Inheritance in ADF

Now I have one issue. I am from Oracle forms back ground. In that we can create an OLB file, from there we can inherit and create new forms.
Is there any facility like this in ADF, means we have bank payment form, bank receipt, cash payment, cash receipt etc. All are from same tables.
If we create one bank payment, can we make it as a template with base table and all columns and we need to create a bank receipt , cash payment forms.
So we make any modification in that template form, it will reflect in all forms.
How can we implement this in ADF?. Please help me

Hi,
good news is that there is a lot of more reuse in ADF than Forms (OLB wasn't really inheritance). The mentioned reuse of ADF model artifacts in ADF libraries is one option of reusing business services. If on teh view side you build a task flow with the functionality you need then this task flow too can be saved in an ADF library and used within and across applications

  • Migrating an application from JDev 10.1.3 to JDev 10.1.3.2

    Hi,
    I am having trouble migrating an application made with JDev 10.1.3 to 10.1.3.2.
    Everything is fine when I run it on the embedded OC4J, but when I try to deploy I have problems.
    The application is deployed on OAS 10.1.3R3.
    What I have done so far was to install the new ADF libraries using ADFinstaller, editing server.xml as per Note:417812.1 and include adf-faces-api.jar, adf-faces-impl.jar, jsf-api.jar, jsf-impl.jar and adfshare.jar from JDev 10.1.3.2 to my project WEB-INF/lib folder.
    Some pages are working as they should, but when a date is to be displayed I have this error:
    javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jbo.domain.Date.timestampValue()Ljava/sql/Timestamp;So, am I missing some jar to be included? Have I missed a step or two?
    Thank you for your help.

    Solved.
    For some reason, once the application has been migrated, the following lines were added to orion-application.xml:
        <imported-shared-libraries>
            <import-shared-library name="adf.generic.domain" min-version="10.1.3"></import-shared-library>
            <remove-inherited name="adf.oracle.domain"></remove-inherited>
        </imported-shared-libraries>
    -------I do not know if the migration tool was directly responsible for this. Anyway, as this project has been migrated time and time again from a JDev version anterior to 10, this kind of thing was bound to happen someday.

  • ADF bindings are not working with inheritance heirarchy.

    ADF bindings are not working with inheritance heirarchy. I am using embedded OC4J in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.
    For the data model I have the following objects\attributes.
    1) User (abstract EJB 3.0 POJO)
    - Id
    - userId
    - userName
    2) Employee -> extends User (EJB 3.0 POJO)
    - enabled
    - password
    3) Manager -> extends Employee (EJB 3.0 POJO)
    - numOfEmployees
    4) UserSessionBean (Stateless Session Bean)
    - public User findUserByUserId(String userId)
    - public List<User> queryUserFindAll()
    - Object mergeEntity(Object entity)
    I created 2 JSF pages using ADF.
    1) ListUsers.jspx - Lists all the users of type Employee and Manager in a table. You can select an user and chose to modify the user details using a modify button.
    2) ModifyUser.jspx - Modify the selected user and persist the modified user details.
    I implemented ListUsers.jspx by dragging and dropping queryUserFindAll() method from the ADF datacontrol on to the JSF page and selected ADF Table format with selection enabled.
    Similarly for the ModifyUser.jspx page I dragged and dropped the User object returned by findUserByUserId(String userId) and selected ADF Form format. I selected OutputText field types for userId and userName.
    I then created a navigation case from ListUsers.jspx to ModifyUser.jspx and pass the selected user.
    Now when I try to run the web application, ListUsers.jspx correctly displays all the users. Then I select a user of type Employee and click on the modify button. This brings up the ModifyUser.jspx page. However, the UserId text field displays the value for "Id" field rather than "userId".
    Question that I have is:
    - Why is ADF framework not able to retrieve the appropriate user attribute value for a Employee based on the binding information in case of inheritance ?
    Thanks,
    Piyush

    Hi,
    tried with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 and this works for me. Try JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 - if it doesn't work, have a closer look at your sessionFacade

  • ADF 11g inheritance problem

    Hi
    Giving a look on ADF 11g model Business Components, I tried to have a generic component A and its extended component B.
    A has an id primary key attribute and if i generate a database table it has the PK generated, but B has no PK generated since the extended attribute is marked with the PK property.
    I used Jdeveloper 11g 11.1.1.1.0, and built two components from a BC diagram.
    Questions,
    is it a good practice to have a master generic component with common id version and audit attributes ?
    why the pk constraint is not built on database table for extended components ?
    Thanks for your answers

    The screen goes normal when I place the cursor over the top of the app and I don't get any height=100% on my page.
    I noticed that some pages that have the table component on it don't get this bug.
    I see the last release and the EL to get the agent detects the IE8 normally but that is some way to port my app to it??

