Timeout. [RCIRAS0244]

Hi,
I am running report in the InfoView. My SQL query execute time is about 20-30 minutes. (I have checked it in the "Oracle SQL developer" and "PLSQL Developer")
I get this error when I try to run a Crystal report in Infoview:
Timeout. [RCIRAS0244]
It takes too long to execute the query.
"Crystal Reports Cache Server" timeout is 60min
"Crystal Reports Processing Server" timeout is 60min

Symptom
Error: RCIRAS0244 and RCIRAS0567 in Event Viewer in BusinessObjects Enterprise R2 SP4.
Cause
RCIRAS0244 This occurs when the request times out.
RCIRAS0567 This occurs when a worker thread in the procserver (parent) timesout waiting for a request to return from a procserver (child).
It is a situation where a request is going to a child process, that child either hangs, or exceeeds the maximum request timeout time to process the request so the request times out (in each of the tiers) and core thinks the child needs to be terminated.
Resolution
Go to Start Menu> Run> Type "regedit".
Modify the registry (DWORD values):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\RAS21\Instances\<fcCacheInstanceName>\MemoryUsedLimitInPercent
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\RAS21\Instances\<fcCacheInstanceName>\EntrySizeLimitInKo
Save the changes.
For the following example:
MemoryUsedLimitInPercent=80
EntrySizeLimitInKo=2048
NOTE:- These settings mean that if the amount of memory used (physical) on the machine is less than 80% and the size of the current entry is less than 2048 KB, Fcproc will put the current entry in memory cache.
By default, these registry entries do not exist. In this case the default values are
MemoryUsedLimitInPercent=70
EntrySizeLimitInKo=2048

Converted Crystal Report Not Executing in Info View

We are in the process of testing BOXI3.1 sp2 fix pack 2.8. The problem we are having was not occurring in BOXI rel2.
After saving a Crystal Report developed with version 11.5.0.313 using CR2008, the report was run successfully within Crystal Reports. I'm assumming that the report was converted to 2008 format due to saving the report.
The report was then saved into the repository from Crystal Reports. After logging into Info View the report was scheduled. The report that normally returns results in less than 5 seconds from Crystal just hung in Info View. After 4 hours the the task was cancelled. Even though Info View presented that the report was "running", there ws NO thread started with the database. This was confirmed by our DBA
The report was rewritten from scratch using CR2008. This report was able to execute to import this report
to Info View without error.

Before I read your response, I tried tweaking my reports and was able to resolve the issue.
Steps taken to solve the issue are the following:
a. Value not showing one field of four (4) reports.
Solution: I created new ones and integrate it in VB 6. The values are now showing. Tweaked on the line object properties, got a problem with the extended line but solved it by adjusting the height of the detail section.
b. Value not showing in sub-report.
Solution: My report used a shared variable so I can pass the condition to my sub-report. I used the new reports and just pass a query during runtime. The values in the subreport is still not showing. I added a formula and called the value in it. Values in the subreport is now showing.
I'll try to update the crystal reports version as suggested at a later time.

Info view not recognizing correct processor family

pc wizard 2004 recognizes my processor as a Thoroughbred core but info view recognizes it as a duron processor. whats the problem here? could it be the bios or something?

Info View Public Folder not displayed

I have installed BO XI r2 and have configured two users in the CMC within a development environment with 35 named licenses. When i start Info View and log in as a new user the Public Folder is not displayed only Inbox and the Personal folder. Anybody know why the Public folders are not displayed. Permissions?
I have not changed any settings for Admin or Everyone and setup the new user by adding them to an existing group with full control.

