InfoView and IE9

I have a couple users that had just upgraded to IE 9 and now can not execute a report using Infoview.  They are able to see all of the reports, but once they click on the report to execute it the following error appears.
HTTP Status 400 - Invalid path /CrystalReports/view was requested
type Status report
message Invalid path /CrystalReports/view was requested
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /CrystalReports/view was requested).
Apache Tomcat/5.5.20
I attempted to execute the same reports using a computer with IE 8 and it works fine.  Pretty sure it's a IE 9 issue, but not sure how to fix the problem so the users with IE 9 can execute their reports.

There have been many threads lately on simi9lar subject - please use search before posting as your question might be already answered.
The short answer - IE9 is not yet certified for usage with BOE.

    Dear all,
    Seems the issue is browser compatibility ans the below solution may work in your case
    HTTP 400 occurs because of URL difference between IE9 and older versions of supported IE. To resolve this issue, this error in Tomcat will be redirected to a HTML script that applies new URL format. Please follow this 3 steps process:
    STEP ONE: Solution in InfoViewAppActions Folder:
    1) Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions” folder. This folder already has httperror_404.htm and httperror_500.jsp by default.  Rename httperror_404.htm to httperror_404_backup.htm.
    2) Copy and paste the attached file from InfoViewAppActions folder (httperror_400.htm and httperror_404.htm) into “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions” folder. Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewAppActions\WEB-INF”
    3) Take a backup of web.xml file and name it as web_backup.xml
    4) Open the file and paste the following script after the Error 404 error handling and save.
    Before:
    <error-page>
            <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    After:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
        <error-page>
    <error-code>400</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_400.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    STEP TWO: Solution in AnalyticalReporting Folder:
    1) Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting” folder. This folder already has httperror_404.htm and httperror_500.jsp by default.  Rename httperror_404.htm to httperror_404_backup.htm.
    2) Copy and paste the attached file from AnalyticalReporting folder (httperror_400.htm and httperror_404.htm) into “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting” folder. Go to “D:\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\ AnalyticalReporting \WEB-INF”
    3) Take a backup of web.xml file and name it as web_backup.xml
    4) Open the file and paste the following script after the Error 404 error handling and save.
    Before:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
    After:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_404.htm</location>
        </error-page>
        <error-page>
    <error-code>400</error-code>
    <location>/httperror_400.htm</location>
        </error-page>

  • File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:  - error in log file from IE8 and IE9

    I just updated an existing slide show that was created several months back. Since loading my new set of files to our web server, we keep getting the following error in our server log files when someone loads our page in IE8 and IE9:
    File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:
    One of our programmers tracked the error to this line of code, but we're not sure what's causing it:
    Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn('#slideshowu70', function(elem) { new WebPro.Widget.ContentSlideShow(elem, {autoPlay:true,displayInterval:6000,slideLinkStopsSlideShow:false,transitionStyle:'horizo ntal',lightboxEnabled_runtime:false,shuffle:false}); });/* #slideshowu70 */
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    The errors aren't showing up on the client side, only in the server access logs. Every time the page is loaded with IE8 or IE9 and the Muse.Utils.addSelectorFn with the #slideshowu70 line is hit, it generates four errors in the server access logs.
    Our admin guy pulled the errors from where it was clicked on from the Adobe forum. He said it also appeared that you tested it with www added to the url (if this was when you were testing it)...
    [Mon Feb 04 13:58:57 2013] [error] [client 121.242.198.2] File does not exist: /www/public_html/null, referer:http://stingrayboats.com/

    The reason we find it strange is because it did not result in errors with the previous version of the slideshow. The only thing that changed this time around is that I removed some slides and added additional ones, but I noticed that there is a lot of difference in the code and even the scripts that are used. And I did copy over all of the scripts, css files, etc., so it's using all of the new source files.
    I was hoping it was something that you guys had noticed if you review the access logs when you're testing. While it works perfectly on the client side, the IT guys do go through our access logs, so it would be nice to eliminate the errors.
    Thanks for looking at it!