  • ADF from JDeveloper 10.1.2 not compatible with iAS 9.0.1

    Hi,
    We developed an ADF Application with JDeveloper 10.1.2 and we use the ADF interMedia domains (e.g. oracle.ord.im.OrdDocDomain). The application runs fine in JDeveloper, but doesn't run on our iAS 9.0.4.1. We get the following exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sql/DatumWithConnection
    at java.lang.Class.forName0(Native Method)
    at java.lang.Class.forName(Class.java:219)
    at oracle.jbo.common.java2.JDK2ClassLoader.loadClassForName(JDK2ClassLoader.java:38)
    at oracle.jbo.common.JBOClass.forName(JBOClass.java:161)
    at oracle.jbo.common.JBOClass.findDataClass(JBOClass.java:203)
    at oracle.jbo.server.AttributeDefImpl.initFromXML(AttributeDefImpl.java:2061)
    at oracle.jbo.server.AttributeDefImpl.loadFromXML(AttributeDefImpl.java:2013)
    at oracle.jbo.server.EntityDefImpl.loadAttribute(EntityDefImpl.java:2815)
    at oracle.jbo.server.EntityDefImpl.loadAttributes(EntityDefImpl.java:2779)
    at oracle.jbo.server.EntityDefImpl.loadFromXML(EntityDefImpl.java:2362)
    at oracle.jbo.server.EntityDefImpl.loadFromXML(EntityDefImpl.java:2106)
    at oracle.jbo.server.MetaObjectManager.loadFromXML(MetaObjectManager.java:514)
    [...rest of stacktrace omitted ...]
    The problem is that the JDBC version of the iAS 9.0.4.1 is missing the class DatumWithConnection that is indirectly referenced by the interMedia classes supplied with JDeveloper 10.1.2.
    In detail, oracle.ord.im.OrdDoc uses oracle.sql.STRUCT. The inheritance hierarchy of STRUCT is different in the JDBC versions on iAS 9.0.4.1 (oracle.sql.Datum <- oracle.sql.STRUCT) and JDeveloper 10.1.2 (oracle.sql.Datum <- oracle.sql.DatumWithConnection <- oracle.sql.STRUCT). The class file of oracle.ord.im.OrdDoc (from 10.1.2. JDeveloper) was apparently compiled the new JDBC driver version since it contains a reference to oracle.sql.DatumWithConnection. And that class cannot be found if run on iAS 9.0.4.1 with its old JDBC version.
    I think this is a very serious problem, since it means that ADF from JDeveloper 10.1.2 is not compatible with iAS 9.0.4.1, in contradiction to the support matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/10g/as_supportmatrix.html).
    Upgrading the JDBC Driver on the iAS seems to be the only clean solution for this problem (we also tried using old versions of the ordim.jar etc. but that always leads to other problems). But simply exchanging the JDBC jar-files on the server breaks the Enterprise Manager on our iAS installation.
    I have two questions:
    1) Is there a recommended workaround for the compatibility issue described above?
    2) Is there a documented and supported way to upgrade the JDBC driver of iAS 9.0.4.1? I searched OTN and MetaLink and haven't found anything about this.
    Kind Regards,
    Kay
    P.S. It is surprising that this problem is rarely mentioned in the OTN forums at all. The only relevant thread is on the JHeadstart Forum:
    JHeadstart Deployment Issue
    P.S.2
    More info on what we tested:
    We have thoroughly checked that the 10.1.2. ADF runtime was correctly deployed on our iAS 9.0.4.1. We installed a OC4J 9.0.4.0.0 standalone on the same linux machine as our iAS 9.0.4.1 and deployed our application on it, getting the same error (java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sql/DatumWithConnection) as on the iAS. Replacing the JDBC drivers of the OC4J standalone with the version that came with JDeveloper 10.1.2 solved the problem.