It's a permissions issue most likely, you need to give the Group this users belong to minimum View rights on the Root folders.
go to CMC>Folders>Rights

Recreation of Info-Views as Business Views

Hello,
We have been running reports on Crystal 7 (Seagate Info 7) and have installed BOXI R2 and managed to migrate the reports to Crystal XI. Just not sure if we have done this in the most effective way and if issues can arise from how we have set up the data sources.
There was no direct migration tool to bring the reports onto the new system. Moreover, we work on a Baan IV database and have had some issues trying to use the Universe Module and so have are using Business Views.
The old reports were using info-views, we recreated the these info-views as business views on BOXI. In doing so, we made a data foundation including all tables and links as to accommodate for the tables needed by the all of the info views. From there, we created appropriate business elements, specifying the fields used. And finally, the respective business views. By changing the datasource (Database -> Set datasource location) we were able to use the same reports as before but through the business views.
We put all of the tables and linked them inside of the same data foundation. We figured the benefit was that in the case we needed to create new business views that we would have access to any table we wanted. So the question is, does this lower the performance (take longer to run reports) or possibly cause problems with data integrity? Should we have migrated the reports another way?

I am configuring the SNC settings now.
BI is 64 bit
Bobj is 32 bit non IA server.
During this process I need to install Win 32 bit sap crypto lib in my system. After that there are profile settings in BI which need to be made which conflict with the existing SSO configuration:
Current settings in default profile:
snc/identity/asp:SAPServiceDB1@domain name snc/gssapi_lib        C:\WINDOWS\ime(x86)\gx64krb5.dll
New parameters to be created in the instance profile as described in the BOBJ documentation:
snc/identity/asp:CN=DB1, OU=SAP, O=domain name, C=US
      snc/gssapi_lib E:\usr\sap\DB1\SYS\exe\run\sapcrypto.dll
The main issue with be the library dll.
One more thing.
The SAP crypto library nees to be installed on the SAP server (64bit) and the BOBJ server (32bit). I was unable to locate a 32bit version for Windows x86. There is a x86/IA32 version but unknown if this is
compatible.
The IA32 reference is usually specific to itanium servers which we do not have.
Please advice.

FREE SPACE : To find the size of the report on INFO VIEW.

We have recently started using BO XI R2.Could anybody please let us know how to find the size of reports from INFO VIEW ?
Please find a brief of the situation we are currently encountering
We use the web portal " INFOVIEW PROD " to access all the reports in BO. However, the all these reports are stored on the E drive of a production machine . Now the E drive has reached 80% of its capacity and we need to free some space . We cannot delete files directly from E drive of the machine as it stores reports merely on the basis of numbers .The other option is to delete the unused reports from web portal. However , we are talking about 1000's of reports.Also , from the INFO VIEW we are not able to determine the size of the report to delete based on size and unusability.
We would like some input on how to tackle this issue.

Well that's really surprising to see that you have recently started using XIR2 since this is already an end of life product from SAP Business Objects.
Well nevertheless there is an option to check these details.
There is tool known as "Query Builder" in BOE
The direct URL to start this is: - http://<servername>:<port>/AdminTools/querybuilder/ie.jsp
and provide below query: -
select SI_ID, SI_NAME,SI_FILES,SI_SIZE from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_KIND='Webi' Order BY SI_SIZE DESC
SI_ID: - ID of the infoobject.
SI_NAME: - name of the object
Under SI_FILES you will get SI_PATH which will tell you the location from IFRS
SI_SIZE: will tell you the size.
But I would like to highlight one thing you need to check the instances of the document as well.
Don't just start deleting everything, it can create more problems with the system.
Take the backup of IFRS, OFRS and CMS DB as well.
My reply is just to tell how you can find the webi document according to size and IFRS path

Accessing BO Info View in Portal

Hi,
Iam trying to access BO Info View in Portal.for that i created URL iview but iam facing issue.
I am able to call BO info view from Portal. problem is if preview that url iview from portal content it is working fine but if i attach that url iview to role it is not entering to info view .
Parameters passed in that URL iview:
Sap system
Sap client
Language
please help on this issue.

My question is the parameter screen displaying in my local machine BOE server is different and Development BOE Server it's different. Is there any configuration for Parameter screen in web.xml file or other. Kindly give me the Solution.

Adding History list and saved reports to info view toolbar

We want to write a new u201CJSPu201D program to display a new info view toolbar with an option to view saved reports and another option to view history list of reports .
Is it possible to use Bobj java api and add this functionality to all the reports?

