InfoView - Query Filter for date variable of previous week

I am trying to automate the process to generate a report for the previous week's data.  Right now I just prompt the user to enter in the start & end date/times, but I would like to somehow automate the date filtering using a Query Filter.
In particular, the report will be generated every Thursday at 12:35 PM, and it needs to filter only the date field between the date's of the previous Thursday @ 1:31 PM, and the current Thursday @ 12:30 PM.
I know there is a way to do this using an offset or something like that, but I'm a bit of a newbie to InfoView....so any help is greatly appreciated.  Sorry if the explanation is confusing.
Thanks so much,
Nick

Hi,
You can create two objects on universe level or first database level then add in the universe based the sysdate.
Then go to  webi  query and  replace the prompt value by these objects and from next time when ever user refresh this report will run  without any prompt.Same thing in the scheduled report.
Thanks,
Amit

  • Calendar prompt for Date variable from bex

    Hi All,
    I have a Bex query where I have a variable on 0CALDAY
    - Customer exit (i_step = 1 to populate with current date)
    - Single value
    - Mandatory
I created universe on this query and in webI selection screen i do see the variable prompt.
I am not able to see the current date populated automatically since exit values are not populated to WebI at runtime.
My problem is that in WebI selection screen we get list of date values from the info provider instead of Calendar prompt
where user can enter the values directly.
I am currently on BO XI 3.1 SP3.
Is there any specific setting in Universe or bex query which is required to get this Calendar prompt instead of list of values for dates?
Note: When we were on SP1 the universe created then had same variable from bex and it still shows us Calendar prompt but ever since we upgraded to SP3 for the query splitter functionality we not able to get the calendar prompt for date variable in new universe we create
    Thanks
    Ritesh

    Yep.
Now tell me how you want to show that Prompt @ WebI report level.
My problem is that in WebI selection screen we get list of date values from the info provider instead of Calendar prompt
where user can enter the values directly. Exactly, i didn't get this??
    @Prompt:
You have flexibility to show options like:
Mono/Multi: User can select Single value or Multiple.
BW Variable: Same we have (Single/Multiple)
Free/Constrained: User can Enter his/her value directly or No change option.
BW Variable: By defalut you will get this, once you made it to Optional input.
Persistent/Not_Persistent: Refreshed report has to show last selected value means use Persistent otherwise Not_P.
By seeing the Prompt syntax , I can say your Variable is after Customer Exit, Correct??
    Workaround for your Problem is:
    <FILTER KEY="ZV_DATE"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Date (Previous Day)','A','Date\LovDate (Previous Day)Base',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>
You have to remove that Date class and objects from prompt syntax. Because of that it showing up LOV's not calendar.
    Like:
    <FILTER KEY="ZV_DATE"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Date (Previous Day)','A',',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>
    Why, It should be blank??
Because Date needs no class\object to show up, by default you will get Calendar on the fly.
    Hope you got my point.
    Thank You!!

  • Filter a List for data from the Previous Month

    Hello,
I have audit data for each month of the year.  At the beginning of one month I pull a report from the previous month.  I would like to have a view in my SharePoint list that shows only the data from the previous month.
I am not a programmer or developer, so I was wondering if this is possible without out of the box tools.
Here is what I have done so far:
Created two calculated columns to find the start and end date of the previous month
Previous Month Start =DATE(YEAR([Date of Review]),MONTH([Date of Review])-1,1)
Previous Month End   =DATE(YEAR([Date of Review]),MONTH([Date of Review]),0)
I have verified these two calculations do show the correct dates.
So I can generate the dates, but I don't know how to set up a view filter that will show only data from the previous month.
    Please help.

What you need is the calculated column to display the start and the end of the next month, not the previous month. Then you can do a view filter where Start<Today & End>Today.
EX: If you have a document with date 15-03-2014, you need to save the dates 01-04-2014(start) and 30-04-2014(End).
Then If Start < [Today] and End > [Today], you can show the document

  • Getting data in a query on last date of all previous months

    Dear Experts,
I need your help with a query.
I am trying to create a query which when run should pick the number of Open Sales Order on the last date of all the previous months from the start of company.
I could create the query for fetching the required data on last day of the previous month, say today is 25th June 2014, so my query only fetches data for May 31st 2014 but I need data for all previous month, May 31st 2014, April 30th 2014, March 31st 2014 & so on.
Please advise how to achieve this is SQL query.