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.2 and IE9 Issues

    For about a year I have been seeing people post about IE9 and unable to open Adobe PDF files from various locations on the Internet.  Adobe you must fix this problem as it has troubled many individuals over the past year or so.  This is not a browser issue but rather a problem with the Adobe Reader as it works with Adobe Reader 9.x and not 10.1.x
    Windows 7 has been out for two+ years and Microsoft is on the forefront of releasing Windows 8 within a year.  I have performed the steps posted on several sites indicating that you must "uncheck open in browser,""Uncheck enable protected mode" "Uninstall /reinstall," "Update to latest version of Adobe," "Remove Adobe X and roll back to 9.x", etc...  All of these issues are still existing for many individuals.  Why has this issue not been resolved?  I find it disturbing that Adobe just seems to "NOT CARE" and blatantly blame IE9.
    I work for a global solutions provider and as such we should be able to roll out Adobe reader X to any client running Windows 7 and IE9 without flaw.
    Now we are having to roll back from Adobe Reader X to 9 this can impact several enterprise corporations and clearly should be able to be resolved with a complete fix for reader 10.x or a new version of Adobe Reader rather than a simple band aid
    I would love to have this fixed than have to roll back over 10000+ machines to Adobe Reader version 9.x
    Adobe please fix this issue as this is impacting individuals, small corporations, enterprise corporations globally!

    Yes, I have seen this a couple of times here in the forums.  But I, for one, have no problems opening PDF files in IE9 (as long as I use the 32-bit version).
    Maybe Adobe has troubles reproducing the issue?

  • IE8 and IE9 issues

    Created a site in DW CS3. Recently Made some modifications using DW CS3 and added some new rollovers. Everything previews correctly in Safari, Firefox, Opera and IE5.2 (mac).
    When viewed in IE8 and IE9 I get colored outlines around some of the rollover images. This does not occur on the rest of the site, only where I added the new rollovers. I added the bottom two rollovers, but the older top two rollovers are also affected. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Below is a screen shot of the page from IE9
    Thanks

    You have a stray <html> tag in your head.
    I think you need to close off your <img> elements with a back slash at the end like this:
    <img src="../Home/images_home/Contact_out.gif" alt="contact us" name="ContactImage" width="199" height="62" border="0" />
    Some of your other errors occur I think, because you are using deprecated attributes.  At least I think that's the case.  I don't think they will muck your layout up but then, I never have used a table based layout.
    One thing that you could try is to use HTML Tidy in the validator - http://validator.w3.org/  There's a check box there under "more options" that will run your code through that and it will spit out your page all neat and tidy at the end of the results page.  It adds its own meta tag to show that you used it.  I always remove that so people can't see I cheated.  I don't like using it because for me it circumvents the whole learning thing.  Easy, but no help for the future.
    It is a bit of a blunt instrument I think and I would always use it with caution.  It should only take minutes so what I would try is to duplicate your page in DW, rename it testpage.html or something, run the validator on your existing page, copy the whole of the code that it spits out for you, delete the exising code in your test page and paste that in and then er... test it.
    What HTML Tidy will do for instance, is add in things like unclosed elements.

  • Infoview and java 1.6.0_16

    We have Crystal Reports Server 2008 InfoView and another web application running on the same Tomcat installation.  Recently upgrading the corresponding version of java to 1.6 build 16 caused Infoview to throw a HTTP 500 error when trying to view any reports.  Is there any known guidance to an issue like this?  We are now discussing leaving the BOE Tomcat/Java installation to handle Infoview and installing a separate instance of Tomcat/Java for the other application.  Recommandations?
    VR,
    Chad

    We have been running 1.6 update 12 without any problems.  We have only encountered problems when we recently updated to update 16.
    For security purposes we are unable to use 1.5 because of some security flaw.

    Hi,
    rule number 1: This is a public forum. Please don't post issues regarding internal builds. Only issue related to public builds should be posted here!
    Beside of this, your post doesn't provide enough information to reproduce the problem (or a test case to try and run)

    Hi Madhu,
    For Scenario 1 : Go to CMC.
    Go to : Home > BusinessObjects Enterprise Applcations > InfoView
    You can customise Inforview properties and Rights here, like setting up ur logo,style sheets etc.
    For Scenario 2: Each User will have to customize their own Infoview.
    Go to Infoview. On the top right corner will be 3 icons. Click on the 'Preferences' icon.
    In the General tab of preferences you can customise the infoview settings.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks!!