Adding functionality to Infoview may be possible, but there is no documentation on how to do this as it is not supported.
For creating your own application, I would suggest looking at the [samples|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/JavaBusinessObjectsEnterpriseSDKSamples] and [developer guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/boesdk_java_dg_12_en.zip].

quick question, in msi info viewer should the cpu tab read ' number of processors 2 ' ?? at the moment it is 1.
as i am using a dual core chip!! i can see all the details if using cpu-z, the reason why im asking
is how can i tell if windows is seeing both cores of the cpu??

First forget MSI's cute utils as often they simply don't operate well. They are made for many systems yes but they don't always work well.
Best to chack with CPUz to see if both cores are working or in Task Manager as it will show you a graph for each CPU if Windows sees both cores.
If you can still see just one core then check device manager. Under the CPU area you should not see uniprocessor. If that is what is shown then delete it and restart Windows. It should then plug and play a Multi Processor driver and you should be good to go.

How to add custom action in info view

We want to add link to each report which redirects user to our page. So far we have found: On InfoView page, there is listing of info objects(reports, hyperlink, programs) - listing.aspx. Actions for each object is defined in object AppActionBean. (actionBeans = Utilities.getActionBeans(config, MainIdentity.EnterpriseSession, MainIdentity.InfoStore, realObj))Based on action bean collection, page generates links with action appropriate for this kind of plugin. Especially destination url is genereated using AppAction.Path.Unfortunatelly AppAction construtcor is internal, so we cannot add our action this way. Is it possible to add custom action, to display hyperlink, which redirects user to our page with report ID as url parameter? 

In CE10 we were able to add a new link by editing the xml files. I assume it would work the same in XI, the xml files are located here ...\Web Content\Enterprise115\appplugins\webdesktop\Plugins\

Access denied to info view

Hi,
When I preview the iView(Url iview to infoview) in the content admin it works. but when i try to view the infoview when assigned to the role, then it doesn't work.

To see the latest instance of a report automatically you can change the default from view to view latest instance.
CMC > Applications > Infoview and select View the latest successful instance of the object
Then when you double click on the report, it will open the latest instance.
BUT if the report doesn't have an instance, eg only be run manually not via the schedule, the report won't open. You have to right click and select view.
I've seen either here or in another forum that in XI 2 it will automatically open the report if it doesn't have an instance but in XI 3.1 it doesn't.

Some Song Info Lost When Played or Info Viewed

I've only noticed this on one song so far, but it's driving me crazy. Whenever this song plays, or I click "Get Info" the artwork and number of tracks on the album for that song are lost. (So under track, it goes from saying "5 of 12" to "5".) I had no idea what to search for exactly as far as past posts, anyone had this problem?

If TidyMP3 doesn't fix it, then it's some deeper problem with your system. TidyMP3 strips a file to the bone. It takes away all tags, of any type whatsoever. It works by simply removing everything that isn't a music frame from the file. What's left is just totally bare. Then, when you use iTunes to add tags, you're working with the cleanest possible file.
So if Tidying the file still causes problems, you have some deeper problem. The file isn't writable or some other program is reworking the tags and eliminating the artwork, or something else. This is not an iTunes problem or a problem with the file. There must be some third factor at work.

Session management in Info View with two different logins using single sign

There is a form with 2 user logins UserA and User B to redirect to infoview with sso in my application. I am able to go to each of the Infoview pages successfully but have the following problem.
User A logs in and infoview opens in a new IE window and sees his/her folders based on permissions and is able to do his/her work for the first time.
User B logs in andand infoview opens in a new IE window sees his/her folders based on permissions and is able to do his/her work for the first time.
After a while when User A tries to access the InfoView in the previously opened IE Window, he/she gets an error message. An error has occurred: The object with ID 2519 does not exist in the CMS or you don't have the right to access it.
User B is able to continue his/her work. Who ever logs in the last, he/she is able to continue his/her work but the other one gets an error.
Please let me know on how to address this issue . I added logonToken and tried everything at my hand but no success. Is this session controlled by business objects or by the jsp page. What more changes are required for my jsp page to fix the error. Attached below are the form and the applogon.jsp snippets.
