Initial Balance Loading for Oracle Payroll - US Legislation

Dears,
We are in process of Oracle Payroll implementation for US Legislation R12.1.3, any i have Questions related to initial Balance Loading:
1- It is a mandatory Step to set initial values for the legislative defined balances?
2- What is the aim for this step?
3- What is the impact if we ignore this step?
  4- Steps?
5- What is the Elements i need to initial values for the balances?
6- What is the Balances i need to initialize for each elements?
Note: kindly note that i read related Metalink posts, but i need it more clearly.
Please advice, it is Urgent
Thank you

1.     Prepare your Balances data with the following Details and build Batches.
pay_balance_batch_lines
(assignment_id, balance_dimension_id,
balance_type_id, payroll_action_id, batch_id,
batch_line_id, batch_line_status, VALUE,
assignment_number,
balance_name, dimension_name,
gre_name, jurisdiction_code,
original_entry_id, tax_unit_id,upload_date
2.     Run the Initial Balance Structure Creation Program.
This program defines/creates the Element for Initial Balance Feed to all the Balances involved in the Batch.
3.     Run the Initial Balance Upload Program in Validate Mode
This program when run in Validate Mode, validates the Batch to look for Errors if any. No Balances are loaded into the system.
4.     Once the Initial Balance Upload Program completes successfully in Validate Mode then Run the Initial Balance Upload Program in Transfer Mode.
5.     If you run into Errors then Run the Initial Balance Upload Program in Undo Transfer Mode, fix the issues and start from step 2 else Process Completed!!!
All the Legislative Balances need to be uploaded correctly. there is a long list of Fed, SS, Medicare and State/Local Balances for US.
We had challenges with Pre Tax Deductions that didn't update the Fed, SS and Med Taxable Wages correctly and had to make many Adjustments end of the Year.
Do a Regular Batch Balance Adjustments if possible, this will be a simple activity and will assure you that all Tax Balances will be accurate.
Initial Balance uploads cann't be archived, so there Balances will be missing in your Reportigns based on Archived data in pay_Action_information

  • View for Oracle Payroll Module

I am working on a drilldown Report where by I need to generate ALL detailed transaction for a particular period.
I found some views useful for some modules like XLA_AR_INV_AEL_GL_V,XLA_AR_INV_AEL_GL_V a,XLA_AR_REC_AEL_SL_V etc .
I am not able to locate the view for PAYROLL transactions. Please can any one help me with this ? It is very URGENT.
    Thank You.

Okay, so you're looking for actual amounts paid - which means run results or balances.
You won't find any such view for payroll because the question is a bit like asking for a "List of names." Names of what? People, countries, restaurants? List where? Local, globally, other criteria?
Payroll just isn't that simple and you'll find that there are a whole bunch of functional questions you'll need to answer before you can get the right results:
    1. What types of payroll actions should be included (regular, supplementary, retro etc)
    2. What types of elements and input values are needed
    3. Do you only want elements and values that feed certain balances (such as those that might feed gross taxable pay)
    4. Blah blah
Here is a very lame SQL query that gets all monetary run result values for all active employees:
    SELECT papf.full_name
    ,papf.employee_number
    ,papf.email_address
    ,ppa.date_earned pay_period
    ,ppa.action_type
    ,ppa.action_status
    ,pet.element_name
    ,piv.name input_name
    ,piv.uom
    ,rrv.result_value pay_result
    FROM per_all_people_f papf
    ,per_all_assignments_f paaf
    ,pay_element_types_f pet
    ,pay_input_values_f piv
    ,pay_assignment_actions paa
    ,pay_payroll_actions ppa
    ,pay_run_results rr
    ,pay_run_result_values rrv
    WHERE papf.person_id = paaf.person_id
    AND nvl(papf.current_employee_flag, 'N') = 'Y'
    AND paaf.assignment_type = 'E'
    AND paaf.assignment_id = paa.assignment_id
    AND paa.payroll_action_id = ppa.payroll_action_id
    AND paa.assignment_action_id = rr.assignment_action_id
    AND rr.element_type_id = pet.element_type_id
    AND rr.run_result_id = rrv.run_result_id
    AND rrv.result_value IS NOT NULL
    AND rrv.input_value_id = piv.input_value_id
    AND piv.uom = 'M'
    AND piv.element_type_id = pet.element_type_id
    AND trunc(sysdate) BETWEEN
    papf.effective_start_date AND papf.effective_end_date
    AND trunc(sysdate) BETWEEN
    paaf.effective_start_date AND paaf.effective_end_date
    AND trunc(sysdate) BETWEEN
    pet.effective_start_date AND pet.effective_end_date
    AND trunc(sysdate) BETWEEN
    piv.effective_start_date AND piv.effective_end_date
    ORDER BY papf.full_name, ppa.date_earned;
It touches many of the tables you might be interested in but any payroll expert will be able to point out it's numerous flaws (eg, it doesn't exclude certain payroll action types, or exclude errored actions). Don't expect this SQL to be fast (if it finishes at all!) - it hits some of the biggest tables across EBS. You'll want to filter on Employee Number or something like that to play around.