  • Error with .fdf files and IE9

    I'm having an issue retreiving/displaying .fdf forms in IE9.  When I try to open the form (either online or from a file saved locally), it will launch Adobe 9 Reader and a new IE9 window. Then IE9 will stop working (error indicates Explorer has stopped working).
    If I change defaults to Firefox for HTTP protocols (through control panel/default programs) and then try to open the files again, it opens in Firefox automatically (if opening from saved file) or opens in Firefox when Firefox is launched.
    This happens on a new HP with Windows 7 Professional and IE9 with all current updates.  Do not experience this issue on a Windows Vista with IE8.
    Also tried upgrading to latest version of Adobe Reader and still get the same reactions as above.
    Has anyone else experienced this or know of a solution?

    I just caught the part about your  having "uploaded DNG patches 7.2, 7.3 and 8.1".
    Those are not "patches" at all but stand-alone applications on their own right.  You don't just install the DNG Converter, you actually have to run the converter in a separate step and convert the raw Nikon NEF files to raw DNG files.  The DNG Converter does not do anything magically or automatically.  Point the DNG Converter to the folder containing your raw files; it works on folders, not on individual files.  But you shouldn't even remotely need the Adobe DNG Converter in the first place.
    However, most importantly, what you need to update is your ACR plug-in.
    No matter when you buy an Adobe application, it will ALWAYS need to be updated right away, and so do all plug-ins.  What you buy is always the original release, and by the time it's out there it will inevitably be obsolete.
    If you go to the Help menu in Elements, I'm assuming it will have a menu item for Updates (or Check for Updates), that should offer to apply any applicable updates to Elements and to ACR plug-in.

  • Webcast problems with Flash Player 11.7.700.169 and IE9

    I recently started to have problems viewing slides during webcasts from TalkPoint/Lightwave.  I have Windows 7 64-bit and IE9 (both 32-bit and 64-bit).  When the webcas starts, the audio is fine, but the slides are not shown.  If I remove Flash Player, I can see the slides.  With Flash Player installed, I can view the webcast fine in Chrome and Firefox, but not IE9.  Looks like another incompatiblity between Flash Player and IE9.  Does anyone have a solution/workaround or should I try to download an earlier version of Flash Player.  Perhpas IE10 is a fix.

    I'm having the same issue; non-HTML5 videos won't play. Specifically they start for a couple seconds and then freeze. I'm running Windows XP and Firefox.. I tried de-selecting hardware acceleration, increased the local storage, and I don't know what else to do. XP, Firefox, and Flash are all the latest versions.
    This has only been for the last 2-3 weeks, and the only things that have changed are updated Flash, updated Firefox, and supervisor installed Norton while I was on vacation.
    Please, any suggestions?
    ETA: And just like that, it's working! I think that I probably should have restarted the computer after changing my settings yesterday. Or not; still confused but relieved.

  • Infoview and VBA

    Hi to all,
    I've tried to publish some reports to Infoview which have got a lot of VBA (these are legacy reports, done with 6.5). They used to work perfectly through Infoview and BusinessObjects, but now they work only with DesktopIntelligence.
    Is there a way to debug/see some logs from Infoview?
    Thanks
    Daniele

    Dan, I'm actually running into the exact same issue.  Here's an example of the code we are trying to get to work.
    Public Sub Forced_Refresh_All_Scorecards()
        Dim Result As Integer
        Dim OverWriteMode As Boolean
        OverWriteMode = OVERWRITE_ON
        Const SourceDir = "CPR - PreProduction/Operations/CPR - Migrated Reports/2.0 Kerry/Already Migrated"
        Const DestinDir = "
    cpr.ca\rail_Data\WIN_ACB\CSTDataInt\Everyone\BO Development\"
      Result = Refresh_Scorecard("scorecard9daily", DestinDir & "Scorecard9daily\", SourceDir, "Scorecard")
    End Sub
    When we run the DESKI report, on the BOE 3.1 server as the BOE 3.1 server ID it works correctly, however when the report is schedlued it will run to success very quickly but never actually execute the code.
    I am toying with the idea of ripping out the VBA code and executing the VBA as a standalone VBA script file with the BOE program job server.  If I have any success I will update.

  • InfoView and CMC speed

    Hi,
    Just a quick question to see if anyone else is having issues regarding the speed of both InfoView and Central Management Console? It takes an age compared to the previous version of InfoView and CMC.
    Our Crystal Sever is on a virtual server. Would this compromise the speed?
    Any ideas of how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance
