Infoset report

Hi,
I have created a Infoset between ODS and Infoobject, with Characteristics A, B, C and the key Figures E, F,G.
A, E,F,G are from ODS.
B,C are from the Master data carrying Infoobject.
A is the common characteristic in both the ODS and the Infoobject.
When I right click on the Infoset and "display data", there are 2 records in the Infoset for the same value of A, even though there is only one record in ODS.
The report also shows 2 records against one record in ODS.
What could be the reason, please?

There are two ways to resolve it.
Make B & C as navigational attributes of A and assign the same in DSO. No need to create an InfoSet.
Secondly, since only one field is common and the key figures are in DSO only, thats why you are getting two rows for each record.
ensure that the field mapping is proper.
It would be better to use the navigational attributes of the master data instead of creating InfoSet as it will be good from performance point of view.

I am facing the problem in ODS infoset report.
Consider the two ODS (ie ODS1,ODS2)

Here A is the Keyfield of ODS A (all A,B, Sal1 are infoobjects).

Here B is the Keyfield of ODS B.
I have joined two ODS using Infoset.
Joining condition: OSD A(charactersitics B ie value 10) joined with Keyfield of ODS B(ie B value 10)
While exectuing the Report i am getting the following output.
B Sal1 Sal2
10 30,000 8000(wrong data)
Sal2 is summed twice since in ODS A it is having 2 records.
My requirement is i wnat O/P as
B Sal1 Sal2
10 30,000 4000

If you create a multiprovider with the two ODS you wont have this problem.

Infoset Reporting Problem

HI,
I have created a infoset with Sales Order, Delivery, Purchasing and GDP Forecast ODS based on Material and Plant Join.
I am supposed to display the data from Sales as well as GDP Demand Year to Date and GDP Forecast values.
For Year to date I used some restricted key figure to get the correct values.
The values are calculated correctly when I do these RKF calculation on individual ODS. But when done on the infoset, these values multiply.
e.g For Material AA and Plant BB , correct value of Demand YTD is 12 Then in infoset it is displayed as 144.
I found out that for this material and plant combination I have 2 records in Sales ODS, 2 in Delivery ODS and 3 in Purchasing ODS.
so values is calculated as = 12 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 144.
Now my problem is How should I calculate the number of records from Sales, delivery , Purchasing for a given combination of Material/ Plant.
If these ODS had a single Key field or two Key field I would have been able to calculated number of records , using Exception aggregation on these variables , but Key fields are more than three for each of these ODS.
so I would like to know if there is any method to calculate the number of records from each ODS, which I can divide the calculated value of Demand YTD and get the correct result.

HR Custom InfoTypes problem when added to custom Infoset Report for PA

Hi, I am having an issue with the adhoc query /SAPQUERY/HR_ADM. I added the custom infotypes 9* I created to this standard infoset by using SQ02 and adding these by going into the menu path Edit--> Change InfoType selection. I regenerated this object and attached to a transport. The query runs fine in the DEV system where I made the change...I can choose fields for output or selection from the standard infotypes and custom infotypes as expected. I migrated this transport to the test system and now when I try to do the same thing I get an error when I try to click on any object in my custom infotype and some of the standard infotype. I tried regenerating and resending to the test system and still have the same issue. This is the error in the dump:

After further investigation I found the problem to this was in the generation of the objects. Even though I generated before attaching to a transport and all looked ok, there is some sort of bug causing it to not generate properly so I had to sign on to each environment and generate the object in SQ02 including in Production. After I did this the custom infotypes were accessible in the Infoset.