  • English preferences for oracle text error

    Hi,
i did run the script drdefus.sql script as sysdba
and when i try to install the "Presidential Inaugural Addresses" demonstration application in HTMLDB and i got the following error.
    error:------------------------------------------
ORA-20001: This demonstration can only be installed into an Oracle database which has the English preferences loaded for Oracle Text. Please contact your administrator
Can someone help me to fix this error.
    Thanks,
    Philip.

I have 10.0.1.3.0 in place and used the companion cd of 10.0.1.2.0 to install the necessary tools on a clone. It seems to work and I was able to install the application now. Do I have to apply the patch again for some reason? Looking at the Metalink they say I should? Any experience out there.

  • Load Balancing for Oracle Apps in linux

    Dear all,
I need anykind of information for load balancing (how to do it - architecture) for oracle application in linux environment.
Just for info, the database will be on linux too using RAC (3 machines). I have 4 machines to be use as application tier.
any kind of information will be appriciated.
You can also send it directly to my email account: [email protected] or [email protected]
    best regards,
    Yohan

I'm in the middle of doing this right now. There is a doc on metalink (233428.1) that details the process. I would highly recommend trying this in dev/test env first. Even though the instructions are very straight forward and not very complicated, I'm still having configuration issues.

  • In which table the initial balances will be stored when loading via api

    Hi all,
I am doing initial balances migration...
In which table the initial balances will be stored when loading though an api.. (pay_balance_upload.process).
First I have loaded data in to pay_balance_batch_headers and pay_balance_batch_lines tables..
Then called the api pay_balance_upload.process. and the data was reflecting correctly in front end.
But we need to reconcile the loaded data.. for that, can anyone please tell me in which the loaded balances would be stored..
I have identified two tables, pay_assignment_latest_balances
    and pay_latest_balances
when I try to create a balance from frontend I can see the data in pay_latest_balances table..
But when I load via api I am not able to find it in any of these tables..
In addition to that can anyone please tell me when the data will be populated in pay_assignment_latest_balances and pay_latest_balances tables.
Awaiting for your help and quick response..
    Thanks and Regards
    Kishore

You have followed the correct process..As Vignesh said, you can use pay_balance_pkg.get_value to make sure you have the correct values uploaded but otherwise if you are able to see the values in the front end I wouldn't worry about the latest balances tables. These tables, as the name indicate, hold only the latest values and if a payroll (ran post the initial balance upload) has been rolled back, these are deleted since they are no longer available.
You can refer the below Metalink notes for a detailed explanation:
The Secret Life of Initial Balance Upload with Screenshots Example [ID 60057.1]

  • What exactly is balance in Oracle Payroll. Can someone give an example pls

    Hi
I am a newbie to Oracle Payroll. Could some one xplain what exactly is balance in Oracle Payroll. Can someone give an example pls. Is there any link which would be useful to clearly explain this.

Results of Payroll run get accumulated in the Balances. The accumulation happens according to the dimension like ASGRUN holds the value of current payroll run, ASGYTD holds the cumulative value for the current financial year and gets reset at the beginning of the next financial year, ASGQTD holds the cumulative value for the current quarter and gets reset at the beginning of the next quarter etc.
You can see the values of the balances for different dimension after running the payroll.
View -> Assignment Process Results -> Balances.

  • Problem Load Balancing connections for Grid Control Console on port 80!

I have two OMS and I'm balancing connections for Grid Control Console using a Software Load Balancer according with "Oracle Enterprise Manager Advanced Configuration". I have success where the load balancer is listening on port different to 80. When I configure Load Balancer to listen on port 80(architecture requirement) and distribute load between the two OMS(Port 7779), when login to Enterprise Manager Console the URL on the web browser changes to the port configured for HTTP server (port 7780) wich produces an "unable to connect" error message; and this behaviour also happends in some of the internal links of Grid Control Console too. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

I got it working, changing the "Port" directive to 80 on httpd.conf on HTTP Server

    Hi Manish,
It seems that you are using a custom security provider and the weblogic server is not able to find the class / jar file that contains the class.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Failed to load class com.msl.security.providers.SessionPrincipal]
Make sure you have all the required jar files in the server classpath.
You can use the JarScan utility to find the jar that contains the class.
Refer the below link regarding the jarScan.

  • Does extproc for Oracle 64-bit 11.1.0.7 on Win 2003 64-bit load 32 bit DLL?

    Hello
    Background:
We had Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 32-bit EE on Windows 2003 32-bit EE and now migrated to 64-bit (both OS and DB) and everything worked brilliantly ok except...
    Problem:
We used to be able to connect to an external application (Postcode Plus from AFD) via extproc to search postcodes / addresses etc. However, after the migration getting the error:
ORA-06520: PL/SQL: Error loading external library
    ORA-06522: Unable to load DLL
The listener.ora and tnsnames.ora configuration as exactly same as what we had on 32-bit machine (except the host name).
For convenience, I've attached both here:

    Questions:
    1. Does extproc for Oracle 64-bit 11.1.0.7 on Win 2003 64-bit load 32 bit DLL?
    2. When searched got a quite of lot link about extproc32 (for all versions of UNIX), but not for Windows and found this link Extproc32 installation Does that mean it is not possible to load 32-bit DLL on 64-bit Windows installation?
    3. Is there any workarounds? Or am I stumped so I should now go back and reinstate the 32-bit installation?
Any input / recommendation is appreciated!!
    Regards
    Kannan

Does that mean it is not possible to load 32-bit DLL on 64-bit Windows installation?Yes,it's not possible, refer to MOS/metalink:

    Dear Friends

EC-PCA: Totals initial balance  (GLPCT table)                14,178,848.14 USD
I found in GLPCT table initial balances for G/L 1110001 and some of the profit centers are changed. The initial balances are not supposed to change for the entire financial year
I have checked   none of  documents for this G/L and these Profit centers of last financial year  have been posted or reversed in current financial year.
Please try to help me what has caused to changed the initial balances and how to correct it
Please let me know if you guys need more details
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Vinay,
If I understood correctly you are trying to balance  Accumulated Depreciation accounts (from the AA module) with the Cost Depreciation Accounts.
If they don`t balance zero, it mostly likely means, that some user has posted manually deprecian in your GL, not using the depreciation program.
    Hope this helps.