  • Interactive report filter for date not working correctly

    Hi,
I am having an interactive report. I tried to give a filter for a column(created_on) as created on>29-oct-2009 17:17
but i am getting the row containing created on as *29-oct-2009 17:17* in the report result. How can i correct this
    problem
    Thanks,
    TJ

    Hi,
I think it is because seconds.
    So it is 29-oct-2009 17:17:00 and your record is e.g. 29-oct-2009 17:17:02
    br, Jari
    Edit
You can use trunc function in your select so that it round date to minutes
    TRUNC(created_on,'MI') AS created_onBr, Jari

  • User exit for Date variable in Bex

    Hi All,
I have a report based on an ODS which displays employee and its records. 'BegDate' is the only field in the variable selection screen. The requirement is to display all the records for which the 'Begdate' should be less than equal to the given date(in the variable selection screen). Obviously, I need to go with a user exit in background. I want to know -
    1. What should be the properties that has to be set to the date variable ?(I need only one selection box and not two which we generally have for ranges)
    2. Based on the date, how should I fetch the records? I need to fetch it from the active table of my ODS ?
    3. What is the correct syntax? I am getting some different results through my exit. Please specify the exit code clearly.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

Why do you want to have an exit for this? As far as I understood you have a variable which contains a single date and you want to display all entrys where a given InfoObject has a value less than or equal to the value.
You can do this the following way.
    Choose Restrict on your InfoObject
Right at the top there is a box where you can choose Value ranges (or similar, only have the German client at hand)
Next you get three boxes at the right middle side. Choose Less than or Equal in the top of the three. One of the boxes disappears.
Press the button with the two squares right besides the lower box.
In the drop down box at the top you can choose variables. Finally select the standard single value variable you want to use.
    Best regards
    Dirk

  • Using 2 presentation variables in a filter for date

I do have 2 presentation variables @MONTH and @YEAR. In my analysis I do have a Timestamp column EfDate.
I am trying to filter EfDate, using the SQL Expression option and cast(('01/'||'@{MONTH}'||'/'||'@{YEAR}'||' 00:00:00) as timestamp).
Tried also with cast(('@{YEAR}/'||'@{MONTH}'||'/'||'01'.... and with '-' instead of '/'.
No success... either a message for invalid month, or invalid character, etc.
Pls. anyone could give me a hint ?
    Txs.
    Antonio

    Hi Srini,
Txs. for your help... but I guess I do have some difficult understanding this MIN function... (tried the doc but still is kind of strange).
    OTH on your last post I believe you mean: Time."Year" = '@{Y1}' and ... Right ? and not Time."Month" = '@{Y1}' and ...
My filter would be something like: Effdate < '01' / @{MONTH} / @{YEAR} (keeping out the cast and etc.).
I still cannot see how to use the format you´ve suggested in my filter above. Sorry.. but maybe you could help me ?
    txs a lot in advance.

  • Query filter by date not working

We recently migrated to SAP BO 9.0. We have a query that brings up all the job orders (pending or not). The user then filters the query to pick the appropiate data. We have several problems with this approach with 9.0 as a) when you bring up the filter, we can not enter a random date in the appropiate column and b) The drop down list of dates does not bring all the dates available (translation: it bring dates up to 2012 but we have 2014 dates available and that show up in the query)
    Any pointers?
    Regards

    Hi,
    1. select " In range" under rule column
    2.  In value column, choose "space" from drop down list and enter required date
    3.  Same to way enter date for "To value" column.
    4. Choose filter
Query will be filtered as per selected date from "Value" and "to value" dates.

  • Query tuning for data-warehousing application in Oracle 8i.

We have to pick up 24 months old data. Each month data is kept in a different partition.
2007-May month data is kept in PRESC200705 partition
    SELECT r.account_id,

    spm.product_id,
    p.month,
    t.best_call_state,

    and spm.mds6 = p.product_id
    and t.CLIENT_ID = p.presc_num
    and r.ndc_pyr_id = p.payer_plan
    and t.best_call_state = r.ST
    GROUP BY r.account_id,
    p.presc_num,
    spm.product_id,
    p.month,
    t.best_call_state
Q This Query is to be tuned
    SQL> SELECT table_name,
    2 partition_name,
    3 high_value,
    4 num_rows
    5 FROM user_tab_partitions
    6 ;
    no rows selected