    I don't think that mixing classes from different jar file is a good idea. Nevertheless, we tested this approach already. Adding the DatumWithConnection.class from the 10.1.0.3.0 JDBC version to the jar file of the original JDBC version (of the iAS 9.0.4.1.0) caused a java.lang.VerifyError to appear.
    The DatumWithConnection class is not simply added in the newer JDBC version. It is inserted into the inheritance hierarchy of oracle.sql.STRUCT and oracle.sql.Datum. Simply providing the new class next to the old JDBC driver will not work.
    To give more information about what's wrong with updating the complete JDBC driver, I justed tested it again. To update the JDBC driver I stopped the server, changed the contents of jdbc/lib, started the server. I tried it with JDBC Version 9.2.0.5 as well as 10.1.0.3.0.
    In both cases, our own application works, i.e. no more NoClassDefFoundError caused by oracle.sql.DatumWithConnection.
    The Enterprise Manager shows strange behaviour, however. Some features work as usual but, for example, when I click on the "Applications" tab for our OC4J instance, we just get the following error shown in the browser:
    An error was encountered while loading page. Failed to initialize configuration management user session.. See base exception for details.
    Root Cause: TDU
    Resolution: See base exception for details.. TDU
    In one of the server logs I found the following stacktrace:

  • Creating Custom Validators for ADF in JDev 10.1.3.1

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a validator to solve a seemingly common problem - that is given 2 dates (startDate & endDate), validate that endDate cannot be earlier than startDate.
    In my case, both startDate and endDate are in the same form. From the ADF Developers Guide, the recommended approach is to create the validation method on the page's backing bean. But in my application, there are many occurrences of startDate and endDate in other forms, therefore having the validation method on the backing bean might not be the best solution.
    I tried to create my own custom validator and tying it to a tag library stated in http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JSFDevelop6.html#wp999130, but that didn't seem to work either. I'm not sure if creating custom validators by extending the ValidatorTag is supported in ADF.
    Would appreciate it if someone has any suggestions on how to create the validator that I need, without having validation methods that does the same thing all over my backing beans.
    TIA.
    Regards,
    Lennard

    Hi,
    of course, ADF Faces supports custom validators because it is compliant to the JSF APIs runnting on the JSF RI.
    Another approach for validation would be on the business service level. Assuming you use ADF BC, the EO can have a method validator defined that is automatically inherited by all its views. The disadvantage though is that the error message would have to come from the server, requiring custom error message handling for user friendly messages as described in the developer guide.
    Looking forward, in a next release of ADF the binding ayer will allow more complex validations thus not requiring to handle complex validation on teh business service.
    So far however I think that using a custom validator is the best you can do. Note that in the case of ADF BC the date is of type oracle.jbo.server.domain.Date and not java.util.Date, which might be a hint to check for your validator issue

  • Inheritance based on USER column and JPQL based on @ManyToOne column

    I wanted to build a simple inheritence scheme for no other reason than to support a generalized table that I could manipulate in standard libraries and to extend that table with columns that might exist in various customer implementations. In the extra-ordinarily simple example that follows I created a base Parcel class; extend that with a ParcelBean which has a column specific to a user; and extend that further with a wrapper class that will include some Trinidad references that I want to keep completely away from the bean classes. In short, I wanted to put together an inheritence scheme for basic OO reasons, not because of any particular table structure.
    After some thought I figured that the best way to do this might be to use the Single-Table Strategy, especially after I discovered that I could fool the system by using the Oracle USER pseudo-column for my DiscriminatorColumn and use my schema name for the DiscriminatorValue.
    @Entity
    @Table(name = "PARCEL")
    @Inheritance
    @DiscriminatorColumn(name = "USER")
    public class Parcel {
      String parcelPin;
      public Parcel() {
      @Id
      @Column(name = "PARCELPIN", nullable = false)
      public String getParcelPin() {
        return parcelPin;
      public void setParcelPin(String parcelPin) {
        this.parcelPin = parcelPin;
    @Entity
    public class ParcelBean extends Parcel {
      LandUseType luc;
      public ParcelBean() {
      public void setLuc(LandUseType newluc) {
        this.luc = newluc;
      @ManyToOne
      @JoinColumn(name = "LUC")
      public LandUseType getLuc() {
        return luc;
    @Entity
    @DiscriminatorValue("CPC")
    public class ParcelRow extends ParcelBean {
      public ParcelRow() {
      public void doSomething(ActionEvent ae) {
        ; // Trinidad code
    }For a couple of weeks this has been working fine. Right up until I tried to a JPQL like the following:
    "select p from ParcelRow p where p.luc.cpcCode=12"The problem is that TOPLINK will generate SQL that prefixes USER with an alias (something it does not do if there isn't a foreign key reference involved). This won't work because Oracle SQL does not allow aliases on pseudo-columns
    select USER from PARCEL; -- return CPC
    select p.USER from PARCEL p; -- throws ORA-01747: invalid user.table.column specificationSo now I'm in a jam. I can't (read won't if you will) give up on my requirement for inheritence. I have multiple clients with the same basic legacy table with minor variations and I have tens of thousands of lines of code that work on the basic core table properties and I don't want to copy and paste. I could use interfaces, except that I would still have to extend the Beans with my Row classes so that I could add the JSF actionListeners (and other such stuff). I need to be able to select Lists of these Row classes with the JSF methods so that I can expose them as values to JSF/Trinidad/ADF Tables and it break every person pattern I enforce to mix JSF and JPA dependencies in the same class.
    Anyone out there have any ideas?
    Thanks Mark