  • Initial Load for marketing Attributes & Attribute sets in Cloud for customer 1405 version

    Hi All,
I am working on Cloud for Customer Implementation with integration using Netweaver PI. SAP has just upgraded the CfC to 1405 version. In the latest integration guide & scenarios, there is provision to integrate marketing attributes & attribute sets as well.
I am following the latest integration guide (1405 version) but could not find any provision or template report for initial load of marketing attributes. Can anyone please assist in the initial load for marketing attributes?
    Cheers.

    Hello to all,
as the marketing attributes ar now supported in release 1502 i would like to ask you if there is now a way to perform an initila load for matketing attributes (Attribute Set, Attributes and Attribute assignemnt). This would be very helpful for all integration projects including marketing attributes.
Thnaks for your help and best regards,
    Markus

  • Regarding Initial load for CUA

we are testing CUA migration in  IDM7.0 version.
Already below systems exists in my place
    1)IDM7.0
    2)CUA System(ABAP)
    3)ABAP systems(Child for CUA system)
Now how to integrate CUA with IDM7.0 and Migrate CUA User information. Instead of Connecting each abap system with IDM, we plan to connect CUA and take all the data to IDM.
so how to do this? Executing Initial load for CUA system will solve this problem ? or any particular process available.
    please suggest us.
    regards

    hi mathew,
    thanks for your reply
Actually our initial step is to find to what extend CUA system information can be taken ove(Migrate) to IDM.
I feel It would be better to take all the Child system user info from CUA at one point rather than connecting each abap system with IDM. so that i can disconnect CUA once IDM is established.
So wondering how to integrate CUA system with IDM7.0, Executing Initial load for CUA system is same
as executing initial load fo ABAP system.
    please shed light on this.
    regards

  • Load balancing algorithm for groups in RZ12

    Hello,
I would like to know the load balancing algorithm for groups defined in RZ12.
I know that log on groups for external connections are administered via SMLG and table RZLLICLASS.
I also know that RFC resources can be managed for RFC logon groups via RZ12.
    Kind regards,
    Peter

    Hello!
Found this post while searching information about RFC and Logon Groups...
I have some mess in my head with SMLG functionality and RZ12. As I know SMLG we can use to distribute users to application server instances, it gives us good achievement in performance. With RZ12 we can distribute RFC connection of particular job for parallel execution on predefined application server. With SMQS and SMQR transaction we can set "Name of AS Group" to route RFC-execution on certain server or servers. But I have troubles with understanding. Imagine, we set up group 1 with 2 servers (name it RFC_GR1), and group 2 with another 2 servers (name it RFC_GR2). How could qRFC scheduler decide on which RFC server group (RFC_GR1 or RFC_GR2) distribute RFC-execution? How to interact "Name of AS Group" with RFC groups if we can set only one group?   How could we distribute RFC-execution depending on our logon groups (smlg)? We would like to distribute RFC depending on SAP logon groups. Is it possible? Or do I compare apple and orange?

  • LOAD BALANCE BEHAVIOR FOR 7600 ON ETHERCHANNELS

    Hi Everyone,
Currently I'm planning to implement ether-channels on 7600 routers, but there's something that's still not clear to me, regarding the load balancing behavior, for L2VPN and L3VPN.
I've read that 7600 in MPLS default load balance behavior is to take  the SIP and DIP if present and the bottom of the stack label or the 5th label depending upon the number of labels on the stack. In l2VPN scenarios when ether-channel is used, if no IP traffic is present what is the default behavior of the etherchannel to calculate the load balancing hash function to select a given link on the bundle.
I'll appreciate any feedback regarding this.

Hi Louis, you could set default routes on the ASA's with tracking, and use ospf downstream to inject the default route in to the network with default information originate - this will only advertise out a default route if it has it in the routing table. With SLA you can track internet reachability by IP SLA echo to something like 8.8.8.8. Both sides can advertise this in to the network, if one goes then there is one left. Just be mindful of the policies and NAT required, you will have to duplicate the rules on the ASA's. With the NAT you have to ensure, that outgoing traffic comes back in the same path it left so it doesn't break connections.