Problem connecting SAP IS-U (ECC 6.0) with Business Objects Edge 3.1

Dear all,
I'm trying to connect to a SAP ECC 6.0 System (SAP IS-U) with Business Objects 3.1 (for example with Crystal Reports). I have installed the SAP RFC SDK on the ECC server and have imported these transport files:
Open SQL reporting objects
InfoSet reporting objects
Row Level Security Tool
Security functions
Cluster Definition Editor
But CR keeps returning this error "You do not have the necessary rights to design reports against the SAP System". I've read a few threads about that problem here. I couldn't find a specific "ABAP transport" - did I miss to import anything else?
Is there any way to check whether the transport files work as they are supposed to? Like the MDX parser connection test for SAP Business Warehouse.
Any other suggestions?

Hi,
I read about these authorization tasks in some other thread, but didn't know what to do.
But now I found the auth. object in the transaction SU21.
Since I cannot edit SAP_ALL I created another profile in transaction PFCG (just in case someone else is still messing with that problem) and added all activities of ZSEGREPORT ans S_RFC.
After that I added the profile to the users in question.
Now everything works like a charm.

InfoCube design - high granularity by inclusion of document level detail

When considering the inclusion of sales document level detail in an infocube (0DOC_NUMBER/0S_ORD_ITEM), two possible high-level designs come to mind:
1. Make sales document number/sales order item master data carrying infoobjects and include in infocube as line item dimensions. Activate all necessary characteristic navigational attributes for reporting.
2. Model infocube dimensions to contain all necessary charactistics for reporting with inclusion of characteristics sales document number/sales order item therefore, fact table will have highest level of granularity.
Knowing the 'textbook' does not suggest the above designs, has anyone attempted maximum granularity in infocube design with success or otherwise? If successful, has this design outperformed DSO or InfoSet reporting performance?

Hi Brendan,
we have implemented both solutions; it all depends on the number of documents. if it is much more than 1 mio; I recommend storing your data in the target; if it is 1 or 2 mio you can have master data (more flexible).
We have some 4 mio records in 0MAT_PLANT and are starting having performance issues.
by the way; if you are using ORACLE, NEVER mark a dimension with high cardinality; that doesn't work.

Selection screen -Query

Hi Gurus:
I have a query which has selections form extars tab in the
infoset and one selection for language from the selection tab.
The problem is that when this selection in teh selection screen
from the selection tab is filled with no language(blank)
and run withoutselecting anyother selection it gives all teh result,
similaryly if I put in a language and in it and run it still shows up
witha ll the result. Actually I would like to see only thiose
materials with description for which the language is entered and not all .
Since this selection copmes from teh selection tab fo the infoset
its not filtering as required but the other selection criteria which
comes from teh extra tab does filter accordingly.
Could anyone sufggest as how tyo gho about doing it so
that it shows the result by filtering from this languiage criteria also.

In SQ02 create the info sets with 'program' options. provide the program name and the
Structure name FAGL_S_RFSSLD00_LIST also in SQ02.
generate the infosets and in SQ01 create the query with the fields you want to display in the list .

Business Objects SAP Transports overwrite the BW 7.3 Upgrade Crystal Object

Hello All,
We recently Upgraded our BW environment to 7.3 from 7.0 NW. And we also implemented BI 4.0 SP2, and as part of Integrating BI with BW put in 8 SAP transports which I have listed below. After the 7.3 upgrade to BW we were asked to put in SP5 and then the SPAU comes back with a conflict with one of the BI transports. After doing a compare it seems the CRYSTAL namespace is now part of 7.3 and these BI transports for SAP were created in 2005, so by putting these transports in (for BI to BW connectivity) we have overwrtten some 7.3 code?
My question is do we have a new set of transports for BI to BW 7.3 connectivity? I couldn't find any such in the installation guide or OSS notes for BI

Hi Paul, I opened a message with SAP under the BI area, and it has been routed to the BEX-BW team now. I would suggest open a message for the BEX-BW group since your Upgrade is getting stuck during Enhancement. Also talking to the BI folks on phone I got the impression that althoguht BW 7.3/7.0x have most of the objects in the standard SAP namespace they still want us to import the 8 or 9 transports as mentioned in the BI Guide. It feels that the SAP BW development and SAP BI development are not at the same page and causing these conflicts. Sorry couldn't be of much help to you.

