Infoset as Datasource in APO for BW

Hello Gurus,
Need some help in creating infoset in APO and used it in BW as Datasouce,
I have created a Infoset in APO using T code SQ02.added 4 tables and the genrate.
After that i have replectated in BW source system but this datasource in not reflected in BW.
Can you pleas guide me what i have done is correct or some addictional steps need to be done.
and also some one can send me some documents on infoset in APO or ERP  tha would be great help.
Thank in Advance
Regards.

Have you created a generic datasource on the infoset you created?
In Generic datasource creation(RSO2) in 'Extraction from Query' option you can give the infoset name and create a generic datasource. This datasource can be replicated into BW by selecting replicate in Sourcesystem.

How can I create the 'web service' datasource?... should the 'logical system' be the connected XI system?

You will require to create source System for Web Service Folder - Where you will require to maintain Logical System Name, Source System Name,  Type and Release

    Christopher,
There seems to be no extract strucutre available for this data source in quality. This is creating the problem in quality. The extract strucutre which is created in your scenario would be available in temp folder and that will not be availbale for transport, so you need to have the datasource generated in quality and then you transport the active version to quality so that it will be available with the changes as that of development.

  • Datasources in APO

Hello, Does anyone know how to create a datasource in APO system?  I assume it is different than creating one in R/3.
    Thanks,

    Hi.....
    APO - BW Adhoc Reporting
Steps to be performed in APO client.
    (Prerequisite: existing sales cube)
Create Export Datasource for Planning Area :
SAP Easy Access Menu => DP => Environment => Current Settings
=> Administration of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning
Specify which fields you wish to be selectable later for reporting purposes.
Don´t forget the field ?Version" (/BI0/9AVERSION)
      Replicate Metadata
    Create Infosource
Assign Source system and data source
Maintain transfer structure and communication structure
    Create Remote Cube
    Assign Source system
Create Multicube (based on sales cube and remote cube)
Create your  reports with BEX according to the your requirements.
In case of APO we use Export datasource.....
Export datasource is used when you want to use BW system as a source system. If you want to send data from one datatarget to other data target within BW system then we go for export data source. right click on the target and say export data source and then go to source system tab
right click on Myselof source system and say replicate data source..then you will find datasource with prefix 8.

  • Infoset as datasource for segmentation

    Hi,
When I create a datasource of type Infoset, I entered name of the infoset as CRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR, but there is a field Business Partner, should I enter BUT000-PARTNER (BP No.) or BUT000-PARTNER-GUID (BP GUID) in it? What is the difference between the two?
    Regards,
    Monica

    Hi Monica,
You have to set in this field this: <b>BUT000-PARTNER</b>, this is the number of the partners u are going to filter in the segment builder.
The <b>BUT000-PARTNER_GUID</b> is a field that is a identifier (like an id for the tables) of a partner. In CRM the guid is an identifier of a product, a partner in this case, a document, an order...
For example, the product has a guid also, product_guid.
    Hope it helps.

  • APO/BW: Creating datasource in BW for APO

    Hi
    1. In creating a datasource (in BW) to be used in APO by righting on the cube in question and selected the option “Generate export Data Source”. It created a datasource 8CubeName, which
could be found under the InfoSource tree in BW. At this point, will APO see 8CubeName?
    2. Where in  BW do we specify that it should go to APO? What if there are other systems which can also use this same datasource and how do we specify which one?
    3. I also understand that update rules can be created on APO side, if so, what becomes of the updated rule created on the BW end? In other words, if update rules are applied on the APO side, and also applied on the cube on BW side, what happens?
    4. Ok, so if I understand it right, this process creates a structure for datasource in BW, which is seen on APO DP. But which process actually pushes data from BW to APO DP?
    Thanks

    Hi Amanda,
I believe most of your questions will be answered by understanding that inside APO/SCM itself there is BW system, that works just like the BW that you had worked and understand well, mostly the data staging from BW to and from APO are like interaction between 2 BW (datamart), now try RSA1 in your APO system
    1. Yes, APO will see the datasource after you replicated in APO from BW as source system; in APO we create source system with RSA1 like in BW, transfer application component (RSA9), this datasource will be displayed under 'Datamart'.
    2. It just like BW act source system for other BW system, we have no need to specify in BW which one to go, but in APO we will use this datasource to assign to infosource in APO
    3. Again in APO it just like a 'mini' BW there, so update rules in APO are indepedent used for APO-BW, nothing will happen to existing BW
    4. Create infosource in APO and assign datasource from BW, create infopackage.
You can use process chain as well, yet in APO we have more process type (specific for APO usage like generate CVC, adjust time series, etc)

  • Can you run deltas off of an Infoset query datasource?