    I have the following task:
    Requirement:
According to the client, new partitions are created every month.
So the query should contain only the 24 most recent partions leaving one old partition every month.
    So, the query becomes dynamic.
The query will have to leave one old partion every month and move ahead with the new partion created.
The total partitions accessed should not cross 24.
    Is this possible?
    Partition# for OCt 2007
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    24
    Partition# for Nov 2007
    Old|New
    1
    2..1
    3..2
    4..3
    5..4
    6..5
    7..6
    24..23
    ..24
Secondly, with one month data (in a partitioned table), the query takes about one hour to run.
with 24 month data accessed by the query, the query will take 24 hours to run.
I am sure that Oracle can be tuned to run on such huge data with ease and the query output can
come within seconds.. Otherwise, nobody would use oracle for datawarehousing applicaions.
    Q. How do I write a dynamic query that references 24 recent partitions, using the query provided:
    abc>SELECT r.account_id,
    2 p.presc_num,
    3 spm.product_id,
    4 p.month,
    5 t.best_call_state,
    6 sum(p.trx_count)
    7 FROM rlup_assigned_account r,
    8 temp_presc_num_TEST t,
    9 retail.prescrip_retail partition (PRESC200705) p,
    10 sherlock.sherlock_product_mapping spm
    11 WHERE spm.product_id like '056%'
    12 and t.CLIENT_ID='934759'
    13 and spm.mds6 = p.product_id
    14 and t.CLIENT_ID = p.presc_num
    15 and r.ndc_pyr_id = p.payer_plan
    16 and t.best_call_state = r.ST
    17 GROUP BY r.account_id,
    18 p.presc_num,
    19 spm.product_id,
    20 p.month,
    21 t.best_call_state
    22 ;
    retail.prescrip_retail partition (PRESC200705) p,
Partition name, PRESC200705 cannot be hardcoded into the sql.
Sql should take a range of 24 recent partitions.
And the query should execute fast too.
Now, is that what is called a challenge?

Partition Pruning: This is supposed to provide an insight to the partitions oracle

I guess we can use "month>= add_months(sysdate,-24)" instead of partions too.

I'll also search into all_tab_partitions to verify this.

  • Parsing Issue in Filter For Date Format

    Hi Folks,
I am having Parsing Issue on "Key Date" Object in Universe. See the Error and Code below for your review
Error: Parse Failed: Exception: DBD, The value entered is not valid. It must adhere to one of the following formats.
    YYYYMMDD
    DD.MM.YYYYState:N/A
    Code:
    <OPERATOR VALUE="AND"><OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="0I_DAYIN"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Between"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Day Interval From','A','Calendar Day\LovDay IntervalBase',mono,primary_key)"/><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Day Interval To','A','Calendar Day\LovDay IntervalBase',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="0P_KEYDA"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Key Date','D',,mono,free)"/></CONDITION></FILTER></OPERATOR>
This universe is created by someone else and client need to modify it with a calendar but i did not modify it yet however its already giving me the hard time. Kindly advise, any kind of help will be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi,
With the information provided I cannot for sure get to the error but here is what I would check.
Firstly, I was wondering if the 5th parameter in the @Prompt can be Primary_Key. I thought it would be either free or constrained.
Secondly, please the LOV values for the @ prompt are being populated from 'Calendar Day\LovDay IntervalBase'. So I would check the date format being used there.
Third, the To and From dates are alphaneumeric and not dates, so I am not sure how the comparision would happen.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Madhur

  • Query Builder for Date

If (LIKE @Name+ '%') is for searching names in Local Database then what is the Query if we want to find for date

    You could use BETWEEN:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187922.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
SELECT * FROM Table WHERE [DateColumn] IS BETWEEN '2015-01-01' AND '2015-12-31'
Or you could compare with different parts of a date, for example the month:
    SELECT * from Table1 WHERE MONTH(DateColumn) = 1 -- = January
But please ask T-SQL related questions in the appropriate forum:

  • Custom Filter for Date on UWL iview

    Hello Experts-
I want to display previously approved tasks and current tasks in a UWL iview.
As of now in the iview the taks which are displayed are the one which are pending.
For this I am planning to add a custom filter to my UWL iview.
Can anyone point me some documentation on this? Or Is there any other way to display previously approved tasks or timesheets?
    Please let me know.
Any helpful repsonses are appreciated with points.
    -Raj.

    Hi Raj,
I think its not possible to display previously approved tasks.
If we take example for tasks like Leave Requests or Travel Requests ---
When users raise the leave request it triggers the Work Flow in R3 and it goes to
SAP Inbox of Manager (R3) for Approval.
Now UWL fetches all the task those are in SAP Inbox , UWL does not stores it anywhere.
Aa soon as tasks get approved it goes out of SAP Inbox.
So its not possible to to show it  in UWL again.
Same case with GP task , One the GP taks gets approved it will not come to UWL.

    Piyush

  • Query filter for linked work items by link type

We are running TFS 2012. I am opening up my work item query in VS 2013 team explorer. I need to know how to write a query that allows me to filter OUT links of type "related" so that they don't show in the tree under the product backlog item in
the sprint. Link Type is not one of the fields present in the query editor.
    Thanks.