    Of course a simple fix for this problem would be if the Oracle provider code was smart enough to recognize pseudo columns and to not prefix them with an alias.
    Is there any chance that this might be done before a final release?
    Mark

  • ADF Faces: how to extend one of the faces components

    Hi all,
    I am thinking of extending the built-in ADF Faces CommandMenuItem component (to work around a bug that was filed). The only thing that I think I need to do is to add an additional property - I don't believe that I will need to add any additional behavior to the tag.
    Can anyone comment on (high level) the steps that I would need to go through? I'd like to
    a). Add the property
    b). Make sure the property shows up in the JDev property inspector
    c). Inherit everything else from CoreCommandMenuItem.
    I've looked at the source code (from the Apache guys), and this doesn't look too hard. I don't want to re-compile the whole Apache drop, just create a new component as described above, but I've no idea really where to start.
    Any insights appreciated,
    John

    Hello John,
    I don't know how possible it will be. It depend on what kind of property you want to add. Here are the general indications to acheive this.
    1) Make a custom component class extending CommandMenuItem class and add an additional property.
    2) Extends the commandMenuItem tag clas with your own
    3) override the method public void setProperties(javax.faces.component.UIComponent component)
    you just have to call the parent first which is the specification behavior anyway, so:
    public void setProperties(UIComponent component) {
    super.setProperties(component);
    // Cast the component to your component class and set your additional property on it
    4) The hard part... This is where I'm unsure of the procedure, but I would say that you'll have to extends ADF Faces's renderer for commandMenuItem and find a way to push the property in it if it has to be sent to the client. This seem really annoying to do. One way to do it would be to wrap the ResponseWriter so you can intercept what the parent renderer encodes and insert your property in the right spot. That strategy requires an additional (probably intern) class extending ResponseWriter. Then you would have to do something like this:
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ResponseWriter initial = context.getResponseWriter();
    context.setResponseWriter(new MyWrapperWriter(initial));
    super.encodeBegin(context, component);
    context.setResponseWriter(initial);
    The Wrapper would have to override all methods and delegate the call to the wrapped instance. When calling startElement(String) you would add a call to writeAttribute for your own property.
    5) For showing the property in the property editor panel you must fill a faces-config.xml file with the <component> tag. Since that one does not allow inheritance (which is really annoying imho) you'll have to copy most of the properties from adf faces' faces-config.xml file.
    6) Fill the tld for your new tag
    7) JAR the whole thing
    8) Edit your tag library from Tool in the menu I think (not on a computer with JDev installed atm so cannot be sure). Add your library that you just created. If faces.config.xml and the .tld are well made JDev will figure prety much everything on its own. You will now have a new choice in the dropdown menu of the component palette for your custom library.
    I hope I was decently clear.

    Simon Lessard

  • ADF Shuttle Select Items rendered as checkboxes

    So, we are using ADF 11.1.2.4 to develop our application.  We have a requirement to use the shuttle control.  However, when it is rendered, it contains checkboxes (inputItem type=checkbox).  I am pretty sure this wasn't happening with 11.1.2.3, but was wondering if anyone else has seen this behaviour?  I am thinking it may also be a CSS thing.
    I've noticed in the rich client demo that it also uses an inputbox as a checkbox, but it has a style class associated with it.  However, in our application, there is no style associated with it.  Perhaps this is because our style hasn't inherited any of the Fusion skins?  Thus, our items are rendered "naked".  Another thing we have noticed is that nothing shows up on the right hand side of the control, but it used to with 11.1.2.3.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    BradW

    Ok, so it was a skinning issue.  I reset the skin in the trinidad-config.xml file and violla!  Checkboxes are gone.  Now just to figure out what the issue is with the right hand side is doing.  Separate question.  Hope this helps someone.