As you can see there is not any MDX_GET_STREAM_INFO function!!!!
Regarding to "If not I would suggest yo try to reimport the Crystal Reports BW MDX connectivity transports" --> I've also repeated this step (Unicode files: * MDX Query Connectivity transport (K900529.r21 and R900529.r21)).
Any suggestion?!

Data is not getting displayed in the report from an Infoset.

Hi All,
I am having a report based on an infoset. This report is displaying the data in the Dev. envmt. When it is transported to the QA, it is not displaying the data in the BEx as well as RSRT, in the QA envmt. The patch levels of both the Dev. and QA are the same. The Queries are same in the Dev and QA also.
While trying to display the data from the infoset (rt.click- display data), i am able to view the data, in the QA.
Could anyone please suggest why the data is not getting displayed in the query designer.

I ran the "ZPS/!ZPS" in RSRT where ZPS is the infoset name. In Dev, it displayed the values. In QA, it displayed the below messages:
ECharacteristic 0TCAKYFNM does not exist. Check authorizations
WThere are calculated elements. These results are bracketed [ ]
and below that, it displayed the values for Number of records. But, it has not displayed the values for the other figures.
Does this has any impact in QA.

Unable to Access BI InfoSet in Crystal Reports using SAP Info sets driver

Hi,
I am looking to develop a report on top of BI InfoSet in Crystal Reports. However using the the SAP InfoSets driver I am only able to visualize 'Classic InfoSet' and 'SAP Query'. It does not show the option to import the regular InfoSet as a datasource. I am unable to access the InfoSet built by the db join on InfoCubes that is available in SAP BW System.
Can anybody help.

BI Infoset and Online reporting

I would like to check how to improve behavior of Infoset in BI to honor data from aggregates and from open request as well..
My Infoset consists of left inner join between Standard Infocube and InfoObject 0CRM_MKTELM with join condition 0CRM_MKTELM. In Infoset Global Properties I set the flag Most Recent Reporting in InfoObjects. Status of request for standard cube was set to Up to Current Status (qualok).
With this design of Infoset I am able to achieve online reporting of 0CRM_MKTELM using standard cube data in queries but the system is not accessing aggregates.
If status of standard cube which is part of infoset is set as rollup infoset is displaying just data from closed request/aggregates only. If it is set up as qualok it is not accessing aggregates and it access cube directly.

Is there any way how infoset can access simultaneously cube data which are aggregated and data from open request of the same cube?

I did some further analysis but from standard point of view it looks like that Infoset are no really designed to work with aggregates and open requests. Is there any way how to force infoset to read aggregates+open request or this is just cul de sac?

Can I access Infoset variable from Crystal Reports

Hi,
In order to connect Crystal Reports 2008 to the SAP environment I have the Integration kit.
I have learnt that Crystal also offers InfoSet driver to connect to SAP.
If I need to access SAP BI- Infoset variables inside Crystal Reports is it possible to do that. If no, then do I need to have the filter using the variable value instead of the fixed filter value?

Hi Amogh,
the InfoSet connectivity that Crystal Reports offers as a direct Infoset connectivity is towards the classic InfoSets from ERP.

In case you want to connect to an InfoSet in a BW system you would put a BW query on top of the InfoSet and then use the BW Query in Crystal Reports.

Wrong data when i create a report on infoset in BI 7.0

Customer No has the master data(C100,C200,C300,C400) and C300 and C400 are not performed any transaction in the cube.
Created a infoset with left outer join on infoobject (Customer No) and the Infocube(which has the transactions done by the Customer)
i kept the Customer No in the rows and the Netsales in the column of the report in BI 7.0 query desiner and when i run the query i got the result as C100 and C200 only not C100,C200,C300,C400
But the result should show C100,C200,C300 And C400
Please clarify me what could be the problem ?

Did you select Customer from the cube or the Infoobject for Infoset?