    Hey Gurus of BW,
We had a consultant come in and setup an infoset datasource in R/3.  Then in BW set up that datasource as a feed into a cube using delta pulls.  The delta init pull pulls all the data, but then the deltas never pull any data.  Is this even possible?
    Thanks,  Ken

    Ken,
I think generic datasource created on Infoset.
Provide safety interval - lower limit as 1 for delta field(change date or creation date) & check.
Loading generic datasource data directly into cube(addition) may create a duplicate data. Due to safety interval every time it pulls data from last day to current.

  • InfoSet based DataSource

    Hello,
I created Data source(ZZ_PQR) based on Infoset (ZZ_XYZ) in ECC 6.0(R/3)
I clicked the selection option for Plant,Material,Period, Quantity in ZZ_PQR data source.
RSA3, I can able to see all selection options
I replicated ZZ_PQR data source in BI7.0 then I created InfoPackage under "Data Selection" tab I'm not seeing Quantity because of this i'm unable to extract the data Quantity<>0
    Why I'm not seeing Quantity?
Also, I'm getting time out error in BI. I look at the log
Error Message: "Job Terminated in Source system"
How to track this problem ?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Roshan,
check Quantity Field is available in datasource and Hide check box is unselected, if is is unselected that field will be available on BW side, data can be extracted for that field.
Error Message: "Job Terminated in Source system" this error may come when resources are not available to create request on source system or system is not available.

  • Infoset Query is not available for generic Extractor

    Hi,
I've created an infoset in SAP ECC with sq02. Then I've created an Infoset Query on top of this Infoset, because I wanted to exclude records with specific values. Now I want to use this Infoset Query (with the filter restrictions) in my generic DataSource. I can only chosse the Infoset, but not the InfoSet Query. Normally I use the filter in the InfoPackage, but neither IP nor DTP can exclude values with a pattern (f.e. exclude all record that contains a $ symbol in the string)
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks and regards,
    Sebastian

I agree with Jen, that BW side routines would work just fine.
If it is extractor performance you are worried about and that is why you want to build the $ exclusion in the select, then I would suggest just creating an extractor from scratch using a custom written function module.  It's actually very strait forward and provides many advantages over table/view/InfoSet based generic extractors.
I am not a fan of using InfoSets for generic extractors.. but you can create InfoSets based on a data read program in which case you code all the selects and whatnot.  But if you go that far with the InfoSet, why not just write the FM...
    Thanks

  • Forecast and consumption in APO for Third-party order processing

Has anyone tried to forecast in DP for the standard 3rd party order processing process in R3? The business wants to enter a forecast in DP, Release it to SNP and do planning as though it is a normal process. They also want the sales order entered in R3 to be passed to APO and consume the forecast. But, these sales orders with schedule line category CS don't transfer requirements and hence don't get passed to APO.
Has anyone tried any other workaround/process for this 3rd party drop ships? The standard 3rd party order process still needs to be used in R3 since it creates the Req when the sales order is entered and there is no GR on the PO nor any delivery created for the shipment to the customer. The Vendor ships the product directly to the customer and send an invoice to us. We then invoice the customer.
    Any help is appreciated.

None of the gurus have answered to this thread.
So let me share my experience.
The answer to your question would be NO- Unless someone has really a workaround which I suspect.
We did speak with SAP on the same requirement as yours and SAP came back saying NO- There is no standard SAP provided solution.
Having Schedule line category- CS which results in a Purch Req and also passng the requirement is an impossible task through standard SAP
I tried many ways - however in the R3 Schedule Line config, you can maintain only one of them- Either generating a requirement or a Purch Req.
<b>The workaround which I can think of- which your company might not agree:</b>
Maintain stock at your internal location and change the sales order type from third party processing to a standard order type.
As you will be forecasting for these materials, the requirements and receipts can be generated far out in the future and can be passed on to the vendor who will supply you in advance.
I know this is not an optimal solution- However I cannot think of any workaround
Just tried offering some inputs as no one else was responding