  • ADF Business Component Type MAP Oracls vs Java

    what the advantages and disadvantages from each one map type
    thank in advance

    Take a look at this link in developer's guide:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16182/bcintro.htm#sm0062
    The Java Extended for Oracle type map and the Oracle Domains type map handle numeric data differently. When you create a new application the default type map Java Extended for Oracle maps numeric data to the java.math.BigDecimal >class, which inherits from java.math.Number. The java.math.BigDecimal default matches the way the Fusion web application view layer, consisting of ADF Faces components, preserves alignment of numeric data (such as numeric values >displayed by ADF Faces input fields in a web page). Whereas the Oracle Domains type map, which maps numeric data to the oracle.jbo.domain.Number class, may not display the data with the alignment expected by certain ADF Faces >components. Aside from this alignment issue, the Oracle Domains type map remains a valid choice and applications without ADF Faces components will function without issue.Thanks,

  • ADF BC : polymorphic activation issue

    hi
    Please consider this example application created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.0
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2010/PolymorphicActivationIssue10gApp-v0.01.zip
    It has Entity Objects AdPresEmployees and ItProgEmployees that extend the Employees Entity Object (based on HR.EMPLOYEES).
    There is also the View Object EmployeesVO that is based on Employees and its sub-types AdPresEmployees and ItProgEmployees.
    The basic scenario (sc1) for the expected behaviour goes like
    - (sc1-a) run createEmployees.jspx
    - (sc1-b) enter "20" for "create_pEmployeeId" and "20email" for "create_pEmail" and click the "createAdPresEmployees" button, resulting in a new AdPresEmployeesImpl based row in the table
    - (sc1-c) enter "21" for "create_pEmployeeId" and "21email" for "create_pEmail" and click the "createItProgEmployees" button, resulting in a new ItProgEmployeesImpl based row in the table
    To reproduce scenario (sc1) it is important to not have the system property "jbo.ampool.doampooling" configured to get the default Application Module pooling behaviour, and to have "-Ddopolymorphicactivationfix=false" (or not configured), to result in two new rows in the table as can be seen in the screenshot PAI-sc1-doPooling-noFix.png.
    To reproduce the problem in a scenario (sc2) with the same steps as (sc1) but with "-Djbo.ampool.doampooling=false" configured to avoid Application Module pooling and force passivation and activation, still "-Ddopolymorphicactivationfix=false", the result for a step (sc2-c) would be "JBO-27027: Missing mandatory attributes for a row with key ..." and several "JBO-27014: Attribute ... is required" messages as can be seen in the screenshot PAI-sc2-noPooling-noFix.png.
    Maybe the problem in scenario (sc2) is related to bug 9495116, "PROBLEM WITH ACTIVATION PASSIVATION MAKING USE OF POLYMORPHISM ENTITIES ...".
    After some debugging, to try and work around this problem I have overridden the method findByPrimaryKey() in a custom Entity Definition class like this, conditionally calling findByPKExtended()
    public class EmployeesDefImpl
         extends EntityDefImpl
         public EntityImpl findByPrimaryKey(DBTransaction pDBTransaction, Key pKey)
              if ("true".equals(System.getProperty("dopolymorphicactivationfix"))
                   && isCalledFromActivateNewRowTrackerMethod())
                   return super.findByPKExtended(pDBTransaction, pKey, true);
              return super.findByPrimaryKey(pDBTransaction, pKey);
    }So, a scenario (sc3) similar to (sc1) with default Application Module pooling but with "-Ddopolymorphicactivationfix=true" still behaves the same as (sc1), resulting in two new rows in the table as can be seen in the screenshot PAI-sc3-doPooling-doFix.png.
    But, also a scenario (sc4) with "-Djbo.ampool.doampooling=false", so no pooling, and "-Ddopolymorphicactivationfix=true", now behaves as expected, see screenshot PAI-sc4-noPooling-doFix.png.
    questions:
    - (q1) Is there a real solution for the polymorphic activation problem in scenario (sc2)?
    - (q2) Is the workaround in scenario (sc4) a valid workaround, or how can it be improved?
    many thanks

  • [ADF-11.1.2] Dynamic EO/VO/Association/View Link/pagedef/JSPX XML Def files

    I though I found gold but it has nothing when I clicked on it.
    Steve Muench's "Not Yet Documented Examples" [http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/resource/examples] > "Using ViewObject writeXML and JSTL XML Tag Library" suppose to provide the example. but I am getting File not found error. Seems the sample application doesn't exists any more.
    Please point me to correct example for my following use case:
    At Run-time:
    1. My Application will ask user for database table name.
    2. for provided database table name, my application should Generate XML Definition file for EO, Associations, VO and View Links inside Model Project (basically all definition file should be created which gets created when developer create these Business Components for database table through JDeveloper Studio).
    3. Once done, application should also generate JSPX file using ADF page template in ViewController Project, with binding definition to it's corresponding newly generated VO Objects from step 2.
    4. The page will be then, visible to user to use it (create/update/delete records)
    First of all, is it possible to achieve above requirement ? Based on description of Steve Muench's "Using ViewObject writeXML and JSTL XML Tag Library", I think it is possible, but I don't have the sample application to refer.
    I could have used dynamic view object concept to display the records with basic page layout. But I want users the ability to modify the create/records/delete the records with following requirements:
    1. If require, Business Logic Developer can use Jdeveloper Studio to access new generated Business Components and modify it (like adding some validation rules)
    2. If require, UI Developer can access newly generated JSPX file and change the layout.
    Please let me know how much and how can I achieve it ?

    Shay,
    Thank you for your reply. I will take a look at your links.
    Use Case:
    Application will have different BC for different IT Assets (like Monitor, Keyboard, Servers etc), which will basically hold records for all available Assets (like Display Resolution, screen size etc for all monitor in Monitor BC).
    I want to give user; the ability to create, for e.g., the sub-class of Monitor to store more specific attribute-values in different table (which will be linked Parent BC). For e.g.: They may want to care about holding CRT and LCD Monitor records in separate new database table -- Application will ask user what all attributes/Columns they want to see for LCD which is specific to this type AND which is not present in already existing out-of-box Monitor BC/Table - e.g. - "Viewing Angle" Attribute).
    With that said, I can write code to create database table on fly (having 1-to-1 foreign key reference to parent table) but writing ADF part seems difficult. I also wanted application to automatically generate new page for newly added VO BC. E.g.: LCD-Monitor.JSPX inheriting all attributes from monitor (parent VO) in the same structure as Monitor.JSPX file is having with extra LCD-specific Attributes in separate panel tab (which again UI developers can customized it).
    Too much to expect huh !
    I am going to start building the application so If not above way, any other suggestion to achieve the requirement ?

  • [ADF-11.1.2] Scroll bar Issues - Please file BUGs for these issues.

    Hello,
    Recently, I have started working on ADF and till now I found 2 scroll bar issues with Oracle ADF.
    1. af|inputComboboxListOfValues : Scroll bar appears on Google Chrome.
    Screenshot: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/829/inputcomboboxlistofvalu.jpg/
    2. Setting Table "columnStretching" brings dummy scroll bar : [ADF-11.1.2] Setting Table "columnStretching" brings dummy scroll bar
    I beleive that these two are scroll bar related Bugs but what I understand from ?messageID=9773962 that since I don't have support contract, I can't file a bug.
    I have created this thread so that responsible people can take actions accordingly.

  • Prevent row in ADF BC Row from being deleted

    I'm using ADF/BC for my data; I'm attempting to prevent a row from being deleted based upon some condition. I'd like to do this in the Impl classes of the EO or VO for the given row but I'm not sure where this should be done or if it's even possible to set a "row" to deletable or not. I'm aware of the isUpdatable method that one can override in the EO but I'm interested in preventing a delete of the row instead of the updatability of the attributes.

    Thanks, that prevents it from being deleted for sure but I'm wondering if there is something you can set at the entity level that will be inherited by the Web Tier? In the isAttributeUpdatable method one can set the attributes to read only by returning false and that setting gets bubbled up to the UI tier without any special coding. I'm looking for something similar but instead of a individual attribute I'd like to do it for the Row.
    For instance, I'd like to be able to use EL to set a Delete button to enabled or not based upon a custom permission for that Row. Is there something native on the Row that we can set to make the row read only or not and then reference that using EL?
